Ko Chang hotels

Pros: Very beautiful and clean place right at the beach. A bit of luxury and thai feeling. The beach is clean and beautiful also, good for swimming. Feels like a paradise. Quiet and relaxed place. Friendly staff, lovely breakfast. I just loved the place! I'm sure you cant find a better place on the island. Amazing! Worth the price.

Cons: A bit of distance to the center, but it wasnt a problem for us because we wanted to be on the silent part and had a scooter to go around with.

Pros: Excellent bay resort with all the conditions we expected and some more (e.g. large swimming pool). Super clean house and restaurant, helpful staff. The resort is surrounded by wonderful nature.

Cons: The free shutter bus (every 30 minutes) went only to the nearest small settlement, and not to White Sand Beach town (further 3 km), which was a plus (costy and hard) ride on pick-up taxi to reach the nearest restaurant and shopping area.

Pros: Close to a private beach and very serene.

Cons: The pillows were not of a good quality and fir two people, four pillows should be provided.

Pros: Little Sunshine was a great find. We paid about the same as another place on the Island but were a lot happier here. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the proximity to the beach was fantastic. We loved it so much we stayed for an extra night. The accomodation is part of a larger development with similarly styled buildings. You can wander along the beach to find a pier on the other side of an isthmus that is teeming with fish and find colourful butterflies in the trees on the way there. More than I had ever seen in the wild before! Beware of sandflies though I reacted to their bites and was very itchy for a few days. They were only biting on the beach though and mainly close to piles of seashells. This resort is away from the main beach/town on the island but we had our own vehicle so no issue.

Cons: Sandflies, but they were only in certain areas of the beach not in the resort area. There was litter on the beach too but a team went out each morning to collect it so that was good to see. That's a global problem anyway. Our room was a little musty smelling when we first went in but windows open up wide so it was easy to let fresh air in. Maybe the airconditioners could be serviced to prevent the smell? I'm not sure.

Pros: Good over all but the place a little bit away from the center of Koh Chang

Cons: Water in the shower could definitely be warmer but was nothing for us we would critisize. If we want to be picky the Pool could need some new joints between the tiles.

Pros: I had an amazing time at this hostel, met some awesome people here too. The pool was amazing and walking distance to the beach for sunset. I did first booked my stay for 2 nights and ended up extended my stay for a week. Will be back again next time when I'm in Koh Chang. One of the most beautiful and layback hostel/hotel in Thailand.

Cons: Everything was good. Expect the big group of thai people during the weekend.

Pros: Very good breakfast, about 8 main courses for your choice and buffet breakfast in nearby Restaurant You will need to go through a long bridge to a beach, but it is pretty close. You can use her PS2 on a very big Smart TV. Very clean swimming pool. Everything you need from a shared kitchen. Clean rooms. Good safe in a room. The staff is always ready to help you with advice.

Cons: The design of rooms seems to us to simple for such price per night, we were expecting better conditions. The TV in a room is nearly not useful. We were expecting more engaging activities in a hostel, but for 8 days were organized only 2 activities

Pros: The hotel/hostel was very clean and cozy and the staff was friendly and helpful. The area was very nice and quiet, within an easy driving distance from shops and restaurants. Would definitely recommend!

Cons: The breakfast was alright, but a little more variety (e.g. fresh veggies such as tomato and cucumber) would have been nice.

Pros: The stuff was very friendly and helpful. The dorms where nice with comfortable bed. The pool was very clean and I used it a couple of times to cool down. They have free water to refill or bottles to buy. The restaurant next door is delivering to the hostel which came in handy. The beach is just a 2 minutes walk away where you can find some restaurants and bars, usually as part of some resort. You can rent scooters at the hostel which I did. Most important is the very nice vibe this hostel has. I met a group of people there and we spend a couple of day scootering the island, playing cards at night and having some cocktails or beer together. The social area is what this hostel makes. You'll find families with kids here, so it's not a party place. I loved their two cats and the dog who always wants your attention.

Cons: It was loud in the rooms with AC and fen turned on at night. You should bring earplugs what I did so I had no problems falling asleep. It would be nice to have lockable doors in the shower.

