9.0 Excellent
Pros: Mt.Fuji view from room is the best.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stylish hotel, very nice staff, fantastic breakfast and great one free drink at the bar, very clean room,so stunning Mt.Fuji from my room and great open air onsen with beautiful Mt. Fuji. There was a shuttle bus to pick me up at Kawaguchigo station and drive me to Kawaguchigo station. The hotel was located on the hill quite far from the lake and there weren't any convenient stores near the hotel, should buy things before go to hotel.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location with super friendly service. The food in the Restaurant was amazing (dinner as well as breakfast - enjoy the true Japanese breakfast!) and one of the best we had during our 3 weeks in Japan. Unfortunately mount Fuji desapeared in the clouds when we arrived. I could only imagine sitting on the balcony or on the rooftop terrace and enjoying the beautiful area. Never the less, we had a very comfortable stay in this hotel and I would certainly go back there.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The view and the Japanese breakfast
Cons: Christmas comes early
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were spacious and clean, with an amazing view of lake Kawaguchiko and of Mt Fuji.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff were absolutely amazing. The rooms were comfy and clean. The private onsen on the rooftop is well worth booking out. We managed to see mt Fuji perfectly from it, with a glass of sparkling wine - absolute bliss. The public onsens are also really lovely.
Cons: Food is very well prepared and delicious but it is a set menu, so if there are dishes that you don't like you may not have any other choices. Location itself is great for mt Fuji but we found that Lake Kawaguchiko didn't have too much to do around it.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: - lake view and mountain view from balcony. You can watch sunset and get up early at 5 am to see sunrise fall on mountain - breakfast is so good and you get to see Mt. Fuji when eating. Even though Fuji hide into clouds when our breakfast time - hotel provide bicycle and we ride to Oishi park just after breakfast
Cons: Hotel is on hill and have to hike up for 10 mins feel like 1 hr on running track
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic views of the lake and Mount Fuji. Nice and peaceful surroundings.
Cons: Far from eating places. It's on a hill top, so getting up and down is a bit of a walk. Breakfast is expensive.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The view was amazing. The onsen was fabulous even if it meant being a little out of your comfort zone in your birthday suit. The hotel staff are very friendly and outgoing, with a great grasp of English

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Hotel allowed me to check in early in the morning. They welcomed us from the doorstep and assisted us to bring our luggage in. Staff could speak Japanese, English, and Chinese. Staff (from Taiwan, able to speak Chinese) recommended us to go to several places and he is very friendly! He said that we can call them after we tour finished Kawaguchiko. After returning our rental car, we called the hotel and they specially drove us back to the hotel. Once we return to the hotel, the friendly staff came out to receive us. They also helped us to prepare the futon for the night. There are 3 timings for breakfast and it is sumptuous! We were lucky to see Mount Fuji from our room and the public bathroom!
Cons: TV is too small.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, right in front of the lake WITH a view of Fuji-San from our room, and the lake pathway was about 200ft in front of hotel. Ryokan style room and meals, we didn’t eat there because we don’t eat seafood, I know I know the majority of food in Japan is seafood. But I would not hesitate to book again, they also pick you up from Kawaguchiko station when you arrive and will drive you back when you check out. Picture is from our room looking out.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect, food are fantastic experiences
Cons: .
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The view from the window was amazing during the right weather conditions. The staff tries their best to communicate with us and we're very friendly and helpful.
Cons: They didn't have outside thongs/sandles that fit which was a little disappointig.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner and his staff were helpful and welcoming and made us feel part of it all. Home from home. The formal Japanese breakfast and dinner were among the best we had in Japan, as pleasing to the eye as to the taste. And the view from the onsen has to be the best anywhere, especially at sunset over Fuji and westward down the lake! When I come back the the Lakes, as I most certainly will, I will stay at Asafuji.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The bed is not comfortable. The space is small.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staffs are so warm and friendly. They also proactively asked what's your plan and give you very useful suggestions and discount coupons! They really make you feel like home and take good care of you. The food also worths some really good words. It's actually kind of the highlight of our stay. Delicious and enjoyable. They try to make different cuisines everyday. The Japanese food they offered was just fantastic. The room is clean and roomy for two. We can see Mt. Fuji straight in our room. I can't count how many pics we took from our room. Also, they do offer pick-up service which is really nice and helpful. Overall, it was a great stay and I hope there are more visit to this lovely hotel in years to come.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was an amazing spread of food of excellent quality. The staff are friendly, and very helpful. The rooms were large and comfortable.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Staff are friendly and kindness. Flexible to have early check-in as we arrived the hotel around 13:10 (normal check-in is 15:00). Round trip on shuttle was provided as some hotels provide check-in shuttle service only.

