Nice Comfortable Room with good eating facilities
Friendly and helpfull staff. Rooms comfy. Quiet. Good food.
Good parking, rooms of good size with large comfortable beds. The freshly cooked breakfast was excellent and good value. The bathroom could have been cleaner. Attention to detail is important. Provision of a toilet brush would be a good thing.
The room was spacious, the receptionist was helpful and there was a good trainconnectio to the city of London.
Checking in was pleasant. Managed to switch rooms from twin to double-- very helpful. Room was old, stale smelling and I questioned why they had many rooms available and other local hotels did not. It is not a £90 per night hotel
The staff was very accomodating in providing assistance in booking a room due to no reservation being received from Booking.com. They initially had only 4 of the 5 nights available but found another nearby site for the 5th night. On the last day, they had a cancellation and were able to cancel the other reservation so we could stay.
Comfort of the matress and size of bed (large) Had to wait a while to be served after being seated, was not sure if we had been forgotton.May need more staff? Also no street lighting, better if car park lit up with signs.
A lovely village pub overlooking the common. Good food and willing service. We had a comfy bed and the hotel was quiet and peaceful at night. Perfect for what we needed. Slight damp smell in room with damp marks on walls in some areas. Shower-head wasn't adjustable.
A beautiful location overlooking Chipperfield Common. Beautiful 18th Century hotel, with fabulous hotel suites, designed for luxury and comfort. No.
The Hotel reception staff. Friendly, and very helpful
On booking we requested that my wife suffers with allergies and requires special conditions regarding hotel room ie no solvents, spray, toiletries etc in the room. Charlotte and Tracey ensured that they could accommodate our requirements and to them we owe many thanks. The room was excellent and quiet - there was no noisey residents and the 4 nights we stayed we had a good nights sleep. Please pass on our comments to the staff concerned. When we have to return to the Hospital we will book again. Many thanks. None to report.
customer service focus was superb and cannot be praised highly enough. Excellent location
Parking provided Clean room with sufficient space to feel comfortable The breakfast, which although represented good value overall, was marred by the fact that no fresh filter coffee was available only hot water and instant coffee granules which one had to mix oneself.
Excellent value for money. The rooms were large and clean and the staff were friendly.
Lovely bed!!! Thin walls...could hear people coughing next door.
Your rooms are always warm and well fitted, clean and spacious. Would just like 2 sachets of hot chocolate instead of the usual coffee/tea in the room.
Ease of access, handy for m1. Food and drink attached Air con not working and room was hot Toilet needed bleaching around the s bend Room had an unpleasant smell
efficient pleasant staff, large rooms, dark rooms , good soundproofing and a decent breakfast
The peace & quiet No
Grounds and welcoming staff The room was stuffy overheated. We had to leave the window opened all the time.
It had a very quiet and relaxed atmosphere When we arrived mid afternoon we would have liked to have had a drink in the bar - but it was closed !
Great bar/lounge area with free tea & coffee. Rooms compact but beautifully decorated & furnished. Bar & restaurant staff were a bit amateur - for example, plates left on table after we'd finished eating & left empty wine bottle even when we moved onto our second. Friendly enough though.
Everything was excellent. Especially, staffs were very kind. For exemple, when I asked the way to the Stonehenge, one staff explained me by bringing maps, and even copied them for me. Restaurant was cozy and served dilicious food. I could hear the voices from corridor.
We got a really good value rate on this hotel, and it complied with and exceeded our expectations. It was nice to have the swimming pool (even though it was a tad cold) and extensive grounds; they made for a relaxing break away. We didn't have breakfast but ate dinner at the hotel restaurant, which was, I think, a bit better than the standard sort of fare in such restaurants. The bar was also a nice relaxing area with free selection of tea/coffee. The jacuzzi was broken, but we did not intend to use it anyway.
