Cons: Was quite hot overnight on the top floor we were on, during the fairly hot spell we were there (32c), and despite use of fan. Not an easy problem to solve I will admit. Maybe a better fan?

10.0 Excellent
Pros: A charming B & B in a quaint, quintessential French village. The room was well appointed and tastefully decorated with modern facilities ie shower et al. The room also boasted a fabulous view of the countryside. Our hosts, Kevin and Fiona were exceptional in their care for their guests meeting every need. We suggest you ask them to cook dinner; great food, stunning outside setting, excellent value for money, but best of all the opportunity to chat and learn about what life is like living in a French village. This accomodation is highly recommended for cyclists, the surrounding area is perfect for cycling. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to return one day.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fiona and Kev were the perfect hosts and made me feel very welcome as a solo traveler. Breakfast was lovely. My bedroom was very comfortable even had a hairdryer near a mirror, as a hairdresser this is normally a big bug bear of mine. I also have to mention the shower it was fantastic. I’m so glad I choose to stay over at Chez Keona, and am already talking about going back with a couple of friends in May or June for a long weekend. Thank you so very much again for a wonderful stop over. I can highly recommend.
Cons: I can’t say that there was anything I didn’t like, apart from I wish I could have stayed a few more days. I was looked after so very well. Fiona even sorted a phone charger for me as I couldn’t find mine when I first arrived.

Hôtel Val de Vienne - Le Vigeant - Building

8.9 Excellent (205 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Situated in Le Vigeant, this hotel is 2.3 mi (3.8 km) from Circuit du Val de Vienne and 8.8 mi (14.2 km) from Church Saint-Just. Château de Fougeret and La Sabline Prehistory Museum are also within 20 mi (32 km).
9.5 Excellent
Pros: It was styled a bit like a motel. You went in to your own bedroom from the car park and the other side of your room looked onto lawns going down to a river. There was a good pool. Plenty of parking. In the evening we ate at its restaurant and had a superb meal. The only downside was there were a lot of flies (hence the down grading on comfort) however when talking to the owners, (who are really lovely and not been there long), I discovered they had ordered some fly screens and were waiting for them to arrive. (The flies had taken them by surprise)
Cons: The lack of fly screens (but that was being sorted)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice and clean room, friendly staff and perfect situation for the reason I stayed and this hotel next to the race track Val de Vienne.
Cons: NA

Pros: lovely place to stay. Really friendly and helpful owners. Relaxed and informal in a peaceful riverside setting. Having an individual outside space was perfect especially having dogs with us. Great to have a swim on arrival. Delicious home cooked food with care given to dietary requirements. Would definitely go back and recommend to other travellers.
Cons: The owners have recently acquired the building and I'm sure they will up date the rooms

Pros: The new owners couldn’t have done more for us. Melanie and her husband made sure we had a fantastic stay at the hotel whilst serving us delicious food in the restaurant every evening. Can’t wait to do back next year. Such a beautiful hotel in a stunning quiet location. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable.

5.5 Okay
Pros: The room was clean. the electronic shutter was good. But the best bit was driving away never to return.
Cons: This hotel is spoilt by several key points. Firstly check in- we did not receive the email with the code for the front door by email until after our stay, and never received it by text (although both methods promised by booking.com and hotel). We arrived at 4pm, and could not get in the hotel- we could see our card inside the entrance with our room key, but could not get to it.We wandered about the exterior for some time trying to find someone, and tried the tel no provided on the booking.com confirmation, only to find that this number is no longer in service.Eventually, we tried a separate building/business across the road (nothing to do with the hotel), where someone in the front office had obviously come across this problem before-she kindly rang a number she had, and eventually got permission to give us the code for the front door. So, we get in the hotel, get our key card, and go to the room- which is nice, clean etc.But we were worried about what would happen if we went out and the key card for the room wouldn't work on our return (which does happen in hotels). Here you are vulnerable because there is no member of staff present, and the phone number was incorrect. There was another phone number on the room card, but we had no confidence that this would be correct either/or answered if a problem. Anyway we did go out for an evening meal, and luckily the key card did work- but on holiday you can do without this potential problem. In addition the wifi wouldn't work at all- and of course there is no-one to ask about solving this. In the morning, we went down to the breakfast room, which was locked, and found a lady cleaning in the foyer- we asked her in French if we could possibly have breakfast (we had apparently made a major error in not pre booking this!). Anyway she immediately started shouting that we hadn't booked it, and looked extremely angry as she banged the door lock open, all the while shouting.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Attending a race meeting ot Circuit val de Vienna and hotel room had balcony overlooking the track. Very modern, roomy and fabulous bathroom.
Cons: There was a charge for the secure car park and given the price of the executive room I felt it sHould have been included in the price. Free parking was available opposite the hotel but had a valuable motorcycle in a van and wanted it safe.
6.8 Good
Pros: The rooms are fantastic, with some rooms with balcony/patio overlooking the first corner of the race circuit, rooms are brilliant and a really nice communal patio area to chill out after a hard days riding on track (with the beers/wine you have bought from the supermarket). Would I stay at the hotel again ? maybe if the "angry blonde woman" is still employed there, definitely if she wasn't.
Cons: My family and I were attending a track day at the Val De Vienne circuit where this hotel is located. We arrived at 14:30 and having received an email with the door code and that our room card would be left in reception area we, parked in the "secure car park" and tried the door code on the closest door, which looked like a rear entrance to the hotel, after two attempts the door opened from someone on the inside, a blonde lady speaking no english whatsoever, but was apparently was nonplussed at our attempts at entering the hotel through this door, shouting at us and directing us the the front door, when we walked there she was standing in the door arms crossed shouting at us again in french apparently telling us the rooms were not ready until 5pm. After attempting to ask this extremely rude young woman if we could maybe check-in a little earlier she repeatedly shouted "non" at us, I asked if anyone spoke english, she stormed off and another lady appeared who spoken english and agreed that we could get into the room at 4pm. Upon returning we realised that this is a receptionless hotel, all key cards are simply left on a counter with your name on, very strange, not very secure method of getting your room (someone could take your room's card before your arrival, remove items leaving you to blame and stump up fees for missing towels, remote controls etc). Obviously if the keycard isn't working or stops working then you are completely out of luck, as happened to one of the residents we were travelling with us, the phone number on the back of the card was not answered, we went and spoke to the security staff at the circuit who also tried to call the hotels owners to no avail, in the end he was able to break into the hotel room, otherwise he would have had to sleep in our room with me, my wife and two children.
6.3 Good
Pros: Near the track perfect location
Cons: No one there to help once my card stop working or even unswear the phone on the card really bad had to get help from a security guard that was on that eve needs addressing for sure
6.8 Good
Pros: This is a highly automated hotel with access codes emailed to you beforehand. There is one staff member to serve the usual very scant French “breakfast”. We stayed there as I was testing at the adjacent circuit so the location was perfect. The charge for parking and breakfast is high and as it’s in the middle of nowhere to pay for use of the security car park is unnecessary. There is nowhere else to get breakfast so we had to take it as there are no other options.
Cons: The breakfast and WiFi plus some instructions about the hotel.
