Excellent 10.0
Pros: Again we were blessed with amazing sightings and thanks to rangers, guides and staff our stay was fabulous
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We have stayed in many bush lodges over the years and Elephant Plains is up there with the best. The location, accommodation, meals, game drives and walks were all superb. The highlight of our visit was seeing a female leopard dragging her kill to the nearby thicket whilst out on a walk with Kaiser. A once in a lifetime experience. Thanks especially to Remember, Decide, Onnie, Jane and Yolandi, as well as Kaizer and Colbert for the friendliness and excellent service we received during our stay.
Cons: The artificial plants on the tables in the dining room - they really spoil the natural feel that prevails throughout the rest of the lodge. Please think about replacing them with something natural.
Excellent 9.0
Cons: Access roads not in a good condition
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Safaris Room Food
Cons: Not easily reachable by car (but by plane should be amazing) Internet can be improved and made available at the lodges Manager staff could be a bit more welcoming
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The highlight of my trip was the safari. I saw the big five in 1 day. The guide was a very wonderful person. And the spotters were 👏 amazing 👏. It was an experience of a life time. I will definitely be going with the will of the Almighty again.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Our request was to see lots of leopards and Neil, our guide, delivered 4 in 1 drive as well as 4 other leopard sightings during our 3 night stay. We also have 4 lion sightings. The food was delicious.
Cons: WiFi signal needs to be stronger.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The staff, accommodation and location are absolutely excellent. The food is outstanding. What a gem.
Cons: nothing
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Friendly staff from when we arrived to when we left! Exceeded all expectations & will definitely be back!
Excellent 10.0
Cons: Nothing this place is amazing, magical and allowed me to see these animals so close and felt safe at all times. Elephant Plains was the highlight of my trip to South Africa

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Staff was super friendly and efficient, service was excellent. Location was awesome, loved it from start to finish, will definitely be back.
Cons: No cappacino's :-)
Excellent 9.0
Pros: James - excellent guide!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Very relaxing, great facilities, very friendly and helpful staff. Great game drives.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The unfenced lodge gives a real feel of the "bush". The safari rides were awesome and our guide James was always up to the challenge to please all our long list of sightings. The staff was super kind and helpful and the place is neat. Food was quite good. I would come back there again.
Cons: They didn't catered for our dietary requirements we gave in advance . Also, albeit the special ocassion was anniversary, the bed arrangement was 2 singles. However it was quickly rectified on day 2.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Perfect hospitality making it an exceptional expierience as always
Cons: nothing
Okay 5.0
Pros: The food was amazing, and the staff were very friendly. Our guide was the best part of the whole stay.
Cons: 10 pm you were sent to your room, and all electric outlets were turned off until morning. You could not charge your electronics after 10pm. We wanted to sit around the fire pit and talk with other guests, but were informed its lights out at 10pm. If you want a military style vacation you will love this place. They tell you when you eat, have a snack, and when you have to go to bed. Once you are in your room at night you are not allowed to leave. The rooms are not rooms, let me explain. We were under the impression for 750.00 per night that the rooms would be just that a room with electric, a/c, and wifi. Also, drinks are not included with the nightly rate. The rooms are on stilts and are made of tent material. The front our the rooms that goes out onto the balcony do have glass and a door. It was so hot in the tent that the ceiling fan was not helping to cool the room down. The floors made lots of noise when you would walk from the bedroom to the bathroom. Our neighbors had their glass doors open, but screen pulled to get some air into the room, while they went to lodge to get a drink to come back and find a troop of monkeys in their tent room destroying everything. They also had a special at the time for 918.00 for two nights, but when I asked about getting a reimbursement of the difference we paid I was told we will get back with you. I still have not heard, so I guess once they have your money thats the end of that conversation. If you want to be told when to go to your room, and you enjoy expensive camping this is the place for you. I was under the impression for spending 1500.00 for 2 nights plus tax and drinks that this was a luxury resort. Contacted booking.com about the price being lower, as they advertise price match, but they wouldn't help us either. Posted below is a screen shot from booking.com with the lower price. Live and learn I guess. Hopefully the photos and my review will help others with making a decision about staying here.
Excellent 10.0
Cons: The most enjoyable holiday I have ever had in Kruger National Park. The food was fabulous (perhaps too much)! The game drives amazing and the elephant that visited the lodge one morning, unforgettable. Will definitely return.

