When I arrived, the employee working at the front desk was very helpful and kind. I felt comfortable and enjoyed my stay.
It's proximity to the subway and the complimentary continental breakfast.
convenience for the city transport system
The modest breakfast offered in the lobby area as part of our room charge was convenient and allowed us to start our day quickly. The hotel's close proximity to Boston College was very helpful for anyone visiting the school. This is a hotel to use for one or two nights for practical reasons. It was a little difficult to locate, and just satisfied our minimum requirements for comfort, but we were happy to have the extra pocket money.
Location, free auto parking, generous complimentary breakfasts, very helpful staff at front desk no
The front desk guy was really nice and accommodative. a stronger internet connection would have been good, and the continental breakfast should have been served until 11:00 am.
The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. Also enjoyed the complimentary breakfast (plenty of food and variety).
The staff was especially helpful regarding tourist attractions, transportation, and restaurants. Computer w/Internet access in lobby complimentary for guests.
I liked that it was convenient and had availability. The price was ok, compared to what other hotels were going for around the area. i felt like it could have been cleaner. The room felt very damp, as if there had been no air but the air conditioning circulating the room. There were spiders every where - In the curtains, on the wall when I woke up, in the bathroom smashed on the wall. I couldn't wait to check out. The bed was terrible. It flt like it was very old mattress, extra soft and springy.
Great location for visiting BU campus and proximity to the T line. Really appreciate the full breakfast and free internet. Near Whole Foods Grocery store for stocking up on supplies for the fridge or microwave use. The heating unit was noisy and difficult to control the temperature comfortably.
The great bedroom: big, good looking and with a confortable king-sized bed. The staff were very nice and always trying to help. A good breakfast, a nice neighbourhood... I really liked this hotel! No.
The Breakfast was excellent! The heater did not work. The room reached until 59 degrees, we notify front desk their answer was "in summer (September) they does not turn it on.
It had a good location - it was 2 minutes away from the subway. It had no real sidewalk/walkway leading to the hotel. This makes it difficult for commuters (via subway) to reach the hotel on foot, especially when they have luggage.
The staff was really nice and allowed us to store our luggage with them at 8am so that we could go to the city and tour before checking in. I loved the fact that it was right next to the T line! Braintree is a bit far from downtown, but if you're on a budget...eh? Clean room, great cable, and nice staff. Good for its price!
the renovated rooms are clean and modern I wish there was a coffee machine in the rooms.
The price is good. Although we arrive very late we can find some personnel in front desk. It's very close to the big markets and 5 miles to Niagara. Their breakfast is not good. No tea.
Near the town Frigidaire and microwave missing
Check out lady. She gave us a refund of the half room price without discussions, cause of the trouble see below. The guy at check in was unfriendly. The room was dirty: long hairs in the bathtub, water standing in the sink and didn´t go away, the batheroom door was broken.
Rooms were dirty, bedding was very old looking and looked like it was never washed! It is more of a truck stop. I will not be staying in this motel ever again! Staff is cold and have no customer service skills
Absolutely nothing. Our room was the opposite of that what you may call a clean room. Let aside the hole that had been burnt into the blanket and the carpet by cigarettes (by the way: we booked a non-smoking room one week before our arrival). The blankets did not look that clean as they should be (we asked for new ones which once had been white and turn into yellow over the years) and last but not least we found the remains of vomit on one of our beds beds and on the door of the bathroom. The air in the room had the smell of a mixture of this distinguished ingredients (vomit plus cigarettes) that made it impossible to sleep. This place cannot be recommended, not at all.
The good: Location Nice desk staff The bad: Bed (hard as a rock) Shower (ours wasn't working properly) Bathroom overall (the sink was falling apart) Room overall (decor was of extremely poor quality) Noise
Good value and access to trains (though across an unmarked-for-pedestrian walkway)!
For business trip in economy style this motel is more than enough. I have no reasons to complain. Decent restaurant on premises and highway to Cap Cod and Boston are bid advantages. I will stay there next time definitely. Paid Wi-Fi with login every day. Didn't they consider to charge also for water and air separately? Cheap pennypitching... And garbage recycling, it's time for it.