Cons: Mattress a little hard for me
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very nice place with mt fuji view. Great bathtub!
Cons: The bad wasn't that great, but it was still good
9.2 Excellent
Cons: I would have missed the lane crossing.to the hotel if not for the Google map. The map direction provided by the hotel would be more useful if it indicates that it is the small lane lying.next to the police station. It's especially difficult to find at night as the lanes leading to the hotel is poorly lit.

Pros: Teppei-san is really hospitable and goes the extra mile to make guests feel at home! I love the location - there were food options nearby, convenience store within range, and the lovely BnB is just minutes walk from the lakefront where one can just sit and admire the view. I’d highly recommend staying at Weekend Shuffle!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place is lovely , good location and nice staff
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed at Weekend Shuffle during Typhoon Hagibis. From the moment we arrived (the night before the Typhoon was set to hit Japan) we felt at ease in the care of Teppei. The accommodation was warm, inviting and comfortable, and the breakfasts provided were ample and delicious. But what really made our stay outstanding was the amount of effort Teppei put into keeping us comfortable and entertained when the Typhoon hit and everything was closed for safety! He took us to the supermarket and pharmacy for provisions, and put movies on when the worst of the Typhoon was happening. The morning after the skies were clear and there was Mt Fuji clear from our bedroom window! Teppei took us to amazing view points of Mt Fuji and helped us sort of transport back to Tokyo when a lot of trains and busses were cancelled. Teppei went above and beyond, and we know that this would have been the case even with out the Typhoon! We encourage everyone to stay here, and we hope to come back one day! Thank you Teppei and Weekend Shuffle!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The owner is super nice - gave us many tips to the area, and even drove us twice during our stay and offered to transfer our luggage to the main station. Place has a home-like vibe, and avery good breakfast. Overall we enjoyed our stay very much and felt very welcomed :)

Cons: Old fashion utilities and the bed was not comfy!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: the location is good, but maybe it is summer, there are lots of bugs around the room.
Cons: not exactly sure the breakfast process. i would suggest the host can provide more Japanese style food. also seems there is no dish washer so breakfast were not taken out from room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The house is perfect! Everything you need for self catering Views are spectacular. Very quiet and peaceful. Great breakfast. Friendly staff. Little garden was perfect for our toddler to let off steam. Located next to a craft complex which also sells food and beverages. Highly recommend staying here if you need some relaxation time. Pros: The room was extra comfy, they let me check in early and made sure I knew where every thing was located. They provided lots of info about things to do in the area and a good map which was extra helpful.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is excellent, just a few minutes from the station on foot. They have bicycle rental that I took advantage of. The room was small but clean, and it's a tatami room with futon, which I really love. Staff were friendly.
Cons: I spoke with 3 members of staff, only one spoke any English. Considering this guesthouse has a lot of foreign guests I'd have thought they'd have more. The room had small windows but no curtains, so it got far too bright far too early in the morning. Bring a sleeping mask.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great placement, very cozy, nice decoration
Cons: A toilet or bathroom on the 3rd floor would have been better but it wasnt too much of a problem
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It is very clean lovely guesthouse with many shared showers and toilets. Our japanese style room has a real nice mountain view from the window. Check in out with no problems, at all. 2 minute walk to the station which also have many bus stops outside. You may take these tour buses for 5 lakes or 5th station. Very large and comfortable kitchen (nice coffee) and very close to restaurants. The outside paint is orange you can’t miss :).