Excellent 9.2
Pros: The lodge is just renovated and it is nicely located within the Sabi Sand. The staff and the rangers are great and the food is very good. Nice view on a field with some animals and nice little swimming pool.
Cons: The rooms were a bit small and not really in line with the standard of the hotel
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The setting is exquisite. The lodge, having had a refresh in November 2019, is in exceptional condition. The overall cleanliness and the friendliness of all the staff made for a fantastic few days
Cons: Not Nkorho's fault - the only downside was the 3-hour drive to and from Skukusa airport.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Amazing location Great safaris Great food and staff very kind
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Excellent guides, great location, delicious food.
Cons: Basic room with poor air-conditioning
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Great ranger and tracker - knowledgeable and friendly and determined that we should get the most out of every game drive. Lovely pool and bar area with fab views of watering hole.
Cons: Food was tasty but nothing special.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Amazing place & lovely people! We had the best time here, the rooms were nice and the food was very good. Our guide and tracker (Callum & Chris) were amazing and we learnt so much, and saw so many animals every day - we even had a 'big 5 drive'! We particularly loved the fact that you could be in the pool whilst watching elephants, zebra, warthogs and even a rhino come to the watering hole. Our first safari experience was very special and we can thank Nkorho for that! Would definitely come back.
Cons: The shower door was very stiff (almost got stuck in there) and the door knob in the bathroom kept falling off but these were really minor things and didn't bother us too much!
Excellent 8.3
Pros: It is all about location: we stayed 4 nights and had great sightings of leopards, lions and wild dogs in the first 2 day's. The other 2 day's it was a bit less (no leopards and wild dogs anymore), but that is what happens during Safari. The lodge itself was nice, but overpriced
Cons: The ranger seems to have lost the enthusiasm for the job. He was rude to some guest that did not speak english too well. On the other hand we had a great tracker.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Wow! Amazing place and amazing staff. The room: very comfortable, nice bathroom and a very cool outdoor private shower! Game drives: I know it’s sometimes more luck, but we saw so many animals it’s crazy!! We had Call as our ranger and Chris as our tracker- they were so nice, and it really felt like they are taking the extra mile to help us see more animals. The place: there’s a waterhole/dam near camp and it brings a nice amount of animals. Food: great food! Very tasty. You will not be hungry here (we actually felt like we were over fed haha). We didn’t go on any bushwalks because we saw so many animals on the drive and preferred to drive a bit more than to walk.
Cons: Really nothing bad!
Good 7.9
Pros: Nkhoro is a small facility, so not more than 16 or so people in the lodge at any given point in time. We are vegetarians and had let them know in advance, and they took great effort to make sure we had vegetarian food at all meals. The staff is friendly and helpful. We saw a leopard mom with 2 small cubs and that was a real treat.
Cons: The size of the reserve is very small. They are not allowed to drive into Kruger or any of the other private concessions. The main issue was that we constantly saw constuction/green scaffolding cloth, buildings, and other man-made structures during our game drives, which didn't give much of a sense of being in the bush (we had just spent 4 days self-driving in Kruger, so the difference was stark). Also, the drive to the lodge (esp. via Acornhoek) was terribly nerve-racking - filled with huge pot-holes for several miles and the staff completely neglected to mention this to us. The place is a pain to reach, especially if you are spending time in Kruger. The animals are used to jeeps and people and aren't as 'wild' as they are in Kruger.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Excellent structure, very good game drives, experienced guides. For sure you will see the Big 5.

