Very friendly and very accommodating owner and staff. It was like being on the film set of Chocolat but real. The food was stunning and the village unbelievable. NONE
Nice location at the centre of a picturesque village. Very clean room. Our room had just been painted and the smell of paint was quite intense. The room had no airconditioning.
Large family room, cosy atmosphere, excellent restaurant, family owned hotel, good service, free parking on site, excellent location in the middle of the charming village of Meursault. Decent breakfast (compared to French norms)
It was perfectly placed, opposite the church, at the centre of the village, in the same square as three other restaurants, wine shops selling excellent burgundian wines, boulangerie, cafe selling excellent coffee, the tourist information office with obliging staff and the mini-supermarket - etc. It has its own excellent and quite capacious restaurant, which even then sometimes fills up - so booking is advisable. We did book one evening when fairly empty - and the beige carpet suddenly seemed very bland. It has a vast, safe, undercover car park. Charming and obliging owners.
This was the second time we have stayed here. Very friendly and welcoming. Good value for money with excellent restaurant. Very acomodating with the children althougn generally this hotel is more geared for adults. Had childrens menu
I liked the facilities for the children ie books and x-box and it was clean and refreshing and modern. Nothing
Comfortable, modern, good facilities, nice diningroom but casual. It was great for a stopover for us.....may be a bit outside the town for walking to sites. It is a family hotel....but a bit noisy( children are) for an older couple.
Cleanliness, size of room Bathroom was a large cupboard. Coffee in lounge was worst we had in france
Ideal location for a stop over on drive South. 20 min walk to Beaune centre which is lovely, should not be missed. Only real downside was the price of the breakfast. Not at all worth 14Euros. We had breakfast in the room which was even more of a rip off as you don't get seconds!! Very poor selection in room service trays!
1) Bathroom hand-basin : water did not flow out properly 2) breakfast : quality of scrambled eggs was simply disgusting - like mushed potatoes.
:Pool. EXcellent Restaurant Room a little basic
overnight stop only 5 pounds for 1 pint of lager-not on
This is an excellent hotel if you want to break the journey from Italy to the channel. It is conveniently located just off the motorway, is clean and comfortable and also has an excellent restaurant, plus a range of breakfast options.
th hotel was of a very high standard, good facilities, friendly staff.
New facilities, pool
Excellent location, friendly staff, very helpful and knowledgeable - excellent car parking. Ideal for a short break at low cost
I spent a night with my wife at Au Grand Saint Jean and we had a very pleasant stay. The staff were very polity, pleasant and helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the location of the hotel is perfect: shops, bars, restaurants all is within a few minutes walk. Despite being central, it was all very quiet. Very good too, was the private and guarded garage. We could hear the neighbours well tough this was not a problem in the end.
Simple but clean room, good breakfast. There are other rooms (probably less cheap) that are airconditioned; we did not see those rooms. Excellent parking facility, very close to the city center. The room was not very soundproff and very warm in the afternoon. On the other hand, it was not really expensive either, so we would say good value for money.
The very comfortable rooms were newly decorated and refurbished. We had a triple room which represented excellent value for money, especially for a central Beaune location. The staff were extremely friendly and the breakfast was excellent. Secure and private parking was a real bonus.
One of the nice hotel in Beaune
A decent standard and helpful staff, hotel in good location
Its central location was ideal for a one night stay. It provided good accommodation for the price.
One of the better hotels we have stayed, staff were very helpful and friendly, would definitely recommend this hotel, although being in the centre of Beaunne we did not suffer from any noise. Car parking facilities were also good and secure.
We stayed two nights in the hotel and enjoined the perfect location, just in the middle of Beaune. We also enjoined the easy access to the hotel and the safe parking facilities.
the staff did not understand english
Great setting and very relazing Chateau
The professionalism and friendliness of the staff and their desire and effort to please and be helpful.
A wonderful place to relax after a long journey. Very pretty, excellent service and great staff. Have stayed before and will definately go again.
Quadruple renovated room location next to motorway although we could not hear or see it. Beautiful house and garden but not a castle.
