Options for breakfast buffet That I couldn't take my food to my room.
Nothing Rooms smell staff were rude
Nice and clean rooms, front desk staff was very friendly, the dessert I ordered for in-room dining was superb. This was by far the loudest hotel i have ever stayed at, there was no noise insulation! The staff was loud while cleaning the rooms, I could hear a party/loud music from the 2nd floor (I was on floor 6), the guests passing in the hallway were loud and obnoxious, all I heard most of the night was people yelling, hollering and screaming. Never again!
Close to working sites for business trips. The room smell is bad.
EVERYONE WAS NICE AND FRIENDSLY THE BEDS WERE A LITTLE TOO HARD
Great staff and service.
I made an honest mistake and booked the hotel for a Check in Friday and check out Saturday. I meant to check in Saturday with a check out Sunday. I wasn't able to stay at Crown Plaza and they weren't able to switch my room date or give me a credit. I had 3 kids under 4 years old with me also. I WAS CHARGED FOR A ROOM I DIDNT EVEN GET TO STAY IN
No breakfast included and elevators had water all over the floor from people drudging in from the pool area.
Beautiful grounds with real plants and giant skylight. Nice, spacious and airy rooms. Nice facilities, good free breakfast and affordable pricing. I really loved it.
i didn't like nothing about this hotel The mattress is horrible I was awake up with a lot of pain in my did showerhead is very low it's only four people less than 4 feet
This was our 4th time staying to attend a game at Levi Stadium we were very happy with the shuttle service. We stayed in room 719 & there was an unusual amount of condensation which caused our clothes to smell moldly, we didn't smell it until we got home & unpacked, which makes us think that the rooms air quality is unhealthy. I'm still suffering from allergy problems a week later.
Marichu acknowledged me as a HH member, she gave me 2 bags of goodies - that's the right attitude, she was very approachable. The female night auditor, was very accommodating, my key was not working and i asked her for a new key, and asked me if i am an HH member, and i said yes, but the lady who checked me in said "no - cannot apply my HH member number on file". The night auditor, smiled and said i can do that for you :-) The agent who checked us in - said that she cannot add my HH points because i booked on a 3rd party - lack of customer service attitude. She could have said it nicely and politely like "i'm sorry, because u booked .. blah blah" right ?! but instead just said "no" - this is not the right attitude. -- i forgot her name.
Everything...never can complain..excellent every time we visit 0
Everything was great for us. We had no complaints.
the separate room the kitchen And all utensils there are your finger tip. The DVDs and the player are a major plus even though it was a lot of older movies it still made our nights so much better and kept the Little one occupied for the most part. They lock up all the food they give to you in the mornings after 10am. The little one wanted milk in the middle of the night and it would of been so much more convenient if I could have gone straight down stairs to get a cup or carton instead of driving to Walmart and getting out in the rain and cold to grab some.
The room had a nice kitchen area and good arrangement for the rest of the room. The breakfast was very nice and more than I thought it would be. We were on a tight schedule and tried to check in a little before 2p. The receptionist said, without even checking, that no rooms are available and that check in is at 3pm. There was NOBODY else in the lobby or breakfast area. Most hotels have a 3pm check in time; however, if a room is available, they'll allow us to check in. The feathers of the mattress down were sticking out of the mattress in a few places, causing discomfort. I needed to pull out the feathers which were sticking into my body, legs, arms.
Ants inside shower.
Location Bed was uncomfortable and did not have enough covers shower was outdated and shower head was cheap No coffee station in room Sparsely decorated
Clean rooms with feel of knowing they are clean Ac went out. Super hot. Small beds
Rooms Staff at the door
Wonderful environment, great Beds close to San Jose Convention Center. Very Friendly Staff, impecible Service.
Walking distance to downtown San jose & Staff was great
Fancy, various locations to eat and enjoy yourself with partner and great America in a 13 min drive distance just a great stay after all and great valet service Beware of an extra 100$ charge at check in just in case you break anything in the hotel but will be refunded after check out and line is to long with no one trying to help them out to make the line go faster
Can't really think of anything. 1. Room was dated. 2. Room with a view had no view. 3. Parking was expensive. 4. Hotel had no charm or allure (other than the advertised picture).
I liked that it was downtown close to bars, clubs and restaurants.
Clean, comfortable, upscale, great location in heart of city near restaurants, businesses, arena, light rail, freeway. Wonderful accomodations. Easy check- and check-out. Expensive parking. We parked in a garage one block from the hotel to avoid unreasonable $26 nightly fee. Most big cities charge this much, and higher, but why do have to shrug our shoulders and say, "that"s just the way it is". It feels like the baggage fees on the airlines.