Excellent 9.0
Pros: Awesome and a great spread
Excellent 10.0
From arrival to departure we felt special. Treated like VIPs. Food was superior,................actually over the top! We only stayed for one night and more would do our digestive systems harm!!! The safari drive was wonderful..... our guide went out of his way to let us encounter as many wild animals as possible.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: the room design
Cons: no WiFi, bad road condition
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Andrew is the best safari guide
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The people are friendly and welcoming
Cons: The rooms inside where too small in the inside
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The food and friendly, professional staff
Cons: The room design (very curved) means its total size is on the small side, but this was not a big issue for a short stay like ours. The massage was very good.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Breakfast exceptional overlooking the waterhole with exceptional and friendly service and marvellous food. We loved the chalet, the attention to detail, the friendly staff and guide. It was our anniversary and we had a special dinner with flowers and scrumptious food. Our bed was strewn with petals. Just cannot be better.
Cons: nothing
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything from the moment we arrived was just PERFECT. The staff were super friendly, the food was excellent. If I had to find fault I would have to say the food was too much :) (if that is possible) It was truly an experience of a lifetime, we had wonderful game drives. Especially when we found our open game drive vehicle being passed by a pride of 15 lions. We will never forget our stay at Hoyo Hoyo safari lodge. A very big 'Thank you"' to all the staff and our guide.
Cons: Can't think of anything

Excellent 10.0
Pros: The villas were majestic, the service exemplary, the staff exquisite and the tracker/rangers very well prepared. The customer experience was improved by very careful and studied choices of the property, like keeping the same ranger and butler for each couple/family even when uneconomic for them
Cons: Nothing, everything was perfect!
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Location and game view out of this world Breakfast brilliant. Dinner average. Room above expectations
Cons: Dinner could have been better
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything. A warm welcome from wonderful staff and we arrived to a delicious gourmet lunch. Off then on our first game drive with our excellent ranger Justin and eagle-eyed tracker Willies- they both clearly love their jobs and their enthusiasm and knowledge ensured we had a perfect safari experience. We were lucky enough to see the big 5 and even saw 3 leopards together. Our room was beautiful and spotlessly clean. We cannot get over the variety and quality of the meals we had. Thank you also to our excellent butler Stan.
Cons: Our only negative was that we had to leave.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Rooms very confortable. Very Nice game drives. Good excellent !
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything exceeded our expectations. The staff felt like family after 3 nights. I cried when we left! Can’t wait to return; this is the most special place on earth. Also - they’ve recently undergone a renovation, so the rooms and shared places look a million times better than the photos.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: All! Especially the staff. Justin, our ranger, who gave us so many insights and background of the wildlife and its preservation, Willis, our tracker, with incredible experience and sight for details, not to forget about his perfect Moccacino (Coffee with Chocolate). Then the staff in the hotel, July and Glory, who read the wishes from our minds, and the managing team (Mike and Tanya). We really felt like being part of the family and would 100% recommend this place to stay for a great and unique experience!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The lodge is simply a dream, it oversees the savannah and you can see animals drinking water from a pond when having breakfast. The suits are amazing: decorated at their best, beds are super comfy and the private pool is a gem. Moreover the staff is super nice and they are always smiling and taking care of you. Food is superb and the rangers are very knowledgeable and we got to see all of the animals during the game drives. I can’t wait to go back! I really recommend this lodge.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The staff was wonderful, greeting after each arrival with a wet cloth for hands. The ranger on the drives was very knowledgeable, and patient with all questions.
Cons: Housekeeping was spotty. Came back from a drive and ther was no water for a shower and no face cloth, which I needed for a cool compress to my eye, as I was having some eye difficulty.

