Pros: Had a wonderful one night stay at La Laconda. The place is beautiful and peaceful with a secluded gardens all around the property. The rooms are nice, interestingly decorated and very comfortable. Kevin was great throughout and the partner tour company they recommended, Beyond the Gorillas, for activities were fantastic.
Pros: Warm showers, great fireplace, very friendly and welcoming staff
Pros: Hidden away in Musanze, La Locanda appears to be the expat residence hotel of choice for very good reason. Mind the address as there are no signs or outward indications of the lovely guest house and cafe inside, once you arrive you'll find a welcoming staff and likely a few of those in the local expat/NGO community who call this place home.
Cons: Wifi in the rooms would be nice, as is, it is only accessible when in the cafe/reception area.
Pros: This place is great - it's like living in the home of one of your most hospitable friends, who also cooks well and healthily and has a daily professional cleaning service. It's a peaceful, beautiful space - perfect for resting after tiring hikes. Highly recommended.
Cons: I liked pretty much everything. Having a way to dry laundry quicker during the wet season - getting a dryer, setting up fans, etc - would be great, as my laundry took over two days to dry and wasn't really dry when I had to leave. But a very minor issue.
Pros: The homely feel, wonderful gardens and birds, the sitting room areas and the fire and friendly staff
Pros: Our room was a very comfy little house in a very relaxed garden, the shared living room has a nice fireplace during the cold nights and the staff is super nice and welcoming. They picked up our muddy stuff when we returned from the volcanoes national park, cleaned them and discretely returned them. One of our favourite places in Rwanda !
Pros: Service is absolutely fantastic! The gardens and common spaces are gorgeous.
Cons: Internet is not fully available in all rooms.
Pros: Excellent location and mostly helpful and friendly staff. Very clean. Great value for money.
Cons: No fan or a/c. No published prices for food or drinks.
Pros: It was clean and tidy; the staff were friendly; the common areas were pleasant to spend time in and meet other guests. I loved the fireplace.
Located in Ruhengeri, Amahoro Guest House is in the mountains, within a 15-minute walk of Cathedral of Ruhengeri and Shyira Diocese Cathedral. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, microwave in a common area, and refrigerator in a common area. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The owner is very friendly, speaks good English and is very helpful, either with telling you the directions for things in the town or for organizing tours. And the free breakfast is just fabulous, easily best breakfast I had in Rwanda
Pros: Wonderful staff (Norbert and Amos were awesome!), really comfortable and clean room, delicious breakfast, great location!
Pros: The best day was when taking a tour to the twin lakes, if you are there please take it, you won't regret. even though I went for hiking up the volcanoes, this trip was a very unique experience. Norbert (the manager) was an excellent host and the daily breakfast was delicious as well.
Cons: The room I was staying in could be improved in terms of cleanliness. My room had kind of a bird nest on top of the window, which should be removed :)
Pros: This was a great place to stay the night before hiking Mount Bisoke. Norbert very kindly arranged our breakfast at 6 am so we could arrive at the park entrance at 7. We would certainly recommend to others looking for a spot from which to explore Volcanoes National Park.
Pros: The best deal in town - for sure!! Nubert and the guys are amazing, did so much for me, and thanks to him i had an amazing experience staying at this place. Look no further, this is the best choice and best value for money. Highly recommended!!
Pros: i slept really really well! the warmth of the blankets are adapted to the temperatures. the staff is pretty cool and helpful with the internationals (also organize trips to volcanoes) and trustworthy and reliable (forgot my laundry, but no problem!). good price/quality ratio.
Cons: Shower could be fixed to have more pressure and warmer temperature.
Pros: Staff were lovely and helpful. And honestly THE BREAKFAST IS AMAZING. Huge portions which suited me after hiking
Cons: Given the price I was expecting a slightly higher standard whereas this is a super budget quality. I think my main issue was the smell in the room, there seemed to be an issue with the drains in the ensuite. This was particularly difficult to deal with as the ensuite is within the main bedroom so you could smell the drains all the time. The location was good access to the bus station and easy to find. However as a solo traveler I found the access being off a side road a little difficult as I found it uncomfortable to walk up the dark side street at night.
Pros: Great staff, especially Norbert, who goes out of his way to help you. Highlight of the trip was his tour to the twin lakes, one of the most beautiful areas I've seen! Breakfast is extremely filling. The location is great too, quick walk from most restaurants as well as the bus station.
Cons: Room and bathroom needed a good deep clean and a lot of the furnishings in the bathroom look like they haven't been replaced since first built. Rooms showing their age. Door to the room doesn't fully close (gaps everywhere) so you can hear every sound from the house, especially if other people are getting up early for hikes.
Pros: I agree with the other reviewers here: Norbert is such a wonderful host. He even helped me arrange a hike up Mt. Bisoke even though there were no permits available online anymore. Would definitely go again.

