Room:all rinnovated, very clean Swimming pool:large area could be relax
Nice swimmingpool in the green, very relaxing atmosphere!
The price It's not a very good hotel. Dingy rooms. Wouldn't stay there again
The bathtub had hair in it. So that wasn't good. But other than that, the rest was very clean.
Large swimming pool, reception 24/7 More a motel than an hotel. Very 1970s, old, shabby. The bathroom smelled moldy. We were woken up by the hotel extension construction work, dogs and people yelling in the corridor. You can very well hear when other people go to the bathroom due to the poor plumbing. The breakfast was awfull: stale bread and cakes, even the marmelade had a strange taste. Our view was not panoramic at all (as suggested by the name of the hotel) : our window opened on the parking... The price was very high for such a place. For the same price you can have a wonderfull B&B in Tuscany. We do not recommand it!!
Construction in progress Hard to find
the location near Montepulciano, the pool-area.
The hotel organizes visits to local vineyards for just 10 euros, perfect. The pool is great. The view from the hotel also.
Central location to nearby sights and towns. In quiet area with beautiful natural surroundings, views and scenery. Spacious, comfortable rooms. Generous buffet breakfast. I wish the promotional rate for which I managed to book our room will be offered also in the future.
Beautiful location, large room, clean, good breakfast There was central heating operating only in the rooms, leaving all other reception, dining and sitting areas quite cold.
The Spa The matresses where to hard not too comfortable
Central location, parking facilities Our room had a shared balcony with the neighbouring room. When the guest from this room smoked his cigarettes outside, we got the whole smoke into our room, unless we closed the window. The surroundings of the hotel are rather run-down, the pedestrian walk-ways in poor condition.
Nice and new, but rather small rooms. Nice outlook towards the valley reception personnel correct but rather uninterested. Breakfast room/restaurant is a big hall and does look like a factory restaurant.
Nice, new rooms with good facilities and parking at the hotel. Beautiful city of Montepulciano on only 10 minutes distance from the hotel. The treatment at the reception is really very unfriendly, on going chewing her gum! Restaurants in the neighbourhood are very few or were closed. Wellness is not included. Distance to Siena is longer than on the booking site !
area, view, spacious room, style the breakfast should be more varied
Good location. Very nice staff, very helpful in any problems we had. We love to have freash water and other drinks in our fridge free of charge. Also the Spa side offered free water, tea and fruits. We felt Spa area was not warm enough. Also staying there for one week we felt that breakfasts were simple and everyday we had the same choices. The room we had was too little to be 4 stars +.
Good location, friendly staff, clean facilities Very noisy. My room was below the kitchen / dining room with all noises from 05:15 am.from the kitchen staff being heard in the bedroom and subsequently unable to sleep.
Staff was very helpful. Great views. Walls were thin. We could hear people in next room very clearly.
location shower was moldy and too small. Bed was lumpy
Good location - not right in the center of things, but an easy walk. Staff was exceptionally helpful. Good parking, clean rooms. Good breakfast (see cons, though). It's nice to have a mini-fridge in the room, esp. for longer stays. They should really just build the price of breakfast into the room rate so you don't have to mess with paying separately.
Proximity to town center Fairly basic but good value
The air conditioning was not working on my first night, which was horribly hot. I changed room for the second night
The guy at the reception was the sweetest most helpful guy ever! All the staff was real nice. Location was great. Clean! Wifi worked well! :)
The staff was excellent, the facilities were great and We had an excellent holiday anything
simple accomodation with ease of access to the town.
Great hotel and lots of space, good breakfast. The shower was a wet room typr shower - in the middle of the room!!! This set up just di not work.
The location of the hotel was great. Within easy walking distance to Montepulciano yet outside the walls so parking was not an issue. The room was very small but comfortable. Shower did not drain properly so water ended up all over bathroom floor.
We really liked the peaceful, beautiful surroundings and the restaurant meals were outstanding. The experience surpassed our expectations on all fronts. The staff really went out of their way to ensure we had th ebest experience possible.
The service was excellent! The staff were attentive to all of our needs and tried to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained. The infinitie pool had an amazing tuscan view!! It was difficult to get a restful night sleep. One night we found two scorpions above our bed. One was very large. The owners very generously came and killed them. There were also a lot of other bugs that were in our room. We slept with the lights on and with the netting. I think that the experience with the scorpions made us more anxious about what else was crawling in our room. Plus the air conditioning was not working well so we were very hot.
