The Amara Cay Resort is a destination all its own, and sits right along the waterfront in beautiful Islamorada, Florida. This is part of the famous Florida Keys region and is half the way between Miami and Key West. Islamorada has long been known as the Fishing Capital of the World thanks to the calmness of its crystal clear waters, the surrounding coral reefs, and endless number of vendors and tour operators.

The location makes it perfect for individuals, couples or families and groups eager for a tropical getaway, and the amenities of the resort only enhance its value as a vacation destination. There is the fishing and the swimming in the surrounding waters, but there are also such niceties as free shuttle services, a private beach area, manicured gardens and grounds, pet-friendly policies, bike borrowing, a fitness center, swimming pool area, water sports, outdoor lounges, and Reelburger. The last is a fantastic burger restaurant on the premises and it stands near to the tiki bar where signature cocktails and tasty bites are always available.

Pros (+) Nice room, location, facilities and pool. Bartender in lobby bar was very amicable and mixed a decent martini.
Cons (-) Mediocre food but Lazy Days restaurant next door was GREAT! Mediocre housekeeping but you can always grab your replacement coffee, shampoo, water from cleaning carts in hallways.. Fire alarm evacuation at 1am really sucked. We were fast asleep. No apology or free drink for it.

Pros (+) Staff was very friendly and accommodating, room was very clean and nicely appointed, exterior facility was Very nice as well, great tiki hut and food. Manager even made us a PB sandwich!

Pros (+) Beautiful lobby/restaurant beach area and pool. Staff amazing, friendly and helpful.

Pros (+) The rooms are very nice but they are missing a microwave which is very much needed. They have a Keurig Coffee maker and a few K cups to get your day started, plus there is a mini fridge but there was no way to heat your coffee if you like to add milk and cream unless you go down to the front desk and ask them to heat it for you. Pros (+) The staff were exceptional especially Steve, Snl and David.i was in love with the decor and the cleanliness of the facility. I would definitely go back. And the view from our room was amazing.
Cons (-) The construction that was in progress near the pool area was alittle annoying . Also did not care for the breakfast experience the food was just okay and very pricey for what you get.

Pros (+) The resort was clean and well designed and appointed after the renovation.
Cons (-) They had given my reservation away and took a while to assign a room while they looked for the snafu. They did provide free drinks and breakfast for the delay, though! So that was thoughtful and accommodated for the delay.
