10.0 Excellent
Pros: It all started with a lovely welcome, nothing was too much trouble from any of the staff. The home made food was top class. This place is an absolute gem of a find and is ideal for visiting Santiago, the local coast or even having a relaxing 'get away from it all' break.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is an amazing property. Edu and Ana love what they do and it is evident everywhere- from the beautiful gardens with kiwi and grape vines, flowers and trees to the unbelievable homemade meals. Our rooms were great - quiet and comfortable. We had the best sleep of our vacation there. If you are walking The Camino, have no fear in booking - they will pick you up along the way - Negreira and Ponte Nova were at least two options.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: One of my hands down favourite places to stay across the whole Camino Frances. Make the call to have them pick you up! They have taken such care of the grounds and the hotel. Spotless. The pool was fabulously refreshing. Sweet pets. Good food. Anna and Irene were warm and welcoming. Highly, highly recommend.
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice design, good cuisine, dog friendly, hospitable owners
10.0 Excellent
Pros: 5 star service as I've never experienced before. The managers couldn't do enough for us from picking us up from the Camino and dropping us off the following morning. They were so friendly and passionate about the house. They arranged for our bags to be delivered on. Breakfast was fantastic with loads of choice and catering for gluten free. I especially loved sitting in the garden with blankets provided for comfort.
Cons: Absolutely nothing!!!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: It was secluded a few miles from the nearest town. We were picked up and dropped off next morning with no charge. It is a newly renovated old property with a good feeling and history. The grounds were very nice and relaxing & the 3 hosts were very helpful. Breakfast was great
Cons: Would need to improve Dinner
10.0 Excellent

Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly People. Perfect Service. Wonderful retreat for relaxing!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Jesus picked us up and warmly welcomed us into his family home. The room was large and very comfortable. We spent the afternoon in the lovely garden, enjoying the complementary drinks and reading our books. The location is 1 1/2 k out of Negreira but Jesus will either pick up dinner from an Italian restaurant for you or drive you in and out if you wish to eat out. The best part was how absolutely quiet the house is. We didn’t hear the guests in the next room at all and there was no noise from outside. So peaceful! Breakfast was beautifully presented and more food than we ever normally eat.
Cons: There was nothing we didn’t like. We would recommend that you have dinner in town and take a few minutes to explore the historic walled village with the ancient wall, churches, etc.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful local house with all the facilities anyone would need
Cons: Everything was perfect Slightly out of town but excellent easy pick up or drop off for us Camino Waller’s
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The owner, Jesus, couldn't have been more hospitable. He is fluent in English and very friendly. The casa is a little out of town just off a busy road and after walking the Camino, a walk you would unlikely undertake to get to it, but Jesus not only picked us up and brought us back into town the next morning, but he also dropped us in to town in the evening for dinner and picked us up after.. NO charge for any of these pick-ups. His fridge is stocked with water, minerals and beers which you can help yourself to, and again NO charge. Jesus also offered us coffee on arrival. Our bedroom was a big room and tastefully done up. There is a lovely garden with deck chairs etc, to relax in The breakfast was lovely in an old 'drawing room' and served by Jesus's mother who is very friendly, ( without being able to speak any English !) A treat on the Camino
Cons: Far out from town, so you have to rely on Jesus to drop you into town for dinner.,, but that doesn't seem to be a problem
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The house is beautifully and tastefully restored. The host was charming and very helpful. We had possibly the best breakfast ever on the Camino.
Cons: There are no negatives. The house is a little way out of town but the host will collect you or drop you in to town if you wish.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great host!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Jesus was the perfect host. His mum prepared a fabulous breakfast. Everything was perfect.
