Pros: Everything was amazing. It far exceeded my expectations. The staff was overly accomodating and always available. The food was perfect!

Cons: If I had one complaint, I wish it was more lively in the evening. There was live music every other night, that was it. Nothing for teenagers/young adults to do. Too old for the teen room.

Pros: The service across the board was above and beyond expectations. All of the staff was extremely friendly and willing to help ensure our stay was fantastic.

Cons: Occasionally services would be a bit slower than expected, and before we started using the do not disturb door hanger, we were getting a few too many knocks, but we were able to remedy this.

Pros: The friendliness and enthusiasm of the staff were excellent. The bed was comfortable. Pool staff were excellent. Beach was lovely. Sunsets were amazing.

Cons: We have stayed at Grand Velas Riviera Maya and that was by far a superior property. Facilities here are not as nice. Service in the restaurants was quite poor. Staff would often bring wrong drinks and we would have to constantly ask for refills of all beverages. Very few people in the restaurants when we were there and still lots of confusion. All activities off property were a good distance away so not super convenient to leave to do other things without being gone a whole day. The only “adult” pool is an oversized hot tub that is too hot to spend much time in on warm days. The pebbles used in walkways and stairs around pool as decorative elements are quite painful and dangerous to walk on in bare feet and difficult to avoid.

Cons: Internet does not work and staff was not attentive. hotel changed room when we checked in to a smaller room than we booked (and paid for).

Pros: The food you would even want to pay for if it wasn't all inclusive. The service was unbelievable. It also comes included with a beach front property right down the street. It's really quiet and peaceful. We had an amazing time!!!!

Pros: The staff at this resort are the best you will experience. Person after person went beyond the call of duty from the restaurants to the pool bar to the reception staff. Size of the resort made it so easy to get around.

Cons: Our room did not have one comfortable chair in it. In past years we had a couch but this room had only 2 cane dining room type chairs.

Pros: Boutique nature of resort equates to large availability for cabanas and pool chairs. Food & drink were outstanding. WIFI was great throughout the resort.

Cons: The base room was one of the smallest we have ever had in any hotel; We felt it was necessary to upgrade rooms resulting in added costs we did not plan on.

Pros: Most of the facilities were really nice. The pool area was excellent and the food was good. The staff was incredibly helpful, particularly because we were celebrating our birthdays. 5-star staff.

Cons: I didn't like the lack of immediate access to the beach. Further, I didn't like the private pool area set up at all. There was no way to access the pool directly from back patio. I also didn't like the fact that it was an all-inclusive yet I was presented with a bill for almost everything. I was never quite sure if something was extra, or not. That was really annoying.

Pros: Excellent all around. Impeccable attention to detail. Calm, relaxing, just perfect for a work conference location. Highly recommend it. Would return anytime. Great staff. Love it. Near all. Perfect.

Pros: Karina, the manager, and the entire staff were truly professional and just wanted us to enjoy our vacation. By the way, definitely don't forget to make it to the Ocean Club, and if you're staying for 5 nights, you'll get to try a restaurant at the Grand Velas; don't miss it!

Ive eaten far better at other far more affordable places in Mexico Overall For the price the hotel does not live upto its 5 Doinand rating. The very steep price did not dekiver an excellent experience. Lots of gaps in some levels of service While service in general was good. The conceirge was not. Lost my reservations for dinner on our last night. Ended up earting at ab awful Italian restaurent pool side. Christmas eve. It was a nightmare.

Pros: The resort was amazing. The staff went above and beyond to take care of every need. The view from the private balcony hot tub was breath taking. The food at each of the restaurants was amazing. Our favorite meal was ceviche on the beach. The water is clear, warm, and the paddle boards and kayaking are free. Snorkeling in the national park is a must! Just a 40 minute kayak trip away.

Cons: I can't think of anything to complain about.

Pros: We got the best room at the hotel top floor and with a perfect view of the city and beach also mountain the service was just perfect the food everything was just what we wish for could be happier by picking this hotel if you plan on going you won't go wrong Picking this hotel!

Pros: Service is top notch, the setting is stunning high up in mountains, very secluded and obviously the pool is phenomenal. The suite with jacuzzi was so relaxing, great size room everything was pretty perfect, gym is also amazing I've never enjoyed going a gym so much. I also found prices of food and drink not too expensive considering the luxury of it, the room rate was high though.

