Pros: Kickstart and hot breakfast were perfect! Room was very clean. Staff were very helpful and incredibly polite
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Our second time in this particular Drury. Right in downtown Pittsburgh, walking distance to many cultural venues. Clean and comfortable.
Cons: While one should not complain about "freebies", the food served during the 5-7 happy hour has not changed since our last visit and can best be described as "street food". Kids enjoy it though. The pool does not open until 9 am, which is right after breakfast for most people. I would have loved to have an early morning swim, before the crowds take over. Please open the pool earlier.

Pros: The food options were good but very crowded.
Cons: Just a view of the brick wall of the building next door, but it didn't bother us much since we were in town primarily for work. I'd stay here again if in Pittsburgh.

Pros: Comfort of room, price, free parking
Cons: No vegan milks at breakfast
6.8 Good

Kimpton Hotel Monaco Pittsburgh - Pittsburgh - Bedroom
8
9.2 Excellent (2,066 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Where the storied three rivers meet in downtown Pittsburgh, your own story begins at Hotel Monaco. Housed in a striking 1903 building in the Central Business District across from Mellon Square Park, our boutique hotel has a playfully bold design that’s unafraid to make a statement. Across 248 guest rooms, 13 suites, and 11,300 square feet of meeting space, you’ll see curiously charming touches, like golden birdcage chandeliers, while many of our 13 suites boast separate living rooms with sleeper sofas, soaking tubs and views of the city skyline.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Decour was modern and beautiful! The room had all the amenities one could need.
Cons: The only thing that we didn’t care for was the price point. It was a Wednesday night and we spent $245. Also, the parking was too far away from the building.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Bed was comfortable. Room decor was funky and fun. Staff was friendly and responsive. Location was central. Happy hour was a nice bonus. The Commoner restaurant was outstanding; try the dessert with the fig cake and rye vanilla ice cream!

Cons: Valet Parking - There is a way to say that something will cost money, and I hope that the folks at valet parking learn the right way to do that. Also, I wish there were more vegetarian and vegan choices in their menu.
7.0 Good

Cons: The bathroom had a half shower door and no matter what the floor gets soaked when you shower (very poor design). One of the white towels had a very large stain.

Cons: The lifts were very slow.

7.5 Good
Pros: Very nice furnishings, comfortable bed, well stocked kitchen.
Cons: Fan in bedroom is very loud, need it on because there is no ventilation in smaller bedroom, air conditioning units r in bedroom and living area, and because of placement of bedroom the air flow is blocked. Also pillows r hard.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was secure with lots of door locks and security camera's in the common area. I liked the coffee stand in the kitchen in Bldg F. The one bedroom suite was very nice and comfortable. I loved the SunnySide area which had lots of walkable restaurants.
Cons: I think the tub has been resurfaced and was extremely slick and there were no hand grabs which made it feel very hazardous for my size and age. I bought my own non-slip tub mat at Target and put it in my tub to reduce my slip/fall risk during showers.

Pros: Pool, fresh omelette at breakfast
Cons: Room booked for 4 persons, but equipped for 2 (had to organize everything after arrival, just 2 high chairs), phone not working/reception desk not reachable via phone, cards with phone instructions unreadable, family friendly room with high chairs in the room and breakfast room? Just 2 large family tables which were in use or completely dirty, panel between carpet and plastic floor had nails coming out - for security we always worn shoes in the room

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The view was amazing at night and the staff was very pleasant to work with
5.5 Okay
Pros: The views were amazing.
Cons: Well the sofa bed was awful...needs a new mattress as well they cleaning ladies never gave enough towels we always had to ask for more.
6.8 Good
Pros: Very good location. Easy access from highway and walking steps to restaurants, stores, and the riverside. Nice and spacious suite, with comfortable king size bed, big living room area, and fully-equipped kitchen. Great views of the river. Valets were friendly.
Cons: The main problem was the noise from other guest rooms. Very thin walls and ceilings made you heard every movement, sound, and conversation from other suites. About breakfast: coffee and savories were OK, but fruit, yogurt, bread, and pastries selection very poor (and no bagels). Also, there were some cleaning/maintenance issues: suite's kitchen and bathroom floors were sticky, and the carpets in common areas were visibly dirty and tired. Finally, there was only one elevator to connect all the guestroom floors and got busy at peak times.
10.0 Excellent

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast: Good variety and omelet station. Good view of river. Tables and chairs outside to relax after fun day in Pittsburg. Comfortable coach in living area as well as comfortable bed.

