Krishna Palace Hotel

Would not recommend this hotel to international travelers. Requested non-smoking room & was given smoking room. Took over an hour & several calls to get new non-smoking room. Reception desk staff seemed bothered by our requests for directions on how to get to various sites with-in Mumbai.My husband & I wanted to have a glass of wine with dinner at the hotel restaurant and we were told by the man at the reception desk the hotel did not serve alcohol on Sundays and that we should take a taxi to a mall restaurant 15-20 minutes away. We later asked a more helpful and polite woman behind the reception desk about dinner options & she informed us the hotel restaurant did serve wine with dinner. Charged for internet that did not work.We were told internet only is available in our hotel room, not in public spaces but after we were charged we were unable to get on the internet in hotel room either. Heard other guests complaining about inability to use internet as well. The outside bell staff wanted to secure taxi service for us to our various sites during our stay and it was immediately evident the bellmen must get some sort of kick-back from the taxi driver as the fares were inflated.We walked less than a quarter of a block to the end of the street and secured our own taxi(s) for significantly less money. My family and I had been in India for two months before staying at this hotel in Mumbai and it was by far the poorest service we experienced and it is over-rated in terms of the hotel star rating. Only redeeming quality is the restaurant and restaurant service/staff.

Pros: Not much to like. The hotel and room is way over-rated according to it's hotel star rating. However, the buffet breakfast included in the price was very good and the restaurant staff & service was far better than that of the hotel reception desk.

Cons: Yes- the service provided by the lead man who staffed the reception desk was sub-standard and quite rude. I felt his behavior was impolite and unfriendly. Street noise kept us awake at night, Internet didn't work & there is hourly charge for using it.