Excellent 9.6
It is our 1st time to the bush and this has been a pleasant stay From the food to the staff to the safari drives. This hotel has outdone itself.. highly recommend staying here
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Our game driver was extremely knowledgeable and the manager went out of her way to assist us in our next stops in Kruger.
Cons: Room was cold and during our stay the chef changed and the second chef was not as good as the first
Okay 5.0
Pros: It would be varied and not get the same kind of food. Include oats and porridge.
Cons: Limited variety on meats and the bar fridgedidn’t have wines and gines/whiskey.
Okay 4.0
Pros: Breakfast was fine not completely what one expect. The location is great.
Cons: WIFI was for all practical purposes non existing. Poor reception and more of than on. Rooms is not up to standard for the rate you pay. Floors was sticky. One wash basin was badly cracked (Old cracks). Should have been upgraded long ago. Everything is build around game drives. For the price more facilities should be available. The add refer to spa treatments. This was not available. The add show photo of goma and refer to two dinners taken there. Never happen and we never shaw the goma. Orientation at arrival was very poorly done.

Pros: Leopard Hills is an amazing place & we were lucky to have booked during the “lockdown special” which made it affordable for South Africans to visit. The highlights were the game drives & bush walk with the very knowledgeable Game Rangers & Trackers, Stuart & Congive made each game drive memorable - they truly enhanced the experience for us. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They tailored the drives to our interests. We saw sightings that we would not normally have seen. The rooms were spacious & beautifully decorated with wonderful views of the Bush . The food was good & they were happy to cater for my dietary/allergy needs for mealtimes. We loved having our meals on our private deck & in the lapa
Excellent 10.0
Pros: This is such a special property. Thank you to the entire Leopard Hills team for an unforgettable stay. You guys are the best. Can’t wait to visit again.

Pros: We saw the Big 5 thanks to our really experienced guide (Omega, and tracker Tuso). The lodge overlooks a flowing river where there are hippos permanently, and is apparently part of a male leopard’s territory so we were fortunate to see him patrol inside the lodge area. There are also other activities such as bush walks, fishing that are available upon request. Good food and drink options, rooms are clean and well-furnished. Will return if we come back to the Sabi Sands area again.
Cons: Nothing much here!
Excellent 8.8
Pros: A magical stay at Inyati. Staff were incredibly friendly and we had the most amazing guide who showed us the most wonderful time.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: It was a beautiful place with great food. Met nice people from all over the world and staff was very nice. Best part of the game drives was the off roading through river beds and sometimes just through the bush. We had the thrill of tracking a leopard and her baby and found another leopard with his kill in the tree eating as hyenas gathered below.
Cons: The wildlife wasn’t as dense in Sabie Sands as we expected and we couldn’t leave to go outside or back to room without escort due to resort not being fenced.

Pros: safaris were nice and we saw a lot of animals. staff was very friendly and professional, accommodation was excellent.
Cons: the food was ok, but not excellent. I missed cheese, fresh tomatoes and fruits. the ranger was driving too fast, didn't stop at every animal or birds. it looked as he was in a hurry all the time. and for us it wasn't all about lions and leopards. drives off road were nice if we were going for few hundreds meters but not few hours.
Good 6.0
Pros: Great safaris with super knowledgable rangers and trackers. The lodge is beautifully decorated and the rooms were really great giving you a true feeling of being amongst the bush in South Africa.
Cons: Attention to detail was poor and far below what is expected at this price bracket. A few things were missed from dirty coffee maker to a broken fan in the room, unfortunately not the true 5 star experience that was hoped for.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Wonderful staff, extraordinary location, amazing atmosphere!!! The game drives were out of this world, definitely a trip of a lifetime.
Cons: Leaving this paradise.
Excellent 9.6
Tintswalo was absolute perfection. We found it difficult to choose a Safari based on all the positive reviews but made the right choice in choosing tintswalo. The level of service was incredible, the Manyeleti game reserve offered us the opportunity to see a ton of animals, our guide and tracker (Beckson and Eric) were phenomenal. They fed us exceedingly well and had all sorts of little touches that made the stay extra special.