Pros: the location is unbeatable, you can see the beautiful view of the Fuji Mt in your room and the onsen. the garden outside the restaurant is awesome. the staff are very nice and always come to help when needed. a great place to stay if you want to see the reflection image of Fuji Mountian in the lake (but it is not guaranteed as it may affected by the weather, and beware the timing of the snow cap of Mountain Fuji)
Cons: nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was wonderful. The ryokan has a shuttle that picks up and drops off from Kawaguchiko station, which is very convenient. The staff were helpful and attentive and answered our questions well. The view was stunning and the facilities were clean. Food was delicious. Absolutely recommend.
Cons: The onsen weren't real hot springs - which was our reason for traveling into the countryside/Fujisan. The hot baths were still amazing and the outdoor bath was great, just be aware they're artificial.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location and food
Cons: Transportation , as the hotel is not far from train station, you should send the bus to pick up guests both morning and late afternoon period. 14.30 pm is not suitable for two day trip. We need to spend time in Kawaguchiko during morning as well
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Outstanding views of Fuji Mountains straight out of the room Very attentive customer service (we had dinner in our room and the service was totally impeccable). There is a nice walk on the lake just outside the hotel.
Cons: The hotel is a little old The breakfast is mostly Japanese style
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is amazing, close to many of Kawaguchico’s attractions. Even though it was raining and we didn’t get the full Fuji-San experience, the hotel itself is very nice, as was the indoor and outdoor Ibsen facilities.

Pros: One of the most beautiful views. Every room has view on Mt. Fuji. Complementary beer! Wow!!
Cons: The food was really good, but not excellent. Everything else is Perfect.

Pros: The hosts are the best thing of this lodge. They are super friendly and take care of every little detail. The experience was amazing. The breakfast is huge and completely worth the cost. We loved it!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Narusawa is a small and extremely beautiful place. A very local experience away from the typical tourist hotels. Great scenery and amazing autumn colors.
Cons: Mama and papa are the most loving, warm, happy people. By far our best experience of a stay - great company, best vegetarian food (mama makes amazing breakfast) , helpful and caring in every aspect. They have built the place them-selves with lot of love, food is made and served with love, discounts to really great nearby onsen and help on transport by papa. What more could one ask for :)
9.6 Excellent
Pros: What a great host!! It was a great stay. Spacious room, good breakfast and child friendly! We stayed there with a 3.5 year old and 6 months old baby.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We hopped off the train into zero degree temperatures and way too many tourists at Kawaguchiko station. We then missed the bus to Narusawa and had to wait 2 hours for the next one. We finally got off the bus at Narusawa with our 25kg luggages and then walked 7-8 minutes to the lodge. At this point we were thinking, what did we get ourselves into, we should have just booked a hotel closer to the station. It was all looking fairly bleak. Then we met our hosts and it was all worth it. The accommodation was nice, we were lucky to be the only guests for our stay so we had the guest area to ourselves and the bathrooms to ourselves. The room was very cosy with tatami flooring and comfortable futons with lots of blankets and a heater. The hosts (husband and wife) are the best part of staying here. They are a lovely couple and made us feel like we had a second family in Japan. The genuinely cared about where we were from and about our welfare and enjoyment while in Japan. They were able recommend and then drop us off at the local (Yurari) onsen which was amazing for relaxation, especially in the cold (we went here 2 nights in a row). They made sure the onsen staff called them after we were done so we could be picked up. On check out they even personally drove us to the station so we didn't have to lug around our luggages, they stopped at a few spots along the way, showing us some of the more interesting things in the area. It was like having a personal tour guide and photographer with us. It was a pleasure to stay here and we will definitely be back. Domo arigato gozaimasu!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners were the most hospitable people that we met during our stay in Japan! We loved it!!!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Hosts were absolutely lovely helped us lots with travel plans . It was like staying with family . They were particularly lovely to our children .