We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, pool, good value food, free teas and coffees in the lounge... Jaccuzi wasn't working
easy access efficient pillows uncomfortable
It was an amazing venue with beautiful grounds and mansion house. Even though it is a small hotel it did not detract from our enjoyment of the hotel itself. The staff were helpful and pleasant. We would certainly stay there again and would recommend it to friends and family. None
Good value for money, It had Sky Sports and free Internet Access Could do with some hotel info in the rooms
price, and room rooms very small
Was given the smallest of rooms, with bed sided by wall. There was no light on the desk, and the single light in the bedroom hall was not sufficient. For th price of the rooms they could offer internet for free. Carpets were durty and smelly all over the hotel. This hotel would certainly do with a massive refurbishment.
I liked the look of the hotel. The friendlyness of the staff holding doors and generally being polite. A+ I stuggled to understand the accent of the front desk workers. We got lost in the hotel a few times, not enough signs from the stairs + lifts to the front desk.
Room very good, breakfast very good Wrong price charged at checkin, but corrected on production of paperwork.....bar prices very high, no bar snacks, no draught beer, no ice. There was a party night in the hotel, when we arrived back from an external event we were met by a police van hauling fellow guests out of the hotel......
The warm and welcoming staff - at reception, cleaining the room and at breakfast satnav took us to the wrong side of the road
Hotel heating was stuck on full and the room was extremely warm, the road noise made it impossible to leave the window open, the shower mixer knob was broken and the shower head wouldnt direct over the bath due to worn fitting.
Nice breakfast, good parking, good location just out of the main town Stayed on Floor 2 and had wooden floor above us and all you could hear was creaking noises where other residents were pacing around all night. At least I think that is what they were doing.
The friendly staff at the reception desk Family room (adjoining room) all I wanted was a double room
The hotel was convenient to the event we were visiting (Patchetts equestrian Centre). I was impressed with the comfort of the beds!breakfast was excellent and the bar was good. My husband visited the pool area and found it good Ok. This is not about us, but what we witnessed and overheard whilst checking in. Another customer was complaining about a charge on his room, when he had not bought anything. It was explained that this was in case he used something like room service etc or made any charges on his room. The customer did not understand, and I am afraid that the male receptionist argued with him and it got very heated. Please remind whomever it was that the customer is always right and just say I am sorry. The charge was taken off but the customer was very upset and quite rightly. We were also charged but our female receptionist explained it well......
The restaurant staff were outstanding, warm & friendly, and genuinely eager to serve. The dinner was also good value for 17 pounds, and the breakfast was superb. The bar staff were friendly and helpful, and we especially enjoyed drinking our bottle of wine after dinner in the garden patio. The room was so hot, it was almost impossible to sleep. Never stayed at a Hilton anywhere in the world that didn't have ac. And the parking lot and street outside were very noisy, with a lot of screeching tires and gunning motors. The wireless provided by bt is also greatly over-priced.

this was our 2nd visit to Jurys inn.. we have family living in watford so it was a perfect base while we visited. the location is lovely and the high street in watford has everything we needed.
Central location Near to shops Close to Rail Station Easy to find Spotlessly clean No on-site parking
Price fair for the quality of the room Lack of parking
The Jurys Inn Watford was lovely and warm. We asked for a quiet room and got it. It was lovely and clean basic but bed was very comfortable. Bath was very clean and I had a daily bath - a practice I would not usually do in hotels. I found the bath small but more comfortable than my own one at home which is very large - it just moulded to the shape of the body. I thought shower rail with semi circle gave a lot more room in the shower. We also ate most of the time in our room for convenience as we were over for a family wedding and it suited us to rest between functions. Reception was very nice, but one of the barmen referred to my husband Noel as you lot - the Irish - which would be a very racist comment!! Staff did not seem to know anything we asked them - they had to look everything up on the web - even what terminal the flight to Ireland went from when taxi was waiting. I think Jurys should have a chart of terminals for all countries from which they have clients and it could be posted in reception area thus obviating necessity for asking in the first place.
It's very modern and new hotel, good breakfast, nice rooms, located in the city center No mini bar in the room, payble WiFi (5 GBP for 1 hour, 10 GBP for 24 hours)
Sink stopper would not rise. Removed same but staff replaced it daily w/o repair
Very high standards all round. Difficult to park as with a lot of towns now. Parked about a mile away.