Pros: Staff are nice to people, warm-hearted service. Nice pool design connected with all the 1st floor rooms. Very good breakfast provided by the sea view.

Pros: Gorgeous hotel. So peaceful, fantastic pool, friendly welcoming staff. We really loved our time here!

Cons: Couldn’t really use the beach as it’s very rocky, but the infinity pool overlooks it and if you go down to white sands beach you can have a nice swim in the sea. Some more information from reception would be helpful. A couple of times we weren’t given the best advice/misinformation but this may be a language barrier. Overall it was truly excellent and we’d love to stay again.

Pros: We loved our room right off the pool. As a swimmer, the pool was long enough to get a good swim in. The option of the gym was nice. The view at sunset incredible. Beds and pillows very comfortable. Staff very friendly. It was also nice to be able to walk out the front and to many restaurants

Pros: The staff is so kind and friendly. we came here for my boyfriend’s birthday and we talked with the staff from the restaurant and we mentioned that really quickly. The day of his birthday, they all came with a cake made by the chef, singing Happy birthday!!

Pros: Impeccable service by superb staff, beautiful location, magical atmosphere, good food and nice wine, breakfast a la carte until 21:00. Library and spa. Nice pool and a swing by the shore of the ocean. Restaurant on the white sand beach.

Cons: Very humid in the room, cosmetic maintenance is needed. We booked a room with access to the pool but the pool was too shallow to swim and fit only for children. When making a reservation please make sure that you have access to the pool deep enough ( there are several options of rooms with pool access). No fresh juice for breakfast.

Pros: Loved the private pool, it was our own Oasis and we soaked up every minute of it. The room was beautiful, clean, spacious and most important we had the most exquisite sleep on the most divine mattress and most comfortable pillows. After 6 weeks of travel in SE Asia and mostly hard as rock mattresses, this was heaven. The breakfast buffet was yummy, a good variation from one day to the next. The staff were extremely personable and attentive, they would go above and beyond to make sure that our holiday was something we wouldn't forget. The resort is beautiful, a lot of dining choices as well as the ability to walk off site to eat, took about 15 minutes to walk to the main road and there are also a few places along the beach within 5 minutes of the resort. We would definitely return and stay here again (as long as we got a sunny villa!)

Cons: We rented the Hideway Private Pool villa and while lovely, our first villa/pool was in total shade for the whole day. Some may like this, but I worship the sun. They were able to move us the following day to a sunnier location but I think it would have been beneficial to be able to rent one with sun during the booking process. To me it would even be worth paying more $$$ to be guaranteed a sunny pool and patio upon arrival.

Pros: Great breakfast with an amazing view. Hideaway villas have decent pools and privacy which we really enjoyed. Lots of bedchairs and several other pools. Good food in the restaurant and not extortionately expensive. Lovely to sit and eat beachside. The town is less than 15 minutes walk and there is a free shuttle too. Nice quiet clean beach (when exposed). Overall we had a great stay and the hideaway villas are good value for what you pay but there were flaws as below.

Cons: Soundproofing in the villas isn’t very good so we could hear lots of outside noise, especially staff in the early mornings who congregated at the back of us (despite having made a polite request to reception that they didn’t do so). There was construction going on too which didn’t seem very sensible in high season plus there was also a bar somewhere that we could hear that was noisy until 1am. Beach access can be very limited depending on the tides. For several hours either side of High tide the beach is covered so you are a bit trapped.

Pros: The breakfast was excellent, we liked the music being played nice touch, great location. we loved it and will be back ASAP

Pros: Amazing design of the room, comfortable bed, clean big private pool, bathtube on a balcony Lovely bathroom with good water pressure, 3 towels pro person, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, sewing set, maybe I forgot something, I just din't miss anything Bathrobe, slippers, beach flip flops, umbrellas, beach bag provided. Hotel beach was clean, enough sunbeds and umbrellas for everybody. Free beach towels. Shower on the beach. You can borrow paddle boat or kayak from hotel free of charge. Breakfast was amazing, with big choice of european and asian food. Staff brings you coffee (also capuccino or late) or tea to your table. Live music at breakfast. Nice outdoor swimming pool with warm water. Staff was very polite and helpful, ready to solve problems. We have become cold tea and wet towels at check in and also vouchers for welcome drink in hotel restaurant. Hotels organizes evening programme with live music and dance performace practicaly every day. Good minibar (though expensive), fridge big enough also for your own staff. Good electronic safe Practically no mosqitos thanks to use of lemongrass aromatic oil in hotel.

