Not terrible for the price. great location to tube, bus, and trains.
Beds were terribly hard and not enough hot water for bathing.
It is located right next to the Paddington station, so it was easy to get to even though my plane arrived in London at 11 pm. The room was clean and the bathroom was mostly adequate.
The hallways were very narrow and shabby, I mean really shabby with peeling wallpaper, and dings and dirt. The mattresses were uncomfortable, the toilet wouldn't flush unless you pumped the handle as if on a waterwell. The window did not lock. The walls were paper thin and you could hear the noises from the other rooms and the hallway. The elevator was slow and the stairs narrow and awkward. I chose it because everything else was extremely expensive and I would stay there again if I have to. If you prefer more comfortable accommodations, this is not a hotel for you though.
The facilities of this hotel are very good and the location is excellent. The rooms a decent size and clean.
The staff were less than enthusiastic.
proximity to paddington railway station
window would not stay open, as it was quite warm in the room, i found that the fan supplied in the room did not help as I prefer fresh air to come in via the window, i understand that there is a safety issue and windows cannot be opened too widely but there should be a way of having it open even a few inches to allow fresh air to come into the room
Pleasant, well placed. Pity about charging extra for breakfast. Most hotels in the Paddington area include a buffet, or continental breakfast in the fee.
extra charge for breakfast
Horrible. It was realy cold in London, bud they refused to switch the central heating on in the hotel, eventhough I was freezing in the room. They switched the heating off every morning, so there was 10 degrees. During the rain there was water in the room. If you pay with a credit card you have to pay more. it is definitely NOT a four star hotel!
Inexpensive and availability of family rooms
Shabby decor and old fashioned grubby bathrooms. We spent the mimimum time possible in the room
This hotel deserve no star. It was dirty, the room, the towels, the floor the bathroom and the bed. Everything was dirty and old and overused.
The staff were exceptionally friendly and very helpful.
Room needs repainting and light switches were dirty, instead of mattress covers they were covered with plastic making for a very uncomfortable nights sleep.
Location was near train station
Reception of staff was terribly rude and unhelpful.
the noise, due to the thin walls, you could hear the other people walking and talking while in the room. And the internet was a big problem because while in the room we couldnt access the net, since they kept asking for a password or sumthing. so it got quite annoying. maybe you could have given us the password and username so we could use it.
24 hour service - bags secure on day of checkout. Staff very accommodating.
From what I saw, it was not a 4 star, maybe a good 2 star would about sum it up. Room was fine, but needed refurbishment. Location was good and the room rate was good for central(ish) London.