Villa Cicolina did not disappoint on anything, we loved the rooms, pool, food, garden and especially the friendly staff who could not do enough to make our stay perfect ! Every attention has been made to make this a want to return hotel !
The property was simply magical, like living in a fairy tale. The set gourmet menu, intimate setting, and understated but genuinely friendly service made the stay unforgettable.
This was the biggest of our several spurges on our 2 week trip through Italy and well worth it. World class views of the Tuscany countryside, picture book suites and lovely country atmosphere. My finance was absolutely blown away. We had the only balcony suite which may have the best views. Generally a quiet country atmosphere... The breakfast is lovely and the dinners an excellent value as an additional cost –just outstanding homemade pasta dishes as a primi course. The casual atmosphere encourages conversations with other couples and we really enjoyed getting to know travelers from Sweden, Portland and Italy. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous with an infinity pool not heated but still refreshing even in October). Fruit trees with ripe figs and pomegranates. Surrounded by old olive groves and vineyards. Highest recommendation – may have been the best lodging experience of the many I’ve had over the years. Particularly good as a romantic getaway/honeymoon. Younger children and teens may not appreciate the relax pace as much.
Everything was excellent.
the staff was incredible. the grounds are awesome.
Beautiful setting with wonderful server who always greeted you with a smile and cheerful service at breakfast and who was a great host at dinner. Pool was lovely and room was very large with spectacular views. No
mosstly i liked the surroundings the gardens & the pleasent attitude of the staff if you don`t want to get complaints what the the use of this question?
This was an outstanding hotel. I highly recommend this hotel going forward.
A beautiful, small hotel with a very pretty garden. It is in a good location for reaching the town. The owners are very pleasant and helpful. The accommodation is charming and immaculate.
We enjoyed our stay. The location was ideal for walking into Multipulciano and driving about Tuscany. The B&B grounds were lovely and private. The room and dining area were very clean. The convenience of breakfast and coffee was much appreciated. The bedroom and sitting room could benefit from more light. Either higher wattage or more lamps.
Extremely comfortable hotel in beautiful surroundings. Very high quality accomodation and excellent value for money. Rooms were the best we have stayed in in Italy and breakfast was excellent!
The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The hotel was excellent - very clean and nice breakfast! Good location.
The hotel was a real gem. The rooms were absolutely charming. They were arranged in pairs, having a siting area between them. The rooms and en suite bathrooms were large, tastefully appointed and extremely clean. The breakfast was a real continental combination and was constantly replenished. The hotel was in lovely gardens anwas only a 5 - 10 minute walk to the walls of Montepulchiano. A super hotel at a remarkably modest price. Nothing
The hotel staff was very helpful in recommending great dinner options. Hotel had a good location, short 10 minute walk to the heart of Montepulciano.
Large room with airco. Beautiful, large bathroom. Good breakfast. Free parking.
Wonderful and gracious hosts. Terrific location for touring, wine region and town access. Very clean, tasteful and spacious rooms. All facilities upgraded and working well. Breakfasts were lovely and fresh. One of the best accommodations on our 6 week tour of Italy !
Hotel was a great find. Great location, very comfortable and exceptional service.
You feel like you are staying in a palace, with ornate room furnishings and high frescoed ceilings. The rooms include luxury modern bathrooms, with fancy basins, rain shower, and lights that change colour for the added ambience. The rooms are equipped with new technology including CD player with Ipod dock, free internet (wifi or via internetTV), and a Nespresso machine. Minibar items were complimentary and they also included 15minutes of international calls free. Breakfast was great - fresh bread and croissants and a range of fruit. The staff treat are very friendly and helpful. finding the parking lot was challenging
We rented the view suite, and it was fantastic. The staff was excellent. Location could not be better.
Amazing view from suite booked. Presentation of hotel. Helpfullness of staff.
Wow - have never stayed in anything so unique. A genuine Palazzo. Great welcome by staff and information about the area with excellent food recommendations too. Was mesmerised by fresco on roof of our room. Bathrooms are modern. This hotel provides a memorable stay and wonderful experience. Every room is different but all are special. Like hotels in any hilltop Italian town - not easy to reach but staff couldn't be more helpful to assist - directing us right to the door and alerting local police to our short term unloading of bags out the front before we moved our car to the nearby hotel parking space.
clean, neat, excellent breakfast, nice people, silent, relaxing we found our beds were without sheets so the staff upgraded us to a better room with no upcharge. No complain about it.
