9.3 Excellent
Pros: Just like staying inside a museum, amazing decoration!
Cons: The property location by GPS is incorrect! We spent a lot of time locating this place. Since we arrived there quite late, we also spent a lot of time contact the owner. Finally, after we met the owner but he also surprises actually he sent me the message which I never receive! Not sure if it is some error from the booking.com communication system.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Through a large arch into a courtyard you will find Casa Sironi in the centre of Tortona. Warmly greeted by Gianni, our host who invited us to see the house, we went from room to room as he told us the interesting history of the house and family that had lived there. We were invited to use these public rooms if we liked. Our room was spacious and like the rest of the house elegantly decorated, breakfast was a delight and the cakes were delicious! Our stay at Casa Sironi was a wonderful experience and as we were leaving I wanted to know when we could come back!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The beautiful house the décor the atmosphere
Cons: The weather!!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Was staying in Tortona to collect some wine on our drive to Tuscany. Great location to explore the town for an evening, also with secure gated parking. The house itself is beautiful and has recently been wonderfully renovated. Gianni was a great host and the breakfast was great.
Cons: Nothing, perfect for what we needed
6.3 Good
Pros: Owner went out of his way to help. Absolutely lovely fellow. Breakfast was delicious.
Cons: Uncomfortable bed. Thin pillow. No powerpoints or wifi in the room. Getting in and out of the room required us to unlock five different doors.
6.8 Good
Pros: Location was very convenient
Cons: The room smelled bad, very noisy- could hear the TV and conversation in the room next to us
9.5 Excellent
Cons: Cosy hotel. Can highly recommend it.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Atmosphere, accommodation, staff, areas available to relax & socialize
Cons: Bed was firm, and not comfortable for sleeping
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Gianni is very friendly and hospitable owner! His attention is very nice. The hotel is close to the railway station, 15 minutes by walk to garden with castle, couple of minutes to supermarket and bakeries. Each room of the hotel with own mood and antique wooden furniture, it's very cozy. I felt myself like at home. Thank you Gianni!
Tenuta Terensano - Monleale - Building
2
9.6 Excellent (83 reviews)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely first class service, accommodation, food, and a can do attitude that is a credit to the Italian tourist industry. Valentina and Luigi hosted like the perfect double act. At dinner; Valentina preparing the food - which was excellent-plentiful, tasty and always creative. Luigi advised on the appropriate wine (grown on the estate) to compliment the dish. The staff were polite, good humoured, well presented, knowledgeable and could advise on local places of interest, travel, et al-this was provided with genuine enthusiasm. The pool was immaculate and set in beautiful grounds. A lovely stay and we shall return next year. It is little wonder that a considerable number of this venue's clientele are returning customers.
Cons: ....having to depart....
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location, surrounded by vineyards with the most charming hosts.
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location and very friendly hosts. Fabulous swimming pool too!
Cons: Nothing really. Rooms were quite dark but comfortable
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We spent 3 nights in this gem of a place. A real paradise on earth! The hosts were so friendly and welcoming and the food was amazing! Not to mention the wine and fruit produced on the premises. We plan to return soon.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were very friendly and we enjoyed a delicious home cooked meal and met other interesting travellers. Ideally situated en route to Italy it is in a lovely setting, very quiet amongst the vines. Well kept grounds it is a working winery but very peaceful. There is a lovely pool but unfortunately it rained so we didn’t get to use it or enjoy the grounds fully. We were made to feel at home by our hosts - he speaks good English but I enjoyed practicing my Italian.
Cons: Be careful if you ask to try a wine as you may get charged for the bottle (I think there was a misunderstanding aswe preferred to go onto red for the main course). however they are all their own wines, very reasonable and they are justifiably proud of them. Dinner was excellent but there is no choice so do advise them of any dietary requirements.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful sophisticated Manor House in rural working farm. One can wonder around the area viewing the vineyards ,orchards in a country setting. Swimming pool and area is perfect to relax and is exceptionally clean and well maintained like all of the property. The comfortable classical rooms are set around the courtyard and breakfast is uniquely fabulous. The hosts were a delight and made us feel very welcome and part of the family. Traditional meal is available on request and served with wine from the vineyard and produce from the farm. The whole stay was a real treat and highly recommended for those who wish to experience a relaxing Italian hospitality.
Cons: Absolutely nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely service
Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great swimming pool and beautiful surroundings; Everything was very clean. My partner is vegetarian and they prepared special dishes for him and also for my 18 months old daughter.
Cons: The hostess was nice but we didn't feel very welcome to stay with our toddler. They were always worried that she would get the floor dirty at dinner and they ended up setting up a table for us outside; cut off from the other guests. We felt like we were being watched all the time and got reminded of a few strict rules a few times.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Mi piace molto. I loved the place and most of all the people. The rooms are created, renovated and cared for with love, style and attention. The welcome was simply perfect. A lovely couple invite you to their home and you go from being strangers to family. All the staff are caring and kind, efficient and discreet. The food was home cooking at its very best, and features farm produce from the estate. Wonderful jams and chutneys, hand-made pasta with eggs so fresh the hen has not missed them! And what wonderful wines grown, developed, and served by the wine-maker himself. A beautiful red with enough tanin to tickle the pallate, but tender and gentle to seduce the mouth. We now have a case to share with friends, and photos to treaure.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Our hosts were warm and welcoming.
6.3 Good
Pros: Country setting off the beaten path. Partially restored country manor, Very friendly staff and owner. Very good meal on site. Relaxing setting large comfortable rooms
Cons: More difficult location to find. Wet damp night that we stayed could have used some heating
7.7 Good
Pros: The location surrounded by vineyards and the countryside was beautiful when we were there in the fall. We enjoyed the hospitality of the staff and a delicious dinner prepared by Valentina. The fact that we had a GPS helped us find it with ease. It would have been nice to spend nother night or two.
7.7 Good
Pros: Beautiful setting, wonderful staff and great food.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Food was wonderlfull, owners are very nice people and Jimmy the dog very cute
Cons:
5.6 Okay
Pros: The staff were very good, the building interesting and the attention to detail in the decor phenomenal
Cons: The pool was murky, the proprietors weren't there and left us in the hands of their gardener cum cook and the cleaning chap, there was no price list for the meals and no chance to negotiate as the cook couldn't speak English and our Italian wasn't good enough. When the owners did arrive they were courteous and perfunctory.
7.6 Good
Pros: beautiful place, very nice people, good food and wine... excellent!
Cons: no fridge in room
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything, the place is magical, the ‘domain’ and surroundings are fabulous, and last but not the least, the people (Valentina and Luigi) are incredible! You’ll not believe that it’s real.
Cons: The only regret is that we can not spend the rest of our life there in Terensano.
5.6 Okay
Pros: People was very friendly...
Cons: No