Pros: The atmosphere at Red Rocks was great! The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming and willing to help you with all kinds of options and suggestions.
Pros: The Food was great!
Cons: Needed basic amenities like bottled water in the room.
Pros: Our meals at Red Rocks were delicious -- they even made us packed Rollexes for lunch, which a friend decided was her "favorite meal ever." The staff was incredibly friendly, the safari tents clean and comfortable, and I very much look forward to returning. Thanks, Red Rocks!
Pros: Main staff member Peterson was courteous and helpful throughout. Food, both dinner and breakfast, we well prepared, fresh and tailored to order.
Cons: There was an incident with a member of the public who had apparently been drinking the previous night with some of the property staff. He came onto the site and was openly violent to the staff members around the communal areas. After this incident he was stumbling around extremely drunk (around midday) and despite repeatedly asking different staff members who assured us he was being escorted out, this did not happen. As a result we felt quite unsafe and uncomfortable in the communal areas of the property. There was also thumping club music played from around 4pm through to 2am which basically made the communal areas unusable in the evening and prevented us accessing the camp fire which had been a real selling point on my last visit.
Pros: We used the twin safari tent. The beds were very comfortable and the room very clean. The showers and washrooms were also very clean and water was hot ☺️ The staff are also very friendly, particularly Harriet (the manager/owner) and Peterson who really helped us since we arrived very late. The area is quite cold at night but campfires and great company kept us warm
Cons: Having another washroom area near the opposite end of the tents would be very helpful
Pros: Fabulous host, colourful and rustic
Cons: Bit noisy
Pros: Everything was perfect. The staff was really friendly. The breakfast was perfect And iT was a good place to hang all day.

Pros: Very clean, comfortable. The included breakfast was quite sizeable and enjoyable. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Cons: Water from shower partially flooded the bathroom, my only complaint. But there is a drain on the floor.
Pros: Central and convenient for local amenities. Friendly staff who went out of their way to assist. Excellent value for money.
Cons: Strange room configuration, spacious but closely linked to another room.
Pros: All are perfect. Location, bed, bathroom, staff.....all like what I expected.Perfect stay
Pros: Great value for money, clean and tidy. Staff and food were great!
Pros: Super friendly and helpful staff.
Pros: Good room, convenient location for work and getting around town. Excellent hot shower
Cons: Breakfast was lacklustre, as was the service. The were no extra facilities at the hotel.
Pros: My friend had an amazing stay for 3 nights at the Virunga Hotel. The staff were very welcoming and hospitable. Frank was very helpful in planning our trip to the Volcanoes National Park and guiding us to the best activities. Pros: Very friendly, quiet and clean. Nice restaurant for dinner and breakfast. They even made us a sack lunch for our Mt. Bisoke hike. I highly recommend this place for Mt. Bisoke hiking or gorilla/golden monkey trekking!
Pros: Central new hotel owned by the Anglican Church with most of the facilities you would want - comfortable bed, well-furnished room, wi-fi, TV (but only two channels, one in French one in Kinyarwanda) and friendly staff, although given that there were only a small handful of guests there were times when the reception was unmanned.
Cons: There is no bar, though I knew this in advance. My only gripe was perhaps the breakfast which looked like what was left over from the day before, no staff to assist, and omelettes only if you waited half an hour. On my second day I went to the adorable coffee shop, Migano, a hundred yards away and had a full English with excellent coffee.
Pros: The hotel is walking distance to the bus terminal and to down town. The staff was very nice and friendly, the place was very clean and the breakfast was good. The beds were also comfortable. The place is located about half an hour by Motorbike from the entrance to Volcanoes National Park.
Pros: Set just off the main road tucked away a little bit Nice garden area Great staff Decent wifi Good breakfast
Cons: Lots of noise coming from Police College next door
Pros: Good breakfast, will make whatever you'd like egg wise. The best part about the place were the bed sheets, and the fact that the staff would do ANYTHING I needed help with. They even went so far as to put money on my Sim Card.
Cons: The property is nothing too special, but it does provide privacy.
Pros: Nice big bed. Mosquito net provided. Allowed us to borrow a hairdryer after we got soaked on our hike.
Cons: The doors to the rooms are not soundproof so you can hear EVERYTHING in the empty tiled corridor. Someone was watching a video in reception so I couldn’t sleep and I woke up every time someone went to their room or spoke in reception or the corridor. In the morning you could hear the Police doing their drills in the academy next door. The guy checking us out said there was a 2.5% card fee and proceeded to explain that this was why he had multiplied our final bill by 25%(!)

Pros: The staff was lovely.
Cons: I was unable to pay my bill with my credit card because the web went down during a rainstorm. Despite the fact that the weather was not my fault, I was not allowed to defer payment until I returned to Kigali where I work, and there is more dependable WI-FI. In fact, I was then required to be driven to Musanze where I could not get cash at two different ATM's, also due to storm-induced failure of WI-FI. UGH!!
Pros: Staff and dancers and location
Cons: Rooms need renovations

Cons: The food was ok
Pros: Breakfast was good. Room was small but clean, bathroom very small but had plenty of hot water.

Pros: The staff are always happy to see me. Location is ideal
Cons: The room needed cleaning. Orders from the kitchen take far too long
Pros: The staffs are very nice.
Cons: The food was not good. Be it breakfast or dinner.
Pros: Rooms were large and beds comfortable. We were able to have breakfast at 6am as our money trekking started at 7. Pool and gardens were beautiful