Cons: Room Floor was very dirty.
7.5 Good
Pros: Modern up to date decor. The shuttle driver was extremely kind and if I go back he will be the only reason I return.
Cons: The hotel staff at the front desk are extremely rude and not very helpful. Very disappointed in the front desk but the staff at the restaurant was very kind and the shuttle driver was so kind and very knowledgeable of the city and if I would return the shuttle driver would be the only reason I stay at the hotel again.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very nice, and the water that I was able to get from the bar to fill my water bottle tasted amazing. The brownie sundae was delicious, and one of the guys at the front desk escorted me up to the rooftop eating area to eat it. I didn't even know they had rooftop dining. there was also a refrigerator in the room, which allowed me to get some yogurt and fruit and juice to have for breakfast the next day, and the restaurant easily gave me a spoon so that I could eat it. I also love the view because when I requested, they changed my two queen beds to a King and I was able to have a room on the fourth floor, Riverside. There is also a pedestrian bridge about a block from the hotel, and if you cross it, you are in a friendly part of Pittsburgh (is there an unfriendly part?) where there are coffee shops and plenty of places to eat. Driving mile the opposite direction on the same side of the river, and you get into the college district where they have even more places to eat and see. Staying at this Hotel in Pittsburgh made my trip wonderful.
Cons: there are a couple places where I saw evidence that someone else had stayed there, a little hair on the floor and a water stain on the dresser. But the overall cleanliness made up for that. I also did not love the lighting because they used those cool white bulbs that don't fully light up a room. During the day it was perfect, because the enormous window let in a bunch of sunlight.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was spacious and beautiful. The touches related to the old steel mill were well done.
Cons: There was nothing I didn't like.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location in relation to our activities.
Cons: Was charged twice for a one night stay.

Pros: The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. The pool was great for kids! The location was good but not as close as I would have liked to be. Room was huge! We really Liked the nighttime snacks and free parking!
Cons: It was a little farther than the reviews said. Room was clean but you can tell it is a little dated. This didn’t have any effect on our trip at all! We still had a blast, just VERY expensive and for 470.00 for two nights, I guess you notice that stuff.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was perfect to get to PNC Park
Cons: Rooms were not very quiet. Every noise from hallway could be heard in the room.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. The view from our bedroom was really good, we we're able to see the river and were right across from PNC Park. The rooms were pretty quiet, I never heard any other guests. The restaurant inside the hotel was also very good.
Cons: While the bed was comfortable it was very low to the ground and made a lot of creaking noises as you were getting in and out. The setup of the bed made it look as though it was a Murphy bed which I found to be a little odd. Also while I love having plenty of hot water, it seems the only option on the water dial was hot, super hot, and blazing hot. And when it was close to 90+ degrees outside sometimes a little cooler would be nice.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, very comfortable room.
Cons: Common areas, like hallways needed more cleaning.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Just expensive when compared to other very nice hotels