7.0 Good
Pros: We booked this hotel because of the extra spa facilities and so it was very disappointing that they were not working as the long walk up and down the hill every day into town became more of a chore. The breakfast however was wonderful with freshly baked cakes and breads, Italian meats and cheese, yogurt, fruit, nuts, cappacino etc. It was a beautiful building with interesting original art work everywhere and Bobby was very kind by picking us up from town our first night when we got lost and could not find a taxi!
Cons: Not being able to use the sauna, hot tub (or pool due to being bitten alive!)
7.5 Good
Pros: Beautiful, classic Italian house, old school but charming if a little creepy! Bobby, our host, could not have been more hospitable. He also booked us into a beautiful restaurant for the evening of our stay.
Cons: The garden was quite wonderful but the garden furniture was dirty and a bit run down. You didn’t really feel like sitting in the garden. The swimming pool was also dirty (full of leaves and dirt) so we found a local swimming pool and took our daughter there instead which she loved.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful house beautiful location! Bobby is the host he was exceptionally kind . Breakfast was amazing.

Pros: Website

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast here was like a four seasons hotel brunch. So beautiful and we had a gigantic two private balcony. You have to see the photos. It is not in the most touristic area, but it was a perfect to stay after we landed from Milan airport on our way to Cinque Terre.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A wonderful quirky boutique guest house with the benefit of having Bobby as a brilliantly helpful guide throughout - we absolutely loved it and will definitely be back

7.0 Good
Cons: Chlorine smell all over the place, rooms are large but not well thought through and not cozy enough to enjoy the stay - many important things are missing (e.g. there was no frying pan or wine glasses); the owners should try to live themselves in these apartments to better understand what needs to be improved. Surprisingly, I have had no housekeeping service during my entire stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good place, nice to stay. Everything is perfect, hope to cooperate again.
5.0 Okay
Cons: smell of chlorine is everywhere, even in the bedroom. hard to breath, to sleep, to enjoy a stay..

Cons: Access to the indoor pool is for an additional charge only.