Cons: Absolutely nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Jesus and his lovely parents offer not only an absolutely beautiful home, but an incredible experience as well. We had a twin room with private bathroom. It was beyond expectations in every way and by far the nicest place (hotels included) that we stayed in for our entire Camino de Santiago. It was perfection: clean, beautiful, comfortable, spacious, and somehow transported us back in time-while still being modern and up to date. The bathroom was a dream. Jesus’ mother is a seamstress and made the bedding covers and curtains throughout the home-and her fine attention to detail was not overlooked. We sat on the back porch and read while the rain came down-stunning. And the breakfast spread we were served the next morning far exceeds anything we’ve received so far in Spain-especially considering it was included in the price! The hospitality of this family just warms my heart and makes me so very thankful, grateful, and blessed to have met them. They are a bit outside of town-but trust me.. it is worth every single extra step (and if it isn’t to you-they offer to pick you up in town so you don’t have to walk ;) )
Cons: I sincerely have not one single complaint or recommendation. The epitome of perfection and hospitality.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The house is beautiful in a beautiful area, outside space a big bonus with the complimentary drinks. The owner picked us up from town, took us to restaurant in evening and picked us up again 5* service. The breakfast would off put any 5* hotel to shame it was very very good. Will be returning. A Casa Vella Da Rivera - Calle - Building

10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was very comfortable, very peaceful. Very nice host very, very helpful good breakfast. Location bus into Santiago easy. Would definitely stay here again and would highly recommended.
Cons: Nothing everything was very good
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Rural stay in the middle of a nice village very close to santiago de compostela. This location offers the possibility for you to make el camino trip (Portuguese el camino route) from the house (starting on the national road) to santiago de compostela (16 km). The road is very beautiful and makes sense of what is santiago de compostela all about: pilgrims and people who interact on their way. The location is very good for relaxing as it is super quiet in the night. From santiago you can take the bus arriva from the main station called estacion de santiago (you need to google it). The house is pretty nice and cosy and we loved it! We thank the host for waiting for us to arrive later than the check in hours!
Cons: The pillows with memory foam are too hard for people who are not used to them so would be ok to offer normal pillows to people as well. Breakfast needs improvement as it offers a very low variety of foods. Some veggies like tomatoes and some cheese should be included.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic for a short stay. A rural house in an Aldea, wooden and stone masonry, two leveled structure. Nice double room with big built-in wardrobes, a very comfortable hard double bed, flat screen tv and a big bathroom with shower, bidet-less and plenty towels and a hair dryer. Reception closes at 21:30 pm but Angeles, the friendly owner waits for your arrival at any time if previously arranged. Extremely quiet and noise free environment. With 6 parking spaces just outside the entrance door. Breakfast is served from 8:30 am till 11:00 am. Fruit, yogourth, bread, bakery, coffee, different herbal teas, cereal and something savoury that she changes daily, like little toast spead with cheese and topped with little pieces of smoked salmon or fresh tomato or salami. It's exactly 13km away from Santiago de Compostela and I choose it because we were doing our own version of the Camino de Santiago, walking from the Casa Vella da Rivera to Santiago and back, but ended up walking 36km because if you follow the way of the pilgrims, following the shells, the house is 18km away!
Cons: The location was a bit confusing to find, having going round and round the Aldea, at the end Angeles had to come out from the house to look for us! Also, there are no restaurants or shops, around it, you need to take your car, drive like a 1,5 km to the nearest junction, on the national road, to find two restaurants and two clubs, girl clubs, I mean.

Pros: When we arrived we had a basket of fruit waiting for us. It made my day.
Cons: The waitress in the restaurant was not so nice to us because we changed our mind on what to order. Little patience, and not because the restaurant was full...

9.5 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were wonderful, decor modern and tasteful. Having a great restaurant on site, a definite plus.
Cons: It was slightly noisy, but not enough to complain about!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Soo cozy, clean, spacious room, great food, and everybody makes you feel home and pampered... Jose Manuel is the best host ever, the recepcionists. Modern, clean rooms, comfortable bed in a "Villa".