Great hotel, room and staff! Got free upgrade upon arrival and an extra 1/2 hour checkout time so we could go to the next door art museum without a hassle.
A property in the Fairmont family. Being in historical downtown next to sites of value. Relying on amenities of a high end hotel which did not disappoint. The staff was friendly and helpful in all encounters. Extra fees for wifi these days seems unnecessary. Having to use hotel cards to go between tower and main facility (although security is appropriate).
Andy the concierge took care of us like an old friend.
check in and out convenience. Movies extremely expensive.
Great location and amazing hotel. The amenities were good as well. The rio was a nice size and I had a view of Levi Stadium. When I came back to the hotel at about 11pm there were no parking places. I believe outsiders were at the bar or guests had their friends visiting. When you are paying for a hotel room it's annoying not being able to park in the parking lot.
Helpful and friendly staff who keep up with the demands and requests of the guest. Also, a very quiet and clean space that allowed us to get our rest.
The restaurant had very high quality food for the price and the bar was elegant and very accessible. Need to have FREE wifi in the rooms! This is 2015 AND the hotel is in the heart of silicone valley. For shame! Hilton
Everything was great Everything was good all people there are helpful
It's a good hotel with all the facilities you need, conveniently positioned across the road from the Hyatt convention center. No free WiFi, which for the price of the room, I would have expected.
Clean. Comfortable beds. Great shower. Friendly helpful staff.
The staf was extremely accommodating and friendly. the food in the restaurants was of excellent quality and the Lounge Bar was an excellent place to relax and grab a light meal. The room was large and perfect for my business trip. I liked everything about this hotel
The design of the hotel is amazing! I love the modern feel and everything feels new. Downside was I came on a day where teenagers called "future business laws of America" were staying for the weekend. They were loud and obnoxious in the hallways, elevators, and at the pool. It seemed like I could never get away from them!
Was given a double bed instead of a king. Uncomfortable and had to sleep in two different beds
Amazing views, great service and great bar
Room was excellent, except my city view was a view of the stadium. Can't really complain about that though it was fine. They even sent up a bathrobe to my room when I asked. There was some youth convention going on which wasn't really a problem. However it took me a while to get on the elevator to get to my room
Had a microwave and refrigerator. Close to shops and many food choices. The bed was hard and uncomfortable and the sheets were worn. I was very surprised at this with this being a Hilton hotel...
Sehr Schönes Hotel in guter Lage.
My wife had bed bugs bite around her body, we approached the front desk i was surprised that he told us, he will send cleaners to check on it.. i thought or i was expecting that he is sorry for the inconvenience and he will transfer us to another room... i was the only one who insisted to be transferred to the head of the cleaning lady.. and besides checking our linens by our cleaning lady wont help anything in removing bed bugs... common sense to the front desk...
Friendly staff, very clean and great breakfast. Elevator too far from lobby
No complimentary breakfast or wifi (for a 4-star rated hotel)
I would recommend this hotel for the 4 Star rating and helkpful staff. The location provides good access to several major hi-tech business hubs, as well as to the San Jose Airport.
Check in was very easy.the staff extremely helpful, nice, and welcoming! Gave us suggestion of where to go for 4th of July fireworks! No complaints at all, with the exception of having to pay $10 for Internet access.
Very clean and relaxing. Close to shopping so it was very convenient.
Definitely, I will stay again at Sheraton. Maybe, the pool area is done at that time.
The rooms were large, quiet, nicely decorated, very clean, and the beds were comfortable. The fitness center was well maintained and clean, cleaning staff was working while I did my workout and they were very thorough. There was even chilled towels and complimentary ear buds! I was completely delighted with my stay and will return if I find myself in the area again.
The hotel was very high quality, the room was large and clean, and the room offered an excellent view to the pool and fountains. Room offered many extras, including a hair dryer and above average complimentary hair products and soap. Had to pay for WiFi in the room, but it was available in the lobby w/o cost. The restaurant was nice, and the menu varied, though the prices were very high, IMO. Not many drawers for clothes .
Good and Nice quite place for business or pleasure
Our room was very nice, and the staff reasonably courteous. A free computer was available to use in the lobby, but to access the Web from your room cost about $10 a day.
Clean hotel and friendly staff, room was very comfortable, location was good and easy to locate, good restaurants in the area
My husband & I stayed 3 nights. The shower was never really hot, despite our complaints. After maintenance tried to fix it, It was at least warm enough to take a shower. Fortunately, we didn't have to find a place to park on a regular basis, since we rode with family who were locals. When we did have to park, it was very difficult to find a space due to barriers for valet parking. On the up-side, the beds were VERY comfortable & we slept very well. Food is expensive, so we ate off site most of the time. The staff was friendly enough. Wouldn't be my first choice, but we would probably stay here again if we couldn't find anything else that was convenient.