The staff went OUT OF THER WAY to be accommodating, helpful, friendly and generally go "above and beyond" to provide outstanding customer service. Deputy Manager Rob was wonderful as was Ellie and the rest of the staff!!!!!! I also would like to compliment the wait-staff at the breakfasts--they were AMAZING--couldn't do enough for us...every morning and every day of our stay. Jury's Inn is to be commended on their staff training and customer service policy!!! The room assigned to us left a lot to be desired. The room we PAID for an upgrade for, was much, much better.
The staff werre very professional and helpful. The hotel was very clean and the room very spacious. There was no parking at the hotel although once you had found the nearby parking it wasn't too bad.The bar food and drinks were rather expensive.
Hotel was clean and well maintained, service was good, food and restaurant were both very good.
Location, excellent breakfast buffet, good food in evening offerings Unable to call internationally and night staff had no clue about solving situation.
The breakfast was a 10/10 night staff on reception left us waiting for entry into the hotel, until he had finished a phone call. Barman ignored us when we tried to order food and drinks and served a customer who had obviously been in the bar all night giving tips to the staff! Night staff were very poor to say the least!
Very nice building and setting No Wi-Fi in the rooms
it was very comfortable food was good parking was excellent, its location to london with transport was excellent. will be staying there on all the rest of my business visits. did not have a enough time to relax and enjoy hotel
spacious room Room was cold on arrival and heating hard to adjust, it was a a/c unit and noisy on heating fan setting
pleasent stay kind and attentive staff
I was very impressed with the decor and the rooms. I also loved the views and the breakfast was great. I can't think of anything I didn't like - and I work for a hotel chain!
The service of the staff, quality of the food and the location were all very good
Our stay although for only one night was perfect for our occasion, the staff was very great, and the setting was perfect.
food takes too long
Sapcious comfortable room but couldn't regulate heat No heating in bathroom
It is a beautiful hotel, the staff were helpful, and the room clean and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay. The service at dinner was exceptionally slow, we had to remind waiters of items we ordered.
Excellent location close to airport. Very quiet and comfortable room with good shower. Complimentary breakfast was fine with good quality ingredients .On a freezing cold weekend, the hotel was very warm and cosy. Whilst dinner was of acceptable quality, the menu was perhaps overpriced because of the captive market. I do resent paying £5.90 for a glass of not very good wine.
the attention given by check-in staff and the comfort of the rooms, good food none
Ran out of things at breakfast time
Location location location Nothing bad
closeness to airport, clean, efficient room no warning that there would be a charge for parking the car overnight check in staff short on charm!
nice having a bar, free breakfrast buffet, coffee and tea started at 430am. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Hotel is very near to airport and i was satying to pick up some friend of mine and it became very easy for me .
Excellent location by the airport, nice and professional personnel, professional services, clean
Convenience. Restaurant good for what it does. Order off the specials board. Very well sound-proofed.
Restaurant staff seem to be bothered by our presence and not too will to see if we required service at all or not
It's less than 15 minutes walk to Luton Airport The bed in the first room they gave me apparently hadn't been changed from the last occupant since it contained several long black hairs. I asked for a different room and was given one, but this changeover ate into the five hours sleep I was already limited to and should not have been necessary.
Room was comfortable, cosy and very clean. Lobby/bar area was cold, was freezing outside but maybe heating could've been turned up.
perfect location for very early flight next morning
We arrived late and the staff were welcoming, friendly and gave an excellent service. Location very good. 24-hour bar a great asset. Room was much too small, very clostrophobic. We stayed in room nbr 106 (ground floor), window faced the car park and we had no privacy - only if the curtains were drawn. Curtains were damaged and did not close properly. Price of gbp 79 far too high for these standards.
the bed was really comfortable none
The location from the airport, very convienient. Ideal for a business person or a family looking for a one night stay. Staff very friendly and efficient There are no complaints
Location for airport. Good bar and restaurant area unusual for an Ibis. Usual Ibis cleanliness.. Watch out for the pricing policy. The published rate is a fiction. Always book in advance to fix the rate.
