la posizione no hall , no bar
Location is good. Not far from the train station and not far from St. Lourdes.
The staff were helpful, and the room was neat, tidy and clean. The restaurant had good food although a bit pricey.
close to the train station, front desk is open late and the staff are very helpfull.nice view nothing
Nice bathroom. Being able to sit on the terrace to have a drink, nice view Yes, the food, it was too international and not very well cooked or presented. We were 'lumped together' with a large coach party despite being independant. It would have been nice to have eaten in the other dining room, but it appearaed closed, although I did not ask.
Cleanliness of rooms and staff were so friendly and helpful. Food very good. Hotel directly across from Train Station for ease of travel. No.
View fom the room As i work in the hotel business myself i was appalled to see that there was no night porter on duty during the night. I came back from being out at 2am in the morning went to my room to open the door keycard wouldn t work. I had to sleep in the lobby on one of the couches for 4 and a half hours before reception staff came in to do me a key for my room. I was so annoyed. I asked for a reduction in the rate so that was agreed on my last night. If there was a fire in the hotel i dread to think what would happen as there is no night porter on at night in the hotel.
The Restaurant Family room are very small and not comfortable at all
The lovely staff, patio dining and pool. I was a bit disappointed with the quality and decor of the bedroom, yet the bathroom was fine.
Very close to TGV train station in Lourdes. Beautiful exterior facade in historic old building. Well maintained and very clean. Small, poorly decorated rooms with uncomfortable beds. Long walk to Lourdes Grotto and not close to any decent restaurants.
Only the fact that it's close to the train station. We have booked a triple w/ 1 extra bed as stated per hotel policies & wrote this in the remarks section & asked for confirmation (2 adults & 2 kids), but nor Booking.com nor the hotel manager have read the comment or took it into consideration, so upon arrival & after a long journey from Paris, the assistant manager told us that they can't put extra bed in a triple room so we have to manage or they give us a bigger room for extra money which we didn't accept because the rooms do not match w/ the price (overpriced, extremely small versus other hotels in the area)+ it was not a decent solution at all, they should have replied to our comment for the bed before arrival so we decide on our budget & Not having a surprise. After long argument & keeping the kids tired waiting for more than 1 hour, we asked to talk to manager, she (assistant) told us he's not there. After insisting,he showed up & again argued & end up by suggesting a smoking room which was full of cigarette smoke & you can hardly breathe (very healthy for kids)Of course we didn't accept. We asked to go to other hotel but said they will take anyway the price for the room even if we don't stay. They had empty family rooms not stated in the site which we saw but wanted us to pay more money than confirmed upon booking.FINALLY, They gave us a room w/ 5 beds which we didn't need,on the roof, that was worth a 1 * HOTEL:shower on your knee so u don't hit your head w/ the ceiling,
Our second time staying at Best Western Lourdes especially for comfort and parking and convenience to the Grotto.
Prime location, across the street from the train station and very close to Lourdes Grotto. We took the TGV from Barcelona and had two transfers. Lovely staff. Excellent buffet breakfast. Lourdes is heavenly and one of the highlights of our 14-day European trip.
The staff. Dog friendly. Small overpriced rooms
the hotel was close to the Railway station which was good as we had an early train out of Lourdes. the hotel served adequate meals. The hotel closed at midnight, which we did not expect, so no late trips to the sanctuaries as we had to rush back before midnight. The hotel bath tub has no shower curtain all the water spilled on to the floor while taking a bath, made the bath all wet. The room had only one plug point so we could either watch Tv or charge our cell phones camera etc.
The reception was late open, that was imported for us because we came late bij TGV out of Paris.
very friendly staff, had some problems with the car, they helped us much
The extremely warm reception we received throughout our stay. For the price and hotel category the value for money was unbeatable and we will certainlly recommend to others and will return each year. Nothing of any importance.
easily accessible for town. FAirly old fashioned but ok accomodation. Parking very tight behind the hotel -but at least there was parking!
Its location which is only a walking distance to the Sanctuary & in the main street (for shopping) Room size and comfortability (too small)
The room had a big balcony facing the main road , wonderful to sit and sip wine and watch the world go by. Excellent location.