Cons: Nothing...
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Design / arquitecture
Cons: Price - too much expensive for what it is.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The view! Great to wake up to a view of Mount Fuji. One of the best hotels we’ve stayed in. The “glamping experience” is nonsense (make no mistake - this is a 5* hotel!), but it is a unique place to stay. Great food and the staff couldn’t be more helpful.
Cons: It is a bit pricey. Also not a place to stay if you struggle with stairs - there were literally 100s of stairs from our room to the bar. We didn’t mind but some might!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I love the positioning of the rooms toward the lake and Fuji. I loved that there were many different areas you could rest and relax.
Cons: We were a group of 12 people. They were incredibly gracious and did ma y things to make our trip special and to make us feel welcome but the property is best suited for small groups of 2 or 3.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Brilliant experience, beautiful location, and lovely attentive staff
Cons: As a solo traveller the evening meal although delicious was expensive. The wine selection could be more varied as the one I tried in the mini bar was nit to may taste, I hope this is helpful as I loved my stay
8.3 Excellent
Pros: I like that it is very close to nature and they have free activities for you to join throughout the day. The mt fuji view in the room is amazing. The staff are all also very courteous and accomodating.
Cons: The bed was a bit small. Was hoping they would have a king bed for the price.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Impeccable service all throughout the stay. Staff were extremely polite and helpful, the place is gorgeous and comfortable. Everything was really well designed to cater to your every need.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The view of Mount Fuji is spectacular! The fire place in the room by the balcony sets the mood for the evening. The evening music under the stars was excellent. The glamping bag was such a nice touch. We enjoyed most of the activities the resort provided.
Cons: Alot of steps. Not recommended if you have issues walking up and down steps.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff and outdoor design! Hoshinoya Fuji was the perfect retreat after touring busier cities on our trip to Japan. We loved the humongous floor to ceiling windows and views of Fuji even from the bath and shower.
Cons: When we arrived we read that you have to reserve space for your meals (except breakfast) one day before. Supervisor said we would have been notified sooner if we booked directly through their website. All their lunch and dinner meal times were fully booked! We found ways to eat, of course, but was shocked and disappointed about the inconvenience of being told there’s no room in the dining hall for dinner or their lunch workshop when we weren’t expecting it to be an issue.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice check-in (they parked our car for us, we had a seat with a drink enjoying the lake view while they handled the check in, luggage was already put in our room). Great breakfast and nice layout where you sit in little compartments so private and comfortable.
Cons: Same day dinner reservations not accepted BUT they gave us a hand drawn map for restaurants in the hotel vicinity so good help.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room and onsen view was amazing
Cons: Didn’t realise you need to book dinner however staff were very accommodating and recommended a fantastic bbq
10.0 Excellent

Pros: absolutely love the scenic view of lake Kawaguchiko while admiring it from the cosy lounge. Comfy futon beds and lovely Yukata provided.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great views of the lake from the onsen (public bath). Traditional ryokan feel. Convenient free shuttle service to and from the train & bus station.
Cons: Located on a steep hill if you're walking to/from the hotel, but that same hill gives you great lake views from your room. Quite expensive for what you get.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved my stay at Rakuyu. Definitely worth the money. The half board meals were amazing and the staff was so accommodating to my travel schedule. Due to the typhoon damages to the highway, my bus got in late to Kawaguchiko. However, they had our dinner waiting and warm to allow us to eat when we arrived. The staff was wonderful and so helpful. I would definitely recommend them to any of my friends. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. I loved waking up to the lake view and just sitting there breathing in the fresh morning air from the open windows. At night, we leveraged the onsen and then had the free evening tea or coffee while watching the lake from the common area. If you are looking for a peaceful break from the craziness of the city, this is the place to go. They are close to the Kawaguchiko Station and the Sky Ride. We had a great stay at Rakuyu.

