Pros: It is very central and quiet. Loved that you had a little kitchen with fridge and breakfast voucher valid all day long.

You will need 20c (only thakes 20c) to buy a bottle from one vending machine then 50c for 500ml from other machine.

Pros: This b&b is completely unique and totally gorgeous. The rooms look like something from a high-end interiors magazine. As you step into the grand entrance you are transported back in time – you can feel the original residents and visitors of the house and Mantovan nobility. Our bedroom was characterful and very pretty yet the bathroom was very large and very modern in perfect contrast to the rest of the house, it had a stand alone bath and a big powerful rain shower. The breakfast was delicious – fresh fruit salad, delicious local pastry tarts and cakes – it was prepared and set in such a loving way.

8.5 Excellent
Pros: The room is much larger than the one I chosen initially and the whole building makes me like living in palace. The B&B is located near to train station and old town, very convenient for visitor.
Cons: The breakfast has no any hot food and given the B&B having 2 rooms only, I understand that I cannot expect too much. However, I still hope to have one sausage and two fried / boiled eggs to make the breakfast much better.

Cons: Parking was quite difficult but it was Christmas time.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: everything was perfect. Barbara was very nice. Breakfast was nice. Location was incredible. Room was big
Cons: I think they should include in their advertisement where to park. We park at a location a bit too far. Then Barbara, after we arrived at apartment, told us of a different location much closer to apartment. It is not big deal but would have been easier for us. Other than that, it could not have been any better.
8.8 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner Barbara is a wonderful and extremely helpful. The room I had was enormous, with a very comfortable bed and strong shower. It is located right in the middle of the old town, so perfect location. And when you close the shutters and windows it is silent. A special permit to park the car right in town made it complete. Was one of the best places I have ever stayed! Highly recommend!!

Pros: The excellent traditional Mantovan breakfast of homemade cakes. Our host's attentiveness, hospitality and helpfulness. He shared his passion and knowledge of the city very effectively.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: The owner makes wonderful cakes, pastries, jams and pannacotta, and is very proud of his breakfasts. The hotel, situated in the very centre of Mantua, is only a 15-minute walk from the station.
Cons: You are paying for central location of B&B, rather than facilities there..
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast, freshly baked, not too sweet. Very convenient location and helpful owner.
Cons: Private external bathroom, although very conveniently located adjacent to bedroom.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely breakfast of local cakes and homemade yogurt. Very helpful and knowledgeable host who walked to meet us and guided us to parking within the walls- great source of info of history of mantua.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Giuseppe is a great host. Enjoy a home made breakfast including authentic local food. The room was impeccable spacious and comfortable. Great location, close to main attractions in a quiet place. If you enjoy chatting with people and like to know more about Mantova's history, Italy and its food you found the right place
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything exceeded our expectations. Host was so accommodating and assisted us in every way possible. He is outstanding! Accom very central enabling us to see all we wanted in the 3 days in Mantova
Cons: Nothing!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The host is quite a unique man! Makes his own cakes and jams; was very polite and helpful and made us feel rescued after sliding through one-way-streets for an hour... Breakfast is great, the bed was really king-sized.
Cons: Parking problems; without the help of our host we would have been lost; of course, that's kinda the problem of the guest, not of the B&B; our advice: contact the B&B in advance if you go by car and follow the instructions
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location is super-central, the B&B is one of the best I've seen - super-clean, very friendly welcome, very informative, great breakfast, slept like a baby in a very comfortable king-size bed - also, great air conditioning on a very muggy summer night in northern Italy! I would definitely return to Mantova and stay here again. Grazie mile!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Giuseppe is very fond of Mantova, its history, its sights, its views - and he shares that with you. He goes into the details of marmelade preparation, how about pesto and tomato marmelade. An don't think you know what mostarda is: it is actually made from quince using a bit of french mustard and cayenne. The location of B&B is perfect,
Cons: The wide variety of sweets for breakfast could be supplemented by a small choice of sour/salty selection. Think of diabetes, but this suggestion applies to Italy in general.

Pros: L'Alveare is one of the most beautiful spots in the world! In the countryside with fields all around, close to the impressive Po river, very quiet. So much space for the children to play, wonderful breakfast, and the nicest hosts you can imagine. Chiara and Valerio take care of the beautiful old house and are so friendly and helpful with everything. Grazie mille per queste vacanze!