The rooms were good sized, staff were very friendly and the relaxation spa was easily accessible and very well maintained. The location was pretty good, we just walked from a bus stop, but others would probably prefer a car, especially if you're travelling to other areas around Chianciano. Nothing, although dinner was expensive (25 euro each), which was a bit steep for us. Everything else was fantastic.
The rooms are very clean and well decorated. The breakfast is terrible, probably the worst I have ever had.
Good hotel, staff quite pleasant and helpful, rooms cleaned daily and well-serviced. Compared to some of the local hotels there wasn't much of an atmosphere in the hotel - e.g. bar seemed to close very early and not much going on in the evenings. OK if you require quieter accommodation
We like a really big bathroom and a good breakfast, helpful hotel stuff and a good location for our trips. No air-condition in room, a view from our room (the roof of a swimming pool)
Very good breakfast & convenient location No English language TV channel
The location of the hotel is very nice and it is easy to get into Montepulciano while still being in the countryside. The view from our balcony was very nice.
The lady at the front desk was accomodating when she was on duty. The bathroom was clean. The hotel was very disappointing for independent travellers. We booked looking forward to a balcony with panoramic views but were given back lane views. The men serving at the hotel were very rude and lazy and berated us for not locking the front door, even though we didnt know how to and it was during the day. It was very expensive for a tiny room with outdated decor and no facilities- no refrigerator even. Busloads of German tourists stayed here and were given all the rooms with views and priority at breakfast, which was average. Do not stay in Montipulciano- go to Pienza instead.
Close to Montepucciano's historical center (10min walk) and excellent restaurants.
the kindness of the owners. I would rather the way up to the hotel was more indicated around the main road. It was a bit difficult to get there, specially at nigth, coming back from montepulciano.
This hotel was amazing! We just traveled through Italy and stayed at five different hotels. Not only was this hotel far superior to all the others but it was also the least expensive. They offer the amenities of a large hotel (free WiFi internet, cable TV, complimentary breakfast) yet offer the comfort and personal feel of a bed and breakfast. The thing that stuck out the most was the warmth and kindness of their staff. Everyone was extremely friendly and went out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. I came down from my room at about 10 PM and asked them where the closest place to get something to eat was and they offered to make myself and my wife a sandwich themselves (which was delicious). 5 stars!
The hotel is located about 3 miles out of Montepulciano in a fairly quiet location but within a short walking distance of some shops. Tthe hotel was spotlessly clean and we were well cared for by the owners, the breakfast was typical 'continental'. The price was very good for the area. We were fortunate to have a small balcony which gave us an additional seating area and was very pleasant during the warm evenings
- very friendly staff - very clean rooms - very good breakfast - very good dinner - very good service - good location to see the sights around montepulciano - very loud due to busy street! - the swimming pool is 400 meters away
This family-run hotel was a very convenient location for traveling to Montepulciano, Pienza and other Sienese hill towns for a very reasonable price. The sons spoke English well; the parents not so much, but they were very kind and tried hard. Food was very good, both at the nearby Pizzeria and the hotel's dinner--which had to be booked in advance. But it was excellent, especially considering the price. Couldn;t finish the mascarpone/pistachio torte, but the walk after dinner among the jasmine-scented streets was very pleasant, and helped quite a bit!
Roberto and Victoria went out of their way to make our stay special. It is a hard one to drive to so after walking up the hill Roberto drove down so we could follow him back up. The views and town are that special place in Tuscany that you only dream of. Roberto singing as he serves breakfast, talks in broken English, and offering tips on all things Italian are not something you can find just anywhere. Go, stay and discover for yourself. They are wonderful, happy, and sharing Italians!
The owner, Roberto, was very attentive to all our needs. He made our trip to Tuscany very special. Nothing to report.
Roberto and Vittoria are delightful. The location is a treat. Easy to walk to every corner of the old town. Met up with others staying in the hotel and enjoyed a fun evening with dinner and wine. Difficult to find, but worth the extra work.
very kind and attentive owners = staff a little dark
The location was great. The owners certainly make you feel special and give individual attention. The rooms were filled with antiques. Lovely terrace for breakfast. Parking within the city was a real bonus. Hotel has easy access to main street, as well as to cente square. Some of the furniture is a bit dated with wild colors that didn't flow with the rest of the antique furniture.