Cons: I am struggling to think of anything, maybe it felt like was more suited for couples, I wanted and to relax on own but the hotel very much has a couples vibe, it's far from downtown also so not great if you wanted to explore.

Pros: Hotel Mousai is a great hotel for vacation. Great staff, very friendly and helpful. People in general are friendly and eager to help and talk about their city. Always they ask that you come back for vacation ! Very clean, not only in the rooms but the outside also. Again great place for vacation!

Cons: The beach is very small and rocky, hard to go in and out of the water, not good for snorkeling! However the beach staff is friendly and ready to satisfy all the needs one has.

Pros: Breakfast was excellent, staff was beyond amazing...everyone!!! at the reception area, everyone!!! at the Terrace restaurant where I had breakfast every day, the way staff was always smiling and greeting you and trying to be helpful.

Cons: Constant noise of the ongoing construction from 8am to 6pm---every business day. That severely impacted my ability to use the hot tub or even enjoy at all my beautiful room terrace.

Cons: Paid for a king bed. Was given a queen. Woke up every morning by an accidental phone call from the front desk. Cleaning people came in our room unannounced while we were sleeping and woke us up again.

Pros: Everything about this place is so beautiful. You definitely do not have to leave, everything you need is at the hotel/ resort.

Cons: We had a couple hiccups regarding our room when we first arrived but they were easily resolved

Pros: We had a great stay at Garlands del Rio, the staff were very friendly and made our stay comfortable. When we requested to move to a different room, from the first floor to the top, they made that possible and very easy. The property is beautiful, there’s a kitchen and fridge where you could bring in your own food and cook. The pool is very clean and beautifully designed. It’s close to great places and centrally located. Thank you to all the staff who made our stay very pleasant. We’d definitely be back!

Cons: The pool, although beautifully designed, is in the middle of foot traffic of people entering and leaving the property.

Pros: Very good eclectic style, view to the river, private balcony. Swimming pool and social areas are perfect.

Cons: Our reservation included breakfast, at the property they explained to us that if we order anything additional to our included breakfast we had to pay an additional full price breakfast which we found unfair. The included breakfast is small but good, the missing part is protein. So take and informed decision and do not opt for included breakfast, instead pay at the property for full breakfast. Location: the hotel is located in downtown “recovering area” does not feel safe at night.

Pros: We loved this character filled boutique hotel in the south side of Puerto Vallarta. You enter through a black door that looks a bit like a garage door into this gorgeous oasis by the river. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the location was great. A short walk to the beach and restaurants.

Cons: The air conditioner was a bit noisy.

Pros: Beautiful B&B walking distance to the shopping and dining. Gorgeous view of the river and greenery

Cons: The only thing I didn’t like was all the mosquitoes, but it’s quite inevitable since the weather was humid and hot. Nothing to do with the staff or B&B.

Pros: Great river views, clean and beautiful rooms, lovely staff, very attentive and helpful. We keep coming back to this place every chance we get.

Pros: Great location along the river in what feels like a very safe, local neighborhood. Quick walks to the local markets, beaches, malecon, great street food, shopping etc. I think it might be the best location for someone who wants to see the less tourist driven areas of PV. The hotel is eclectic in a very romantic way. It feels intimate and you could easily make friends with both the staff and the other guests at the small pool and honor system bar. We would stay again in a heart beat.

Pros: I stayed here my first two nights in Puerto Vallarta and would have stayed the entire week if it weren’t totally booked. My room (one of the smallest and cheapest here) was spacious, comfortable, clean, and beautiful. The staff are so kind and helpful. The location is very close to the beach and a few restaurants, shops, pharmacies...

Pros: The room was one of a kind - fantastic! Staff wonderful and very helpful. Great location.

Pros: The staff was great! Martha, Israel and Cristina were really great and helpful with every question/need we had during our stay. The room was really huge and they even set up a matching little bed for our toddler with safe rails and all.

