Pros. It was filthy and there were cockroaches freely in the room. I only booked it to put luggage and get ready for a midnight flight out of South America so I didn't sleep there. The other guests I met there at the smoking balcony were friendly and happy with the price (17$), but they were South American... For me it served the purpose.
Cons. It serves its purpose for low budget travelers, and the neighborhood is central. they should spray and defumigate against insects.
Pros. Bed was quite comfortable, staff was friendly.
Cons. Hallways too dark, room too bright, location not good for nighttime travelers, no stores or restaurants open aside from a chain restaurant if you arrive at a later hour. No outlets to charge a laptop. No outside beverages allowed yet there is no bar within the hostel.
