Our stay here was the highlight of my trip. Within minutes, I knew these were the friendliest hosts I have ever met. Owner's wife personally showed us to our room...four poster canopy bed w/water view. Presentation was only exceeded by quality and hospitality. Comfort level of bed was divine. Food was outstanding (order from the bar after looking at menu). The mix of locals and other guests made us feel very welcome. Within walking distance are quaint little shops, and the train station to other villages which was worth the trip. Owner, and locals, were very helpful in guiding us with advice as to where to find what we were looking for, and, avoiding the touristy places. The lake district is within easy driving distance, which is one reason we chose this inn. Totally beautiful scenery/countryside, and near to castles and other activities. One night they had a quiz night in the pub...totally fun. Melded everyone into one happy group.
Pros: Outstanding friendliness, fantasy room, spectacular view of water/estuary, excellent food, friendly locals, got introduced to other guests, quiet location, interesting shops and train station within walking distance, and fun quiz night in the pub.
Cons: My only regret is that we could not stay longer. I have nothing bad to say about this inn.