Pros: The host was amazing. She was so friendly and they provided a wonderful breakfast. The location is great as well.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was very clean, convenient and the owner/managers were wonderful. They are lovely people, very helpful and really want you to have a great experience at their hotel. The onsen was very nice. We had a wonderful view of Mt. Fuji from our bedroom window (and the dining area window and almost everywhere in the hotel). Our room had both a sleeping room and a sitting room area so it was very comfortable. The hotel location was very convenient to a pretty park and the lake itself, and they pick you up from the Kawaguchi station. Be sure to make a reservation for dinner. It was a fantastic traditional Japanese meal, beautifully presented. It was well-worth the money and an experience in itself. We felt very fortunate that picked Kawaguchi Lakeside Hotel to stay at. We stayed 2 nights and we had nothing but good experiences.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff is super amazing and the location is perfect
9.0 Excellent
Pros: We forgot the luggage when the hotel staff dropped us at kawaguchiko station at around 2pm today. After lunch when we were heading to the highway bus stop we saw the hotel staff with the luggage waiting for us at the bus stop. We were so impressed!
Cons: Rooms without toilet is rather inconvenient. The hot spring pool is very basic and can only accommodate few persons. TV should better be connected to internet.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hospitality, location and great view of MT Fuji.
Cons: Was good overall.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff were amazing!! So helpful and friendly. They went way above and beyond, picking us up from the train station and dropping us off, even outside of their normal hours. Without even asking, the host drove us to the gondola experience since it was so hot. The food is amazing. We ate both dinner and breakfast (which was way too much food, but an experience we couldn't pass up!) We weren't planning on eating breakfast, but dinner was such a fantastic experience that we decided to eat breakfast too. Absolute highlight of the trip was the meal. We had both a traditional room and a western room. Stunning views, we couldn't have found better views of Mount Fuji! Couldn't recommend this hotel more!
Cons: The bathrooms were the only downside. They were very clean but communal. Even the western style bathroom was very small, like an airplane bathroom.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place is amazing! First of all the food was so good! We had both breakfast and dinner there, and everytime it was new and very tasteful. The hosts were really really friendly and the service was more than perfect! They drove us where we wanted to go, helped us with proper footwear and getting tickets for the bus further on. Would definately recommend this place to friends and family :)