Bed was great, not a very crowded hotel. Quiet area.
Love that every room has their own balcony for fresh air. Great ammenities down stairs and friendly staff! I always enjoy the excellent customer service here. The location of the hotel is convienent, close to restaurants, shopping, and airport. Going in and out of the parking lot became an issue. At the Doubletree guests have the option of valet or self park (you are charged a nightly fee per night). We chose to self park, upon entering and exiting guests must use a parking ticket to do so, the parking meter ended up not working so we'd be stuck for 15-20 minutes along with everyone else trying to get out. They should use room keys for this versus paper tickets that eventually get bent out of shape.
Warning: Parking is NOT free at this hotel, not even for guests. You'll be forced to pay $20 to park per night! This made for a very obnoxious surprise during check-in.
Pam at the registration desk was friendly and professional. Great first impression! I did not receive the complimentary breakfast that was advertised; confusion about a coupon. I was a bit disappointed in this.
Very friendly staff. Nice breakfast. The hotel nickel and dimes you. $2.50 for bottled water, $19 a day for parking, expensive breakfast and dinner.
The airport shuttle was terrific to have.
I was charged twice for parking at the hotel. We were not allowed in/out entry into the parking area with our room keys. I was charged for parking at the parking gate and on my final bill. I called the hotel for REFUND and I haven't seen the refund on my bank statement as of this moment.
The room was clean and tidy. Very simple, no art or decor to speak of. The lobby looked new and modern. Staff was very professional and nice. The HHonors floor was still in carpet from the 90's. Very old and out-dated. The room was very dated as well. My daughter who is 5'4" could press on the ceiling tiles, they were so low and old.
Rooms are spacious and clean. You have to pay for almost everything else; internet, parking, breakfast.
The close proximity to the light rail and bus stops ,with very friendly and helpful staff Only two sachets of coffee left in room to use which meant after a night cuppa nothing left for the morning. When I left a note to the maid asking for more only one more sachet was left ---barely adequate for two people!!??
The staff was professional and extremely responsive; the room was exceptionally clean as well as the lobby/breakfast room. NOTHING
The staff was very friendly. Rooms were very clean. Beds were extremely comfortable to sleep on. The room costed more than i would have liked to pay.
Enjoyed are stay . Will be back again couldn't ask for more. Almost an away from Downtown .
Location is great. Facilities are great. Good desk and internet work environment. Uber drivers all around this area all the time. I like that the price already had everything in it (internet, breakfast, parking, etc.) It can get really expensive in this area. Same hotel in Dallas, LA, etc. is less expensive but demand in the area is high. It is a good price compared to what else is around it. Not a lot of good restaurants in walking distance. Short ride to get to better places to eat.
Close proximity to SAP center for events. New carpet and furnishings. Had a refrigerator, microwave and coffee pot in the room. Air conditioner did not work, it was blowing hot air. Bathroom was dingy looking but superficially clean. Their recent remodel did not include the bathroom.
Nice staff Being woke up at 3am due to excessive loud noise outside the hotel window
Everything, from cleanliness of our room to the friendly service.
The hotel is dated and could use a remodel, but it was reasonably priced. The room was clean, large but old. There was a jacuzzi tub in the bathroom which we didn't use. The switches and timer where outside the bathroom which dated the place. Still the room was good for what we needed it for. We had a good stay there.
Guys at the front desk are all super nice. Lady at the front desk could try smiling.
Lighting in the room was poor, the shower temperature would constantly fluctuate between scolding hot and just barely warm. The hallways still smelled of fresh paint and carpet was a bit tattered. Location isn't bad and the staff and breakfast was great.
The room was beautifully remodeled with high ceilings and lots of space. Continental breakfast was filling and fresh. My first impression of the hotel was not great, however, the staff was friendly and the rooms were very clean. The rooms above us were a little noisy.
Walk to the SAP Center. Free parking. Free breakfast. Nice rooms!
Location was convenient The staff was unfriendly, I did not feel welcome. The lighting in the room was terrible, air conditioning difficult to adjust, and carpet was dirty
Is a great hotel, in my groups opinion it was better suited for many people than the Fairmount Hotel. Next year for fanime we will be staying at the Arena Hotel the whole time.