Pros: Lovely countryside family home. Room was very clean, well decorated, comfortable and with air conditioning. Very stylish open plan space for breakfast. Chiara and her family were very kind and welcoming.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent service, we even got the ingredients to cook pasta, as the restaurant nearby was closed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our family (me, wife, 4 kids) traveled throughout Italy. We stayed in apartments in the best parts of Rome, Venice, and Florence, but our stay at B&B L' Alveare was everyone's favorite (and the least expensive stay on our trip!). The family is so kind and welcoming, and the property is beautiful. The drive into the property along a charming dirt road past farmhouses and tomato fields brought us to a little oasis. We arrived in the evening and were warmly greeted by the family, including their friendly dogs and cat. The grounds are tailor made for family relaxation, with hammocks, a tree house, a small swimming pool, and grape orchard that was teeming with fresh grapes that were offered to us in bunches. The rooms were tidy and comfortable, with their own restrooms. The 2nd floor room is spacious and air conditioned, with a beautiful view. After a wonderful sleep, breakfast was served in the loft of an impeccably decorated barn. We dined on fresh cake and croissants, organic honey, ham and cheese, milk, juice and coffee. Our son likes to fish, and the family was kind enough to help him fashion a bamboo fishing pole with line and a hook. We dug up worms and fished the irrigation canal next to the house. It's a memory we'll cherish forever, and we hope to be back someday.
Cons: This can't really be controlled, but the area has a lot of mosquitos and pretty good sized wasps (vespas). The wasps didn't get us, but the mosquitos did. Bring some repellent and you'll be fine.

Cons: Nothing!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Simple clean modern and very well-placed in the city centre

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Superb location, ample rooms, large nice bathroom, good breakfast. Very friendly staff.
Cons: The room got very hot and stuffy during the night and we didn’t want to open the windows because it was pouring rain outside. We couldn’t find the control for the air conditioning unit to get some air flowing. As I result I slept very badly. Since we were only there one night there was no chance to correct the problem.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: In the center of the historical town, easy to see Mantua and next to the monuments and museums, easy to take a rest in a café ....
Cons: The smell in the air was canalisation, but - of course - this was not influncable by the location...
4.3 Okay
Pros: The main plus point was the location.
Cons: Health and Safety issues - no functioning smoke alarm or telephone in room for use in case of emergency. Bathroom not cleaned and toilet seat was dislodged - nothing done about this after we had reported the fault.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location was excellent, 100 metres from the old city centre, nearby restaurants were very good. Staff were very helpful and provided recommendations for car parking, which was nearby.
Cons: The bed was not comfortable
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is excellent for tourists. The staff went out of their way to be helpful. I was allowed to leave my bags there after checking out and they called the taxi for me. They provided reliable suggestions for nearby restaurants.

Breakfast was fresh each day and unhurried. Virginia and her papa are perfect hosts, making us feel so welcome in this unique home.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Mantova: Casa del Pittore located in a historic building on a main drag, but not noisy. Room has ample space, high ceilings and window screens. The communal sitting room w/good lighting, is lined with novels in Italian. Notable about this room (yellow room), there are many places to put your things-hooks to hang jackets, towels- 3 chairs, a table, armadio, nightstands, good reading lamps, extra pillow. Good breakfast with artisanal jams. Parking close in free public lot. Virginia went to bat for us resolving a telephone ticket purchase that went astray. Her father Stefano was kind to make photo copies from a book on Mantova. Excellent laundromat found-thanks to Goggle maps reviews-Lavandaria a Mantova-self service-Lava Asiuga. A short drive away. Drop off and pick up the following day-the savvy staff lets you bring your own laundry detergent and will fluff & fold!
Cons: The stairs.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: I liked a lot the breakfast both the place and the offer.
Cons: I didn't like too much the flexibility of the staff when we asked permission to leave the car longer after our check out. Despite the courtyard was empty they were very reluctant in giving us the possibility to park for longer. Considering we had paid for a day and we had arrived very late the night before they could have demonstrated a bit of more flexibility.

Pros: An interesting place. As the name indicates there are poetry books everywhere and quotations painted on the walls. We arrived before the check in time but there was no problem in getting in. On the first morning I went to get cups of tea to take to our bedroom, on the second morning they had already set out a tray with teapot etc. waiting for us.

