They bring you a welcome drink when you arrive. They gave me a room with a view on my return stay at the end of my tour when I didn't pay for it. When my pre-arranged transfer to the airport at the end of my stay fell through, they paid for my taxi to the airport and volunteered to be reimbursed by the company - a great service since I had spent all my Turkish lira the night before and would have had to pay for a taxi in US dollars. I left my phone charger in my room when I left the hotel on my two week tour. It took awhile to figure out where it was, but the staff did have my charger to return to me when I returned. The hotel is within walking distance of the fishing bridge, spice market, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sohpia, Topkapi Palace, and Underground Cisterns. There are great restaurants just around the corner. So great that when we wanted to treat our guide to a drink after we returned from the tour but the first place we stopped wasn't serving alcohol during the day due to Ramadan, they walked us to a restaurant that was serving AND let us leave our suitcases in their restaurant so we didn't have to drag them to the new place. If I return to Turkey in the future, I will be staying at the Golden Horn Istanbul again!
The staff and the location were excellent as were the views of the Bosphorus. (Make sure to get a room with a view.) The staff took care of me when my pre-arranged transfer to the airport fell through and kept track of my phone charger.
