Pros: Good
4.5 Okay
Pros: The hotel had spacious rooms, a nice lobby, nice staff, and a beautiful garden/bathing area. Breakfast was a delight. It was super traditional Japanese food.
Cons: The rooms smelled bad. The room I was initially placed in smelled like mold. The room they changed me to also smelled bad but tolerable. Other than the smell the rooms were ok. The hotel is in an inconvenient area far from most tourist attractions.

Pros: Amazing guesthouse, has everything you need, relaxing location but still close to the port and the important sights. There is a nice kitchen with springwater, the rooms have great views and are comfortable. The owner is very friendly and does everything he can to help you. Also the island is very beautiful, you should definitely come to this place!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super friendly staff and host! Amazing view from the room, exceptionally clean! I can guarantee you can’t find another great host like Takuya on iki island!
Cons: Nothing to dislike!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Super nice, outgoing Host. International tourist are a rarity and you got to experience the real japanese culture through visiting shrines, fishing villages, sake breweries and restaurants. The nature is stunning - even in late september you can swim in the sea..
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My cousin and I had a great time in Iki thanks to the great hosts at this hostel. Island hostel wasabi is located on top of hill and has a great view of the port and bay. The place is in traditional Japanese style but has been renovated to modern facilities. It also some personal touches the highlights being the flags made of little origami cranes and a treehouse. There are scooters available for those with an international driver’s permit but biking is the usual way people get around. However, if it’s raining, bikes are not rented out so the scooters are handy. The hosts are great, communicative and friendly. They helped us out when we had no way of getting around. Definitely recommend!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The owner of the guesthouse is a great guy, gave us a lot of recommendations that made our visit to Iki island even nicer. The guest house itself is a very old japanese style house that has been refitted with all the modern necessities that you would need.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hostel used to be the owner's grandparents' home, so it was designed in beautiful traditional Japanese fashion, but has LOADS of new modern day appliances. Automatic sinks in the kitchen/bathrooms and super modern toilets (which I appreciated) and a traditional Japanese bathing room. Everything was VERY clean. I was super comfortable. A commons room with a Nintendo 64, Super Nintendo, and TONS of games. The property also has a treehouse, cows, a mountain view of the island, and the drinking water in the kitchen comes from the nearby spring. I'd go back in a heartbeat.
Cons: I didn't like that there was a typhoon on our first full day. Had to stay inside all day, but that wasn't the hostel's fault.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing place to stay, I really like it and the staff are so friendly and help me in everything :). Also they bring me to special places.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing hosts! They were so friendly, responded to messages very quickly and picked me up from the port and showed me around the island. The guest house is beautiful, the surrounding is peaceful, and everything is thought through. You can feel that the hosts truly care about the house and guests. I wish them all the best in their efforts
Cons: As with any hostel, your sleep depends a bit on how other people behave and it would have been nice if some of the other guests were more considerate. I had to ask them to be quiet after 11 pm and was woken up early by them going in and out of the room and fiddling with their bags for a long time. It would be great if there were more private rooms available
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Takuya and his gf were amazing hosts! He took the time to write his recommandations on a map of the island to make sure we don't miss anything! The house was amazing and to know it's been in the family for decades and that he renovated it all by himself make it very special. He also made traditionnal tea for us in the evening which was a very nice touch. I definitely recommand everybody to stay at Wasabi as this was one of the highlight of our trip! Thank you so much for everything Takuya!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing. If you are going to Iki this is the place to stay! The location is amazing, with a beautiful view of the sea and traditional Japanese touches! The owner is more than happy to provide suggestions and recommendations! And might even take you to hard to reach places.

Pros: Nice staff. Good dinner and breakfast.
Cons: Nothing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: the staff was very nice, they tried their best to comunicate with us although they spoke rare english. the hot spring was good.
Cons: Because the hotel located a litter bit far from both ports, so we wrote a email 3 days before the arrival asking about the pick-up service. At first they answered via the "booking message" that if we reserve the dinner they would pick us from the port for free. But later I received a email saying that "they will pick us up for free, and they would have a sign of Ikijimaso, without mentioning the dinner issue". Although when we arrived at the port, we saw nobody of the hotel, so I call them. the receptionist didn't speak any english at all, luckily he unterstood my three words“ Gonoura Port, now, pick up". After 15 mins, we finally met with the driver of the hotel, and the staff even didn't mention about the pick up fee when we arrived at the hotel. I wrote all these verbose thing just want to suggest the hotel to give a clear policy/instuction about the pick up service, because the transportation is not very friendly to the independent travellers. And if you don't come with the group, you'd better arrange the transport issue before your arrival.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All the staff were very kind and friendly, the traditional Japanese tatami room had a ocean view, cozy and relaxing. There were also small onsens for each gender and family. The Japanese breakfast and dinner were tasty. There was also a free pick up service from the port to the hotel. Excellent price–performance ratio, I will definitely stay here again.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very nice. Very beautiful view from the room and from the dining room. Food was amazing and good value/portion size. Everything clean and very affordable.
Cons: No outdoor onsen with no view of the beautiful ocean