Cons: Services (laundry, minibar, spa) very expensive just like hotel restaurants - guests just go to eat/ have a drink or massage to restaurants on the beach right or left from the hotel Water in our private pool was too cold for me, somehow it wasn't possible to set it - staff was apologizing for that Hotel is situated 10 minutes walk from the main street, but hotel offers free shuttle bus a few times a day Klong Prao has limited choice of shops and restaurants, it is ok for a week, but for a longer holiday you should choose another place

Pros: Amazing place. If you are looking for quiet and nice holidays it is the best place! The staff is amazing always ready to help. The place is wonderful. We had the best time of our holidays there! Also the breakfast is amaziiiiiing!

Pros: The room looked amazing, everything was like we imagined. The food was good, the included breakfast is delicious and definitely worth it. The location is calm and perfect to disconnect, the beach in front of the hotel is clean (the surroundings were not due to flooding before we arrived). The little bar/restaurant next to the hotel is really a plus, offering good quality at low prices (same for the very small massage shop).

Cons: The hotel is far from the main road and there are not so many shuttles, but it's enough if you don't want to go to the city everyday. The location, in the middle of the jungle, makes it the perfect place for mosquitos, so be ready and bring your mosquito repellent. The room looks good, but the wooden looks makes it hard to close the doors completely, so the mosquitos and other beasts can easily get in. The problem would be solved by offering proper mosquito nets, particularly around the bed to make sure to have a peaceful night. The prices at the hotel are not Thai standard, but it's easy to go around it by going to any other place around for food or just shopping. These things didn't make our overall stay less good, we really enjoyed it, but they can for sure be improved in the future.

Pros: This property is spotless and so very welcoming . The pool is fantastic The staff was incredible They went out of there way to make sure our stay was over the top. Nok and her staff very very helpful The only question is when can we return?

Pros: The staff are all exceptional. They create a very memorable and positive vibe around the Dewa. Location is good. Dewa hotel is on a beautiful wide, white sand beach. In de evening the beach is transformed to restaurants together with the next door hotels. Rooms are comfortable, very nice design of the bathroom. Breakfast very good. We rented a motorbike on the first day which is essential to explore Koh Chang and also be able to go out of the hotel in the evenings.

Cons: The airconditioning was quite loud. When we asked for a fan instead of using the a/c at night, this came a surprise to the staff. However they offered us the fan that used to operate at the reception desk. Very kind of them. Maybe they should just keep some spare fans in stock for those that prefer to sleep without a noisy a/c and want to wake up without blocked sinuses in the morning. We never had dinner in the hotel as it was quite pricy and had a weird white table cloths ambiance. Also we never saw many other guests eating there in the evening. There are plenty of good restaurants nearby. However it has a good potential so maybe invest in a new restaurant concept..

Pros: I love the grill buffet which offered every Wednesday and Saturday evening. Seafood was really fresh. The staffs are very friendly. Great location like a hidden gem of Ko Chang. It was so quiet.

Pros: Beautiful setting. The staff were amazing so helpful and friendly they invited us to their annual hotel staff party and provided a surprising birthday cake and song by the staff for my partner. The bungalow was facing the beach and the internal design and decoration were stunning.Everything was so clean and in good order. Highly recommended.

Pros: Very good breakfast, continental but also few warm local dishes to choose from and a lot of fresh fruits. The dishes from lunch/dinner menu were very good as well. We had a beach front hut which I can only recommend. The room and bathroom were spacious and clean. The biggest plus was the part of the beach adjacent to the hotel which was in my opinion the prettiest part in that localisation. I can also recommend taking massage at the hotel massage spot situated directly at the beach. The staff there and in the whole object was very nice and professional.