We had a clean and quiet back room. Close to the T subway - 30 minutes from the centre of Boston. You can see the motel as you arrive in Braintree Station. Well located for travellers on foot like us. The blankets were old and needed replacement, certainly not up to the excellent standard of the sheets and quilt cover
It was a nice clean well located motel, nothing fancy but comfortable.
Very comfortable bed I had to park way back in the woods behind the filling station next door. It was late at night and I was alone. -- Don't know what you could do about it though.
it is close to the main roads the bathroom
I have stayed at other Motel 6 and they were always good but I was suprised at how clean and freshly painted this one was.
Good, clean room for little money. Compared to the double price best western we've been the night before, this hotel nearly offered the same quality Staff was strange
All we needed was a bed and a shower. I love an inexpensive, clean hotel.
Beds, staff Air conditioner was very old and the smell at the room was bad
Sincerely i was suprised when i get there because before i made my reservation i was reading some comments that some other pervers left about Monticello, however i took my chance and still do my reservation and i dont regret the fact that i went there because i loved it.I can't wait to go spend sometimes over there again.
dont go there! bio hazard not clean! dont go there! bio hazard not clean!
Was extremely well priced compared to closer to Boston We asked for an additional bed and were told no, so two of us had to share a double bed.
the location, good space, car parking outside the front door, the toilet facilities were poor, and same with the so called kitchen, that did not work. This was good and working maybe 20 years ago!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The location was good. The refrigerator and microwave were working well. The room reeked very strongly of smoke although I requested non-smoking. The advertised free wifi was non-existent. The TV was old and didn't work very much.
Staff was quick and courteous and knew what they were doing. The room, while clean, did have an odor.
None! Monticello 'Motel' was on signboard. Misleading. Curtains appeared threadbare and were improperly hung. Building in poor shape, dirty, unkempt.Lobby stunk.Air conditioner had rust stains.
The beds were comfortable. Yes the pipes for the showers and toilets clanged all night long. Also they didn't clean exceptionally well because their was a t shirt from the last guest in their.
The bed was comfortable The carpet stinks
Filthiness of rooms
The front desk staff was very friendly. Honestly, this place was disappointing. I had to open the windows to air out the overwhelming perfume smell in my room. It was so strong, I couldn't stop coughing. Then, I couldn't lock the windows back up when I needed to close them. There was garbage all over the parking lot too. Definitely not worth $100/night.
hotel was basic clean no noise nice clientele ice cream parlor right next door convenience 2 mins away bedspreads
Nothing Rooms were disgusting, they don't move furniture when vacuuming the floor.
Convenient budget motel near Boston, quick drive to Cambridge via Route 2. Includes pastry and coffee or tea. We got on our way quickly and easily.
The price was so low that I was expecting to be cheated, but the reviews were excellent, so I tried it. We were 2 and we both found this motel wonderful, it's really quiet, in a nice location, well-kept, the rooms are very clean and the staff is extremely nice. It was a great value for the money we spent, and we would surely stay here again. It's a little bit far from Boston, but with a car it is 10 minutes drive and there is a 7$ parking for the whole day!
Nice area. Right next to a great ice cream shop. The room had a weird smell. The closet had a piece of ceiling missing exposing it to the attic. Could not use wi-fi or cell phone in the room.
Friendly treatment by the recepcionist. Excellent price for short stays.
Convenient location. Toilet backed up. Managment provided plunger.
the room was clean but the smell was ugly poor detergernts. enoungh for one night only.
I liked the facilities in my room I did not like the bathroom shower and the door which could not be locked
Comfortable and clean, but recommended only for short stays, since there's nothing in the area. This motel is very basic. There's no breakfast and there are very few places around for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The city has no social life at all, so you have to take the car to go to Cambridge or Boston, which are far than expected (40-50 min). Personnel not very helpful.
good location at a reasonable price; 20 minutes by car from alewife T station, cambridge, for convenient traveling into Boston outdated room accommodations