Not much, although the room was clean. Room was tiny - so small they put the television on top of the wardrobe. We had to drag our suitcase up two flights of stairs. The breakfast room was more like Butlin's than a chateuax.
we very much liked the building itself and the atmosphere of the chateau. We has a very pleasant stay, and found the staff very friendly and helpful. We had breakfast on the terrace and it was perfect.
Very pleasant staff and excellent hospitality. Friendly, helpful, never trying to fob you off. Very good indeed.
Very pretty chateau in a small hamlet, just outside on Beaune. Has a small bar area where you can have something to drink. Small room, but what we expected. They carried our bags up the two flights of stairs, which was nice. No restaurants nearby, so you be prepared to drive into Beaune for dinner.
The Chateau has an absolute beautiful garden setting. Very comfortable and relaxing. We enjoyed the later afternoon service in the garden with great wines. Very friendly service and helpful
The front desk staff were very friendly helpful and nice. We spoke no French so they jumped right in to help us with dinner reservations and many other gret suggestions as what to not miss in the area. They even gave us discount coupons for attractions. Thank you Steffany, Sophie, Julie Sabrina! We miss are Beaune family!
Friendly and helpful staff. Good sized, clean room. Secure car park facility and location to the centre of Beaune.
convenience to the area we were visiting. helpfulness of the staff. Security of the locked garage. room furnishings were minimal and not very comfortable. lighting was inadequate
Location. Walking distance to attractions.
Accessibility, comfort, helpfulness of staff.
Good Location,Friendly Staff. Not all TV channels worked.
The staff were excellent and very helpful and spoke English. Would like more English speaking channels on TV. Car park expensive as there is ample free parking within easy walking distance.
Our French language skills are very limited but the staff were patient and helpful. They could not have been more obliging. Having just spent 4 weeks enjoying France, Hotel Henry ll and Beaune itself are still rated amongst our best experiences. Thank you for having them on your selection list The room was small but what we paid to stay in it was also small. We were there for the experience of the Country and its culture not to spend time in our room (which was really very charming).
the staff was wonderful and the location was great my only dislike was that there was not enough light in the room to read at night. Other than that we really enjoyed our visit. The staff was very friendly
We liked the location, available parking, security and the quaintness and authenticity of the hotel The rooms were a little dark, matress was saggy
We have bought a house in Dennevy this is a convenient place to stay. I love wandering around Beaune and this is close to walk in.
The unique walls - all covered in fabric not wallpaper. A lovely well converted building. Multi-lingual staff - very helpfull It was possible to hear conversations of other guests in their room.
Staff were very helpfull, hotel was comfortable and well looked after, location great for getting into Beaune
The guy on reception the morning after our stay was very pleasant. It took three attempts to find a room in the hotel which was clean enough to stay in. The carpets in the first two rooms were disgusting. The receptionist was extremely unhelpful and claimed that the carpets were not dirty but just stained. She said that the carpets were due to be renewed next month. This was of no help to us what so ever. We have stayed at this hotel before and the room we had then had been recently refurbished so that is why we went back as we thought all the rooms would be in good order. We will not be going back again. Also, the air conditioning did not work in the room.
The hotel was near the town centre, near good restuarants and best of all the kind, cheerful owner/manager Herve Room was a bit dark even with lights on - but it was a dull day, just makes it hard to apply contact lenses!
the staff were efficient, helpful and pleasant hotel is very well placed for the town and easily found
Helpful proprietor. Good parking. First room on very noisy road. Double glazed but a/c not working so very hot and stuffy, or, windows open and very noisy. Room was changed and then very pleasant. Nice hotel but avoid front rooms.
It is a lovely building and the decor throughout very atractive. Room clean and comfortable and good location. Receptionist friendly and helpful. Lighting in room poor. Very difficult to read by.
Easy to find, friendly staff, informal, fantastic bed, very telaxing The air con was imposssible to control, we ended up opening the windows!
We found the hotel very good indeed for our one night stay en route to UK. The room was comfortable and the staff very friendly. It was also really near the centre and the walk to the centre was very picturesque. The facilities (swimming pool, bar and restaurant) looked very good and made me think that the next time we would prefer to stay a little longer
It's proximity to the historic centre of the city of Beaune, and easy access to the motorway.
