The food was excellent, as was the setting. Really liked the set up of the hotel.
peice and quiet the bed wasto soft for me
The bed!!! It was fantastic, as good as home. It was not taken as read that as guests we would need a table in the dining room in the evening. One waitress actually made us feel as though we were an inconvience as she only had two tables spare!!!!!!!
Friendly and knowledgebale staff; excellent food; beautiful location; rooms finished to a high standard
Excellent food, very comfortable river-facing room, quiet. Staff friendly and helpful. Well positioned for access to Fort william and Inverness
Comfortable and good food available.
The Invergarry Hotel is a very clean, comfortable and well presented hotel in a fantastic location with friendly welcoming staff and good food.
everthing was just great, the room was very clean and comfortabe, food well cooked and well presented, staff very friendly and helpful
Friendly staff and homely comfortable and clean. Stairs up to 2nd floor very steep but you can't do much about that. Eaves/coving in bathroom means difficult to stand up straight after getting out of bath.
Log Fires and Views of River The food at Dinner.
friendly, very comfortable, pet friendly- my dog was welcomed.
The staff were friendly and very helpful. We were given room on the second floor of the hotel. The alleyway was dark and smelled damp and the room was dark as well. It would have been better with more lights. Overall i didnt feel it was value for money.
Great Location right across from the Loch Ness, the hotel itself is a disaster, run down in severe need of maintenance & sprucing up. Understaffed. Wifi only works in the lobby. Ample free parking
The location was fantastic and a welcoming family run hotel No hp sauce for the breakfast
The views. Some of the staff were a bit too relaxed for business use. Breakfast was not available when it was supposed to be and we were not given a full receipt/invoice for our stay.
Location was great, staff very friendly. Menu could have more variety.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Lovat. The hotel has been restored to an excellent standard, and the staff were very helpful.
The Lovat Arms Hotel was a pleasure to stay in, the hotel staff clearly take pride in what must be new branding and new image of this hotel. The bedroom we stayed in was fresh, bright and had the finishing touches to make it as comfortable as possible.
Surpassed our expectations
Fantastic food and surroundings; comfortable beds Very hard to control room temperature in the lodges - our room was very hot and stuffy during the night and due to midges/security we felt we couldn't sleep with the window open - maybe the cleaners could ensure windows are left open all day to air vacant lodges. I would stay in the main building next time. Maybe the management would also consider reserving the parking spaces outside the lodges for the lodge occupiers as headlights shine right into the rooms if others come and go for the restaurant late in the evening.
An excellent location, staff were helpful and friendly, the room was spotless and comfortable and I thought the home made cookies, given out at the checkout was a lovely touch. We will return and we will recommend the hotel to friends N/A
good clean hotel bit pricey dearest in area but it met all our needs so no complaints no
View of the Loch Ness, Nice airy room. Nope it was good.
The room was lovely, the staff were friendly, the food was outstanding and the location was ideal.
Recently renovated and upgraded to an exceptionally high standard, the accomodation was extremely comfortable. The proprietors have achieved a remarkable, eclectric compromise between installing the modern, yet have lovingly renovated and retained many of the original period features. Excellent hospitality. The staff are so wonderfully attentive that, on occasion, we felt a little smothered.(In particular, at the table) We did appreciate that staff training was in progress at the time of our stay.
Peter and Leslie were very friendly. The room was very clean.
This place was superb. The attention to every detail was outstanding.
Friendly and hospitable. On retrospect - overpriced.
Decor, Reception and Breakfast were all of the highest standard None
The place was nice and clean, well maintained and the owners were very warm and provided very good service with a smile. They were knowledgeable about the local area and provided useful information to the residents.
friendlyness of staff and breakfast menu
House was beautifully presented and everything was fresh and clean. We received a very friendly welcome on arrival and a well cooked breakfast set us up for the day. Property is situated in a quiet spot in a busy area, very relaxing. None
Wonderfully helpful staff, a quiet, peaceful location only a short drive from Fort William. Peter and Lesley will not rest until you have everthing you could possibly require. I am torn between writing a glowing review and keeping it secret. Our stay was too brief!
Room was very clean and decent. Staffs are friendly. Room and shower space is slightly small.
Pleasant owners, good welcome, extremely clean, comfortable and tidy. Breakfast very good. Other guests were friendly too. I have no complaints at all.
