Great location, lovely gardens. Nice rooms. Breakfast and lunch were good. Service when dining wasn't very good. Also the evening menu didnt change during our stay.
Location Bed v hard, tobacco stench in rooms, risky parking, breakfast not too good. Wifi not working. A disappointing Parador.
Great location and views of the beach Pool not available in October - Not much there for children
Loved the location and the view over the bay and resort. The reception on checking in when we were warmly greeted and given a room with a great view. All six scores ranked Excellent above should Very Good at least but as there is no such box to tick they got Excellent. Excellent is perfection and only rarely merited by any aspect of any organisation. We hope to return next Spring. 08.00 start for breakfast is a little later than one would expect, 07.30 would be better.
Genearlly I like the older converted buildings which is normally associated with the Paradors but this hotel was fine with the usual high standard of service and presentation one expects from this chain.
Very convenient location, close to shops and beach. The Hotel was clean and staff helpful. The large comfortable lounge was also a smoking area so this was not good for those who find the smell unpleasant.
Not a dislike but feel tea making facillities would be good also evening meals less costly as we could get a meal for two for the price of one in the hotel
Staff realised one of our family celebrated 88 yrs. Sent tray fruit and presents to her room. Excellent
room, view, gardens. Nice place to stay
The location is perfect and the views are wonderful. Lovely pool. Dining out on the parador's terrass is lovely but the food is nothing special.
The staff were excellent, the food was good, except the breakfast which I considered poor. Service here a bit slow. The room was very good.
Hotel was excellent, we really enjoyed our stay. The staff were very helpful and professional at all times. Fully recommend this hotel. None.
The hotel was the only one in Javea with an indoor pool. We disliked very much that pets are allowed, mainly for hygienic reasons but also because of barking dogs during the night (with the typical low noise insulation in spanish buildings). We, therefore, will not return tom this hotel.
We liked the location on the best side of Javea with good views to the coast and to Montgo Mountain. We liked the location of the cafe/breakfast room with its balcony and also the location of the pool. The bedrooms are large and air conditioned with a private balcony and luxury en suite bathroom. The rooms are double glazed and have electric shutters for overnight peace and quiet. Nearby barking dogs can be a nuisance. The reception staff spoke good English and were generally helpful though not proactive. The cleaners and handymen were very helpful and friendly. Car parking within the hotel estate is easy and handy for the rooms. There are a lot of stone steps down to the bedroom levels and this can be difficult to negotiate with suitcases etc. It is not a hotel for the disabled. The spa is pricey and not sufficiently promoted to guests either before or during our stay. There is no fitness equipment in the spa. The breakfasts were expensive and very restricted. There was no consistency in the buffet food provided from day to day. The serving staff spoke little English and were completely passive. Guests have to ask for anything that runs out eg milk and also for tea and coffee - nothing is offered. The sun loungers around the pool are of poor quality, uncomfortable, and are not cleaned or maintained. The pool itself is small and not up to the quality of this hotel.
Peace and tranquillity Although ultimately helpful, receptions staff were a little brusque. Little info in the room detailing the hotel layout, meal times etc.
The staff in all areas coulnd`nt be more helpful, the suite was lovely and an excellent upgrade from the double room
The room was excellent, the beds very comfortable, nice terrace, nice view. Very quiet. No wine in fridge. We asked to buy 1/2 bottle of red and got 1 bottle of white wine. Mistake also made in room service order. Management very offhand. Internet very expensive.
relaxing, peaceful, no english channels on tv.
Service and beauty of the property
leisurely breakfasts and spa facilities
Very modern hotel.Friendly & helpful staff. Comfortable, clean & spacious rooms. Close to the beach & an easy stroll into the old town & castle in Denia. Will use again.
Restuarant 'a` la carte' menu, poor quality food badly prepared, Menu of the Day mostly cold dishes. Hence restuarant hardly used. Cafe good.
The staff were friendly and helpful and we had a very large and comfortable room. The pool area is really nice with plenty of shade provided by lage palm trees. Would definitly use hotel again. Surrounding area not very pleasant at night
The room was clean, with a kitchen area (not expected) however there was no facilities to make drinks in teh room (why a kitchen area). Staff were difficult to find and not helpfull with the language. Tried to charge fro breakfast which was included.
