Pros. Amazing beach, great free breakfast, staff was amazing. Our room had a fridge/stove/microwave (many don't) and that was great. Big room, comfy bed, giant shower.
Cons. To get the (excellent) free breakfast and beach towels/lounge chairs, you have to wear an armband your whole stay - which makes you stand out as a tourist if you like venturing to town or off the beaten path. I felt like this made us a bigger target for locals who want to hassle you/sell you something/ask for money. So there's certainly a big trade off there.
Pros. Treehouse resort has it all! I would surely stay there again. We enjoyed delicious breakfasts full of options/ jamaican dishes, a very comfortable (albeit small) well-equipped room- and to my delight- an outdoor rope chair for each room. The bed was quite cozy and the room A/C as frigid as you'd want to make it! I thought I would be disappointed with a "garden view" room opposed to ocean view- but the garden and grounds are so lovely and well kept, it was like being in the jungle right next to the beach! I especially loved waking up to groomed sand and well-kept beach loungers that are set out each morning. The staff were friendly and not overbearing, however it is diffucult sometimes to know who actually works there vs. who "says" they work there...
Cons. I am not a well seasoned international traveler, with this being my first trip out of the US. Admittedly, it took me many days to acclimate to the Jamaican way of "sales". I am used to approaching someone/a business for a service when I'm interested in it, but here, as with all other places I visited in Negril, the service providers chronically approached me and I needed to interact and politely decline, each day. This went for taxi, massage services, the restaurant, the gift shop, etc.
Pros. Tree House is a lovely place on the most beautiful beach in Jamaica. The staff is welcoming and kind, without being pandering. The rooms clean and adequate. I loved the fact that the place is not all-inclusive. There are taxis always available and we had fantastic meals in Negril. Also, this is the best value on the island.
Pros. tHIS IS OUR FOURTH STAY AND IT ONLY GETS BETTER. yOGA ON A PADDLEBOARD. jAMAICANS ARE THE BEST AND THE BEST WAY TO ENJOY jAMAICA IS STAYING AT THE tREEHOUSE. Very relaxing.
