In overall the facilities are very nice, the dinner was very good, as well as breakfast. The are is very nice.
The staff was very unpersonal and cold. There is almost nothing included in the SPA area except the hot pools - all the sauna are for extra charge. We needed to wait for transfer service in train station because nobody came to greet us. After calling the hotel, they suggested to contact the staff from other hotels to help us because "their representative is definitely there". We were informed that the hot breakfast is available only once we had finished the regular breakfast, the staff was so occupied with their mobile phones that apparently it was not the first priority to bring us the menu. It wouldn`t be the problem on normal holidays, however once the entrance in Matchu picchu is scheduled very early in the morning and we had to wake up at 5 a.m. - we didn`t plan hours for breakfast, so due to the fact that we ordered the hot breakfast so late, we were late also for Matchu picchu. It`s not acceptable for the hotel which charge 500 USD per night, they should train their staff accordingly.
We like everything the thing that is in the middle of the nature, surrounded by plants and so many orchids. The hotel included different excursions so will recommend making your staying longer so you can enjoy them. The food is amazing, delicious more than could expect it! Rooms are comfortable like little cabins, rustic and beautiful. Love everything about the hotel!
The jungle surrounding the lodge it’s stunning! We got upgraded to a bigger room with fireplace and terrace which we both used and adored! It was pouring down with rain when we were there, which made it even more fascinating! The restaurant and bar are equally good, and the staff is extremely helpful and try their best to satisfy all your needs. It’s sad to read bad reviews about this place because it can’t get any better than this in Machu Picchu Pueblo! (Which is a fairly ugly village literally built on the railway!) Keep in mind you are in the middle of a thick jungle only reachable via train (which does not exceed 30km/hrs) with all the complications that this may cause. Yes it’s a bit pricey, but in the room rate breakfast and dinner are both included, together with being collected or escorted to the train upon arrival or departure with all your luggage. Highly recommended!
It would need a bit of renovation here and there... They use a lot of leather and velvet in their furniture which with all the jungle humidity sometimes smells funny.
Tropical forest surroundings. The hotel is located within around 10 minutes walking distance. The staff met us at the train station and helped us carry our luggage to hotel. Dinner and breakfast are good.
Slippers are not available. Room had unpleasant smell and was humid.
The hotel have tour and was amazing. The cuisine is wonderful.
The shower temperature was not control well but doesn’t matter.
