location, although a very good view from the window
Friendly staff. Secure parking. A reasonable walking distance from the Matera sights.
No staffing during afternoons and over night. Strangely renovated from a 19th century property with a 21st century interior. Now crowded by blocks of flats on all sides which restrict views from the bedrooms; though the garden views from the breakfast room at ground floor were very private due to high, surrounding hedges.
We received a very warm welcome at the reception desk and the room was very comfortable and pleasant to stay in. The woman at the desk gave us good recommendations re dinner and sightseeing. The hotel is in a residential neighborhood but accessible by foot to the main attractions in town.
Not suitable for people with disabilities as there is a steep staircase leading into the reception and rooms. No elevator.
We got lost even with a GPS but the lady working the desk came and got us and showed us the way to the Hotel. Incredible act of kindness.
Only thing I thought was that the room I stayed in upstairs was not so soundproof. Also, if you are on the side of the road, with the windows open it can be a little loud. Would like to go again and get a room away from the road and get to use the pool, looks wonderfu.
Ridola's owners were very friendly and helpful. The professionally designed rooms and articles in them are all attractive and well chosen.A beautiful private pool is constantly filtered. A very nice breakfast was laid out in a pretty, bright room with many windows with an attentive young woman to fetch cappuccini.Secure parking was appreciated too. We could easily walk to the pedestrian area.