Pros: Location was excellent for Koh Chang, quieter street seen, beautiful beach, bath water warm. Hotel breakfasts were good with a good variety of food. We found the hotel restaurant food too all be excellent, slightly higher priced than some street restaurants but better quality. The pool is small but awesome, the staff are very helpful and pretty laid back and do not hassle you about anything. Little market and 7-11 just up the street. Scooter rental from the hotel was seamless and very cheap, 250 baht/day, no scams for damage etc.

Cons: The beds are firm in the extreme. Pillows also. Bungalows by the road will experience some road noise although it quiets down pretty well at night.

Cons: Not much to do nearby hotel. After first day cleaning we found out the staff took a bag of snacks we hadn't even opened yet. After laundry we found out one shirt was missing. The aircondition was leaking water. After all these complaints we had no apologies or explanations whatsoever. On our own request we got another room because the airconditiong was not working properly at night.

Cons: The hotel is in the middle of nowhere...need to drive to restaurants or 7-eleven. Our room toilet doesn't flush properly. The pool is a bit too deep for me. (5'2 & can't swim)

Pros: The breakfast was okay. Location is quite good if you want to explore the island. But you will need to hire a scooter. With a scooter it is perfect to see both sides of the island (east and west). Accommodation is clean and comfortable (air con available). There is a shuttle but to the white sand beach which drives only a few times. If you need a shutte at another time it is 300 bht.

Pros: The room was good, the bed was very comfortable, we had views across the swimming pool, the staff were very friendly and helpful, my face got swollen due to an allergic reaction and the owner took me to hospital and picked me up free of charge and also took us back to the ferry terminal free of charge, great service

Pros: The facilities in the room. It had everything we might need: sleepers, robe, umbrella, beach towels with a bag to carry them, confortable bed and even elephant towels waiting for us. The view from the room was amazing! The prices of mini bar and room service are very reasonable. We've stayed in more expensive resorts that didn't have all this.

Pros: Everything! What a stunning resort. The views are incredible, staff are extremely helpful and willing to please (I asked about a problem with the air conditioning and it was fixed before we got back from lunch!)(They helped organize us transport whenever we needed) , breakfast was first class, the fire show every night is definitely something to see, location being right on a beautiful beach was perfect and being in between White Sands and Lonely Beach made going out easy!

Pros: The staff was super friendly! The resort feels very intimate and the houses are practically on the beach! We got a free upgrade from the standard room to the superior room, without even asking. And we really loved the resort and accommodation. The sandflies everyone writes about are not that annoying when you just buy deet at a 7/11 for 75 baht (€2,30) which will help you for an entire week of sand flies and mosquito free. We didn’t experience them at all. Klong Prao beach is a great beach with the most beautiful sunset and the people staying there were also very quiet, so we enjoyed reading many books on their free sun beds! If you rent a scooter, you’re very quickly at whitesand beach (15-20 minutes) and the most south of the island (30-40 minutes). There are some restaurants on walking distance outside the resort that are great to go to. Like the hotpot right outside the resort, or Goya cafe which is just 15 minutes walking. That street has many restaurants you can try. The massages were great! I find massages in Thailand a bit too painful normally, but klong Prao beach resort also provide softer (oil) massages right on the beach. The breakfast was great, nothing extremely great, and relatively very Asian, but it was well managed and fresh! We really enjoyed our stay at klong Prao beach resort. Thanks a lot for our 8 days stay!

Cons: I can’t think of anything. If I should mention something, we’ll.. it would have been nice to have something else than Jelly for on the sandwiches (meat, cheese, hummus etc). But that’s just a minor thing.