The hotel is well placed, you can walk to the city center. Breakfast is expensive.
Well placed near the city centre. Good parking facilities. We liked the sitting room area of the booking. Building and decoration a little past its best.
The accomadations were nice and the location was very good The price was too high, particularly without breakfast included.
Reception and checking out was efficient and friendly. My stay was enjoyable; the staff were keen to help and my two-day stay was relaxing. The air-conditioning in my room was noisy.
Location close to Beaune historic centre, nice large pool, friendly and professional staff, not overcrowded. Main lobby had a bad smell. Carpet in bedroom was not fantastic.
convenience to the City and the motorway dated bathroom and smell of smoke
hotel was suitably locat6ed to the old town centre where we found a magnificent little restaurant that served local fare. Thoroughly enjoyed the walk and went6 straight to sleep upon returning to the hotel
Good location, clean, quiet.
The staff were so friendly and made you feel welcome A little lite on breakfast
Very friendly hotel staff
room, easy to find no evening meal avilable as promised
Free Wi-Fi access. Overpriced.
good breakfast choice, lovely views of the vineyards from our superior rooms. It looks like a motel though when you arrive and cars park outside their rooms. This was a disappointment to us as it was really more like a motel. Dinner was expensive but very good quality. The wines were overpriced. phone did not work. Reported 3 times but they never fixed it. Also shower was faulty and only fixed the night before we left (we had been there two nights already) but they did give a 20 euro discount for the problem and a free bottle of wine.
Breakfast, swimming pool
The room was comfortable, bed large. Air conditioned and this helped as the night was quite cold. It was nice to watch the sun set across the vineyards from our room however it was not quite as i imagined the location to be "set amongst vineyard". Breakfast was good but I think only one staff noticeable. My husband said he had the best meal of our trip in the dinning room ' beef bourguignon". Town was not that interesting but the drive out around the vineyards was wonderful. We were only passing through. We are used to "cellar doors" in Australia where you can call into vineyards for tastings but this did not appear to be the norm in this area. Tastings occured in premises in the town centre more not in the vineyards themselves. The property was a bit old. There was nothing we didnt like, however, the hotel was advertised as being situated in amongst vineyards. It did back onto the vineyard but was in fact on a main road not far from town centre.
Nice lounge area with games table. Good coffee. Within walking distance to Beaune centre. Limited tv channels. Shelf behind bed made sitting up in bed uncomfortable. Air conditioning/heaters would not provide warm air (tried two different ones) so room was a little cold. Rooms had a damp musty aroma. Breakfast expensive for children with small appetites.
The views of the vineyards was great. It was a wonderful location for visiting the wineries and exploring Beaune. We walked into town.
the atmospher of tye hotel and the excellent service from knowledgeable and friendly staff
Good location, close to the old city and the Hospices Noisy in the morning.
Charming traditional hotel in centre of Beaune with excellent restaurant. Big airy room. Great bar with leather sofas and good Cigars. Breakfast was a bit minimal for the price. Buffet but lots of things missing by the time we got there about 9.30am
nice historic building but with new bathrooms, very friendly staff at the reception
The friendly staff and central position . The food was excellent at dinner as well as breakfast and nicely presented. The one and only lift, if someone did'nt shut the door we had to walk up or down and as we were on the top floor, not good.
The Staff are first class- old fashioned courtesy and charm, which describes the hotel overall
THe location - easy walk into old town and wineries. We had reserved a parking place - so that was good. Rooms are small but comfortable -new bathrooms were very good. Staff was friendly and helpful. Newspapers in the lobby were great to have. Service in the bar/lounge was "spotty" - Not being allowed to extend check out by one hour on Saturday even though hotel was not full on Friday night. We had wanted to go pick up our purchases and re pack before loading car - but young man at front desk friday evening said a flat no - Left us with a negative feeling about the place. So we then went out for breakfast - and lunch the next day as well as dinner Friday evening.
Room, service, reception service, restaurant, location Nothing
Nice hotel although rooms are on the smaller side. Staff excellent and friendly with serviceable English. Very good breakfast and excellent restaurant for dinner. Good access to everything. Would gladly stay here again.
