Pros: I like the room it was so big and clean. I like that they have the mountain view. The one managing the place is very helpful and polite. It creates a very homey experience.
Cons: I like the bed and all.. just that the pillows are a bit tough. I would have love if they have a soft pillow instead.

Pros: The warmth of the owners, the huge rooms with the large Jacuzzi tub (though the Jacuzzi function wasn't working), the fact that the room had heating, the yummy breakfast spread. Also loved the décor of the place - European inspirations and the place felt like a chateau :)

Pros: Foot Print Inn is a surprise for us once we step into the hotel. It is extremely clean, well organized, spacious facility. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. The owner "A Mo" runs this business with a purpose and traveler should support his efforts. The breakfast is 5* rated in our opinion. We will definitely go back if we are in the same vicinity.

The location is great, just one street away from the busy market streets with plenty of food and souvenir shopping available. Close by is also the butterfly garden and rope-way gondola.

Pros: The owners are a husband and wife team, and they were very warm and friendly, and we had a nice time chatting with them. The husband saw I was down with a cold and made sure I had hot ginger tea and made warm red bean soup for me, plus drove us out to a nearby noodle place for cheap and good food. You won't get this personalised touch at a conventional hotel.

Pros: Host was incredibly helpful. They provided coffee and a snack on arrival, and also dropped us off at the train station the following day.

Pros: Very friendly staff, good location which was a short walk to the main area at Sun Moon Lake with good food options, very suitable for young families as my child was totally enjoying the things set up in the theme rooms.

Pros: About a 10 min walk from the bus station, and really easy to find. Really helpful and kind owners. Place was really nicely/uniquely decorated and very clean, with a full kitchen. It had a cool international/backpacker type vibe, which I hadn't really experienced at too many places in Taiwan. Big bathroom (even had a line for hanging clothes!). It was really quiet at night, even though it was a weekend.

Pros: We were greeted by the host that was very friendly but didn't know english. However, we manage to communicate with her friend over the phone and ask all that we wanted to know. The room was clean and spacious with complementary tea & water, and the beds were big and comfy. Perfect for a rest after a long and active day.

Pros: My two daughters and I attended the free yoga class at 7:30 pm for one hour. It was about the practicing nine movements for relaxation. We loved it so much. Also the next day morning breakfast, it was another way to relax your mind before your day started The smelling from the burning incense woke up your senses before you ate. Sipped the herbal, rosy and honey tea, separated your world and the outside troubled world. Just relaxed, slept in this hostel was one of our wise choices. Ivy

Pros: Unlike most guesthouses in Taiwan, Look is a luxury property, from the building structure to the grounds to all amenities. Modern design but very comfortable. Attentive staff with great communications. Excellent breakfast. Only 4-5 minutes drive (over the hills) to the lake.

Good water heating. Good location. Within walking distance to the bus stop or the boat area, about 5-7 minutes walk.
Cons: SML is overall a quiet area with minimal night life. Spend one night is more than enough at SML.

Pros: The room was bigger than the usual hotel room and beautifully furnished with European styled cupboards and decor. It was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The Japanese toilet bowl was a delight to use. There was also a small Hong Kong Dim Sum restaurant just around the corner from the establishment. The food was scrumptious. There are not many food outlets around the hotel and they close early at about 9 pm. The hotel is very close to the jetty and the view of the lake is magnificent.
Cons: Perhaps there could be more cable tv channels in English. Breakfast could include a wider variety of food to choose from and the opening hours extended.

Pros: The owner was very helpful in providing us with tips on what to do. The rooms are exceptionally beautiful and the breakfast was the best we’ve had in Taiwan.
Cons: Some people might think the location could be better since it’s not the main region around the lake. It has plenty of shops and restaurants but the ‘main’ part is on the other side of the lake. However, we prefer the more quiet area ourselves.

Pros: Upgraded 3 out of our 5 rooms booked, thank you! Breakfast was a mix of Chinese style porridge with pickles, veg, fried eggs, pork floss as well as toast with jam n choc spread, complete with tea, coffee, soy milk. Yummy!
Cons: For the house with 2 rooms, common bathroom basin was leaking from the back when the tap was turned on. We checked in late and stayed for only one night so did not bother to bring up the issue with the owner.

Pros: location of the hotel close to lake, very quite at night good for traveler who love the nature but not good for night life traveler. The hotel not at downtown of Sun moon lake, you have to take a 15-20 min. by bus or boat.

Pros: The location was very good, about 2 mins walk from Ita Thao Pier. Right at the door step is the night market with many foods and stores around. Staffs are friendly and helpful. Good buffet breakfast at 8th floor with beautiful Sun Moon Lake view. We want to extend our stay but they have no more room so we book Ting Shao hotel nearby which is also very good.
Cons: Nothing. Everything is lovely. However if you want to do Cycling at one of the best Cycling route, you should stay one night at Shuishe Pier because most of the boat ride ( this is the main transport here) end 5 -5:30pm. So if you stay at Ita Thao Pier and cycle at Shuishe Pier, you have to finish your cycling by 5pm to return to Ita Thao.