The owners Elaine and John were the kindest couple and looked after me very well. They treated me like family and it was just lovely. The room was small, clean and well appointed. The bathroom was across the hall, but was mine completely. No WIFI available, but they allow visitors to use their personal desktop to check emails and whatnot. It is back in the woods 2 1/2 miles from the town of Ft. Augusta, but just call John and he will guide you to the B & B and then you will see that it is all right turns to town and all lefts back home. Just when you think you are lost, keep going and you will find it.
Where to begin? I already miss "my" room at Mavisburn... Elaine and her husband John truely are good people, careful, nice, they helped me to continue my journey over Scotland too... The room was tiny and confortable(no need for a bigger one if you're on your own I believe, I felt great there.), the reception was great too, so were the breakfasts... Eating with the sun rising up on the Highlands just in front of you... what else could I expect?! Well, I enjoyed these two nights and days in Mavisburn b&b, Walkers, just go there, you won't regret it!!! To be honest? Nothing!!!!!
Elaine and John were really great and made us feel really welcome in their home. We had a very peaceful rested sleep in comfort and the breakfast was delicious. The B and B is very remote but if you are city dwellers like us looking for a quiet getaway then it's great. Elaine went out of her way to help us! I would recommend this place to anyone.
The owners were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and cosy and breakfast was nice too. There was no table for the single room occupant at breakfast. I had to join three strangers at breakfast. Not a biggie but still... Also I could not pay with visa, so I had to drive 3 miles to town to find a cash machine.
no fuss, easy access, excellent food, happy staff
Food and Service in Restaurant No bath or shower mats. It was stated that the bath was non-slip????
convenient location dining room location not obvious from lobby.
Location to inverness and loch ness no issue
An attractively located hotel, in a small Highland village and seemingly quite isolated but in fact conveniently close to a railway station on the line down to Glasgow.
no young children around
The owners were really friendly and welcoming the room was spotless and the bed was really comfy. Breakfast was lovely with a nice view The only very minor bad points was no heating was on in the room when we got in and the tv was broken . The biggest thing was not really worth £80 a night
clean comfortable room the evening meal was poor.
Good selection of real ale. Service was good. No facilities for disable persons. Inflexible attitude about the menu in respect of older persons who do not always eat a varied diet.
Locality, Atmosphere and Attention
Its a cozy place to stay with a hearty breakfast and a family run feeling
Delicious breakfast, cosiness, provision of services, such as DVDs, afternoon tea etc.....
peace and quiet, spectacular views and good for walking
very comfy bed and pillows. DVD collection. internet access
The old Pines was perfect for us with great attention to detail...very welcoming
unique ambience and setting and excellent food as well as helpfulness of owner and staff It was not ideal that one member of our party had to move room after one night. As well as this the family that moved into that room were very noisy and disruptive and could be heard clearly from our room
Fantastic location, friendly staff, excellent room and wonderful food. Very highly recommended. The rain.
location and comfort-- perfect for our needs, all as usual N/A
Nice setting, friendly staff, excellent food, clean and comfortable accommodation.
Location, brilliant starting point to see the great glen and Carol the owner she made us feel very welcome.
very friendly staff . nice comfortable amenities, easy to find and well located for resturants and pubs
Carol and Mark were extremely welcoming and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. The berakfast was excellent. I would both recommend this B & B and will probably revisit.
Extremely friendly staff, quiet but central location, and a very good breakfast!!
The friendliness of the owner and the qualityof the room and the breakfast
Very nice people, warm welcome and great attention to our entire group.
It's the best B&B I've stayed in. Room very comfortable, warm & clean, lovely bathroom (+ soap, shower gel, shampoo etc), kettle + drinks stuff + an outstanding location. The landlady (Carol) was a great personality + we didn't feel like anything was a chore for her. She was great - we recommend it very highly.
The price is about the best in town, but if you are looking for a hotel style b&b, this is not it. This feels more like staying with relatives. The owner is a very nice older woman, and she makes a good breakfast for you. The ensuite bathroom wasn't really ensuite, we had our own bathroom, but you had to go into the hall to use it, so you would need to get dressed to use it at night, etc.
Carol is great and so friendly, the room was lovely as was the scenery
Its situation near the canal. The friendness of the personal.
Our lovely host.
