Staff were very friendly and willing to help with advice on where to eat and places to visit etc the only problem was the noise from the wood yard which was at the side of the hotel but the smell of the pine trees being cut was loveley
The hotel had a warm and inviting atmosphere and I liked the spanish decor. Thye rooms were spacious and well appointed. The staff spoke English well enough and they friendly and professional. We really enjoyed our stay. nothing
It is a sharming little hotel with very friendly staff. The breakfast was very good. The caffe is open all day for drinks and light snacks. The teracce is a bit too noisy in the evenings and you are greeted by a donkey early in the morning :)
we like the warm welcome, very friendly and profecional we had room 212, when coming out of the lift, one get very surpriced over a small step in the floor, it is very dangerous,
i tjink a rail in bath for older people would be helpful. also i think with the restrictions on what you can take on airoplane, theavailability of a weighing scales for luggage would be helpful
Absolutely beautiful. Room we stayed in was just lovely. Everything about the hotel was fantastict. Staff all very friendly and very helpful. Sitting outside was very peaceful. We stayed here during San Antolin festival so the peace and quiet of the hotel was very welcome. Will definitely come back and request the same room. Nothing, everything was great
Hotel was very nice. Lovely terrace outside. Very nice setting. Room comfortable, old country style.
Very pleasant hotel in good location in large grounds when you eventually find it :-) .... very friendly staff and breakfast at 10 euro was good value ... a vert enjoyable and relaxed stay highly recommened Hard to find ... The hotel is located on the edge of Lekeito which has an interesting one way system which our Sat Nav could not compehend ... it is best to appoarch Lekeito from the south along the BI-2405 or get onto that road using the ring road from the BI-2238 if you approach from the west... you will then see a sign saying Hotel Zubieta 175 metres ... effectively the hotel and grounds are on your right from this sign behind the wall ... but need to look carefully as the entrance is through an arch in a corner of a small carpark which you can not see unless you look backwards having driven pass it ... especially if someone has parked a van blocking the entrance from view .......
Friendly staff, lovely hotel in a beautiful setting
The room (actually more like an apartment) was spacious and comfortable. The view from the deck was wonderful.
This is a wonderful small apartment hotel, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and the island in the bay in the town of Lekietio. This is a renovated villa, and owner has done a terrific job. The innkeepers live on site, are extremely nice, but speak no English, which was no impediment for us although we do not speak Spanish. The rooms are quiet and tidy, the rustic hotel spotless. There was a small kitchenette and sitting room in our unit, with a large comfortable bedroom and bathroom. The innkeepers will supply a continental breakfast if you request it, but you can purchase your own supplies in town and make whatever you wish. There is plenty to do, visit the island at low tide, explore the town, and hike on the extensive walking paths.
Beautiful hugh rooms with fantastic views in all directions. Although the host only spke spanish, she was wonderful.
The view is absolutely stunning. Village on one side, sea on the other. All from the same room
its an excellent hotel ... we enjoyed in its environment,, so comfortable,, the staff was are helpful,, i recommend this hotel for
here and there wear and tear is showing
Location near beach and harbor with restaurants nearby. We had a flat tire while staying at the hotel and the staff was very cooperative about helping us get it changed and taking us to a tire repair shop to get us back on the road. THis was above and beyond the call of duty. My thanks to the receptionist and the technician.
Safe parking The hotel was in need of a significant amounbt of decoration
Nice hotel with a beautiful terrace by the sea and an excellent location near the old parts of the town.
We got upgraded room, with seaview and balcony. The breakfast was excellent. add Upgraded room, seawiev and balcony! Add to 4.) We had a very good value, due to offseason. I have booked a room for July, but the price is about 40% higher, breakfast not included
This hotel is situated in a prime beachside location, however it is begining to look a bit tired.
Value for money meals at the hotel restaurant. Improvements needed in facilities as general
beach view from room was very nice, and Deba is a pleasant town with good atmosphere. spa would benefit from some investment, as it looks a bit tired.
Excellent food and the Menu del Dia was extremly good value and delicious. The restaurant environment was very stuffy which disocuraged us from eating here - and the waitresses did not speak to us at all, even to apologise when one of them tipped my husbands main course all over the table!
Proximity to the beach not well sign posted and difficult to find because of building work blocking the entrance.
We only stayed one night and therewere no problems at all. Staff were very helpful.
The bed was comfortable. The spa was nice. The restaurant food was not good, but for the price you couldn't complain. A shame because the view is so good. It is better to eat somewhere in town.
Nice enough place although basic and a little dated. Parking was difficult at times. Needed updating and a thorough clean. Seemed expensive for standard of hotel.
Location on the beachsite Their Spa and Wellness is very poor. It doen't smell good, it doesn't look good, it is out of date and dirty; ready for a big maintenance and overhaul. They still try to charge you for the use of the pool, what I refused.
