Great historic hotel
This is a great historic hotel and is the perfect location for walking to shops and restaurants in Lawrence. I have stayed in this hotel twice now and have been impressed with the cleanliness, comfortable bed and great staff. The restaurant downstairs is excellent as well. The only negative is that the air conditioner is extremely noisy. The ones with wall units (in the back rooms) never seem to be quite comfortable and have noisier AC systems than the rooms facing the street. This hotel is apparently also famous for its ghosts, so it's possible that your air conditioner will not be the only thing that goes bump in the night. Certain parts of the hotel do feel a bit creepy, especially the elevator. I would definitely stay there again, but I would probably not do so alone.