Pros: It was clean and staff are friendly

Cons: I was offer to upgrade to a room with a view which I appreciated but they didn’t tell me that I was located right next to stairs and an elevator. It was very noise with people walking and it echoed hard to sleep, also I was right next the staff lien closet and you can always hear them talking and opening the door and very early times of the morning. Our sleep was interrupted many times throughout our stay there. Just honk he should have told me. I paid extra to move and I probably won’t have if I knew the location of the room.

Pros: The grounds are lovely and the staff is great. The access to the beach is a real bonus. Senate at all three restaurants and the food was a cut above what I had initially expected, especially the breakfasts. The rooms are a little Spartan, but honestly very comfortable and extremely clean.

Cons: There is no real bar. People hang at the pool all day and they serve drinks in the lobby and restaurants at night, but there isn't a regular bar anywhere on property. Given the amount of alcohol the staff has to run and get (even delivering to rooms) it would seem everyone would be happier with a place that had some music To hang out in. Likely they view the lobby this way, but the ambiance is wrong. It's my only complaint.

Cons: room location was one of the worst on the property, simply because it was not reserved directly through the hotel.

Cons: Only issue we had was that the Mariachi band played in the lobby until 2am, which included trumpets playing loudly. Some guests took that party to their rooms after causing a disturbance. We called front desk and resort compensated us with a couple of $90 spa certificates (hour massage) as well as champagne and choc-covered strawberries. Appreciated that.

Pros: The service was great. The staff very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious The Place was very clean. This may sound silly but the public bathrooms had scents oils that made them smell very nice and they were always clean. We had a fabulous time.

Cons: The way they make you check in and take a long time when you are tired and just get there you just want to get to bed and they try to get to confused with future vocation plan and the last thing I believe I only experience this hotel have a tower restaurant and which is they call cocaptain but it’s really mean manager was very rude oh last thing drinks are very watery no matter how much you tip

Cons: Wait times for the shuttle to the beach can get a bit frustrating at times. Pizzas at Marival Resort were terrible.

Cons: I reserved based on the app for 3 adults and 1 minor (age 15) as described on the booking app, when I arrived they said 15 is not minor and they charge me another 11,000 pesos , very dishonest hotel, if they consider above 13 not minor then they should let booking.com know and booking also should not let you reserved a 15 year old as minor if the hotel will not honor that. Based on this I erased the booking app and I will discourage anyone I know to ever use it

Pros: I have been to PV on many occasions and have always liked the vibe of the river area. A little bit away from the hustle and bustle of the Malecon area. The hotel offers easy access to the area and some tranquility when you need it. Mornings in the area feel very authentic with the noise of the roosters as your "alarm" but I found it soothing some how. The staff is very efficient and friendly. Great breakfasts in the morning. We didn't leave the table hungry !

Cons: I have stayed at Garlands Del Rio ( the sister property to Rivera Del Rio ) and enjoyed the access to Netflix in our room. I think that this hotel should also invest in providing this option to it guest. We could find only 1 channel that had English speaking shows to watch out of probably 40 channels. I realize it is Mexico but Netflix would remedy that situation for English speaking guest.

Pros: What a gem of a find in the 'budget traveller' category! Funky opulence? Luxurious theatre? I'm not sure how to describe the rooms (and we saw all of them! Fantastic!) Each created like a stage set. Like Salvador Dali influenced the architect. Like Gabriel García Márquez and George Eliot had a child who grew up to run a hotel. Colourful art, 4 poster beds, poured concrete bathtubs, spiral staircases to roof top pools. Blocks off, but worlds away, from the main drag of Old Vallarta, overlooking a lush green stream. Fantastic generous breakfast, truly kind and caring service.

Cons: This place is not for everyone. It is rather like staying with a rich old aunt- opulent bones, but one gets used to things that others consider 'eccentric'. In our suite, I had to leap up to get on the luscious king bed. Fun for me, but not compatible for everyone. The gorgeous bathroom at ceiling level had french windows that opened above the rest of the suite. (picture a Juliet balcony). So not soundproofed at all. There was a second, enclosed bathroom on the ground level for more privacy.