Cons: If you want the caos of the center of Santiago, then you may not like the tranquility... Personally I can't wait to go back, I felt home and at the same time disconnected... Loved it
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Plenty of decent affordable food and drink. Decent swimming pool and garden.
Cons: There was no air con. Yet there was a room fan which was adequate.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very nice hotel, in an authentic building. A beautiful courtyard inside. Dinner at restaurant is a must! Ladies at reception and restaurant are very friendly.
Cons: Breakfast quite simple, but that is fine for such price for the room. No elevator , if it’s important for someone.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great service, really friendly and helpful staff. Lovely, peaceful location which is worth the very slight detour from the camino.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff and front desk lady sorry can't remember her name was the best! Also the waiter/server who came to help on a Sunday. She even opened up the restaurant to cook us all dinner. Property exceeded our expectations after a day on the Camino. Beautiful rooms.
Cons: The only thing that is hard is going off the Camino slightly but you can cut accross so you really don't add much or maybe anything.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and functional hotel. I suspect that the restaurant offers extremely good quality, if more expensive, fare - however, we didn't get an opportunity to fully enjoy. Excellent bathroom!
Cons: Breakfast was OK without being memorable.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The food and service were top notch; in fact, superb!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful rural setting. Modern hotel room. Food, wines & service at the restaurant were excellent. Breakfast very good. We were the only guests at the hotel so we had a waiter & chef to ourselves. This is an upmarket establishment which we have found rarely walking the Camino.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It’s off the road and out of the way - if you’re on the Camino it’s a short taxi ride away.... totally worth it, delightful staff, delicious food, I felt very well looked after
9.5 Excellent
Pros: . Restaurant fantastic. Very clean rooms and accommodation. Lovely ambiance.
Cons: Double bed was small for large people...could go up one size. Would have liked coffee available early morning before breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Santiago Bidea was well worth walking the additional 2 miles off the Camino. Oihana is an wonderful host, very professional and welcoming. This rustic pension is outstanding! Though we were the only guests and the restaurant was closed that night, Oihana and Julen made us an exceptional, contemporary Basque dinner. She returned in the morning to prepare a delicious breakfast. Santiago Bidea should not be missed.
Cons: What's not to like?
7.0 Good
Pros: Nice Accommodation and clean
Cons: Restaurant food and breakfast
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were exceptionally good value. The dinner was excellent and the owners were always helpful. Its slight distance from the Camino route in one way makes it something of a hidden gem.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice location....not too many options on Camino in this area.
Cons: Lots of people sharing the “shared” bathroom. More like communal bathroom. No toilet paper this morning and no one available to get refill.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Directly on the Camino, nice new facility in a beautiful setting. The shared dinner was good and fun. The staff was friendly and informative. There seems to be a German vibe here. The staff spoke German as the preferred second language, and the other guests were all German-speaking. Rooms were nice, there is a common laundry facility.
Cons: The rooms are actually in a separate facility further down the road by about 200m. This isn't really a problem except at the end of a 30Km with a strenuous hill, it's a disappointment.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The pilgrims menu they cook in the evening is really good. All dishes are home made amd the two lovely old ladys make sure that the pilgrims dont run out of wine.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Albergue have refurbished a lovely house next door. We stayed there in a private room with bathroom. It was open only 3 weeks and is very nicely decorated and comfortable - very fresh and clean. Also has a lovely view. Manuel at Reception is super helpful. He called an Albergue for our following night on the Camino to Finisterre as we don’t have much Spanish. We had the Pelegrino dinner which was delicious (starter, main course, desert plus bread, bottled water and wine - all for only €9!) and loads of it plus they kept bringing more! We also had a good breakfast before heading out on the Camino - and the good thing is they serve it from 7am. Also perfectly located on the Camino to Finisterre if you’re doing it in 30km chunks.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The area was so beautiful, perfect place for a nice quiet stay, very clean and the staff are lovely, everything you need in one place.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very clean accommodation, delicious orange cake, good coffee.