We were able to walk into Denia easily from the hotel. Our room opened onto the garden. It was very quiet in the hotel.
Excellent suite, great b'fast, good location, staff very helpful. Very relaxing difficult to book spa treatments at preferable times, air conditioning not activiated in the hotel
Nice Pool area. Comfortable, quiet air conditioning. Closeness to a lovely beach. No tea or coffee facilities in the room. Old style TV. Some poor surrounding areas due to building and dogs.
Cleanliness of the hotel in general. staff very helpful and plesant. Marbel floors outside rooms made it very noisy. Also location of the hotel, a taxi was required to get to the centre.
I appreciated very much being upgraded to a junior suite which was very quiet despite the beginning of the holiday season and the hotel starting to be busy.
Friendly staff. Wonderful spa facilities. Spacious tasteful accommodation. No shower. Approach road is grotty with delapidated buildings and gives a bad first impression. Hotel itself is very smart.
good position. modern. poor breakfast. hard beds. pay extra sauna.
Situation of hotel, friendly and very helpful staff.
Food was not very imaginative and there was not any drink making facility in room
Free wi-Fi Too many elderly patrons
Port Denia is within easy walking distance of the beach and the town centre is about 1.2km away. You will have to pay for hotel parking but there is plenty of free on-street parking adjacent to the hotel. There is a nice swimming pool area and the lounge area is what you might expect for a typical holiday resort hotel catering for package holiday customers mainly above a certain age. Reception was quick and efficient. The location is very convenient. We have stayed in hotels of varying quality around the world but the food and drinks provided at Port Denia rank with the worst. We stayed half board for seven days and at breakfast often trays of food on the buffet bar were left empty for ten or twenty minutes - eggs but no bacon or vice-versa, beans but no chips. The same performance was repeated at dinner (we did not experience lunch). The automatic bread toasters are a joke. You have to put the bread through at least 4 or 5 times to get a reasonable tint. I left mine running through whilst I went to collect coffee (sludge) and when I got back someone had pinched the toast. As mentioned the drinks are dire. There are four or five drinks machines in the dining room but sometimes you had to hunt round for ones that worked or even had cups available. Dining room staff were sullen, if not surly, and it was difficult to raise a smile from most, but there were the odd exceptions. Some of those guests "of a certain age" though the food and drinks were acceptable, sometimes good. I have had a wide experience and I do not think I am picky, but I would advise the management to take a serious look at the way the dining facilities are presented. Check-out was fast. We had to pay up front on arriving at the hotel.
Good facilities; entertainment; location. Very helpful staff.
Comfortable, Not noisy, convienient for our needs Nothing
This hotel was great I cannot fault anything, 10 min walk to centre, balcony rooms have sun all. Day, food was presented lovely, good stay
Food was excellent
Large room and bathroom, well appointed & Tastefully decorated.Very good location. No
The view from the balconey and the harbour.you could go out for a walk round the town and to the marina.
Denia has a more Spanish feel to it than the Malaga Area No
Hotel handsome architecture and presentation, the location was excellent. Room was very spacious with excellent view of the car park and the sea. Room furnishing and comfort was very" faded hollywood", the bed was the worse I have ever slept on in a five star hotel. Breakfast pastries were giving a meaning to the french expression "Etouffe Chretiens" Would recommend this Hotel with reservations.
Room good, view excelent, Breakfast was a nightmare we were told it was from 08:00 - 11:00, we went at 09:45 there was very little left even the payable extras on the menu where not available. No hotel information in room I.e hotel facilities, breakfast/dining times.
Wonderful location. Beautiful hotel. Spacious room with incredible view. Terrific breakfast. Best coffee in Spain.
Beautifully stylish, comfortable room, very friendly staff, very well positioned near town and port areas. would have loved an area to sunbathe in or a balcony
A great place to stay
The peace and quiet was wonderful even though the hotel is very central. We shall certainly be going back. The furniture in the room is beginning to show its age, the paint is rubbing off here and there. The satellite tv remote didn't work. But these are petty things which did not spoil our stay.
The spacious room, the helpfulness of the staff in Reception and the Restaurant. Unable to access WIFI in our room (first floor). No natural yoghurt at breakfast.
Staff were good and hotel clean Hotel was tired our shower would stay on holder and no pressure
The view from the hotel bedroom. The room itself was very small and old fashioned and the beds were cheap and uncomfortable.
