The lodging itself is also really nice. You get two Japanese style rooms (with tatami mats). One is more of a living room, and the other is for sleeping. The futons were extremely comfortable. 5.0 Okay
Pros: We also purchased dinner as options are sparse in the area. Dinner was very imaginative and filling to the point of being almost too rich. My wife said breakfast was one of the best she's had.
Cons: As it was cold, the heater was on but gave off a slightly gassy odor. We switched to the electric heater which made a clicking sound that kept me awake. Also, pro tip: the signs around town giving directions to the inn need updating as the indicated Taiyaki shop has been replaced by a 7-11 store.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Even if it is not a genuine “Ryokan”, It is a traditional ryokan-style Guesthouse with an old atmosphere. We really appreciate the breakfast.
Cons: It is not that we didn’t like it but, like very often in Japan, the facilities were old. However it should not stop you to book the place.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful property, conveniently located a few hundred meters from the Geibikei boats
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location is close to the popular scenic spot. The traditional Japanese breakfast is appealing and substantial.
7.5 Good
Pros: AMAZING, generous vegan breakfast when we requested it. It must have taken hours to prepare: soup, fresh salad with two home-made dressings, vegetable pasta, delicious vegetable mousse, fried tofu, mushrooms, aubergine, greens, bread, jam, fresh fruit plate, green tea... We ate enough to keep us going for the whole day! The host also very kindly gave us a lift to Geibi station, as it was a bit far to walk with our baby.
Cons: Light scent of cigarettes in the room, althoughwe requested a non-smoking room. Not much else within walking distance, besides a convenience store and a laundrette. You really need a car to get around.
9.2 Excellent
Cons: Staff very good

Pros: Location is excelent.
Cons: Bed wasnt much comfortable.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Convenient hotel near the station. Old school and probably quieter because of it. Sofa in the room in case you need it. Internet seemed fine.
Cons: The hotel was in need of renovation. That being said, I don't see a lot of traffic in Ichinoseki that would support the outlay. There is a newer-looking Toyoko Inn next door, but I'd bet the walls are much thinner than the Hotel Sunroute.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was much bigger than we were expecting. The staff were very helpful - we arrived in the morning and they looked after our bags all day long without hesitation. Japanese service is always excellent.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Hotel rooms are simple but dinner and breakfast menu is excellent and alone worth more than the price of hotel, think they will get more foreigner crowd if they put more pics of food, Onden, spa facilities on booking website, 10/10 as value for money, location also perfect between Mitsuji and Chusonji.

Pros: Dinner and breakfast were excellent
Cons: No shower, no shared showers. Just a sink