Pros: This is a gem of a little hotel full of charm. The staff is very nice and helpful and breakfast is done for you in the morning. Places like Vila Giulia transport you to a timeless world where there was still hope. In addition to that, you get all current facilities like high bandwidth WiFi. I'd love to return one day.
Cons: Nothing! Simply its location should fit with your trip schedule. Or change it to fit with Vila Giulia.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: A great traditional Italian hotel. Built with style and the owners you can see treasure the place and ensure everything is great. Breakfast was served to us and it was beautiful. Excellent service too and lovely breakfast room. It was a good location for us on our way home to France after traveling thru Italy.
Cons: There was nothing not to like.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We had a beautiful, large, air conditioned room and a superb bathroom with a long bath as well as a shower and bidet. The breakfast was a feast! Fresh fruit salad, yogurts, ham, cheese, fresh bread rolls, butter and jams, a selection of cakes. Best cappuccino we have had. All served to us by a smiling waitress in a very pretty breakfast room.
Cons: Tortona itself is not a pretty place and the walk into town was unpleasant. However, we found an excellent restaurant - La Corte - which we would recommend. Tortona was a convenient stopping place and Hotel Villa Julia is easily accessed from the motorway.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfrct
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Large comfortable room, very friendly owners, helpful and welcoming. Best of all the breakfast has to be experienced, wonderful !
Cons: Located on a busy road, care is needed entering and exiting the property by car, and especially as a pedestrian as there are no footpaths on the hotel side of the road.

Cons: Location is remote and transport scarse so careful planning is required if you don't have your own set of wheels - not a negative in itself, just something to keep in mind.

Pros: Marco went above and behind to accommodate our every need
Cons: no air con , no card payment option

Pros: The breakfast could be better considering that it was part rural. Could of served eggs for starters. All of the breakfast was packaged processed food.

Pros: Excellent staff and comfort
9.3 Excellent
Pros: - The host is welcoming and relaxed. - The location is excellent. A few minutes drive from the main road, yet quiet and peaceful. - Nice views. - Very comfortable bed.
Cons: - The breakfast, is missing the option of fresh bread, cornflakes, and milk. But otherwise it was ok.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We booked one night, since we wanted a break for the trip to the south. For one night it was ideal for us. It is a quiet place with a nice view outside. The room was simple. The host Marco was very friendly and made us a typical italian breakfast with fresh coffee and tee on the morning.
Cons: Not a big issue for us, but we didn't expected this: The private bathroom was not inside the room itself but separated by a curtain for private use only. Of course the toilet had a door to close.
7.0 Good
Pros: Friendly host, however his English was not the best. Safe parking behind the house.
Cons: We were passing through and had booked this facility because it was on our way. It is located quite remotely, so luckily we had already stopped for dinner! The bathroom was not in our room, but in a room in the hallway next to our room. The hallway was then cut off by a curtain, which was fine for 1 night, but a little unpractical for longer stays. Our mattress was of the old days with springs, so is due for replacement if you ask me.
9.3 Excellent
Cons: Breakfast. Rusks instead of bread...is not good beginning of the day.
7.5 Good
Cons: George, the host was great, very friendly and helpful. The property is very pretty, the room with private bath very spacious and with a good view.
6.8 Good
Pros: Nice hosts. Got tea brought to our room. Lots of choice for breakfast. Loved being in the countryside. Easy for parking, bikes. Good wifi. There’s a great restaurant in Spineto Scrivia.
Cons: Bathroom was hairy. You could hear a bit of family noise downstairs/outside. Would have liked some fruit for breakfast and kettle in our room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We arrived by train in Tortona and planned to take the bus to the small village carbonara 5 min. Walk from villa Carmen, but when we arrived in Tortona the last bus service just finished. We called villa Carmen and he they came to pick us up. Great hospitality!! Super service!!! The room and the bathroom were very clean! Breakfast was very good with an amazing cappuccino! Lovely very quiet area and in the morning waking up with the sound of the birds and the sun beams in our eyes. Best pizza in town at la Rocca only 5 min. Walk through the little beautiful village of carbonara. Don’t miss the tiramisu!! After our 2 night stay we were brought to Tortona again and toke the train to Genoa! Thank you villa Carmen for the relaxing stay!

A large kitchen can be used for breakfast and/or snacks. Lots of privacy is provided due to complete floor belonging to the two rooms. The view and peacefulness top it all up! Highly recommended!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner is a real character and proved very helpul, though very no-nonsense. Think Italian Basil Fawlty, but in a good way. Very clean, with a genuine homey vibe.
Cons: Compared to other B&B in Italy, the breakfast was disappointing: packaged sweet cakes and dry crackers formed the core, with assorted jams and mediocre coffee, If you are looking for an overnight while travelling through the region, this is not a very "easy on, easy off" location.

