The view of the accommodation is very beautiful. The kitchen is well equipped.
Unfortunately they were rebuilding at this time. So the pictures don't really represent the place at this time. Also they started making noise for rebuilding at 7 am. We think it will be a good place to stay after the rebuilding is finished but we wouldn't recommend it right now.
The staff is a family. They Will try to do everything You feel at home.
Location is good 5 mins walk from centre. Juan is friendly. Had the place to ourselves for 3 days which was nice.
Place wasn't clean, kitchen and fridge especially. Room window didn't close. We were there alone for 3 days and nowhere safe to store or stuff. Mattress needs replacing.
* The view from the terrace is very nice. * It's a peaceful, quiet place & neighbours are friendly. * I, unfortunately, got sick, but the owner kindly texted me and told me I could let him know if I need anything (I had friends in Minca, so I didn't ask for anything, but I highly appreciated the offer. * The owner allowed me to stay longer, which was especially great as I was sick and needed time to recover. * If you like to have your privacy, this might be a good place to stay for you. But be aware, if you stay here by yourself, it might happen that you are here all alone at night, which can be scary for some people (I did not feel scared, it felt safe). * you can reach the owner by WhatsApp anytime
* I booked the place with "breakfast included", but the owner told me they don't offer this service. When I referred to reviews talking about "very good breakfast", I was told it's long ago... The owner was kind enough to give me a discount (5000 COP per night) and I think he finally changed the settings on booking.com, so it shouldn't be a problem anymore. * When I arrived, my toilet was clogged... Since the owner was not there when I realised it, I had to deal with it myself if I wanted to use the toilet... * I asked for a mosquito net when I arrived. The staff that kindly welcomed me told me, I have to ask the owner, who lives in Santa Marta. I asked him and was told there are not many mosquitos at this time of the year for this reason they don't put a mosquito net. There were enough mosquitos that I had the highest number of bites on my whole trip (and I am travelling for a long time...)!! I got a mosquito net on the second day which I appreciate, but I really had to ask several times and it made me feel uncomfortable. * It can be inconvenient that the owner does not live in Minca! In order to pay for the last night, I waited for the owner who told me he would come between 6-7 pm. I skipped dinner with my friends for that reason and waited. Finally, he came around 10pm... When telling him that the time is a little inconvenient, I was kindly allowed to leave the money in a certain place and did not need to wait (it would have been nice to know that earlier). * The owner ordered a mototaxi for me, but it did not come. After waiting for 45 minutes, he organised another mototaxi for me which arrived. In total I waited 1h to be picked up... * I would have liked to get some more information on Minca. When I moved to another hostel after recovering, I got a map and so many information about hiking trails, times and what to do - I did not know these things eventhough I stayed at Dunarinka for 4 nights.
A very quiet place to stay away from the village so peaceful and relaxing, but close enough to walk in to town. Rooms are basic but clean. It is worth paying extra for the en suite room. Great wifi and really helpful host, Juan, who speaks good English We loved all the birds we saw while relaxing on the terrace, especially our daily visits from the blue and gold macaws
This is the jungle and there are sand flies throughout Minca, bring insect repellent.