The room very very small and was not clean
Just the fact that it is just a few minutes away from the Sanctuaries and restaurants are near. It was stinking in the bathroom the first time we entered, and stayed that way until we left! i cant say it was clean anywhere, even the stairway. it was only the lobby that was bright enough to see! carpets are dirty, room was dark. never to stay here again and not to be recommended.
The sheets and towels were clean. It was very close to the grotto which was convenient as we had gone to visit the shrine at Lourdes It was very noisy.
I like the location and a frinedly staff, but the room is stuffy.
Great hotel staff...very friendly and the service was first class.
Value for money, proximity to the Lourdes Shrine None
Friendly English speaking staff The breakfast was hardly a breakfast.
Convenient. Visit the Grotto in a short distance. Right in the center of shopping area.
The hotel staff was very helpful the car parking as the hotel is in the city center without this parking its a problem good breakfast Its not very importent but I booked two double rooms but I got two twin bed rooms. That toillets in these rooms where terrible too small we have to keep the toilet door open when we use the toilet.
the stuff is very freindly you can hear much noice from other room
The View, it's closeness to the Shrine room smelt a little musty
Staff was very fRIENDLY.... Room alittle too small for a family of three,,,,,,,,,,,need a bigger room when traveling with family
convenient location and parking
Beautiful view from our room of the hills and the church at the Lourdes grotto. Excellent dining room and cafe for dinner and breakfast. Good for a short stay.....room very small but comfortable and a fabulous view
Centrally but quiet hotel, with an excellent 'gourmet' kitchen. It is fully word it 4 stars. Also the internet-service, which is available at the reception (free), we did appreciate a lot.
i felt the room that i was in was atllittle small as im a tall person!!!1
Location Very dated
We were given 2 rooms at the top floor. They were relatively spacious and very clean with comfortable beds. The bathroom was large enough to allow 2 people to move around freely and even passed the standard for cleanliness of my finicky son. There was a heater in each room including the bathroom which really helped prevent you ending up with goose bumps on stepping out of the shower. Breakfast was simple but more than adequate for people who are not into big American breakfast. Location is midway between the train station and the Lourdes Sanctuaries; a few meters from the city center and Chateau Fort. It's a 10 min leisurely walk to the Sanctuaries which my 82 year old mother traversed without much difficulty. However, add 2-3min more going back as the hotel is located on a gradually rising slope. The owners, Alain and Oksana were very warm, friendly and accommodating. Oksana not only helped me do our laundry she even brought us to the train station when we checked out (Thank you Oksana I really appreciated that as our luggage apparently weighed a ton). To stay in this hotel is to be part of the family. I would definitely recommend this hotel to those are not afraid of climbing up stairs. Initially, it was not easy to locate as the hotel has only a small brass plaque to identify it. I think they should highlight the fact that in front of the hotel is a big pay parking square and opposite it is the Adriatic hotel. The hotel has no lift. Our rooms being at the top floor provided a bit of a challenge to my mother. We, however, did not change rooms because we really liked them and the privacy they provided. Portions of the floor were a bit squeaky which didn't really bother us except that I kept wondering if the guests below we're affected. All in all our room was relatively quiet despite being on the short cut route to the city center and Chateau Fort from the Sanctuaries.
I like the price. the location is 10 minute walk to the attractions. no heater and it was very cold. the shower will take 30 minutes to warm.
The only things we liked was that the Hotel was within walking distance to the Lourdes Grotto and that they do the beds daily. This hotel should not even be on Booking.com listing. No star should be granted to this hotel. The so-called front desk looked up our reservation in a handwritten bookinglist and could even find us under his own handwriting until I pointed out my name even though I read it upside down. The rooms were never vacuumed while we were there, the shower has a broken handle so that we need to shower with one hand holding the shower head and only the other hand to soap and there is no place to put your soap. We had two separate beds laid in opposite side of the room which should one fit one bed.