Pros: We loved our stay at Hotel Milano. The gardens & pool area were so tranquil, the perfect place to relax and unwind after a long trip!! The room was very comfortable and clean!! We were able to speak with the owners and they were very nice and accommodating. They have a pizzeria in the hotel which was one of the best pizzas We’ve ever had!! We will definitely return and recommend to our friends. Thank you Hotel Milano for making our first night in Italy so special!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location and a well maintained hotel that has clearly had some investment recently with modern bathrooms, ideal place to stay if you are in the area. Hotel has a lovely restaurant as well as swimming pool. We were there for one night whilst collecting an aircraft from the local airfield but I would stay there again if I was in the area.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the beautiful garden setting of this hotel and the pizzeria/bar in the middle of it. A great place to enjoy a cocktail and an excellent pizza. Staff are friendly and the owners are bi-lingual and very knowledgable about the area, it's history, and interesting things to do there.

Pros: Wonderful breakfast, good location. Perfect restaurant in 100 meters. Parking.
Cons: Plastic shower/wc cabin. Very noisy until 1am.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location, family owned hotel and made to feel very welcome. Superb restaurant with award winning pizzas. Excellent value for money, very clean ,swimming pool lovely and excellent parking facilities. Would recommend to all family and friends a little gem.
7.5 Good
Pros: The location, the receptionist always ready to help for any question.Good value for price.
Cons: 2 Rooms with separate door but only 1 key room.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Friendly staff.
Cons: I really am mystified as to how the Milano has scored as high. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. The standard room was very basic & old-pink walls and blue carpets just don't do it, the furniture needs updating, a small portable TV is inadequate , the bathroom was dated and the shower facility was inadequate - depressing!! New bar had opened up downstairs which created an almighty noise to 3am, no soundproofing whatsoever, people strolling in and out of the hotel as they pleased which kept me up.The breakfast was terrible, poor quality food, little or no personal service. We left a day early, would not recommend, the owners need to decide if they want a bar or a successful hotel, they don't have the infrastructure to do both!

Cons: Outdated decor and furnishings.
7.6 Good
Pros: I give this hotel, the staff, the atmosphere my absolute best recommendations. Salice is a charming little city with Hotel Milano as the citys pearl. The first morning we woke up and went to the restaurant, the owner came to our table and asked if we knew about the area - we told him "not much", and he returned with maps, brochures etc. etc. He even had time to sit down and explains us where to go, what to see, and where to buy delicate local wines etc. etc. Time ... relaxing ... cozy atmosphere are the best words to describe this place. I am for sure coming back!
Cons: I just hope the hotel stays around for a very long time ... you don't see to many places like this anymore.

Cons: I HAD A PROBLEM TO FIND THE PLACE WAS BUT WAS PLEASANTLY SURPRISED WHEN I GOT THERE
6.3 Good
Pros: Location is very convenient, on short distance from the outlet and with good restaurant. Food was good and wine selection was excellent with local wines and a bit more distant wineries.
Cons: We booked two rooms for three people and at the end were placed in two rooms every one with 3 beds. So we paid 50 euros extra for single room occupancy just for nothing. We could have easily stayed together- family of three. Breakfast is Italian style- sweets and more sweet stuff, just not my favorite, so be aware as selection is not great.
4.3 Okay
Pros: Nice from outside.
Cons: Staff not friendly, food wasn’t tasty.I will never come back!
7.0 Good

Cons: Lorry in next car park running fridge unit all night.

Pros: Nice for an overnight stay during our road trip
Cons: Too many truck drivers occupied the reception area
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a perfect overnight stop-off point. We were driving from Croatia back to South of France and this was perfect. Loads of truck and car drivers stop here for the night and the rooms are spacious, quiet, well equipped and comfortable. There are two restaurants: One restaurant offers a very inexpensive 3-course menu with about 4 choices per course The other offers an a la carte menu with a good range of dishes, all very good value and the dishes we ordered were well cooked and presented. The waiting staff were excellent and the wine list was good too. What more could you ask for?
Cons: Nothing
7.5 Good
Pros: Silence at night. OK restaurant.
Cons: There was no fridge. Bottle water was not in the room. Breakfast could have been better (but anyway OK for Italy).
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Clean ans cheap.
Cons: Basicly nice staff, but in the morning there was only 1 chocolate croissant left, and one of the kitchenstaff who came to work, went to the buffet and took it for his own breakfast.
7.0 Good
Pros: Room ok breakfast not so good. Dinner (ala carte ( was really good.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: It has a really pretty courtyard and garden great for sitting in for a beer. It has an amazing Italian restaraunt which is incedable value. Loads of parking.
Cons: Very difficult to find. Our Porsche sat nav would not find it. As we have been there before we know the trick is to put in a fuel station just down the road (Q8 Petrol Staion SP211 Tortona on the Porsche sat nav) otherwise you will really struggle to find it. The main course for the evening meal which was a massive stew that was served to you but other clients were haveing massive amounts and then leaving it all so the selection was starting to run out when I was served. They should reduce portions people are allowed to take to reduce food waste and allow a full selection for later clients.