Pros: We’ve had an amazing stay! The location is great, it’s near nice little towns, which are easy to reach by motorcycle or taxi. The private beach is beautiful and clean. There is enough space to relax (on the beach or at the pool). Pool is clean, nice bar in the middle. Breakfast buffet was outstanding! Lots of choice, tasteful Thai and European food. Nice place to enjoy it aswell. Diningroom at the beach is also beautiful, food is very good and the fireshow in the evening is a nice way of entertainment. Room was also great, we had a luxurious room at the pool and walking distance to the beach. Very nice bed and bathroom. Staff was really nice and friendly. They wanted to help where needed, always with a big smile. I celebrated my birthday and they surprised me with a birthdaycake and sang me a song! It was do nice!

Pros: I had a pool villa which was spacious, well designed and private. The resort is small and relatively new, nestled amongst trees on the shore of the sea. It's a pretty relaxing place to be. Plunge pool was nice, got sun and shade at different times of the day and had a great view over the rooftops of the beach villas down to the sea from a couple of loungers on the terrace. Villa was well equipped, bathroom nice, shower hot and powerful. Location was good, it is near enough to the nightlife but far enough away from the noise. The area is quite good if you want a drink or 2 after dinner through to a long night out. You have enough restaurants and bars in the village to entertain yourself, but it is a long and winding journey from the top of the island down to the resort. Staff were really friendly and keen to help. Breakfast was good enough to start the day. Room were cleaned well. Overall a great place, I would stay again.

Cons: The only weak point in this hotel are breakfasts - only from menu, white toast bread, small portions, very poor choice, especially for those, who are allergic to eggs. Also only 2 people from staff, so when more guests came for breakfast, chaos came also. Swedish buffet for reflection.

Cons: We ran out of water to brush our teeth in on the morning we were checking out and reception charged us 60 baht. Considering the price we had paid for the room we found this petty. The grass area that our room overlooked was not maintained.

Pros: Easy check in and payment. Easy access into resort from road, and from resort down to the beach. The common restaurant with the adjacent resort was great. The beach is relatively secluded from other resorts in the area. The rooms and beds were absolutely HUGE. Great bathroom, even two sinks. Great shower very good pressure and temprature adjustment. Comfortable, fully equipped room and even complimentary water.

Pros: Big nice room. Beach and breakfast belong to Klong Prao Resort which was a short walk away through a way over the water. Breakfast very good with lots of different choices.

Cons: I fear the room has bed bugs. My sister and I are full of bed bug bites, which is terrible. We only noted it once we were back in Bangkok, so not 100% it was from this hotel but we guess so.

Pros: Lovely, luxurious comfortable rooms and a great pool. Access to all the facilities of their sister resort on the beach - it's a 10min walk but really gave us the best of both worlds. Overall highly recommended

Cons: Staff were a little abrupt and tried to charge us for a bathrobe which had never been provided on check-out. Note that there is a deposit of 1000 baht payable in cash on check in - they do not accept any other method of payment for that

Pros: Hotels was great especially price vs value. As well we liked beach much more than "White beach" as there was too many people. We traveled with kids as used 2 rooms connected super comfy and there is privacy.

Pros: Everything good as always

Cons: Swimming pool was under construction, so had very noisy on the beach sometimes

Pros: All arouse the resort 1) The resort have make vegetable hygienic by her self for salad 2) Location is nice all arouse 3) Room is nice and good view 4) Service is nice communication and smiley

Cons: 1) I am the customer in this resort in the last 28 year and go there 2-3 time holiday per year but i never get discount and social class offer 2) The deposit money 2,000 baht for property in advance ( I not accept and not pay )

Pros: The resort is a true resort. You can turn up and never need to leave for ANYTHING. The breakfast is outstanding and there a great options for other meals. We booked a snorkelling trip through the resort and the boat pulled up on the beach. We travelled with 11 and 8 year old daughters - they loved the pool, the tram up the hill and especially the Pizza Workshop.

Cons: Having to leave :(

Pros: Great room with amazing sea view and a lot of space, Even from the shower and bathroom you can see the ocean. Super hotel in the middle of Nature. Fully recommendable!

Cons: Nothing

Pros: The hotel is beautiful, specifically the location at the hill. I can recommend going into the rainforest spa. That was extraordinary.

Cons: A downer was the construction site close to the beach, which was quite noisy, when I was there.
