7.9 Good
Pros: A very comfortable hotel in a Georgian townhouse, with generous rooms and high ceilings. Excellent breakfast, modern menu with the best fruit salad I can remember having - full of unusual berries. Location also excellent - beautiful street of Georgian houses, opposite the Castle and within easy walking distance of a great restaurant. Our stay was on a Saturday night, and our room at the front of the hotel. Nonetheless it was wonderfully quiet and peaceful all night.
Cons: There was a problem with our bathroom which should have been dealt with before our arrival. There appeared to be no manager on duty, though the staff present were very friendly and helpful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location, brilliantly friendly and helpful staff, comfy rooms and delicious breakfast- especially the porridge! Just to reiterate - the staff and owners were so helpful - couldn’t recommend highly enough.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: If your steps lead you to Birr, this is the location where to stay! A fully renovated Victorian house located next to the original entrance of the Castle, beautiful room, very high ceiling, the venue is really great. The staff we met the next morning very friendly and obviously pet lovers. Breakfast was very good and nicely presented. We loved the individual water heating system for the shower. a great way to save energy. We do recommend the Stables townhouse.
Cons: Nothing
9.0 Excellent

Cons: Everything was great!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very pleasant staff
Cons: Bed was too small at 4ft6
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice place to stay. Older style. Great breakfast.
7.0 Good
Pros: The staff were very friendly, the room and bathroom looked nice, tea/coffee making included. The location was super, with the castle just across the road and the town center just a few minutes walk away. Parking is on the road right outside, which is still in a 'free parking' area of the town (move a street or 2 away and it's pay & display, so mind where you park!)
Cons: The bed's mattress was a little 'tired', so could have been more comfortable. Wasn't mad about having to go downstairs in the morning to get milk to make a cup of tea, however, I did prefer that than being stuck with UHT milk. The breakfast was okay, but I've had better. Also, I prefer a buffet style, where you pick what you'd like, rather than being served a standard one and the selection of fruit was quite limited. However, the above would comments would not stop me visiting again.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The loveliest of hostesses, we absolutele loved our stay with Margaret and will definitely come again. Our only regret was that we didn't stay for longer. Margaret allowed us have the dog in the room, and gave us a super recommendation for dinner in the neighbouring town. She also allowed our 7 yr old daughter play with a dolls' house which made her day! Breakfast was perfect with cereal, home made scones, apples off her own tree and gorgeous boiled eggs. There were lovely walks near by along the canal.
6.7 Good
Pros: The beds! We've slept amazingly well. Also the quiteness of the location. The springwater of her own well. The size of the big room. How clean it was. The room lacks a cozy touch but it is very functional as a bedroom.
Cons: First she tried to give us the cheap room while we paid for the expensive one. We were the only guests so I have a hard time believing that she was mistaken. Second she led us straight to the room and never showed us the kitchen or said we could use it. When I asked about breakfast she simply said 'I don't do that anymore' and didn't say anything about making tea or coffee or use the fridge or anything. She only gave us a bottle of springwater in the room. It felt quite unwelcome and in the morning we left without eating or drinking anything. I keep hoping that she had a temporal condition as a reason for this. The price for just two good beds was too high in my opinion.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Margaret was so friendly and accommodating. She went above and beyond to help.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Margaret the hostess was very welcoming.

7.9 Good
Pros: Lovely hotel, great breakfast. Rooms were lovely and comfortable. Good value for money
Cons: Nothing, all was good
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The bed was comfortable.
Cons: This hotel is filthy. On arriving at 2.30pm, there was half full glasses strewn around the front of the hotel from the night before. Some were still there when we left the next day. The reception desk area hasn't seen a sweeping brush or vacuum cleaner in quite a while. The bar/restaurant area is not nice. When we went for breakfast it stank. The breakfast itself was nice. We came from an actual 4 star hotel the night before to this "4 star hotel" and the difference was night and day. The Racket Hall should really struggle to get 3 stars.
7.9 Good
Pros: The location was perfect, the grounds superb. The interior decoration was capital and the room was very comfortable.
Cons: The experience would be almost perfect if the room was given a thorough checking to fine detail. Such detail includes dusting around picture frames (quite noticeable); filling empty soap dispenser in shower, and make sure toilet paper is readily available.

7.5 Good
Pros: The staff was friendly and the Bed was comfortable.
Cons: The room was cold for two out of three nights, and the my room was right next door to the night club that went on until two in the morning. The description about the night club is misleading, If they hadn`t rented the rooms out that are RIGHT next door to it would have been better..