Excellent hotel. Booking confirmation process was very efficient. Staff at hotel were exceptionally friendly and efficient. The hotel meals and the service were excellent.
The hotel staff were superb. Service, just the best.
It was a lovely hotel, the linens were so nice and the staff very friendly and accomidating.
Location, friendliness of staff.comfort. Breakfast very expensive. Tourist factory feel. Room dark and gloomy.
the actual building and the room the WC is in another room - acroos the corridor - from the bathroom and the bidet!!!
thought the room was wonderful. Also staff lovely. Did not try the restaurant but it looked good The noise of the air conditioner box
I liked the responsiveness and friendliness of the staff. I also liked that my car was parked and looked after for me. The hotel itself was beautiful and the rooms interesting Very expensive to eat or drink in the hotel
Location is great. The decoration agrees with the style of Beaune. Nice staff attending very well. The bed is small and the mattress was terrible to a person with 1,8 m tall and 95 Kg weight.
We enjoyed this boutique hotel very much. It's an older building with plenty of character and is interesting because all of rooms are different. We had a suite on the first floor, the room was extremely spacious with high beamed ceilings and 2 bathrooms which is somewhat unique. There was a bit of noise from the floors creaking when the upstairs neighbors walked around but it was delightful to our ears and is definitely part of the ambiance we were looking for in Beaune. Location is inside the walled city and close for restaurants, wine shops and other shopping. We look forward to our next visit
Liquid soqp in rooms
The hotel was well maintained and conveniently located in a historic section of the town. Staff was friendly. It was a little difficult to find the hotel.
The hotel is very good, close to downtown, has parking and an excellent breakfast and a good hotel staff
Chef forgot our potatoes, steak rubbery and over cooked
The locaton close to the old city was a plus. Parking was available on site in a protected area. The staff was friendly although there were few that spoke English but that was not a major problem. The pool was nice. Great location for walking to the major attractions at a reasonable price. The room and bathroom was small in comparison to most hotels we had stayed at during our trip. We changed our room several times before we settled in hoping to find a larger room with a bit of a view.
Hotel in excellent location, as you can park the car and walk across the road to the old town, as parking very difficult in centre. Room at rear of hotel. Room clean but stuffey. Very noisey with window open as above pump room, with pump on and off all night. Yes the room they gave us, was right at the back of the hotel above the pump house, we had a terrible nights sleep.
NOt a big room but practical. Was in a good location and easy to access.
Very convenient for Beaune town centre. Restaurant very good
- the staff at reception was very friendly and helpful, especially a young man - swimming pool on the premises: excellent for refreshment, especially for the kids - located very near historic centre of town, convenient at short walking distance - some of the staff at bar and terrace was rather unfriendly, making guests wait (fortunately their colleague stepped in)
Very well placed to visit a very attractive town location. Secure parking and friendly staff.
Hotel close to city center. Refreshing swimming pool. Friendly staff. Good Value for money Small and noisy rooms (clean though) as usual in Ibis Hotels.
There was a nice pool, and although we didn't got in it, I'm sure kids love it. No drinks facilities in the room, all run through the bar downstairs instead.
The staff were very friendly and helpful and passed on good knowledge of the local wine area. The hotel was run professionally and served as an excellent base to explore both the cote du nuit and cote de beaune. Decor was a little bland although suitable for business types etc.
clean comfortable friendly staff, a good selection at breakfast. Good selection of restaurants nearby and located near autoroute.
Room clean; bathroom OK; food quite good, though restaurant/breakfast room lacks atmosphere Staff disinterested; no carpet; foam mattress; meagre towels; beware if booking a triple - trundle bed would have left NO floorspace; VERY HOT, even in May - had to have window open - very noisy outside from people talking loudly and from the scenic truckstop across the road which ran all night
All Ibis hotels provide basic value for money at a location near the motorways which suited our needs. The restaurant was bland and dogs are allowed inside the restaurant which I find unhygienic
The rooms were bright and clean, well sound proofed and the air conditioning was a bonus, The breakfast selection was rather limited.
The friendly staff, cleanliness, quiet location and convenient for town and autoroute
Unable to connect to the Internet in spite of having been provided the hotel password. Connection should be more user friendly like in the Arcachon Hotel we are currently residing (Le Dauphin).