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Love the way they repurposed this beautiful old YMCA without erasing its integrity and well worn scars.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Awesome vibe, great bar and great food. Stylish room, comfy bed. Pet friendly!
Cons: There was some sort of mixer in the lobby - it was a PARTY! I enjoyed the ambience and being down in the middle of it while grabbing a glass of wine, but if you're sensitive to sound, you won't want to spend a ton of time in the lobby after 9pm!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice room. Fun lobby and restaurant, with great food. Will be back.
4.0 Okay
Pros: Restaurant was good. The soap in the room smelled good.
Cons: Nothing stands out as really bad, but the experience gradually whittled away satisfaction with the stay. Bar stools unusually uncomfortable. Other lobby furniture equally so (and dirty). Actually, doesn't appear to be a comfortable chair in the entire hotel. Folding metal/canvas chair in room good for camping--useless otherwise. Rainfall showerhead placed 6 inches from the wall--took a shower uncomfortably close to the front of the shower enclosure. Bathroom light too dim for wife to put on makeup. Initial impression of stylishness gave way to a dorm-like feel. More like an Ikea infused Super 8 accessorized with thrift store accessories. $9 (small) plastic cup of wine served at the event in the "gym" was likely from a box of Franzia Blush spigotted into a bottle for for the pretense of a pour. By the the following morning, when the barista dude said "three bones, my man," for a paper cup of coffee, I had reached my affectation limit. Anyone over 40, stay away.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The rooms and folks that worked there. Friendly and kind
Cons: Wish we had free coffee or discounted since we were guest

6.3 Good
Pros: Good location and clean room.
Cons: The fact that I needed to pay for the parking although it is under the hotel. The kitchen doesn't have all that is required for cooking. We've booked this hotel/room because it was advertised as fully suitable for cooking and this is important to us due to food allergies, however the limited equipment limits the number of dishes one can cook
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was excellent with great breakfast and amenities
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very appreciative of all the accommodations and courtesies
7.5 Good
Pros: The bed and pillows are amazing. Very comfortable. The room was spacious. However, even though the room was clean, there was waste in the trash can upon our arrival. After spending the night, we went out and upon our return found the bed made, towels replaced, new soap, shampoo, etc., but trash still there. This was a bit disappointing. We love the location to the Strip District and Lidia's. The breakfast buffet was good and staff who worked the breakfast buffet were very nice and worked hard to keep things filled and clean. Other impressive, friendly staff were the valet parking employees. They were very nice, very informative and helpful. One of the valets was the only one who offered to find us a luggage rack. We were told by front desk employees that we'd have to look for one.
Cons: Some staff members were rather cold and came off as rude. My mother called the front desk to ask if there were any newspapers and if so, could someone bring one to our room. The desk employee said no problem. When the staff member came with the paper, my mom said "thank you so much", and gave a $2.00 tip, to which the person mumbled "uh-huh". Not good. The only other issue is not having luggage carts available and since the lobby is on the lower level from the front desk, we were told that we'd have to go downstairs and see if any were available. They really should have someone who brings these to the front desk.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: The shuttle left without us after the gsme.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The courtyard was beautiful..the sheets were wonderful..the decor was tasteful
Cons: No coffee until 7
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Priory was so much better than we expected. Parking was a breeze & close by, check-in was super easy & fast, the Hotel was well-maintained and quite charming for a variety of reasons, and the staff was extra friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Our stay was a wonderful introduction to Pittsburgh, and we plan on coming back. And BTW, the breakfast buffet was really quite nice with good coffee/tea/juice, fresh fruit, yogurt, assorted breads, FABULOUS pastries, cereal/oatmeal, and assorted cheeses and sausage - unique in some ways that should please most. The kitchen staff was great! As an added bonus, table cloths, real cutlery and dinnerware, and different locations to enjoy your meal - making the experience "special" rather than the "chain hotel" same old same old. And a Special Mention for Monk's Bar where we had the pleasure of meeting Heather (a great bartenderess) and other hotel guests - it's cozy and just right for the Priory atmosphere!
Cons: Our bathroom was spacious enough, however the shower was quite tight...we managed... ;-D
9.7 Excellent
Pros: The staff was Amazing and very helpful. The only thing I didn’t rate as Great was the location, only because it is a short walk to the major attractions and not in the best area, not that we had any issuess. But the hotel offered a free shuttle to all of the locations we were trying to go to. Also one of the few hotels offering Free parking. The small bar was really cool and had all the offerings I needed. The hotel is old but really neat and I appreciated all the fine details. The breakfast wasn’t out of this world , but it was free so I wasn’t complaining.
Cons: For the price and services I have no complaints .
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was a Continental breakfast all cold with cheese, cold meat, some fruit, coffee, juice and pastries. The location for a baseball game or a football game is excellent with the unexpected use of a shuttle that will whisk you about. The building has a lot of history and it is reflected by the way the hotel is decorated.
Cons: The first appearance of the hotel is that it might be in an awkward location at the end of a one way street and very near the expressway. The surrounding area about the hotel has seen better times and left me a little nervous. Once one gets over this it is fine; we walked to a nearby restaurant and tavern with no problem.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very nice and helpful, free shuttle was great, room and bathroom were clean
Cons: Doors don’t close well, neighbor hood is a bit iffy but I had no issues
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful property, terrific room, super friendly staff and great breakfast spread!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was very good. The neighborhood of the hotel is not great, but we had no problems, and if it was an easy walk to PNC Park.
Cons: The neighborhood was a little rough, but we had no problems.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Tremendous personal attention to all requests. Hotel shuttle basically deliver you to anywhere in the city at no cost. Although tips are appreciated. Great location for walking to PNC and North Shore walkway.
Cons: Room we stayed in was small, but perfect for two. Could not stay there with more than two.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful property with unique, comfortable rooms. We appreciated the friendliness of the staff and the amenities (in-hotel bar with light snacks, free parking lot across the street from the hotel).
Cons: The caliber of the breakfast offerings did not match that of the hotel. No real choices available for guests with special dietary needs (vegan, gluten-free, etc). Also, our room near the front desk was a little noisy.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very helpful and friendly. Shuttle service was wonderful benefit. Breakfast was plain but healthy. Could have used hot eggs to achieve higher rating.
Cons: Bathroom was too small. But totally sufficient.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. The hotel has lots of charm and history. We loved the free shuttle service that they offered.
Cons: Nothing