This is the best place to stay if you don't want to drive when attending an event at the SAP Center, which is less than a 10-minute walk. I also like that the place is very clean, the hotel and our room. My friend was in town to attend a concert with me and we were both very happy with the accommodations, especially since we just wanted a clean, safe place to stay and this was the place. The complimentary breakfast was pretty decent too. They had hot and cold options. The hotel is a bit dated but my main concern is cleanliness and safety.
We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite with our two teen daughters. The place was huge! in addition to the two bedrooms with three beds, there was a livingroom with full kitchen, two full bathrooms, and 3 tvs. It was so quiet we felt like we were the only ones staying there. The full breakfast in the morning was great... eggs florentine, waffles, bacon, sausage, hashbrowns, etc. The only complaint I had was that the room was not ready for us at 3 pm check-in time. But we only waited a short time. I would recommend this place for anyone who needs a lot of room with kids/teens.
Great grounds and plenty of character; a relaxing venue with history and luxury.
We stayed here 1 night in room 121. It was a suite with easy access to the swimming pool. The back door lead right to the swimming pool. The pool looks bigger in the picture but it's still a excellent size. The staff was great and Sunday brunch was delicious. Good hotel to relax and get away from the regular 9-5. The only thing I can critique is we were there on a Saturday and there's was nothing special for dinner. The bar food was ok and room service food was ok. No restaurants walking distance but no big deal. Everything was releasing
Staff incredibly attentive The shortness of our stay
Used condom wrapper in the drawer. Need i say more.
The grounds are really nice with a large and comfortable patio seating area and swimming pool. The furnishings in the room were old, old, old, and poorly decorated.
Everything from the room/bathroom was spotless incredibly clean . beautiful place to stay. Absolutely no negative comments to say.also GREAT STAFF! Very helpful and on point..even if I have to go out of my way to stay here again it would be worth it.very quite also.no traffic noises etc.will be back for another stay asap!!!
Beautiful grounds Nice rework of what was there previously Nice pool and hot tub Good lounge Ample parking Comfortable bed Difficult to get to (in the middle of a neighborhood) Staff wouldn't print me a receipt (big issue on business travel) Pool / spa could be open later
The staff was very helpful when it was found out that the website I had booked through hadn't communicated with the hotel fully and they had to go digging for my reservation. But I got a room, it was very nice, even if a bit cramped, but that didn't detract from my stay. The grounds were very nice. I enjoyed their exercise room, it was more filled out than most hotels. I just wish I had had warmer weather to enjoy the pool and more time to enjoy every other feature of Hayes Mansion.
I had called ahead to make sure I coukd check in late, but when i got there, I couldn't find the front desk person (or anyone) for 5 minutes, then when I finally found her, she found my reservation, but couldn't tell what rooms were available & so had to call her manager, and long story short, it was just over half an hour between when I walked in the front door and walked into my room. She said it was her second day, which I can only imagine is really overwhelming, so I was trying to be patient, and I've had good experiences every other time I've stayed there, but i have to say, this one left a sour taste in my mouth.
Driving up the residential street and coming upon the entrance for the 1st time gives you a feeling of stepping back in time to another era. The attention to detail and the beautiful wood trim all around gave a feeling of a very special place. I had only one night to explore the mansion and surroundings.
The valet service was overwhelmed since the hotel had no self park option. Plus, the valet was serving guests who weren't even staying at the hotel but attending a concert or conference in the area. It's a bit ridiculous that it takes 20 minutes to drop off a car with valet and another 20 minutes to pick it up.
Pay WiFi with speed tiers.
Had a problem with the first room but they helped me switch rooms no questions asked
The proximity to the convention center and civic hall was crucial for my team's stay and this property is next to both. The accomadations and staff were excellent. I would recommend splurging a little fir the concierge lounge.
Excellent location, top choice for San Jose. Walking distance to major attractions and night life in the area. Excellent VTA transit access as well. Also consider the Hilton and Fairmont nearby. Valet parking is $29 with in/out privileges. This is a reasonable price for the area.
Room was very quiet, even with all of the airplane traffic on approach to San Jose Airport.
Great room overall, clean hotel in excellent location. Close to shops, food, and activities. Great service and friendly staff. Convenient parking (though it costs extra even without valet) garage connected to the hotel. Only a block away from Original Joe's. Despite a few quirks, I would stay here again. Charge for WiFi (unless you are an Elite member), ridiculous prices for snack shop food and goods ($5 for a Dairy Milk candy bar, $6 for an Odwalla Smoothie!), $45 for a t-shirt! Also, the hotel smells like the air freshener they pipe in at many of the Las Vegas hotels (could be a plus if you like that). Also, the choice of "aromatherapy" soaps are awful--why not go the clean, fresh scent of soap instead of burned wood?