I had no complants at Hotel Solymar
Hotel is situated right on the sea front - try and get a sea facing view to watch the sun rise. Hotels was very clean. Very close to some excellent beach bars and restaurants. The rooms are very basic and facilities very limited
Clean room, beautiful sea view. Ease of check in particularly as it was unsociable hours. Buffet style continental breakfast- no need to book.
Overall stay very good. Disappointed with bar facilities.
The beautiful view of the sunset ant Mongo from my window in the evening. I think the sink plug holes need a thorough cleaning as I could see black mould when I looked down then and this rolled my stomach. Also at E6 (six Euros) breakfast was very simple --- a bit pricey for what it was.
I have stayed there before so knew the hotel, great location, basic and expensive for what you get, but when we arrived only 1 room booked even though we had booked 2 rooms and had all the paperwork to prove it but this had not been passed on to the hotel.
We appreciated this quiet place, in front of the see. Also the breakfast buffet, the wireless available for free in the room. Too short stay, so delighting.
The location right at the beach is excellent! Staff is very friendly and the breakfast buffet was one of the best we had during our round trip through Spain. Sea view room have impressive view and are very clean. A real place to relax! Will definitely come back!
The location next to the beach. the very pleasant ambience and helpful staff.
The location right on the beach us excellent, and the pool, although small, was a nice alternative to the beach as well. The restaurant food at dinner was good and the terrace bar was convenient for drinks and light meals during the day. The room was quite small, the restaurant and terrace bar were expensive and the breakfast options were limited.
beautiful beach, nice library of free books, a lot of children which we didn't know in advance, but not a really a problem
Champagne for breakfast. Breakfast was good too. Food in the dining room at night was very good.
The friendliness of all the staff, the peace and quiet, the sea views and of course the food
Very good restorante, location and the beach Nothing
quite location and easy access to beach.the staff were very helpfull and pleasant.very good choice of breakfast. prices of evening meal exspensive, and not a good selection of dishes. the pool area was small considering the number of guests catered for especially in the high season.
The hotel was excelent the staff were very good and pleasant the area round the hotel was clean and safe to walk arround in the gardens and pool area were first class.
The outside space of the hotel. Room was too hot, air conditioning seemed to have no effect. The man at the front desk was more likely to ignore you than be of help. Couldnt get parked in the hotel car park, as there was a wedding function on and no spaces left for gests!
Excellent hotel in fabulous surroundings. Beautiful furnishings excellent food, designer rooms and furnishings
Charming hotel which made you feel very relaxed. Very nice swimming pool and surroundings.
the position of the hotel the staff the whole ambiance two very small points 1. there was no place in the shower to put soap etc 2. the television choice was very poor there were only two english language chanels, they were both news chanels some movies or a dvd service would have been appreciated
Great location, well appointed room, clean, helpful staff Beds very hard
Excellent decor and surroundings. Rooms were well laid out and well appointed Bed was too firm for our liking
Absolutely fab hotel. Lovely staff and very friendly. It was a fair distance from Denia - but a lovely walk early evening with a 5/10 min cab ride back.
lovely location with very nice views Prices, variety & value for money on restaurant quite pricey, we went out for a meal instead to a local indian. Although we were staying off peak so there was probably limited staff and a limited menu.
Staff superb. Environment luxurias. Delightful town. Food excellent. Cant recommend too highly. Look forward to a longer visit soon. Nothing
Ambience of hotel and comfort on public areas . Very stylish public areas. Air con in bedroom did not work and although the lighting was very elegant it was not very practical and there was no mirror in bedroom to sit at to use for female requirements . We had a superior junior suite at the front of the hotel at it was very noisy from dogs barking all night and traffic.
This hotel tried very hard to make the stay relaxing. The standard of hygiene throughout the hotel was good. Staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is now easy to find as it is well signposted when reaching Moraira. Check in was a little tortuous as the room was not ready until 4pm, but we were provided with free drinks whilst we waited and they were flexible when we wanted to stay on a little longer on the last day.
The recently completed refurbishment of this hotel has made it quite delightfully pleasant. I really can't think of anything worthy of complaint!