The overall clean, tidy and organised impression and friendly people. No, everything was totally in line with what one should get for this money
Couldn't stay there - it was closed for the holidays. However, we were directed to another hotel not far away. It was OK. Yes, the breakfast was minimal, coffee not great, and we were charged even more than the rate advertised in the dining room (since it was the rate quoted on your website).
The close proximity of the hotel to the centre of Beaune. Overall poor quality of the establishment, especially the restaurant. The hotel & restaurant are seriously over-priced. I would advise all potential clients to avoid the place.
location no internet
on a quiet side street three floors up on treacherous round staircase: no elevators; inflated price for small breakfast
Charming street and a look into history. Confusing to check in.
Very helpful staff, comfortable bedroom and clean and tidy throughout. An historic building with winding stairs and interesting features. Breakfast was excellent.
The restaurant with the old vaulted ceiling. Beautiful. The pictures were a deciding factor in our choosing this hotel from others available during the same dates. The staff was also extremely friendly and helpful. Lovely people! Some not so good surprises: Winding staircase with small width stairs and no elevator. No nice toilettries or blow dryer. All door knobs were loose or kept falling off. Very loud flusher. not recommended for older people or those travelling with small children. The steps would be a nightmare with buggies and there are no railings going from the ground floor to the first floor. I almost lost my footing a few times. Very loud flushing system that sucks the air from the toilet and sink. Other than that, it suited us just fine and we made light of all of these quirkie things. Oh the door knobs - we cannot look at a door without one without bursting into laughter. Maintenance must be on vacation!
A very interesting experience with a fantastic atmosphere, in particular at the breakfast with background music corresponding to the time period and lit candles on the table. The breakfast was excellent, little choice but very good. The only minus point was the bathroom which is very small.
The athmosphare was beautiful.especially the restauran room.I think for having breakfast there, it was a little bit dark. the bathroom is very simple and if you take a shower everything will be wet
Very pleasant staff. They attract visitors because they are a 12th century abbey - but this is misleading, as there is little of the abbey left visible. The shower was handheld.
Great area to stay and explore. Breakfast expensive.
Excellent food and huge wine list. Perfect location and much improved public rooms following renovation.
Friendly staff and very good food in a lovely square.
highlight were the meals - all excellent and beautifully served. Ditto wine, variety knowledge of staff etc. no, people who like very good food and wine would enjoy it as the rooms are nice enough but not outstanding, neither is there a pool etc. which some might like. We loved it, excellent couple of days which is probably about right
The restaurant with its pleasant staff. Without water in the morning it was not nice to start the day. The hotel did not do anything to compensate for this.
We recommend to have a dinner at the restaurant. The building where our room was located had no lift. If you carry big and heavy luggages, it can be a problem.
Very friendly staff. The restaurant is very good for dinner. The breakfast is expensive.
Staff helpful and friendly. Room comfortable and quiet. Hotel good appearnce and location. Furnishings a little tired; believe re-furbishment in progress.
Lovely location, gourmet food, attentive service, access to my favourite white Burgundy wine, convenient stop-over en route further south No table d'hote menu at less than eur 52
The ambience, location, food, and service were all first class, and made for a very enjoyable end to a fortrnight's holiday in France
Used as a stopover on route to Alps - hotel very convenient location just off main road and very easy to find.
Food was good in hotel rest. Carpets old and worn
excellent breakfast; easy access to car; non-smoking areas; cheerful welcome; restaurant on-site; coffee-making facilities in room
Clean room and convenience to city Poor food for evening and lack of suitable alternatives.. buffet more suitable for evening as well as morning meals which were good
food was good, very friendly and there is bowling alley with pool tables and a bar just around the corner. there was'nt a curtain at the ground level window which was a bit off putting.
easy to find, car parking, good place to visit the aera ( Cote d´or) .A little bit far from the historical center, need to go by car. nothing
It was easy access to the town. Easy to locate the hotel. Ample parking space. Rooms were small but adequate and the linen was very clean
Personel simpatetic Bathroom door damaged, could be fixed
conveniently situated - staff very friendly and helpful - facilities good especially coffee making in the room!! a rare treat on the continent