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was amazing. As we returned our car rental upon arriving to Pittsburgh, we loved the nearby location to the subway, Market Square and PNC Baseball Park. Free transport between PNC and a few downtown subway stops on game days. The airport is quite a ways from downtown Pittsburgh. Give yourself extra time for your taxi or Uber service to get you there.
Cons: No complaints. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super clean, well maintained, and in a great location to access downtown pittsburgh/ market square attractions. My other guest forgot her key and I was asleep, but the concierge was very friendly and gave her another. Much appreciated.
Cons: Parking is expensive - would appreciate a discount for hotel stayers.
6.3 Good
Pros: Location was great pretty lobby area. Clean rooms.
Cons: We booked a Junior suite with a king bed and a sofa bed for four people. The sofa bed was a twin sofa bed. When I called and told the girl at the desk that there is no way two kids can sleep on that, her response was “I know.” If they know, they should not book this room for four people. I then asked for a rollaway bed. They do not have those at this property. They do have air mattresses but she initially told me they were already all out. Then they brought an air mattress by several minutes later which was half deflated. By the time we got back from our evening the mattress was completely deflated. We tried to sleep three in the king bed but that didn’t work so I ended up on couch pillows on the floor. We will not stay here again. Air mattresses should never be used in a hotel because they always leak with multiple uses. Spend some money and get some roll aways! And don’t advertise your rooms for what they are not.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The bed was very comfortable and the staff brought up an already blown up air mattress quickly after we requested one!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My husband and I were so pleased with the accommodating, helpful, staff.. The front desk agent(s) were very helpful in answering questions as this was our first time in downtown Pittsburgh. Very close to great restaurants and walkability to PNC Park. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again.
Cons: No issues.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Clean, comfortable rooms in a great location. Staff was super friendly and helpful, walk to most anything in the downtown area, lots of good restaurants and bars very close by. Room was quiet and comfortable. The onsite restaurant Revel is very good and has really good breakfast and a great weekend brunch!
Cons: The view from the room was of a lower roof and air conditioning units for the property, not really much they can do about that though, otherwise it is a great palce.
