Honfleur hotels

Pros: The host was really nice and really helpfull with my wife and I, spent time with us taking care of every tiny aspect of our visit. Would come back with pleasure any time :)

Pros: Great, quiet location just outside the city center but in walking distance from all the restaurants, the harbor etc. Lovely old building with a magnificent romantic garden terrace where we had breakfast. The room itself was quite small, but spacious enough and it had everything we needed. Because there is no airconditioning in the room, they put a small ventilator in our room, which was nice. Staff was very friendly and helpful!

Cons: Although it is a really nice boutique hotel we found the price for the room a little too high for 3***, especially since breakfast is not included in the price (14,- euro pp) plus you pay extra for an egg, for cheese, for ham etc. We were lucky to find a parking spot in the street for free but otherwise you would also have to pay for parking space. These are all extra costs that add up to the already quite expensive stay in our opinion. But nevertheless we had a great time in this wonderful and romantic accommodation!

Pros: We were welcomed by lovely Fleur upon arrival. There is a public and not packed parking located few steps away from the hotel. Our room was absolutely marvelous with stunning old-fashioned (but brand new) French design. Looks exactly like in pictures but still so much more beautiful and chic in real life. Great location, surrounded with beautiful little streets of the town, and just a few moments from the center. Highly recommended. Wish we could stay longer. Will definitely return again.

Pros: EVERYTHING was absolutely fabulous. From the time I called Francois to locate the hotel, till we checked out the next day, I repeat, everything was just fabulous. Francois was extraordinarily helpful with parking our rental car, carrying our heavy bag up to our room and in general so very pleasant, humorous and welcoming. Check in was easy and swift. The boutique hotel is truly a gem in the right location in Honfleur. So charming and elegant and impeccably maintained. The little wooden door from the street, leads to an inviting courtyard so beautifully designed and manicured with topiaries and foliage. The interiors are so tastefully decorated and complimented by impressive fresh flower arrangements (peonies and other flowers in season) and the room we stayed in was so cosy, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The bed was large, linens were fresh and we had a good nights sleep. We opted to have breakfast at the hotel and Francois and Bernadette created a sumptuous breakfast which was delicious!!! 4 different jams, eggs to order and a basket full of bread !!! The location of the hotel is just perfect. Far enough from the madding crowd, yet close enough to walk to the town and the marina and to the many restaurants and of course the church. Thank you Francois, Hadjira and Bernadette for such a wonderful and memorable stay. It was definitely one of the highlights of our 18 day trip to France and I will never forget how much we enjoyed our time in Honfleur, mostly because of you and your warm hospitality. I would HIGHLY recommend this gem of a boutique hotel for anyone stopping in Honfleur / Normandy.

Pros: Simply exceptional in every way, wonderful staff, comfortable room, perfect location. A real home away from home. In fact on check out we bought a voucher for a room night for some good friends. We shall certainly return.

Pros: Amazing property. Calm and luxurious, yet our two year old also had a great time and was very welcomed. While she was napping/sleeping we could sit outside and enjoy the beautiful garden right in front our room. Great pool and breakfast. Spacious room and bathroom.

Pros: Le Clos de Grace is a beautiful property just outside Honfleur. The rooms are exceptionally decorated and very comfortable. We loved having a relaxing day here, swimming in the pool and strolling through the gardens. Breakfast was delicious. Honfleur is a short drive away. Definitely would stay again!

Pros: I will highly recommend this beautiful place. Lovely location , very tranquile, beautiful decorated , absolutely delicious breakfast/brunch (all home made by Sebastian ) and serve by his lovely wife Sophie. Our vintage car brokedown and although we had AA cover the mechanics didn’t speak any English but Sebastian and Sophie were wonderful and translated everything for us. They even took us to the garage to collect the car and translate again. Nothing was too much trouble, we will definitely return for another visit next year.

Pros: Sebastian is a great host - he greeted us - showed us the facilities and provided us with a Cider. He organised a taxis to take and collect us Honfluer and provided us with maps and a key to where to eat/drink. The breakfast provided was spot on and the room where we ate (old apple pressing area design) was a great place to eat and also meet other guests. On our 2nd night we brought food back and ate in the Breakfast room where Sebastian chatted with us again making us feel most welcome and special. 10/10 My wife used the hot tub once and loved every second.

Cons: The weather was very hot and for upstairs guests an aircon unit rather than fan would have been "kinder"............but that was no big issue.

