Beds were comfy food was fantastic especially all day breakfast cooked to order. The views were special especially sunset. The hotel grounds are immaculately kept and it feels incredibly tranquil.
The bathroom sometimes smelt of drains in the evening and night time. They could offer poolside service
The staff were all so lovely, location was probably one of the best on the island, beach was small but very quiet and lovely to swim.
Breakfast was lovely but wish it had been a buffet so you could have smaller portions of more than one thing. Ground floor room was very damp. Apparently that is normal in all hotels on the island.
The beach is bad, its not there when the tide is high so you cant go for a walk along the beach. When the tide is low you can go for a walk but its really boring. Its full of rocks and an old dead coral reef. Everything else is fantastic. The welcome in the reception, the room (stayed in a pool access room), the staff all around, the sweet gartner who took time to make fun for our kids, everybody at the restaurant, the all-day breakfast is genius especially with kids, you just go and order what ever you want at the time that suits you. The no limit pool towels, the happy hour at sunset, The gym with fruit and water and I can continue. Stayed there for 10 days with two kids age 1 and 4 and we could easily had taken 10 more days. The town is not that fantastic. The elephant camp looks horrible and not like a nice place to be an elephant, the restaurants in town are mostly “sit in the concrete floor in our garage, noicy food court style”. We did like the mexican El Barrio so much we went twice. Would have gone there more if they had a proper kids menu. The restaurant at the Chill is fine but very expensive. To compare a glass of apple juice cost around 2,5 EUR at a restaurant in Denmark costed 3,6 EUR at The Chill. (Denmark has one of the worlds highest tax rates and a high minimum salary which impacts the prices). We went on a horrible snorkling trip booked at the lady on the street close to Awa. There are only dead corals and very less fish to see. Maybe the better boat you can book via the chill gives a better trip. If I could move the Chill to the Koh Lanta area I would come back... but I am not going back to Koh Chang.
The beach, the staff at the giftshop and libery were cranky and not friendly at all.
The staff were all very polite and courteous. The pool area and sunbeds were lovely. I liked the bed lounger on the large balcony. Hardly any mosquitos! Trees and green areas were really well kept. All in all a lovely quiet resort where you can relax.
Beach area a little small. Food expensive in the hotel restaurant. Spa prices for massage etc far too expensive. The location was ok but you really need transport to go exploring during the day and/or evening. No notification that modifications were gping to be done in the gym. The room was tight as regards to wardrobe/clothing space.
perfect in every way
a bit expensive. But all worth it