Nothing The room was very small The shower was very small Nothing was good about this place
Friendly staff at the reception. Within 10 minutes' walk from the Luton airport. We sat at the hotel restaurant table for 20 minutes without even being noticed by the staff. And oh yes, we tried everything except shouting. They just walked on by, so we left to dine elsewhere. The Internet tv image resolution was lousy and the tv channels did not show properly (antenna or cable defect?)
No obvious directions from the airport terminal to Ibis Hotel for guests not arriving by car. There is a regular bus service (stop en route to Parkway) but it isn't well promoted.
There was insufficient lighting in the bathroom and bedroom to make up. Please please allow pets!
For a stately home it had a homely atmosphere.
The buildings and grounds are superb, the spa is very good but most importantly the staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly Anthony at concierge.
Hotel was Luxurious, Staff friendly and Spa facility amazing, would Highly recommend. No, all good

The hotel itself is grand and beautiful with lots of character. The staff were very friendly, the room was comfortable and the food was delicious. We loved pre dinner drinks and the atmosphere in the lounge with the fire burning. The swimming pool and sauna and steam room were great. The jacuzzi had the most powerful jets and we thoroughly enjoyed being the only guests that afternoon as they only just opened the pool. The walk around the hotel is lovely with the secret garden making it more attractive.
i booked for my 21st wedding anniversary as a surprise for my wife. The entire weekend was absolutely brilliant, outstanding historic building, great facilities, wonderful staff, fab food, we enjoyed the spa too. We will recommend to freinds and return without doubt. no
- Pet friendly - Beautiful building with beautiful rooms and beautiful gardens - The kitchen is just regular - We had to queue for the breakfast because the room is too small - We had to reserve even for the 5 o clock tea hours in advance
Luton Hoo is a superb hotel The staff are excellent and very professional the buildings impressive and the dining rooms spectacular .. we did not play golf but we did think the course looked very boring ...the spa was wonderful and the rooms very comfortable and extremely spacious We had a room in the coach house [ an ungrade not asked for but offered ! ] It was above the pro shop of the golf course and very noisy [ beware ]
The restaurant in the hotel, The Wernher, was superb. The food was totally excellent. Worth every penny! The service was very good too. The hotel itself is beautiful , inside and outside. The grounds are lovely. When i booked, i was given the impression that the room would have views of the grounds,as that was part of the room description. But we were given a room that was far away from the grounds and below the ground floor. But the room itself was gorgeous.
Every aspect was ideal for the peaceful, luxurious and celebratory stay for which we were looking. The management of the restaurant seemed to leave something to be desired. Whilst the staff were pleasant, helpful and courteous, many of them appeared to be wandering around aimlessly as if they did not know what they were supposed to be doing. Further, there must surely be something to be said for guests to be allocated tables for the duration of their stay, rather that allocated haphazardly at each meal.
No stairs Noise from closing of doors during night.
As a single female traveller, I would have preferred not to be on the ground floor.
I liked the main part of the hotel,, restaurant, pool etc The staff could not get the so-called central heating to work. It looked more like an air conditioner. There was a moveable electric radiator, but they are dangerous to use at night
Hotel with everything, restaurant, bar, gym, pool and comfy room Shame that the WiFi is not free. I think all hotels should provide this now for free.
The fact I booked and paid for 3 twin rooms at the same time, one for us, one for my parents, one for my son. It was our treat for my parents as it was my son's graduation. 3 times my father was told that his room had not been paid for and was asked how he was going to pay.
Was for work - not pleasure!! Meal in the Thistle restaurant was nice Very shabby and dated - could do with a face lift
use of the leisure facilities
ample parking beds very hard, room dated and tatty, bathroom grout and silocone was black in places
The room that I had was too warm and I was unable to cool it without increasing the traffic noise from the busy road outside. Plumbing noises were all I needed for an early morning call and that was with ear plugs in situ! The mattress offered had broken spring metal hanging out of it and the cover was ripped The breakfast menu had two types of sausage offered and I asked for the Cumberland sausage, the three that I was offered in no way resembled the said sausage at all.
Everything was bad, rooms dirty, rooms to hot, room service poor, staff unhelpful and miserable looking, no vegitarian dishes, harldly any drink at the bar.