The location. The room was lovely, comfy bed, with a very nice bathroom. The obliging, tho not terribly efficient, staff. The excellent breakfast. The food in the restaurant (simple, well cooked, nice size portions (not too much) No on street parking as very busy on beach road. We used the hotel garage @ 10 euros a night. A bit of a walk into town, which we did not mind, as the hotel was very quiet at night. We slept very well!
wiew to the sea no restaurant to eat
we did appreciate especially the comfortable terrace with a splendid view on the beach. Ideal to have a relaxed aperitive in private with a splendid view
The staff were fantastic; really helpful and friendly. The room was fully cleaned every day. The restaurant food was mainly very good. The daily menu is good value. The location is perfect. Parking can be a problem in the daytime. A la carte in the restaurant was rather pricey, although the quality was very high.
Very spacious room full equiped - Nice area (beach infront the hotel) - Typical spanish breakfast (pinchos). More smile from the staff would be welcome....
The excellent position, overlooking a fabulous beach, it's proximity to the town for restaurants, local interest etc and the fact that Bilbao is only 40 miles away when it's time to get the ferry home ! Access to the hotel can be difficult at week-ends because the beach gets so busy (worth paying for the hotel parking - unless you have a disabled badge, like me). Hotel does not do evening meals so you have to walk into town to eat.
the localization was very nice though the town where it is localized is not easy to reach, especially in a rainy night...
right on beach 15mins walk to town lovely walk on river footpath view great bar and sundeck a bit scruffy but view made ip for this
Location, lock up parking, very comfortable room No food available on Sunday night and none in the nearby village
The location to the beach
Excellent location and all around. Lekietio is vibrant and offers much. Parking is arranged free after you find the hotel. Look for the cathederal when driving there.
Location and staff none
The hotel staff was extremely helpful. Undaunted by a language barrier, the woman at the desk went out of her way to help us with parking and chilling down some wine. She made us feel at home. And we loved our view, in this seventeenth-century house, of the medieval church.
It was a small nice village by the coast. A genuin village with a lot of fishingboats. There was good restaurants even though at a higher level of price. A possiblity to get a bigger breakfast to a extra cost. Some extra bread and cheese, ham and eggs would be fine if that could be a possibility.
The location, in main square just as short walk from beach and nice bars was ideal. Lekeitio is a small town with nice port, bars and town beach. Ideal for a few days. Free wifi. Only 7 rooms so nice and small, owner very friendly but had limited English It has just been renovated but as it's an old building it was a bit noisey from the floor boards above
Everything, starting with the hosts and finish with location.Highly recommend and I suggest to everyone who travel in the Basque country,to stop for one night in this hotel. They never regret.Positive 100%.Cristian from Toronto
the location, the style of hotel rooms
Great place but expensive for what it is, well worth a stop though.
very nice clean room with view. extremely friendly hosts. Reasonable price none
visit the surrounding, perfect basis to visit Basque coast
the view, rooms and decor It would be nice if they provided lunch as it is a nice place to stay for a whole day
Beautifully designed hotel with helpful, attentive staff and wonderful food. The location and views are really beautiful. Swimming pool and gardens are immaculate. A lovely place to relax or explore the northern spanish coast.
Fantastic localization, with great sea view. Nice design hotel with very kind personnel. The restaurant was closed in the day we stayed there. not so big room for the expectations created by the photos.
beautiful hotel, very friendly people, very nice surroundings. We enjoyed it very much!
Nice hotel, nice rooms, nice position in front of the Sea. The owners of the hotel are very friendly and the woman is a first class cook!! Perfect for business and also for a romantic weekend... I will return there for sure!
Location was very convenient for accessing the various parts of the Basque Coastline (Bizkaia) that my husband was interested in for surfing. There was an unfortunate incident of a fire alarm going off in the middle of the night for 3 hours. However, the staff made an effort to discount our stay for the disruption.
It was well situated. The staff were helpful and the evening meal was very good value for money. Nothing to do with the hotel, but our car had a problem that was fixed by a local mechanic. Only it wasn't fixed and we had to take to a Mercedes garage in Gijon.
The room was very beautiful and comfortable. the air conditioner didn't worked (so we had to sleep with the windows open which helped enter a very cool breeze) and there was a big celebration downstairs so we couldn't eat dinner there and it was a little difficult to sleep later, due to the noise.
Read Books The meager breakfast No hot water for the Showers ! Worst hotel we have stayed in.
The manager John, spoke fluent English. He went out of his way to make our stay as interesting and enjoyable as possible. Very good value for money
Excellent customer service; good food and comfortable room None
Convenient to visit Gernika and only 2 hours from Santander Dinner at €18 was expensive for the menu available.
What a beatiful view from the window!
Bloodsucking parasite insects in bed
The staff is very friendly and helpful and the dinner at the restaurant was really great (and only 18€ per person).