Pros: Upgraded room to the top bedroom (alejandro) which was incredible and easentially a fully equipped apartment. This beautifully transformed house has so much character and the views are stunning. The staff are super friendly, speak great english although i did try my poor spanish. The pool is gorgeous however i didnt use the spa despite the view from it. The bed was enormous as i was staying by myself and the cleaning ladies were great. It is somewhat obvious that this place is very old but what the others have done with it is so awesome. I would be back in an instant. 10 minute walk to the boardwalk, 15 to the beach. The bar works on an honor system and they make breakfast for you every morning - although i was never up to try it or decided to pass due to wanting to get to the beach. Still took the pastries from the bread basket :)

Pros: Entertainment staff was superb. Nice hotel. The resort credits which I thought were a scam were actually true! We swam with dolphins for $79 for the family! We had already booked a zip line through another company before we left and didn’t cancel it but we could’ve saved some money.

Cons: Didn’t like that when I asked for Belvedere vodka (WHICH THEY HAD!) in the only bar they had it the bartenders would act like they didn’t know what I was talking about. I had to tell one yesterday let me show you where you keep it and he acted like he had no clue

Pros: Location,activities,food amazing. Front desk very helpful with changing rooms when noticed the first room was not what was requested. Only problem was smokers next door and it seepted under the adjoing room doors.

Cons: My brother got sick eating shrimps, called reception and they said there was no medical center and made it seem like it wasn't their problem. At the checkout they told us there was a medical center and that we should have reported the incident, but they didn't even took note of it.

Cons: Guests come out early and put towels and small object on beach/pool chairs to reserve them and most are not used, but left us without chair to enjoy. Resort does not have any policy on time limit.

Cons: Room smell like mildew/ mold  at front desk wasn’t friendly or accommodating. Her attitude was very dry.

Cons: We were there last year and thought the rooms were much better than this trip. We moved rooms from the 2nd floor to the 6th. 2nd floor room had holes in the curtains, counter tops need polishing, no maid service until late pm. , no regular coffee.

Cons: They allow chair hogs to reserve lounges by the pool starting early in the morning. Seats sit empty with stuff on them for hours. Ridiculous! All chairs taken by 9 AM.

Pros: The resort was beautiful. Exactly like the pictures online! Every room had an ocean view. It was gated, therefore we felt very safe. The spa was very nice. The staff was very friendly and welcoming! We can’t wait to go back.

Cons: The only thing I can think of was the elevators were a bit stuffy. Other than that, it was perfect!

Pros: Everything about was awesome. The staff was exceptionally pleasant. It was a pleasure to be there. I would definitely recommend to family and friends.

Pros: Excellent cmplete business type breakfast, not too crowded, everything warm and ready; would've hoped for a bit longer of the breakfast hours, maybe until 11am, but nothing to really complain about.

Cons: The only thing I didn't like was that the parking lot is on the back and there's no easy access to it at nights, there's a back entrence but it's only open during the day, so when I arrived at night I had to walk all the way to the front to access the hotel. Maybe have that back entrance only accessible with your room key at nights.

Pros: He staff at h front desk was very helpful. Allowing us o leave our bags in a secure area while we went to lunch before leaving for the airport.

Cons: I thought the breakfast was mediocre,there was a lot of stuff no guestion. There was no gluten free selections. When we asked the staff if there was wheat in some of the dishes the did not know. The eggs seemed over cooked an dried out. The coffee weak and blasé. The fruit was very good,ripe and fresh and tasty.

Pros: Everything was 5 STAR .Daily free breakfast was awesome.Hotel manager and his entire staff, and cleaning staff were all 5STAR. Could not have been better and more helpful.

Pros: Very helpful staff (my husband was in hospital). Great breakfast with wide variety.

Cons: The safe is located at about 6 or 6 1/2 feet up. Couldn't use it. Room service sent up the wrong, and much more expensive, wine. Room service closed when I returned from hospital and nowhere to get food.

Pros: The staff, location, and facilities were great for an airport hotel. The rooms are very comfortable. The internet speed was fantastic. The parking was an additional plus. The fruit selection at breakfast was very good. The bed linens and pillows were nice.

Cons: The mattresses were extremely soft and provided little or no support. They were cheap mattresses. This was especially disappointing given that it's a newer hotel. Although the air conditioning was very efficient, it was too loud even while wearing ear plugs. The breakfast, except for the fruit, was like low-quality cafeteria food. Some of the food didn't even taste real. I would have gladly paid more for a real breakfast.