Room only had been set up for one person and when i rang down to ask for a mug so my partner could have a cup of coffee, which was also limited, i was told to go to reception to get one. Check in was slow as receptionist was also serving at the bar and we had to wait a while to check in. Car parking was very limited and this is not advertised on the description of the hotel.
Excellent hotel. Clean and basic. Excellent value for money.
We supposed better service 3 persons room was not for 3 adults. 1 person didn´t have sufficient place on bed.
Clean bathroom terrible service - when we got there no one was around to let us in the car park so waitied about 15 mins. At check in no info was given about check out or breakfast time and also did not inform me about the pin code we needed to leave the car park!!! Lack of information!!
the bed had a heavy night.
Nothing. The whole experience was dire. The evening food (curry and rice) was amongst the most disgusting, overpriced rubbish I have ever had.
Convenience.Location. Size of Room, lack of storage eg drawers
The reception staff were very helpful and friendly. I had no trouble with having to kept medication in their fridge and freezer blocks in the freezer. The 'hot' selection at breakfast was cold and there could have been more selection in the hot range e.g. tomatoes, baked beans.
The comfort and cleanliness of the bedrooms I think the hot breakfast could be a little more better cooked and immaginative
a good buffet breakfast
too noisy--- rooms directly giving to sportsfields with a lot of noise. vibrating waterpump to serve 1st floor bathrooms, almost constantly "buzzing"
Lovely comfy beds!!! Shower area was quite dated and not ad clean as I hoped for the £57 we had paid
E - Mail sent regarding complaint.
very courteous staff and nice facilities distance from town
Reception staff were friendly and help out on a couple of occaisions when i needed. A bit out of the way from shopping centre / train stations and airport, with no transport to either. Taxi's were required for every situation.
Very convenient to the venue we attended No
Practical and ease of access as a business traveller Rm. 435: Hot; noisy outside until 10pm with 5-a-side football 'slamming' into the wall and lots of shouting/swearing; no soap; jacuzzi bath u/s, some lights u/s; overall lighting dim; room appeared 'worn' but clean.; could not access room initially with allocated room card - irritating
cleanliness of room very rude bar staff and a memeber of reception staff
Location is good for its communication links to London. Dining experience was good, as was the Bar service. The general condition of the interior of the hotel is ' tired ' and could do with a make over. Some of the staff need to work on their ' people skill's ' and smile alittle more often. I booked two rooms for my family. After checking in and being issued with the key cards, we found one of the rooms was still being lived in by another occupant. ( All their personal property, clothes, valuables and lap-top computer still in the room. ) Very poor security. We had to return to reception to organise another room, which was subsiquently on a different floor. Overall very poor value for money considering my final bill. ( The equivilant of a week in Spain.!. )
Good reception. My room was upgraded to a suite for no extra charge. Shower water was only tepid. Could not get to normal temperature
staff were friendly, nice breakfast. food and drink are very over priced (roughly £30 for a main). Small portions, and cold! i stayed in one of the best rooms in the hotel, and the bedspread was heavily soiled. tv stations not all working. as people are eating their expensive dinners, the hotel wedding co-ordinator likes to show prospective clients around the restaurant (pointing and standing next to tables discussing wedding plans). hotel was over priced by far. I have stayed in better, with bigger bedrooms for far cheaper! will not use again!
The fact that the children could have their breakfast in their room with a tiny service charge. The bed was very comfortable That we were only there for one night!
Excellent family atmousphere, good caring professionalism of staff, high quality dining and clean, well desigbed rooms Nothing at all
the location is superb with lovely grounds backing onto a park and a wealth of ancient roman remains. The hotel buiding itself is a wonderful example of Georgian architecture. The cuisine is excellent but expensive. a party consisting of a high number of young children that monopolised the bar and lounge areas.
The staff are extremely nice, and the hotel is in a beautiful setting. We got upgraded as it was our honeymoon. Dinner in the restaurant was very delicious, but it was a bit expensive for the relatively small portions, and the music was a bit out of place/loud.