Pros: Pomme d’Amour is a gem of a Chambre d’Hote: comfortable, modern and quiet. Homemade breakfast was first rate. Sebastian is a lovely host.

Pros: This is a corner of paradise right in the centre of Honfleur, though you wouldn't know it it is so quiet and sheltered behind the gate. Wonderfully rustic in appearance with various annexes, our room was much more like a little studio, with more facilities than we might have expected: microwave, refrigerator etc. Large room, very comfortable. with the eccentric touch of no shower cabin, but a bathtub and washbasin etc in the main room. But it worked perfectly well! Breakfast, included, is fantastic with quite a few unexpected wonderful touches! The location is outstanding, makes everything of interest accessible on foot. Wonderful walks.

Pros: Superbly located in central Honfleur gives great walking access to the town. This is a unique property which has been refurbished very tastefully. Secure car parking is 5 minutes away and access via car is tight. Owner was friendly and welcoming.

Cons: If you have mobility issues please make sure you check on access as some room have steep stairs and/or steps. Call the hotel for directions and let them know when you are arriving so they can assist with unloading etc.

Pros: Beautifully renovated historic building, preserving the character but with modern features. Great location, pleasant owner, good breakfast. Excellent stay.

Cons: The beds had a foot on them and are too short. It’s a very old property and although quirky, the floorboards are very noisy when you have fellow residents above you.

Premium Location: quietly in the backyard, just 5 minutes walk to the Center. Free parking very Close to the B&B.

Cons: Note, this is a traditional, reformed house. Due to the wooden architecture it is noisy, at least in the ground Floor room we noticed all words of our neighboors on top.

Pros: Quiet spot set back from the street but merely steps from restaurants and a short walk to the harbour. Frederick provides an excellent breakfast at the communal table.

Cons: Nothing but please note that being Honfleur the (free) parking is a short walk.

Pros: Extraordinary location, five stars hospitality! Christophe was an exceptional host, kind and friendly and full of attention to give us a very very pleasant stay. To be guest in Domaine is to share with Christophe some part of his life , of his projects and that is an unexpected journey in the journey. Extraordinary menu, same as in an five stars hotel for presentation and for the ingredients! A special gift for the guests of the suite: breakfast lunch and dinner for two in an exclusive room, the private library of the christophe's family, where you can spend your meal quiet next to the fireplace. Unforgettable!

Pros: We had a completely amazing stay at Le Domaine d’Ablon. The property was so beautiful and relaxing and Christophe and his wife were such welcoming hosts. The concept of relaxed luxury and privacy was perfect for our family. It was a really special experience.

Pros: The breakfast provided was wonderful. Fresh pressed apple juice and all the breakfast items anyone would want in France. The hosts made sure that we were satisfied. Also, our late arrival was as if we arrived during normal check in hours. Both Christian and Mia provided useful information about Honfleur and we thoroughly enjoyed or morning conversation and tour of the property. We only stay one night as a part of a quick visit to Normandy; but, we recommend this property if anyone is ever in the area.

Pros: This B&B was clean, charming and well appointed. Christian and Mia were very welcoming and treated us like family! Their warm hospitality was present from the moment we arrived and met us at the door to the moment we left and they walked us to the taxi to say good-bye. They were helpful and attentive the entire time we were there. We wish we could've stayed longer!

Pros: Better than home! This place is amazing Without doubt the cleanest place I have ever stayed. The owners Christian and Mia are delightful and very professional The rooms are large, sunny and very well appointed, well decorated, oh and super clean. Breakfast was a feast of home made stuff including jams, yogurt and fruits. There was also local hams and cheeses. As continental breakfasts go probably the best. The property is a 5 minute walk out of the centre of Honfluer which is a very pretty old fishing port stuffed full of great restaurants. I booked it on line through booking.com and was required to pay 50% deposit by bank transfer as they don't take credit cards which I was highly suspicious of, unfairly as it turns out as there was no issue. Definitely will return and can not recommend it highly enough.

Pros: The owners were extremely attentive. They couldn’t do enough for us without being intrusive. A few nice little touches over breakfast. The grounds were very green and relaxing so close to the middle of town.

Pros: The hospitality of Huguette and Serge. B' fast (9-10) was always different and everything was fresh and homemade by Huguette herself. They also give you info about places to visit and restaurants. Although my French is limited, and they speak only French, we managed to communicate very well. Parking inside, locked with a gate, very secure.