Pros: Staff was very nice. The facilities were clean. It did not promise anything it did not deliver.

Cons: The price was the same as the 5-star hotels 25 minutes south. My reason for staying at Villa Premier was that is was close into town. But the surrounding area kind of sucked. And Puerto Vallarta is not a super nice place and I would suggest to stay in a higher end place and venture out once a day into town.

Cons: The deluxe room was small and not laided out well. The food was better than average, not enough selection.

Cons: The power did go out to most of the hotel after a topical storm, but so we stayed and chilled at the pool most of the day, which happens to be one of the hots days here. The power was out from 8am untill about 530 am

My fiance and I recently stayed 3 nights in the honeymoon suite, and we couldn't have been happier! The room (and the entire resort) was gorgeous, the food and drinks were great, and the staff were all sooo friendly and accommodating. It was luxury & relaxation at its finest, and we would highly recommend this resort to anyone! We are missing it already :)

Pros: Very large resort spanning several buildings. We stayed at one of the ones high on the hillside. This had a great sea view. All inclusive was the best I have encountered so far. You could eat and drink from the menus of 5 restaurant and almost all was included in all inclusive.

Cons: Sometimes, the trolley took forever. And if you are planning on leaving the property early before the trolley starts operating try to walk to the lobby because when we had our excursion to marrietas islands we called for a ride to the lobby ( we were in tower 5) and they never made it. We had to walk to the lobby and then wait for a taxi in the lobby. We ended up being late to the excursion meeting time. But were lucky enough to get in to the boat.

Pros: The infinity pool is amazing and I love how you can walk out to the beach. I liked being able to lay by the pool or beachside with lounge chairs that have shade over your head! The location is good, you do have to taxi or uber to get into town but it inexpensive. I liked the different restaurants on the property and that there is a trolley that takes you to and from their sister hotel mousai up the hill. There are also daily activities and a tour desks that sets up your excursions, loved the one stop shop. Did I say the infinity pool is amazing?!

Pros: The property was lovely, gardens were beautiful and it was very clean. The pools were very nice and we appreciated the adults only pool. We loved the view from our room and listening to the waves every night. The staff was excellent and very attentive taking orders at the pools. The hotel manager was very available and we had excellent communication before our stay arranging transport from the airport. The food at the restaurants was beautifully prepared and presented and menus rotated every day for variety. Getting into town was easy with the bus coming by right at the corner every few minutes for 10 pesos. All in all we enjoyed our stay and would come again.

Cons: The concerns were minor and things that other reviews had prepared us for. Good for prospective guests to consider. There is construction on the next property, but at this point it didn't bother us. The sister property next door has more of a party atmosphere and can be noisy in the evening but we found it ended early enough for us. We found the food surprisingly bland for our taste. Next time I will ask for more spice! We had an issue with one staff member making us feel guilty for not purchasing additional services, telling us she worked on commission. and following us around in spite of saying no. We were surprised at her approach, but you do have to be brutally firm.

Pros: It was a short bus ride to the Old town area. Variety of pools and hot tub very nice. Good gym and spa too. Staff very friendly. Was the shoulder season and not hard to find a chair by the pool or at dinner.

Pros: The beach was nice. The Italian Restaurant was adults only. We ate there all 3 nights of our stay. The staff was great and the resort very clean, as we have mostly found to be true in Mexico.

Cons: We were there celebrating our 35th anniversary. This was not the place for a tranquil vacation. There were lots of children and families. They bused in people on Saturday, and picked them up on Sunday. The resort was very crowded, particularly the pool. The food was mostly buffets. The snack bar served a greasy hamburger that smelled great and tasted even better.

We ate almost exclusively off site because of this, even breakfast. Even something as chips, salsa and guacamole was the worst we had on our trip. Charged us $3 for a cup of coffee pored myself in restaurant because we didn't have breakfast.WiFi was spotty and extremely frustrating !

We ignored it for the most part but our last night I was stung by a bee on my face while around the pool so we didn't go out that night because I had a swollen face and after hearing the drums for 40 minutes we called to complain. It stopped but that's so ignorant of him. We also requested a partition for the patio but never received it

Cons: The glass shower fell on my boyfriend and refused to change my room at first .. I had to literally start packing in front of them and thats when they moved me to another room ... I also paid for a sea view and was not given one ... this hotel it’s way too overpriced ! And they refused to give me any type of refund .. on the other hand booking.com did give me on there part 15%. Of what I paid .. thank you booking.com . The hotel will be hearing from my lawyer !!!