Very efficient staff and quick check out
Hotel was fine but be aware that the local rainbow taxi firm ! Rainbow are used by the Hotel and are extremley pricey and appear to be operating at extortonate prices for tourists . A 4 min ride to Rothampsted Manor on the outskirts of Harpenden was charged at 15.00 out ward and then £22.50 return , and that was before midnight !!
The hotel was lovely with friendly staff and clean rooms. I found the bar rather expensive compared to others and as the hotel is out of town you are not really able to go to any other bars. Over all it was a nice stay. Bar prices
Hotel staff very welcoming and polite, breakfast very good. Abit disappointed our room did not have a bath and bathrooms are very small.
Bed Comfortable Wedding Party music continued until 1 A.M. This was not made clear when booking, I was not part of the wedding party. This meant that I was unable to sleep until after 1 A.M. The shower rail just fell down. No one was in the bathroom at the time. This rail had a very poor way of securing it to the wall. This meant that the second shower had to be taken without the use of the shower curtain.
Pleasant enough The room was quite a journey with cases
Efficiency of booking. Staff welcome, their appearance, general handling of arrival and departure and friendliness Difficulty in finding room from reception and length of walk up and down stairs through what seemed like a maze to get to the room. My car was parked virtually outside the room but to get to it required a 200 yard walk. It was easier to illegally open the fire door! The state of repair of fittings was below standard: bedside light dimmer fell off and the shower control fell off. Water from the shower cascaded over the floor through poor design.
Excellent room facilities Bar running out of offer wines and food
we have stayed here several times, always good some late night noise from guests
Not much really, was good evening as it was a friends 30th birthday party but room was a twin instead of a double which I paid for and the twin beds being put together(which I did myself even though the manager said she would send somebody up to do) were uncomfortable Read above
Absolutely lovely staff
Nothing - not one thing- sorry. Room - bath and shower didn't work. Water in basin - cold - couldn't wash. Ceiling covered in cobwebs - spooky. 40 watt light- couldn't see my work. TV - poor -remote didn't work. No breakfast possible. Given a stale pastry. Room cold. Found fire door left open twice. No security.
The only thing missing was the hotel offering breakfast. To be honest we were not expecting much for £40 a night but the hotel was really lovely an old fashioned pub
The friendleness of the manager
not a lot Having to wake the manager in the morning at 8.15am to check out!!!!! Good job I didn't want breakfast!!!
The room was lovely The shower cubical was very shabby and in need of replacement. The Hotel should have informed us prior to arrival that booking a table for an evening meal well in advance was advisable. The Hotel management was not very complementory about neighbouring resturants when infact the Waterside resturant/staff and food was very good.
The fact they allowed us to stay, despite not having received our booking! Blood on the pillowcase!
Leaving the hotel. I stay at several different hotels throughout the year, ranging from budget to luxury, but this is honestly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in and woke up early the next morning to leave as soon as possible. 1: Arrived at 2pm. Booked a double and got a twin- despite our complaints, the double next to us was left vacant till 7pm- and those guests were told it was a spare room! 2: Private function that evening meant the hotel was closed to the public. Music to the party went on well past 1 AM. No all day bar snacks/food available as advertised.3:Worst of all, at checkout, 9.15 AM, the hotel was empty of staff....very worrying.. how many H+Safety breaches would that be? we had to leave a note at reception.
The room I and my business colleague stayed in was comfortable and after a long day the overall atmosphere was relaxing and the staff were pleasant. The menu was also good and pricing ok. The plumbing to the room could do with sorting as it was around 5 minutes before any hot water finally came through. (Not much fun when already undressed and standing in the bath).
The staff were very attentive and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The 4 poster bedroom was lovely and full of character. Also I had the best nights sleep ive had in a long time in that bed and the best power shower too. I dont remember the gentleman's name who worked in the hotel, but he was very kind and made us feel really welcome. The restaurant food was amazing, definately the best serloin steak and chips ive had in a long time. Not too badly priced either. Infact, the overnight stay at King's Lodge, dinner and 2 drinks was actually cheaper than the nearest Premier Inn, happy day's!! The only bad point was that I felt the room was a little dusty. This was only highlighted as the furniture has been painted black, so the dust was very obvious, but not off putting.