Our host. Roberto was such a wonderful person. We didn't know what to expect after driving through the narrow streets of the town up to almost the top, but when he opened the door and greeted us, we felt comfortable and welcomed. He was gregarious and funny. We laughed and laughed. Even the next morning for breakfast, he continued to enterain everyone with his wonderful personallity. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be going back. There was nothing we didn't enjoy.
Spacious accommodations; comfortable bed; good location; interesting building; friendly staff
Our host Roberto was a delight, so helpful and such fun. The bed was the most comfortable I slept in on the holiday. Exceptionally clean. It was easy to follow the many signs to get to the hotel - we still got lost because we didn't see them soon enough.
The hotel is in the heart of Montepulciano and offers guest parking, despite the fact that the historic center is off limits for non-authorized traffic. The breakfast is served in the garden and is quite good, even if the staff is somewhat intrusive. The rooms are part of the host's house and the experience is more like you are staying with a family than at a hotel. The host is a character who tries too hard to impress. The rooms are small, with low ceilings, no air conditioning, and somewhat overcrowded. The advertised "bath" and "shower" are non-existent - instead there is a tiny tub in which one has to bathe sitting down.
Good location, hospitable staff, wonderful croissants for breakfast The towels were linen-like...not terry cloth, not very absorbent & difficult to use. Couldn't access any internet tho we were told it was available.
Can the hotel have actual signs so it does not take 2 hours to locate it once you ar in Montepulciano. Also bathroom, specifically the shower needs to be updated.
This is a charming bed & breakfast that completely lives up to its description. Our room was very big and so was the bathroom. It had some very nice individual touches as well. We loved the view of Montepulciano, and we loved the peace and quiet after a busy day of sight-seeing.
Every morning, my husband received a very nice, home made gluten-free breakfast, that was very delicious.
If you understand the principles of environmental sustainment and friendliness you will be happy here. The comfort is excellent but the amenities are not what you may expect at a similarly priced hotel, which this is not. The owners and staff are wonderful and their commitment to ecological and organiv principles are exemplary. Plus, the farm to table breakfasts (and dinners on request) are excellent. Although you can walk, it is doubtful you will - especially at night after dinner. The city is quite a hike uphill. Parking is easy and close by, though and made it simple to get in and out. There is no air conditioning (for environmental reasons?) whicj would have been a huge problem for me if it was hot.
We stayed for one night at the end of May 2010. Really beautiful lodging, simple yet elegant, friendly people, a place with 'character'. Fantastic gardens, flowers and greenery surrounding all buldings, very nice views towards Montepulciano. The concept of natural and ecological living is conveyed in a charming way. The only people for whom this hotel would probably not be fit would be those valuing comforts in the room such as mini-fridge, television and telephone, as such facilities do not come with the package. Apart from this, the hotel is lovely and recommendable in every way.
We enjoyed using the pool every day we were there. We also took advantage of the outdoor fireplace to cook our dinners, and the fireplace in our living room to eat our dinner by.
Excellent location (3 km from historical town of Montepulciano), very nice Tuscan architecture (interior and exterior), swimming pool Near the road but not a big issue, bad gsm signal (maybe good points :-)
Location very good, staff excellent, very helpful even though they couldn't speak English.
good value close to Montepulciano and other areas of interest hard pillows
Quiet and nice location nearby Montepulciano.
Lovely setting!!! There was a fruit and vegetables basket set out for guests. We ate the most delicious white peach and yellow plums I have ever had! The pool was also lovely and cleaned each morning.
Loved the area. Nice little place. Would have liked to stay longer to enjoy the hotel. Close to Montpulciano and many other great Tuscany towns.
Comfortable, friendly, adorable farmhouse property, ideal for exploring the south of Tuscany. Our kid enjoyed also our stay there, quite a lot. Nothing. Everything is as expected and as it should be.
Very nice hotel staff, big rooms, good choice of local wine. Bathroom amenities were not provided.
The location was no more than a 5 min drive from Montepulciano in a quiet rural location. The accomodation was comfortable and spacious, the owners were courteous and helpful. The room was big and bright, the kitchen had all that was needed to sit in and cook with a nice garden to eat in if a quiet night in was all you wanted. It was also ideally located for a night out in Montepulciano as well. My only complaint would be that the shower head needed to be fixed and the pool could have been a little cleaner but I would have no qualms about coming back or recommending it.