Pros: The staff! Very kind, helpful and willing to please.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, quiet and confortable room.
Cons: Staff was not present when I arrived and the door was locked. Fortunately, someone from the staff came a few minutes later to do the check-in and give me the room key. But the staff is not present after 9p.m. The next day, the person at the reception was kind and attentive to my needs because I had to leave for the train station very early.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good sized triple room.
Cons: The hotel is actually down the street from the address given. We arrived and parked and found someone at the address listed who walked us up the street to check in. Parking in their courtyard is tight so we opted to stay in the public lot and paid at the tobacco shop for a 24 hour pass. We still found a parking ticket the next morning after being assured the ticket in the window was what we needed.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Just in a historical part of Mantova. People working there are fantastic. Comfortable bed, air-condition,
Cons: It is noisy from the street, but the value of the hotel is anyway high.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location: on edge of old town and close to walk along river Rooms had character and air conditioning
Cons: Private parking was tight for a large car [by European standards] but there was a town car park 100 yards away. Shower was a little tight and sloping ceiling was a challenge for tall people [room was in the attic]

Pros: Very well located. Very clean. Excellent service. Fairly quiet for a central hotel and very spacious and comfortable rooms. It’s perfect for those interested in art and looking for a base to visit all the museums and galleries in the area. I especially recommend it I you are looking for a very tranquil place to rest and relax after a hectic day in the town.
Cons: Everything was perfect. I highly recommend Residenza Bibiena

Cons: The rooms were full of insects and the cleaning could have been improved
8.8 Excellent
Pros: I chose this for the free bikes and the location in the National Park (Mincio). These fulfilled our expectations and the owners were really friendly and accommodating. They really take care of the place.
Cons: The property was a little further from Mantova than I had calculated (my fault). The weather was awful and so the location was not as attractive in heavy rain and wind off season as it would be in the summer!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the location. Lovely quiet countryside, 4km from Mantua, so there was a choice between culture and activity ( biking , walking). The breakfast was excellent. The owner, Alberto , was charming and everyone was very helpful when we had a problem with a tyre on our trailer - what could have been problematic was sorted quickly. We are already planning our next visit.
Cons: The mosquitos are vicious - just take spray!

7.0 Good
Pros: Beautiful surroundings: spacious and very clean room. Although across the lake from the city of Mantova and on the edge of glorious countryside, you do not need a car as it is a very pleasant walk into the city itself. There are also two excellent restaurants only 10 - 15 minutes walk from the farm.
6.3 Good
Pros: Friendly staff, the orchard in the facility, large parking area. We stayed only one night in order to visit the city of Mantova.
Cons: Mosquitoes in the evening outside the room (no problem inside with plug in bug repellent). Not much sound proofing so we could hear other guests talking.
7.7 Good
Pros: The host was truly a fine gentleman: kind, courteous, informed, competent and helpful in getting us just the kind of place to eat that we wanted and gave great directions to visit the places we wanted to see locally.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good location, nice and friendly staff, fully equiped kitchen- all the basics were there! Good price for service ratio for a guesthouse in the center of Mantova. Wifi worked very well.
Cons: Juices at the breakfast have been in the fridge for some while, bedframe is moving all the time, bed in general not very comfortable; shared bathroom with a second room; switch for our room outside, so the people from the other room were able to turn on/off our light by mistake; (for those to which this is important: no TV); the restaurants outside are extremely loud
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Central location in the pedestrian zone.
Cons: My reservation was mishandled and I ended up not getting my private bathroom as booked but having to share with inconsiderate strangers.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice living room and kitchen to enjoy and a decent variety for breakfast was provided.
Cons: The place is quite old, bedroom and bathroom doors didn't close properly.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Very clean. Friendly service. Good air-con and WiFi. Great budget accommodation. Highly recommend.
Cons: It wasn’t so much of a problem for us, but some might find it difficult to climb with bags the three floors of narrow steep stairs!
8.8 Excellent

Cons: Big and steep stairwell without any lift, but it was in the description and stuff offered to carry our luggage.

Pros: The breakfast was nice, the room and bathroom clean and the staff very, very nice and accommodation.
Cons: The street outside the room was a bit noisy until late. The showerhead in the shower was not working properly.

Pros: A wonderful guesthouse in the heart of Mantua, five minutes' walk though the city centre to Piazza dell'Erbe. A beautiful historic building that has been nicely renovated. High ceilings, comfortable bed and - a must in the Po valley - efficient air conditioning. Self service continental breakfast. A great experience.
Cons: The wifi comes and goes - but normally is strong. No tv - which means the rooms are blissfully quiet.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The hostess is a really nice lady who'll help you with anything. The room was ready even though I arrived a little early, and everything was at my disposal. I could use the bright kitchen and everything in it (coffee, fridge with juices, milk yoghurt etc.). The room was really nice and bright, I felt really comfortable there. The bathroom was fine, I was the only guest so I didn't have to share/wait. The b&b is located right in the middle of the center of Mantova, everything is at walking distance. I came by train, which was a 15 minute walk. I'd definately come back here!
Cons: The shower was a bit small and the shower head wasn't attached so it kept tipping forward.
6.8 Good
Pros: The bedroom was a good size, the wifi was good and I was happy to have air-conditioning!
Cons: The bathroom was really very old and the shower was very small. Also it was a little bit scary coming in at night along the hallway and up the narrow stairs alone.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: The friendly welcoming of the ownnership to a farm with a long and fascinating history. The farm animals (cows and chickens), very well kept indeed, are an attraction for children. The park of the mansion is an ideal location for en plein air relaxing. Mosquitos could be a problem outside but the rooms are protected by mosquito nets.
Cons: The smell of manure, on summer nights, could be interesting, perhaps even romantic, but it can hardly be defined pleasant. Without a private car, it is not a place I would recommend.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The owners were extremely pleasant and nice. They welcomed us with a homemade cake and champagne. They have also baked a cake for the kids before we left. In addition, the cowshed is awesome, the kids loved it.
Cons: The palace is amazing with great history but some maintence could lift it to the next level.