Pros: Staff was super nice and accommodating. Good food options every day, private beach, close to downtown. Clean rooms and clean beach.

Pros: As someone traveling a lone, perhaps an all-inclusive resort was not the most bang for my buck. I also don't drink and try not to over-consume (which is the culture all-inclusives produce). With that said, the facilities and location can't be beat. If I were to be traveling with my partner or with family, this is a great option that really affords relaxation and easygoing vacation (if you don't plan to leave). Arrival: You will be stopped at the gate (if arriving by Uber or taxi). It was super simple - you're greeted with smiles and a warm towel + drink. I got there at 11, and as expected the room wasn't ready until 2:45/3pm. You can use the facilities regardless (ex. eat in the cafe, use the pools, use the gym, etc) even when you don't have your room yet. The coffee shop is 24/7 (not the barista - but there will be snacks and a carafe of coffee available if you're jetlagged). The beachfront is amazing. Weather dependent, the sun will kick in at full blast around 11 and really last until sunset (which also varies by season). As I was here in early July, the sun was not setting until 8:45pm. The gym is amazing. While there is a trainer there, I did not really see him do too much. I think if the patron demographic gravitated more towards a younger crowd, then people would have taken advantage of the cross-training class they offer every day around 9:45am. But the demographic here is mainly families, and older (and not on the fit side). The gym is 24/7 and there are ample amounts for you to do your hiit training, weight-training, and cardio.

Cons: If I had to hate on anything, I was a bit appalled by the conditions of the bathrooms closest to the beach fronts. They were not well-maintained and there aren't any fitting rooms if you're looking to quickly change between the beach and regular clothes (so you wouldn't have to go to your room to change). But really, what's an extra 10 minutes to walk to your room, dry off and change? Again, you have to be the laziest person to let this annoy you. If you're a disabled person or have accessibility issues, then yes, this is an issue. I was here for four days, three nights. I did not have hot water at all during the entire trip. The reason I did not ask to change rooms is because Puerto Vallarta is HUMID in the summer. You'll be grateful for a cold shower. :) Probably because Hyatt has done its surveys and assessment, but was really surprised as a beachfront all-inclusive they didn't have more physical or interactive activities (ex. yoga on the beach, cooking classes perhaps in the hotel kitchen or at one of the restaurants). My guess is that this is because most of the people staying here just want to load up on the excess drinks and food. It might be interesting for Hyatt to provide more health-conscious activities. Oh, and the app should be better - it doesn't even offer a map and the restaurant/dining open hours were incorrect.

I did not like the fish so I ordered the rib eye and it was not seasoned or cooked properly. Most of us had to return the plates back so we can order other things from the menu. I ordered a Mojito and when i got it I thought i was given a glass of water ! I asked the waiter if i was given someone else's drink but he told me that the drink is fine and this is how they make drinks for Americans because we don't like them strong ! From that point on I just ordered shots of Hornitos tequila or just Hornitos with a splash of lemon juice. The next day , we tried the Mexican place , downstairs, and their food was almost uneatable. I was frustrated with what I got , so I ordered chicken tacos to keep it simple. I got three dry (probably microwaved chicken ) tacos with nothing in them. Did not even try the Japanese or the Italian place next door because if you cannot have decent Mexican food in Mexico , why even bother with Japanese or Italian . We left the hotel and went to some local Mexican restaurants and had great Mexican seafood/pastor. P.S: - The staff at the restaurants and the buffet were friendly and very helpful. - The buffet was the best thing they had at the hotel. We just ate their the whole time.

Cons: Like one of the reviewers noted, I too was placed in a room that faced the air conditioning units in the courtyard. The best outcome for this situation is that I know I would have been moved to a better room if I had asked. But I was only there one night so didn't bother.

The only problem was we went during a week of festivals in which the town continuously set off fireworks that sounded like bombs right next door. Sadly, this took away from the relaxing atmosphere but overall great place to stay in La Cruz.