It comes with home made cupcakes, quiches, local products and more. We had a small fridge in our room where to put our own stuff in. Supermarket is about 3km away. WiFi works well which you need as cellphone coverage might be a challenge.

Pros: What a lovely B&B! We had an amazing 2 night stay here-absolutely loved the charming location, close proximity to Honfleur. We were hosted by Serge and Huguette’s nueve as they were out of town and she was a wonderful host...the home made breakfasts were delicious. We would definitely recommend this B&B for a relaxing vacation in Normandy.

Pros: Huguette and Serge have lovingly created their own tranquil haven. Their home is full of rustic charm and artistic influence from Huguette, who is a talented artist. All rooms are themed and demonstrate Huguette & Serges individual style and humour. Breakfast is superb with local artisan cheeses and freshly prepared eggs from their darling poulets ! All food is organic, and the taste is evident. It really is an experience not to be missed. A short car journey sees you in Honfleur, however it is also well positioned for Deauville and Trouville and for generally exploring the delights of Normandy.

Pros: A beautiful hotel in a peaceful location within 2 minutes walk of the town centre. Wonderful. Real fast with eggs from the resident chickens. A relaxing and well run friendly hotel. The family room was spacious, stylish, could be partitioned off into separate rooms and was perfect for 2 adults and 2 teenage boys.

Cons: Two flights of steep narrow winding stairs to the room and 29 steps to the car park. If like most clients you stay for one or two nights it's not too much of a problem but we were there for 8 nights. That's 8 times up and down two flights of stairs. At nearly 80 years young with Arthritis it wasn't a good experience.

Pros: We rented the 4-bedroom house which was great. Very clean, very nice equipment, very comfortable bedding. The place is very nice and liveable for 8 people. The staff is very helpful and very nice.

Cons: On the higher end in terms of pricing. Especially that for the gîte cleaning is not included and linen and towels need to be removed by renters.

Pros: This was a last minute booking late in the day after a long drive. I best I can describe this accommodation is a barn conversion in the large garden of our host and extremely quaint. Our host, Jean was charming, personable and keen to help us explore without being intrusive. The apartment was a large space, warm and fully equipped. Along with a large bathroom stocked with toiletries. At Breakfast time, we had a lovely basket placed on our window sill full of lovely goodies including Pastel de nata's ! We were given an late check out too (Thank you for that). We were also able to park our car directly outside the apartment.

Pros: Good size with fridge, microwave and coffee/ tea and breakfast provided in the room. En-suit and parking in front with level access. Dog friendly and helpful English speaking host. Good stop over to enjoy Hornfleur and surrounding area.

Pros: The breakfast basket, delivered to our window ledge each morning, was delightful and plentiful! we loved the seclusion of the property, down a narrow drive between houses, it was a really peaceful haven after the hustle and bustle of beautiful Honfleur.

Cons: The ventilation arrangements. Despite the net curtain at the window, we found we had to close the window during the evenings to keep out the mosquitoes, so it did get rather stuffy. Some form of 'moustiquaire" would help.

Pros: Very nice host. Very large room with bathtub. Quite environment - deep sleep )) Excellent continental breakfast with home-made jam. Honfleur is just 3 minutes driving (if you pass the whole town through there is a free parking near Naturospace).

Pros: We had one night stop over after arriving on the 10pm ferry and the host was very good with allowing us such a late arrival. The bed was very comfortable and having the breakfast delivered to the room, whilst simple, was a nice touch. Only 20 minutes from ferry in a really quiet location. Would definitely recommend and use again.

Pros: We travelled to Honfleur for a single nights stay after a whistle-stop tour of the Loire valley. The two room available are in a self contained building that looks a little bit like a shed but looks are deceiving! Inside there are two en-suite rooms that are both spacious, well equipped and very comfortable with excellent beds. The breakfast was superb with freshly cooked pancakes, croissant, butter and jam. Coffee and tea is on tap in the room. The only down points about the entire visit were: 1. The place was difficult to find and better instructions would help here as would more distinctive signage at the road entry. 2. For a car with a very low ground clearance, the road entry and especially departing back on to the roadway was difficult but I understand from the owner that this will shortly be rectified by repairs to the roadway. All in all a great place, excellent food and facilities and genuinely pleasant and helpful owners.

Cons: The roadway to garden entrance needs levelling. External signage would benefit from being improved as would the instructions to find the location.

Pros: Arrived very late but the host had prepared and left access to the room. The room itself was large had good facilities including a fridge, microwave, kettle and tv. Breakfast in the morning was a lovely surprise when opening the front door and had been assembled with thought. Met the host as we left and he was very friendly and chatty. Parking is directly by the access which was great.