Very friendly staff
Its at a good location. The hotel staff did heed to my request to turn the heater on. Not having any staff at the hotel at most time can be annoying if you want some information. bed mattress definitely need a change. very tiny bathroom.
The hotel is basic & cheap & not too far from the main attractions.
the location is near the grote the owner (a couple) disputed loudly during sleeping time at night. We were at third floor, they were at 4th floor, so we couldn't sleep at all
the rooms are too noisy you can hear the neighbours from each side and each floors
The family that managed the Hotel are very friendly and helpful. No, nothing that I did not like.
cosy and friendly washroom was very very small, taxi booking made did not match price quoted at the start
low cost poor state of decoration of room, barely adequate heating
It was a bit far from the Sanctuary.
Rooms, cleanining woman, Resturant, Quitenes, WiFi Online booking reliability: I booked 3 rooms, but when I arrived the sistem was showing just 1 room booked (but quoting the cost of 3 rooms) . At the end the hotel manager gave me 2 rooms becouse the hotel was fully booked
simple but good quality/price relation and the food was excelent
I think the campanile represents good comfort and value. Nothong
Great location, near Santuary,Hotel is hold but well kept, room small but comfortable, with great view of Lurdes Basilica. Food is OK.This is our second visit at this Hotel. no
Location in relation to the St Bernadette attractions which are the main reason people stay in Lourdes.Room basic, small but clean and serviced daily No coffee making equipment in the room. Not keen on the menu which was a fairly basic french style
reception staff were very pleasant and helpful Breakfast was minimal
Only the location ! Room condition was totally different from the picture that I had choosen in the internet
Beautiful, elegant building with breathtaking views! The friendliest and most helpful staff of all the hotels we stayed in! Will come back again and again! Only that there were no air conditioned rooms and we happened to be there during the warmest season. But fans were available and worked out very well in the cooler evenings.
The location to the Lourdes grotto was excellent.
I picked this hotel because it was advetised as located 50m from the Sancturary and since my mom has difficulties walking, this hotel seemed more suitable. True, but Excelsior still farther away from the Grotte and Basilica than the other hotels located on the left hand side (if you are facing the basilica). dusty courtains, dirty (used bathtab) when we just entered. In general, the facilities are quite old and need to be refurbished - the parfume used to kill the smell makes it even worse. Food (breakfast), except for croissants hardly eadible, not tasty, coffee hardly digestible, kitchen staff careless.
Friendly staff. Clean and well organised. Not a bad point, but tea and coffee making facilities could be supplied in room (kettle etc)
I liked the convenient location and the spacious dining and lounge areas, a nice average priced hotel. no
convenience to the area we visited.
Staff was very friendly. Rooms were simple but clean.
Good price, clean room, hot water... not a bad deal for staying for just one night... but don't have much expectation on the facilities, it's pretty much like a dorm room. The location is very difficult to find as it's deviated from the main street, even local people can't tell the whereabout of the hotel. Don't recommend to arrive late at night like us.
The street numbers are ridiculous. they are not consecutive. We had a difficult time finding this hotel.
breakfasts; location close to the station; quiet; bathrooms (to all rooms) no tvs in rooms
in town centre. room condition not clean. desk top smelly. furnishing very old.
The hotel staff is very friendly even though their English is very limited. The man at the reception was so kind to even dial the phone to return the call of my sister in the United States who called very early in the morning while I was still asleep. The hotel is also a near walking distance to the train station. The bath towels are small...just a bit bigger than hand towels.
The shower Not even basic amenities such as kettle or beside lamp provided. Cheaper hotel next door looked far nicer. Staff unpleasant and made us look through a rubbish bin for our booking sheet. Matress less than 1 inch thick.
We had a trouble using the door locks. Thus, you will have a feeling that you are not safe and secure. Also, on the website, it indicated free WiFi. Apparently, there is no WiFi. You will be given a wired gadget that does not even work.
The price is very affordable and reasonable. Elizabet who greeted us and checking us in is also very nice. The bed and the key to the room look old/run down.
Hotel is simple, but the staff was very nice and helpful, and tried to do there very best for us. And they do speak english to. Free Internet connection.