Top notch hotel. Clean, newly remodeled, all amenities & on site restaurants etc The valet. He did not specify pricing of valet vs self park or exactly where self park was located.
I really Liked its location, we were attending a event at the convention center and the hotel is actually leads into the convention center. That was great! We didn't have to walk at all. All staff members were extremely nice and willing to offer any help that they could offer. The hotel was very busy due to the event, but the staff still dealt with customers in a very polite and friendly manner. I also wanted to say thank you to this hotel for not treating us any different than there other guest, we have been to other hotels and due to our ethnic background have been treated like we were some how less. This hotel did an excellent job treating everybody well and respectively Thank you so much! Some of the things that we weren't so pleased with that room service had certain hours and that it wasn't 24 hours and that the rooms were a little smaller than what we excepted. But overall we had a great experience
Friendly Staff, Continental Breakfast, Comfy Beds/Pillows and Several Hundred Cable Channels... Shower Head for People Under 5' & a Couple of Bugs in the Bathroom...
None Pictures posted on their website did not come close to what the hotel looked like upon arrival. Hotel claimed they were under renovation; place had materials all around the Hotel. Room itself was questionable. Had to buy a sheet at Walmart to cover the bed since it's questionable how the condition of the bedding. Room door was flimsy and big gap on the door seem that lights comes through from the freeway lighting. Towels were very small and rough. Internet connection expires at the end of each day and you'll have to keep requesting a new connection for the duration of your stay. Plugging for electronics is hardly accessible.
Heater didnt work.
Close to airport, easy to find. Cochroaches, popcorn in my bed, broken electrical plate covers, constant pot oder, could see through to the out side via door gap when it was closed and hair in shower.... like 2ft long wad of hair on the shower wall and pubes in the tub. Also if any one used water i could hear it via the pipes shaking. Just yuck. I slept on top of the blankets. Dont stay here.
Graffiti in my room! Horrible smell, no comforter, no fitted sheet. I had a flat sheet and a blanket, and I visited during January. I should've stayed at Motel 6
Would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy I disliked everything
Nothing everything was horrible Bathroom was dirty like someone had just checked out. Room had a funny smell. We didn't stay we drove over an hr home after our game because i was not going to stay in that filth. Will never go back again
Close enough to Great America theme park. Lousy free breakfast (it was literally just toast and cereal), had to kill a roach in bathroom suggesting it might have a bug problem. For the price we got though it wasn't to bad.
Location off of highway, very easy to find. Located in somewhat of a bad area of town. Random homeless/ drug users wandering around property at late hours of the night. Flet unsafe to leave room at night. Room had patches in the ceiling. Bathroom corners and corners of room were dirty with built up. Furniture was dirty and broken/ missing pieces. Overall a hotel worth half the price I paid to stay there, book with a well known chain hotel.
Location Too loud, could hear traffic all night.
Nothing The roaches and management
Convenience and location were not bad as I had to be somewhere early the morning after my stay and it allowed me to get there with time to spare. Check in was fairly simple and the room was easy to locate. The price of the room is the last good point of my stay, as it was Super Bowl weekend when I was at this hotel and they were one of the cheapest rooms for the one night I needed. Where should I start.... The room I received a key card for was on the side of the hotel closest to the freeway exit ramp. So, during the night when an officer went to pull over someone, and used his bullhorn, I was woken up. The room seemed out of place and too small for the amount of furniture in it, as there was a table pushed over a chair, near the door. The corridor light (1st floor) was right outside my door, so every time I turned over, I thought I had slept through my alarm and couldn't go back to sleep. The flooring seemed "warped" near the bathroom door (near the sink). It wasn't flat and it made a "crunch" noise when stepping on that area.
The newly renovated rooms and baths are simple and elegant. The Hedley Club lounge serves good food & cocktails. Conveniently located in downtown San Jose, short walk to Convention center. The room lacked many standard amenities: 1) password protected, high speed Wi-Fi (Wi-Fi was free, slow and unsecured) 2) in room safe large enough to fit a laptop 3) stocked mini-bar (empty mini-fridge provided but there were no vending machines or in hotel shop to buy snacks & drinks) 4) in room guide/magazine with local/city info
We loved the late night pantry
The bathrooms were well furnished... Better than the actual rooms. The staff was very friendly. True price I paid was not worth the room. It was a very crampt room with ancient furniture. The rooms were a boring shade of beige and our window view was another building being constructed. It's layout seemed more that of a comfort inn with a price tag of 90 dollars a night rather than 150. It's not worth the price, if you have a car go to a comfort inn and save some money cause got the same experience.
room service was delicious and fast. Stay was very comfortable. Beautiful large bathroom. Great location.