Pros: A fantastic agriturismo set in a beautiful historic building (a former Gonzaga summer residence) with a view towards the Mincio river. The accommodation was comfortable, clean and spacious. A nice breakfast brought every morning. Location is a short drive to Mantua and has a couple of good restaurants a 5 minute drive down the road. Our daughter loved seeing all the cows and chickens (fresh eggs a couple of mornings).
Cons: The smell of the tap water.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very nice working farm from 14th century with nice garden. Pet friendly staff and very helpful.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I was travelling with my mother. We stayed for 3 nights at Corte Virgiliana. It is a most fascinating place full of history. The rooms was like a castle with very high ceilings. We visited Mantua. There is so much to see one could spend easily a week. We also spend time in the beautiful garden. There are the most unusual trees. Well, for people from the north anyway. We were lucky to get a tour through the main rooms by the lord of the manor... The house dates back to the 15th century. It was also fascinating to see a modern farm estate in action. Truly fascinating!! My only regret is that I don't speak Italien as there were so many things I would have liked to asked.
Cons: I would have loved to be able to communicate better. My Italian unfortunately is non- existent. Staying in such an amazing historic place it would be nice to learn more...

Cons: nothing to report
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Bea is a kind and welcoming host, and made our stay at Beatilla memorable. The breakfast choice is excellent, and in addition Bea went out of her way to provide fresh gluten free bread and soy milk, in addition to shop bought gluten free items to suit our dietary needs. There are peaceful and shaded spots to enjoy a drink, or in our case, a picnic as we were staying on days that the restaurant was not open. Bea provided us with glasses, plates etc to make a proper al fresco meal. On the other day we stayed we visited of the local restaurants, about 2 miles away. It was a little family run cafe/restaurant and full of character. The bed was really comfortable, and the bedroom, like the rest of the Agriturismo, quiet and relaxing.
Cons: The setting is farming/urban fringe. not beautiful countryside that you can take a picturesque walk in, and there are no rural vistas. The bedroom had a small window that opened onto the building opposite, and so the bedroom was dark, and rather uninviting.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great hospitality the staff is always available and kind Luca and Bea are amazing, kindly and always ready to give advice for everything I slept very well, the rooms are very clean, and treated in every detail, WIFI WORKS REALLY FAST. At beatilla I had THE BEST COFFEE during my trip in matova, breakfast was really good, FRESH JAM AND FRUITS FROM THE VEGETABLE GARDEN. Pros: Everything
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place is the best place I have ever stayed in. It is literally part of a Ducal palace. I only booked it for one night as we passed through Mantova, but I wish I had reserved it for several more days. This is a chance to stay in a real medieval palace which now has a modern spacious bathroom, The room we stayed in had a king size bed two love seats two side chairs and a round table with two chairs, and a huge fireplace. You are also right on the main piazza of Mantova, but you enter by way of a large Porta into a wonderful courtyard where you can park your car. I repeat you are in a Ducal Palace and soon it will become well known and the price will go up. Grab it while it is still a bargain. The staff was super friendly and very accommodating.
Cons: I liked everything
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable suit in a historic building facing the main Plazza. Unbeatable location.

Pros: Right in the centre of Mantova, very grand rooms, a bit odd going to a cafe for breakfast and not at the apartments. Would liked to have had some outdoor seating on the lawn. The accommodation very comfortable and extremely nice shower room. Also very safe parking for the car.

Pros: The rooms are huge and historic! Ours had a great view over the piazza and Palazzo Ducale. An unexpected highlight was having the lovely manager, Faustina, look after us. She is such a happy person who is always there to assist with anything.
Cons: The length of our stay was not long enough! Mantova is a great little city.