Cons: Due to our late arrival it was very dark which made finding the accommodation difficult, also not helped by the house numbers having been changed recently and google maps have not been updated despite the hosts attempts. For those visiting drive further than you think and look for the house number on the concrete pillar, access is narrow and to be negotiated with care especially in the dark!!! Not the fault of the host!

Pros: Ideal location away from the town congestion. Very friendly and clean but disappointed that having requested a garage and told it would be available it was not.

Pros: Large comfortable bed - separate loo and shower room. A balcony with table and chairs. We were given an upgrade so had a private lockable garage. The host was very friendly and welcoming and showed us to our room. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful. About a 20 min walk into town. This was our 2nd stay here and would stay again when passing through this area.

Cons: We had to hold the shower head as the riser was broken.

Pros: There is good parking. The room (34) was large, modern, simple, with balcony, separate bathroom and toilet.

Cons: The motel is not in the center. There is no elevator. The room was on the 1st floor and it is not easy and quite inconvenient to carry the suitcases from the parking to the room.

Pros: The owners were magnificent. They were very attentive. They served breakfast to us and we had a choice of sitting inside or outside on the patio. The room we stayed in was plenty big enough. The bathroom had washcloths!!! It was awesome.

Cons: There is no air conditioning for this hotel. The windows open and there was a fan. One of the two nights, we arrived back at the hotel late, after the sun had set, so the room had cooled off enough before going to bed. But, with open windows, bugs were able to fly into our room. In the whole scheme of things, this was a very minor inconvenience. The hotel itself is quite lovely.

Pros: Contact hôtel - Motel Les Bleuets is a very good choice for a stop in Honfleur. The room was clean and had a balcony facing the hotel garden, it was great having a private garage for the car, the service was very friendly and the breakfast was good.

The grounds of hotel were so peaceful, the rooms were stylishly finished and breakfast was so good. We only stayed for one night but wished we could have stayed longer. The location is superb for a short walk into the centre of Honfleur. Will definitely be booking again.

Pros: It was simply fabulous! Great location, as in a couple of minutes walk from the beautiful Honfleur, beautifully renovated old converted convent. Helpful staff and all clean with lots of space. Thankyou it was a great stay.

Cons: Very noisy due to thin walls. No tea or coffee making facilities available in the room. Hotel We arrived at the Bar at 9pm to find it closed. Having already paid a premium rate for the room, we had to pay an additional 13 euros for the parking. Overall £130 would have been what we would expect to pay inclusive of both breakfast and parking for this standard of property in France.

Pros: Honfleur as a whole blew my expectations away. And L'absinthe hotel was just that little extra that made the trip even more enjoyable. From the location to the incredible breakfast, you can't go wrong staying here. When we go back, we're going back to this hotel.

Pros: Great room overlooking the harbour. Simple but effective with a good sized bath and shower.

Cons: We had a meal in the restaurant... it would have been good if the hotel had told us to book as the maitre d' had a real attitude because we hadn't booked.... thee rest of the restaurant staff were lovely though.

Pros: Staff extremely helpful( carried our bags from the car park to the hotel)and made sure we knew everything about the hotel in particular and Honfleur in general. The breakfast was extensive well presented and most enjoyable.

Pros: The staff here was exceptional! Everyone at the hotel made us feel so welcome. The room was cozy and the bathroom so nice! Very nice linens and bathroom toiletries. The air conditioning worked great! A real treat! Breakfast was delicious! Great location and parking was a ten minute walk away in a garage. Highly recommend this hotel!

Pros: Great restaurant for dinner! Very nice breakfast and staff.

Cons: No elevator :( Made carrying heavy suitcases upstairs a challenge. Parking is also not ideal, but fine.

Cons: However, a hideous smell of sewage greeted us in our room. It was a bathroom issue that was dealt with promptly, however the sense of this place was style over substance. And the unfortunate scent never really went - we stayed out of our room for most of the stay. Also... it was bare and lacked plugs and surfaces. Not very user friendly. Meanwhile, no desire to stay for dinner. The food was ridiculously overpriced - €80 for a main course? Necessary? Perhaps no wonder the desk team were so keen to book us in to what seemed a less than full dining room. The staff were perfectly pleasant but no real connection was made. We generally didn’t hang around and used the hotel as a base which was just fine. Wouldn’t repeat though. Not one for us