Pros: This is our second time staying here. I love that we can use the kitchen to cook. Sharing the kitchen with other traveller is fun and exciting
Cons: The toilet. One of it not properly functional (at the upper floor).
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The common area was big and nice. Free coffee and bed provided. I woke up with a clear Fuji view and that was fantastic. I booked two big rooms for 12 people. One was more expensive with private bathroom and towels, the other wasn't. So I had to rent 6 towels (I couldn't remember the price but not expensive) and use shared bathrooms. If you come here by car, please let the hotel staff know prior of time and there's 500 yen parking fee per night. Otherwise, you might have to park farther away in the park (10-15 mins walk).
Cons: The shared bathroom was nice but the toilets are a little smelly.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: I enjoyed the double bed itself, very comfortable. Same goes for other facilities available such as laundry, nice common room, beautiful observatory on top of the roof and bike rental option, perfect to reach the lake and it's surroundings.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The excellent view of Mt Fuji.
Cons: Nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The view of Fuji from the roof at sunrise was breathtaking. Communal lounge / dining area is great. Kitchen was basic, but ok for most travellers. Free tea & coffee was a bonus. There are a few supermarkets and restaurants within a short walk. Highly recommended.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location, super clean, friendly staff, very comfortable and convenient. Close to the bus station (10 minutes walk) with buses to and from Tokyo ( only 2 hours journey). 1 minute walk from fujikyu-highland station, 20 minutes walk to kawaguchiko station. Really good. Would definitely choose it again!
Cons: Not much interaction with other guests, it was quiet and everyone kept for themselves.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The place is good value for what I paid for. The location is just a walk away from the train station. The location has a free service shuttle that can take you to Kawaguchiko and surrounding areas.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beds were comfortably sized (I am 178cm tall) and the amneties are very nice and clean. There was sufficient utilities provided in the place. I also liked that there is a locker in my bed to keep my personal belongings. They also have some brochures around where to go to in the hotel if you are at loss for what to do. It was also near a Lawson which makes it convenient for the guests of the hotel. And it is directly infront of the Fujikyu highland train station and bus stop which the free shuttle service will stop at. Making it incredibly convenient for travelling back. It was a great experience at a capsule hotel considering that it was my first capsule hotel stay!
Cons: I had to move back and forth from my locker and my bed quite often. If only there was more space in the locker room to do some unpacking but I guess it is expected from a capsule hotel. There is also not much food choices around this place. Also for people who comes to this place directly. There is barely any information on how to get around since Fujikyu highland is not where most tourist starts. I suggest you to move to Kawaguchiko station directly unless you know what you are doing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Spotlessly clean superb facilities & helpful friendly staff
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Chose the location as it was the most accessible to Fujikyu Highland. Because they were partners, you get to purchase the theme park tickets at a discounted price and you get 30 mins earlier access to the theme park than the public! This allows you to queue earlier for your favourite rides or at least allows faster access to the fastpass purchases.
Cons: Had to walk 30 mins with luggage at night during winter because the highway bus dropped us at the highland resort/main entrance instead of the train station at the 2nd entrance of the theme park (where the hotel was). Luckily google map was working and we had 3 people in our group.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: It looks like a hotel, it is clean, neat and stylish. The access to the bunks and your locker is with card system. It has a lot of bunks, so unless it is crowded or full (wasn’t my case fortunately), you may not hear other people snores, farts and other noises. Mattress was good, the bunk was big enough to get comfy. It has several showers and toilets, they were always available and clean. Lounge space was nice too. The location is great, almost next to the Fujikyu Highland station and the park, and very near of the bus station. It was far enough from the center and touristic attractions, but my plans were included just the park and to take a walk around, so I had no problems with that. Overall, considering the price, this is the best capsule hotel I have been so far.
Cons: Almost nothing bad at all, but somethings to consider: They ask you to leave the bunk at 10 am and you only can go back at 3 pm if you have another night checked, that means, the check out time is at 10 am: too early for my taste. Locker is a little bit small for travelers with big luggage. The staff doesn’t speak english very well, so it may get harder to communicate for outsiders, but they are nice and dilligent.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Close to the JR station. This hotel was located in a small shopping market, next to a convenience store. Lockers were big enough to fit my 24 inch luggage case along with my backpack. Plenty of showers and toilets available. There is a washing and drying machine as well.
Cons: You have to leave the property at 10 am everyday and come back around afternoon (don’t remember exact time) so they can clean the rooms.

Cons: -
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff went out of their way to assist and inform; all with a genuine smile.
Cons: Nothing really. The tariff was disproportionate to the service, location (view) and amenities. By this I mean that the price was very good for what you got. Sure, there are more modern and finer establishments nearby but their price reflects that and really, they are only meters way so offer the same view.
6.0 Good
Pros: The staff was really friendly and they were very welcoming to our 2 year old and even provided a small yukata for him.
Cons: Extra charge for 2 year old child even though they explicitly said they would not provide bedding or meal. It is very clean with recent renovations but you can tell the property is a bit old and run down.
7.9 Good
Pros: Good location ,great sfaff
Cons: None
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stunning view of Fujisan over Kawaguchiko lake from a very clean, comfy, and traditional tatami-style room. Also, the view of morning Fujisan from the 7th-floor onsen is spectacular and inspired, I can stay in a warm onsen for a long time.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice place and beautiful view. Meet mt.fuji-san in the the morning was impressed. Gentle staffs, friendly and take care. Nice breakfast in cultural style.