Very professional staff, excellent service and very good food
Good position, clean and well presented. Lovely pool area and rooms overlooking the pool were well placed Staffing a little eratic ... sometimes seemed like Faulty Towers eg Christmas Carol tape played at breakfast
Reception staff were extremely helpful and friendly. n/a
The staff, as always, were very helpful and attentive. The pool area is very attractive and poolside snacks are affordable. Since our last stay in June 2010 the staff have remained as friendly and helpful as ever but the management seems to have taken its eye off the ball a little. Equipment malfunctions (2) and loose tiles immediately above a bath should not occur in a superior room at these prices. Thanks to the resourcefulness of the staff at reception, our stay was not spoiled.
Good quality interior
Beautiful hotel. Lovely furnishings with excellent attention to detail. Very relaxing surroundings. Highly recommend.
Very quiet, very modern. Nice room. We only ate there one evening but the food was excellent. We were too late for breakfast one morning so the manager brought us a plate of fruit, bread and cheese...marvellous! Picky I know but it would be good to have heated mirrors to clear steam after showering but it shows how nice it was if that's all I have to grumble about!
The hotel was stylish, modern, clean and in an excellent location. The staff were helpful and friendly. Although the breakfast was good it did not match the standard of the rest of the hotel.
The high quality of the hotel restaurant and the view from the room
Really nice staff, proactive help to visitors. Excellent breakfast. Central but quite location
The hotel is in a good location as there were many bars and restaurants within walking distance of the hotel and it is also close to the beach and town. Fantastic view from the room. The hotel is very modern although I felt it was only superfically cleaned. Lots of glass which needed a polish! The downside of the location was that it was very noisy due to being so close to the road. Binmen emptying the wheelie bins outside the room at 3am each morning and rush hour was deafening.
I have stayed at many hotels Denia and without doubt El Raset is the very best and the hotel staff are the politest in the area.
The location of this hotel is excellent, and the decor is unbelievable. Wish we could have stayed here longer, but it was not in our plans. Would love to go back for a longer visit.
Lovely seaside village with a castle overlooking the sea. Hotel is a perfect central location - ask for a room facing the harbor! Wonderful staff, modern rooms and delicious breakfast!
The hotel is absolutely stunning - completely unexpected, really!
The atmostphere and in particular the coutyard for breakfast/dinner was beautiful
Everything! Could be 5star. personal, friendly. No. A little difficult to find but worth the search. a piece of heaven.
A chic hotel which was extremely relaxing and everything was done in the best possible taste.
Beautiful hotel, and garden restaurant. We've had a great time here!
It was a gem of a place . The staff were extremely pleasant and went out of their way to be helpful. The breakfast and dinners were amazing and beautifully presented. The Hotel is exquisitely maintained, lovely dining rooms, and outdoor terraces. Located near a Castle, within walking distance to the port and great shopping. Hope to go back one day. There was a slight problem with putting telephone calls through to my room.
Good central location, great breakfast, friendly staff, great designer furniture and artwork. Lovely courtyard for al fresco dining or pre dinner drinks in summer. Limited to no car parking. No info in rooms in any language re hotel facilities, breakfast tiimes, tv/satallite info, local info etc. Two lamps in room didn't work and were left unlpugged each day but were plugged back in by cleaner for 10 days but still didn't work. The web site failed to say that we were booking on a Fiesta week. The street parties / street disco outside the bedroom window went on for 7 nights until 2 or 3 am each night, which left us with sleep deprivation! Overall two much style, not enough substance.
Design and breakfast, location price
Being able to breakfast late, and the content. The location in the old part of town. No parking in the vicinity (because car park behind hotel being dug up but we had cases and golf bags and the closest parking is currently 10 mins on foot).
Reception very friendly and helpful. Continental breakfast varied and fresh.Room very pleasant and traditional and extremely quiet. The lighting in bedroom was extremely low if you have poor sight may be a problem.
The hotel was beautifully and tastefully decorated with some very interesting artwork and collections of antiquities. Very well situated too, being in the heart of the old town and a stone's throw from restaurants and places of interest. I couldn't fault the hotel
Good location, retro style :-)
The room was a very good size and comfortable. Good location. Lovely 'feel'. Very friendly and accommodating. Difficult to find by car. The garage was awkward when two other cars using it. Breakfast could have been more interesting - croissant or bread. No mention of availability of evening meals but maybe they don't cater for one person but only for groups.