7.5 Good
Pros: It's fine. A little spartan but the owners were warm and welcoming.
Cons: The albergue is separate to the bar and restaurant. Not sure it's wise having one shower for everyone.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Super friendly atmosfere! Amazing dinner (9€/person) with all pilgrims, food was great!
Cons: No shop nearby
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Friendly ‘family’ atmosphere Communal meal was excellent Breakfast simple but very sufficient for cost and needs
Cons: One of the bathroom/shower facilities was out of order all night and into he morning. This created some difficulties for Pilgrims wanting to leave in an orderly and punctual manner
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I loved the location. Gorgeous and rural. The pilgrim menu communal dinner was lovely. Delicious and the perfect chance to connect with others. The on-site restaurant and bar were great for a beer or breakfast in the morning as well. I would definitely go back!
Cons: There aren't enough bathrooms and showers for all the pilgrims. Three in total for a full house of hikers is a bit inconvenient.

Cons: All good
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Julian and rose are very kind and cosy
7.5 Good
Pros: Very amiable hosts, Rosa and Julian. Rosa prepared a wonderful and tasty 3 course meal for dinner. Loved the home cooking.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely welcome, lovely garden, a good spot on the Camino where there isn’t much other accommodation. The dinner was nice. I’ve had better value (ie more food/choice/wine) but we got free aperitifs and some good company! They’ve made the rooms atmospheric and the hallway had pretty tea lights in overnight. Cute.
Cons: The room was cold and we didn’t have an extra blanket. We didn’t ask for one, to be honest, as it was late. It’s a bit off the Camino but not too much- 300km a bit uphill.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Welcoming
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely and obliging host; great dinner, very comfortable bed.
Cons: The bathroom although private was outside the room; the casa is 600m off the Camino; unable to leave before 7 am

Pros: Hotel nicely located near the Camino. Good Pilgrim menu in the evening. A secure place to park the bicycle.
Cons: The shower was a little old and could use some repair.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff. Clean and confortable room. Breakfast buffet was plenty and open early morning. Good stay when on the camino to Fisterra.
Cons: WiFi wasn't working the day I was there.
8.8 Excellent
Cons: My room door looked like it had been bashed in and the room really needed to be painted but otherwise is was ok.
6.8 Good
Pros: Lady at the desk kindly found an electric fan for us as the room was very hot.
Cons: The property is rather run down. Food in the restaurant was nothing special.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Anna was very welcoming and restaurant made quality meals for the money.
Cons: I didn’t appreciate the noise from the bar late into the evening.
4.5 Okay
Cons: there is a noisy bar bellow the Hotel. Closes at 23:00. A unbearable and incredible high buzzzzzzzz begun at 20:00. I made a complain and the bad humored receptionist said that the noise buzz was the exhaust fan of the restaurant, and the noise "Will stop only at 23:00 when the kitchen closes"... It was so horrible noise that it was impossible to read, watch TV, YouTube, etc. But as promissed, the fan was turned off at 23:00....
8.3 Excellent
Pros: A comfortable room that is very clean and spacious.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: The lady at reception was very kind and helpful. The restaurant food was ok.
Cons: This was basically the only hotel option left in Negreira when we booked, but figured it couldn’t be too bad. We were wrong, it was disgusting.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The room was spacious, we had 4 single beds, 2 bedrooms. The decor was very 70’s but fine. Buffet breakfast was included in the price, it was very good - boiled eggs, fruit, yoghurt etc
4.5 Okay
Pros: The receptionist was nice.
Cons: Very poor hotel. Opposite a petrol station with a car wash then went for hours. The outdoor seating was in a large car park. The noise was deafing as were the orders coming into the room. The decor was old and needed redoing. The water pipes made noise. Avoid at all cost. Worst hotel I ever stayed at. Not worth what we paid. The waitress at breakfast was rude and nearly attacked me for taking a roll to take with me and demanded I pay for it.