Pros: The environment is relaxing and the building is well-designed. Nice mt fuji view from the window of the room. Comfy bed.
Cons: The bathroom is a bit too far and inconvenient, have to walk down to the lower floor and pass the restaurant to bathe. No elevator, have to carry the luggage up to second floor. The receptionist is a bit cold, not as friendly as I expect.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The experience of staying in this ryokan was amazing. The kaiseki dinner was delicious too. It was so peaceful and quiet here, a good change from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo. Our room had a garden view and the tatami beds were so comfortable. We also enjoyed exploring the area and hiking to the top of Mt. Minobu. Thank you for everything!
Cons: Nothing to complain about.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I ordered based on location in order to be in the Mt. Fuji area, which it was. Also, I was looking forward to a simpler accommodation in a temple area. The location was lovely and close to many temples and the mountain rope way. The staff were really friendly and the interior was lovely. The rooms are spacious and simple. The dining area looks out over a lovely garden. It was raining heavily when we visited, so we weren't able to really appreciate the terrace area outside. The vegetarian meals were excellent, some of the best we had during our trip, but they must be requested ahead of time (preferably when booking the accommodation).
Cons: We arrived by train and I didn't realize how far it was to the lodgings. We could have taken a bus, but didn't know about that until later. We took a taxi. I think it would be a good idea to give information about getting to the lodgings in the first communication confirmation. (Many places we stayed offered pick-up at the train stations, which would be a nice consideration here.) There seemed to be a little confusion with ordering meals and communication between staff members seemed to add to the confusion. We were quoted different prices for meals, for example, and given drinks we didn't order. But the staff were very accommodating and we sorted it all out in the end.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The traditional experiance.
Cons: The signs to the enterence need to be better.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Really cool and relaxing experience. Prayer in the morning, hike during the day. A good shot of nature and calm!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything, I wish I stayed longer
Cons: Nothing, everything was fantabulous
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about this place is wonderful. From the setting in the mountains to the staff. The food is delicious the futons very comfortable my only regret not staying longer.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the private (reserved) bathroom with onsen. The food was beautifully served and delicious! I wouldn't mind being a vegetarian with these meals. The staff was super friendly and some spoke English, we even went to karaoke with them (as a goodbye for one of the staff members, Rico, who will continue his travels) and it was lots of fun ! There was a Lithuanian (if I'm right) Nichirin Shu Buddhist who offered to join us (bring us to and guide us) to the morning prayer, it helped a lot cause we were clueless on what to do/where to go otherwise. Other than sharing interesting stories she was also lots of fun and very friendly :) The morning prayer was a special experience and the temple itself (and the steps to it) is surrounded by very tall trees and simply beautiful (and other than other places we've been to - not swarmed with tourists yet!). Our stay here will remain in our memories!
Cons: We came across some insects (only like 2/3 no worries and only near the windows) but that's honestly to be expected when staying at such an (beautiful) old house. Complaining about that would be like going camping and complaining about insects!
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: The inside garden. Temples. The situation and treck form the bottom of Minobu mountain so amazing ! the hotel is correct but see next...
Cons: Captive client condemned to exorbitant prices Once your reservation has been confirmed, the hotel sends you a message: "Please be aware that Minobusan is a village. There are no supermarket and very few eat-out options. Kakurinbo offers a multi-course dinner for 4,000 yen and a traditional breakfast for 2,000 yen. " It is better to know it, before being trapped by the reservation, with such MINIMUM prices from a captive clientele. It would be a shame to miss such a site of temples and nature. There are many other temple guest houses but difficult to access for us, unless you go through the tourist office in front of the minobu station. In reality, there are two restaurants very well a 8 € open from 11 am to 15 pm another very simple that also serves coffee open from 8 to 18h breakfast toast at 4 €. As well as ice cream pastry and food shops to buy bentos. The city also with for example, a restaurant in front of the station very good, open all day that reopen at 17 h 45, dishes 13 € For this the bus accessible 300 m from the hotel 10 min trip, 2 € the trip every half hour until 19:35. No need for a taxi, last detail: between the bus stop and the hotel there is a distance of 400 m with a last steep climb that I made at 66 years old. The bicycles of the hotel are also exorbitant of 4 € per hour whereas everywhere else it is maximum 12 € the day. And often class hotels leave them available. It's a pity that this place no longer respects the spirit of Buddhism. Japanese guests do not do that.
