Pros: Everything was just so lovely. A lovely little get away for us both. A fantastic host.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: After reading the numerous excellent reviews, we booked to stay here for a long weekend away. Following a short drive down a narrow lane from Marton, we entered the grounds of the hall, making our way up the gravel driveway approaching the house. The exterior of the hall doesn't disappoint - a beautiful old building full of period charm, set in lush gardens, with a front drop of the rolling Shropshire countryside. We were welcomed by the owner, Annie, who was immediately warm and friendly and showed us to our room (Worthen). This was spacious and sumptuous, dominated by a wonderful four poster bed, period features, including wood panelling and fireplace and an unobstructed view of the rear gardens. The en-suite bathroom was equally spacious, with monsoon shower and toiletries provided. Annie left us to settle in and returned shortly after with a tray of tea and warm welsh cakes, which was a lovely touch. After a very relaxing and peaceful night's sleep, breakfast was a real treat. Offering a wide range of options from which to choose, the menu included full English, salmon and scrambled eggs and warm croissants, all prepared to the highest standard and served with free-flowing coffee and tea. This was a truly wonderful stay, in a beautiful location, made all the more enjoyable by the extremely attentive yet unobtrusive host. Rorrington Hall does more than meet expectations. It exceeds and completely surpasses them. We would have absolutely no hesitation in returning here.

Pros: Helpful staff, lovely big room with comfortable beds and huge bathroom, delicious breakfast with fresh fruit & warm croissants.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This Grade II listed building was lovely, the view form my room (8) was great. I thought the food for evening meal and breakfast was excellent. I could find fault from what I experienced and would certainly stay here again when in the area
6.3 Good
Pros: It is a lovely Gothic architecture country house set in parkland. Staff were helpful and food good for its standard. But............
Cons: Compared to the price we paid the standard was very low. Room was spacious but decor unappealing and no pictures on walls. Very poor mattress, not a good night’s sleep. Bathroom basic with very few toiletries provided. General areas need redecoration and furnishing. There are no leisure facilities or pool. Generally a lack of investment. Food was good but set at low standard. The accommodation price was very high for this standard. Even found brochures in hotel quoting a price £25 lower than we paid, pointed this out to staff who said price went up earlier this year.........why still have brochures on display quoting old price. Pointed all this out when leaving hotel to a member of staff, as no management available, thought the management might have followed this up with me but they didn’t. Would not recommend a stay here at current prices or standards. Disappointed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful stunning location, lovely comfortable room. Very friendly and accommodating staff.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: A wonderful place to stay. Away from any roads so nice and quiet. A stunning old stately home beautifully maintained in a period style. Our room was contemporary but retained a lot of old period features which was lovely. Very clean and tidy room. Staff were really friendly and very helpful. Food is really only 'pub type' food, but very nice. Try the spinach, pea and blue cheese risotto - it's out of this world! A good choice of food for breakfast.
Cons: No secure parking for motorbikes, but it wasn't a problem at all. Quite a few flies in the breakfast room, but they are trying to control/eradicate them.
5.5 Okay
Pros: the location
Cons: better room condition, decor, furnishings. broken glass in window, sleep interrupted by flys buzzing and pitching on us. the food served to us in the restaurant was inedible and sent back .

9.3 Excellent
Pros: This is a gem of a hotel, very quirky and in a great location if you like the countryside and rural life. The breakfast was exceptional with a great variety of choice and would satisfy most pallets. All staff were very attentive, friendly and warm who really added to the overall ambience of the hotel making you eager to visit again sometime.
Cons: The single room I occupied was comfy but the storage space would have been a bit cramped if I was staying longer than a couple of nights. Had there been two people in the room, as it had a double bed, it would have been very demanding. This also applies to the shower which was very 'snug'. Although I enjoyed the restaurant food I felt the selection for non vegan food was limited and could have done with more variety - these are just personal opinions that I feel could be useful to other guests.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was very good and the decor and furniture was of a very good quality. The bedroom was spacious and the bed linen was very very clean and comfortable.
Cons: We were very pleased with the service and quality of most areas of the hotel
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent service and friendly staff, no problems with parking and a fascinating building with character. Good choice of beers in the bar and nice choice of bar meals.
Cons: Single room very small, only really suitable for a short (overnight) stay, and the kitchen extraction system right outside the window meant that it was difficult to relax in the room during the afternoon, with the window open, on a warm day. It was shut off during the night however restarted by 7 in the morning.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice warm, clean rooms. Good pub lounge. Food was good too.
Cons: My room was above the kitchen and generator was going till quite late. Food in the restaurant took a long time to arrive.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Food very good Room very clean and comfortable
Cons: Breakfast was fried so not my choice but other items available were very good
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Characterful former coaching Inn. Lovely location
6.8 Good
Pros: The hotel is in the centre of a lovely old town with lots of historical interest. It is a very quiet location great for relaxing. The hotel has bags of character. All the staff were helful and friendly.
Cons: Our room had a bath but no shower. The breadfast was beautifully cooked but the portions were tiny.
7.5 Good
Pros: Nice old-fashioned hotel which is run by local families. All of the staff were very pleasant and the breakfast was beautifully prepared. The attic twin room was quirky and different. It was nice to be able to reserve the pool.
Cons: Beds were not very comfortable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A great hotel! Right in the centre of Montgomery with a bus stop virtually outside. Rooms were lovely with a modern clean bathroom. Tea, coffee, water and biscuits provided in the room. The staff were lovely - all very friendly and helpful.
Cons: For me - food portions were too large!! (Not sure everyone would find that a problem!) Check in was a bit slow but understandable as the hotel was very busy at the time.
7.5 Good
Pros: Warm welcome. The bedroom, exposed beams on either side of bed. Comfortable bed., creaky floor boards.Had evening meal there, plenty of choices , reasonable prices, good service.
Cons: It's an old quirky hotel ,it's gradually being restored, up to now hasn't lost any of its charm. Only problem I could see with our room was that it overlooked outdoor sitting area, which could be noisy on long summer evenings, but If the noise ended just after 11pm shouldn't be too much of a problem. It is a pub after all ! ,
