The staff The price and shower
Out from the hotel there is a nice view on the glacier. One free internet spot. Too expensive. The room was little and there was no view. The hotel is situated far from Höfn, so is only accessible by car. No exceptionnal breakfast. Few empty bootles of beers were let on a table in the tv lounge during about 24h...
the views, the location, the staff were friendly the chocolate cake was a bit dry.
The view on the glaciers! only one channel on tv!
The quiet location and cleanliness. There were great views to the glacier. The staff spoke excellent English. A good breakfast was included. The dining room was closed for the winter and the nearest restaurant for the evening meal was 8 miles away in Hofn.
location, excelent vieu, breakfast small room, poor furnisching
Quiet and simple, but adequate facilities and service and good location close to the glaciers.
Clean Noisy. Too many banging doors. The electrical outlets were not standard- this is very very annoying when you are trying to charge camers, videos etc
The restaurant and food were excellent No wireless connection in the rooms
View is nice, however better values exist in town. Restaurant so expensive we went into town to eat. Tiny rooms for a high price.
Good breakfast, good location. Musty smell in bathroom. Soap in shower not refilled.
Great breakfast, nice property. Room didn't measure up to the rest of the facility, but satisfactory for an overnight stay.
Hotel was located next to the sea with a friendly and helpful English speaking staff. There was a great breakfast buffet spread, with local herring and cheese/bread. Accommodation was basic but that's all you need when passing through Hofn. Hotel food was pricey
Good price, clean hotel No bathroom
Friendly staff and good location no private bathroom
The Skogarfoss waterfall is really close! It is not so comfortable, but OK for a night
Much more basic than I expected - the room was much like a prison cell
My wife and me were happy with all your offers and services. But we have a suggestion for improvement: The rooms should have something in hip height where the guests can put their suitcases and bags. Otherwise they must put them on the floor and that is not comfortable for taking out and putting in their clothes. We think that nobody gives all its clothes in a cupboard for one or two nights. By the way: That´s the problem in alomost all appartments and hotels on Iceland.
Good location, well trained stuff, nice common area. Very spartan room, flies in the room, have to pay for Internet, all rooms have two small beds.
great location near mountains none
two nigths the location
Good breakfast for 8 euro's. Hotel easy to find along the main road. Short distance from Höfn approx 5 min. Small room, approx 3*4 meters with two seperate beds along each wall. We have had better hotels with bigger rooms and breakfast included for less money. Breakfast is ok but for the price of the room it should have been inclusive. Location of the hotel in the Googlemap on is wrong. Difference of several km. It's not in the city centre but about 5 min outside the city.
Good location, friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast with the most amazing view I have ever seen. The GPS coordinates given by the website will take you into the town. The hotel is opposite the petrol station 5 min before the town.
Being an American, this experience was really different than anything I'm used to. We told the receptionist that we planned on leaving very early in the morning, and she arranged to have breakfast set out for us, which was really kind. We saw aurora borealis from their driveway, which was the highlight of our trip. Free wifi as well. We were told that we would have a private bathroom, but we ended up gettingn a shared bathroom. Not a big deal as the bathroom was clean and there was a sink in our room.
outdated smelly dirty facilities, overpriced
-beds were comfortable -sink was inside our room (not available for all rooms) -breakfast was an option -there was a storm that entire day, and the owner advised us to stay inside the place without further charges. -as long as you expect a college dorm room-like facility, you'll be pleased with it. Clean, warm, and simple. -easy to find (for travelers who do not have a GPS) -we woke up in the middle of the night because the storm blew several plastic chairs against our walls and windows until they shattered into pieces. -owner is slightly difficult to get in touch with (even while inside the guesthouse). He lives upstairs. -breakfast was supposedly at 730 downstairs, but the room did not open until 8 and everyone in the building was wondering who to ask and where to go for 30 minutes.
This hostel was a good value for the price and the staff was very accommodating of late check-ins. The hostel also had beautiful mountain views. The bathrooms had mold on the walls and the showers would flood unless the water was set extremely slow.
This hostel is in the middle of nowhere on the ring road. Despite the name Skatafell, it it 2 hours drive to the National Park. We arrived late (hard to find). Room was clean. Bathrooms small. Good for a one night stay. Hosts friendly.