The room was comfortable and the breakfast was basic I did not like that the doors had very poor lock, and that the hotel owner tried to get to the room in the middle of the night. Also, the air conditionere is a bit noisy.
Central location, had a bit of character. Nothing
Building of character in the old part of Denia. Difficult to approach by car and park.
Hotel Chamarel was a fabulous hotel, very atmospheric, beautifully decorated. The staff were very friendly and helpful. No!
The hotel is quite different to many others we've used in being full of quirky character. Our suite was large with comfortable beds and a great shower. There was a wood fire in the lounge which made it a pleasant place to have a late drink in thr evening. Nothing not to like - this is a one-off place to stay n close proximity to a bustling city centre. Nothing that would stop us going back. There was a large dinner party on our last night which meant that we couldn't use the lounge - which was a dissappointment. It wouldn't stop us returning.
Very accessible to the town centre and the beaches. Very clean. They had a sign up in spanish only for non parking outside the hotel. There were parking bays outside the hotel, where I parked my car, but it was towed away. The sign, in Spanish has said so, and I do not speak Spanish. I did point this out the the receptionist though.
Good value, centrally situated, excellent breakfast with fresh orange juice and very good coffee. Hard pillows!!
The helpfulness of the staf finding parking not to easy
Location good for restaurants, shopping, supermarket and bars Breakfast did not have brown bread, eggs of any description or any type of tomato, inall a bit bland.
Service was so good that whem ever we will go to Denia. We will stay in the Hotel Costa Blanca.
Good breakfast buffet,
Very polite and helpfull staff. Now that the town has a new recycling/rubbish system I would advise requesting a room away from the bins, this is because when they empty them at 3am every day it is extremely noisy!!!
v.clean, comfy, basic but nice enough. breakfast was basic, staff v.helpful, good hotel
Located near centre of Denia Triple room was much too small; suitcases had to be stored underneath the beds. Unpacking was not possible as wardrobe was only suitable for one person. It was also advisable to take breakfast early in order to make sure there was still bread, orange juice,....Not everything was available until 11am and at 11am sharp all foods and drinks were taken away even if persons were still having breakfast (no flexibility not even for 5minutes).
The hotel is quite close the the mediterranean beaches, and the main shopping street of town. They also serve a great breakfast.
We liked the character, location and secure parking facility. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There were no tea and coffee making facilities within the room.
Some of the staff were frindly and forthcoming. Very little value for money and misleading advertisement.
Lovely room, very quiet ( no one there). Very good sauna Awful welcome - they did not seem to want us to stay! Inadequate breakfast ( no fresh bread, only one cup of tea) Bad smell of drains in the rooms
It was a lovely, peaceful, quiet hotel, away from the main centre of Denia. There were no towels supplied for the pool. It would have been nice to have some.
Beautiful landscaped garden with excellent heated pool. Happy staff and lovely peaceful rooms with air conditioning. Hope their restaurant is open soon!
This was our second visit and we will stay again soon. Very comfortable and relaxing - very pleasant staff - recommend it!
Very fine car parking 1. It smells of rotten water in the room. 2. on the internet the hotel claimed to be complete minus the room we occupied - however we were probably the only paying guests. 3. the restaurant/cafeteria was closed and we were offered an emergency meal of various cheeses(good ones).
Very friendly staff, always helpful; great dinners and very nice swimming pool. We had a great apt, 2 LCD's in the rooms with great kitchennete utensils water in the pool a little cold, but sea water nearby very warm.
The staff were very friendly, helpful and professional. They were happy to provide local information and order transport. They also coped well with our limited Spanish.
the accommodation was very spacious, clean and comfortable and also well equipped only stayed one night and in that time everything was fine
Near to the property we are purchasing at Gata recidencial You need Sky channels in English as there in only CNN in English
the amability, friendliness and kind assistance of all members of stall in the hotel - the quietness of the place, the beautiful and well maintained garden and swimming pools - the varied children and adult activities - the privacy of the apartment -
The breakfast and indoor pool we had no terrace or balcony and laundry bags outside the room
Value for money, lay-out, comfortable rooms and scenic garden. Situated a little bit too far from the city centre by foot.
Excellent accommodation for a short stop over. Very nicely finished and helpful staff
the rooms were very spacious; comfortable one swimming pool was out of order. a pity, nothing really bad
