10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed here in the past when it was a B and B. Now it is a small hotel. The building is a beautiful heritage home located one block from Nelson’s Main Street. You can simply park your car and walk to most places within Nelson. The Cloudside Hotel is exceptionally clean and well maintained. Staff are friendly and helpful. We stayed in the Sycamore Room on the main floor. It is very spacious and comfortable and offers it’s own private entrance. Prices at the Cloudside are more reasonable than other hotels that are not as well located. I highly recommend staying at the Cloudside. It is the only place we consider when in Nelson.
Cons: Like everything. Nothing negative to say.

Pros: Staff very friendly and helpful. Room clean. Pet friendly as requested. Close to Friday street market. Restaurant in same building very good.
Cons: Room exceedingly small. Shower complex and required instruction manual. Never did figure it out. No nearby grassy area to walk dog. Didn’t feel too safe at night though that might have been just nerves. Loud motorcycles revving below window in wee hours.

Pros: Communal lounge with kettle, microwave, library, games and good seating. Roof top seating and hot tub. Location was excellent. Small room but comfortable.

7.5 Good
Pros: The room is clean and has very good lighting. The shower was great, once we figured out how to use all the fancy features. It is at the far end of Baker Street so, walking to everything is easy and enjoyable. Also, a dog friendly property which is always nice.
Cons: Rooms are very small. There was no fridge in the room or an ice machine on site. The night club below kept us up at night as it was very loud and the base shook our room.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The shower was insane and very cool. It had all sorts of options for types of showers- side nozzles, a rain shower, even a foot wash. Very relaxing after hiking around. Great location as well. The owner was very kind and welcoming!

7.0 Good
Pros: The option of getting a $10.00 restaurant discount if you opted not to use housekeeping services to inspire green initiatives.
Cons: Lack of security for hotel entrances - nothing was locked; rooms seemed out dated and over-priced for the quality of amenities in the room; a proper mini-refrigerator would at least have been better than a wine frige rates for the room do not reflect the proximity of the industrial area it borders onto; breakfast was okay but all stodge.
7.1 Good
Pros: Spacious room overlooking the water. Restaurant had good food offerings. Nice to be able to go for a walk along the waterside pathway.
Cons: Sound system and acoustics in the meeting room were very bad, making it hard to hear our presenters.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The property is well located on the lake, we had a beautiful lakeside room, the staff was great and the restaurant is very good.
6.3 Good
Pros: It was clean. It exceeded my expectations for a chain hotel. The view of the lake was the only reason we booked the room and was great. The restaurant on site is fantastic with very friendly staff and great food.
Cons: Staff were rude at checkin. Patio furniture is horribly uncomfortable. Room is nothing special and is dark. Smelled like stale cigarette smoke like someone smoked right outside the door or was a heavy smoker and their person made the room smell. I’m not saying they smoked in the room just that the precious people must have been saturated in it. There was a cigarette butt right outside the door under the eaves trough. It was noisy because we were right beside the lobby and where housekeeping gets their supplies or cart in the morning. Breakfast is not included for the high price tag. We were right beside the restaurant patio. The fridge is in a dumb spot on the floor and you have to reach awkwardly around the desk leg to open it. I could go on. I guess for the price I was hoping for more and at least cheery staff.
6.3 Good
Pros: This hotel was in an amazing location and the view could not have been better.
Cons: Situated right on the shore, the hotel boasted a breathtaking view with excellent proximity to restaurants, sights and shopping. The hotel needs to go far to equal its location, however. The room was subpar, with mold the bathroom and a pool that was understated. The food at the restaurant was mediocre and salty, but the attentive waitress helped to mitigate this. The young lady who was on duty when we checked in was cool and pontificating. Staff on duty at check out were, however, very professional and friendly.
4.6 Okay
Pros: Once we were moved across the hall, loved the grass area, chairs and view we were given. Eat at the Restaurant, fabulous food.
Cons: poor room to begin with, knew we had an dog and had no outdoor space, after long weekend, not full and took some talking to have us moved over, wanted to charge an extra $40 then no visa so charged 620.00 debit, which I thought was ridiculous.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very accommodating and the room was wonderful.
Cons: I didn't love the view of the parking lot. Would have preferred a different view :)
5.8 Okay
Pros: Property location is excellent and the staff very helpful and friendly.
Cons: Website depicted hotel more elegant than it was hence the cost was way more than it should have been. Won’t stay again.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The sound of the train at 3am only two hundred yards away.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location, we had breakfast and dinner outside
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Waterfront
Cons: There wasn’t an available boat lunch and poor parking available at the city boat launch

Pros: The location is fairly close to downtown Nelson.
Cons: We felt that the charge for a pet friendly room was a bit high compared to the other motels that we stayed at.
7.9 Good
Pros: There was no restaurant on property. The manager was friendly and helpful.
Cons: A swimming pool would have ben nice, but there is no room for one
7.1 Good
Pros: The room was very clean and the staff were very good.
Cons: I had asked for a lower level room as i had a dog with me. However I recieved a 2nd floor room. There was painting being done on the stairwell and I ended up touching wet paint. The check in clerk helped me bring my things up after that. I ended up touching the wet paint again so I was a little annoyed.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean and charming place to stay , next time we stay longer.
6.7 Good
Pros: We did not know that it included breakfast. We enjoyed bringing our pet. The rooms are just a wee bit too small for comfort. Westerners are a bit spoiled in that regard. Thank you.
Cons: Nothing that you can do anything about. We were happy to be able to come.
4.6 Okay
Pros: That I only had one night here
Cons: The room was so small that the two of us didn’t have room to turn around, much smaller than the pictures they provided.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The view from the outdoor seating area
Cons: Room was a bit small and dark, no breakfast

Cons: Parking :should have told there is no parking for guests .made to walk 4-5 blocks to be able to check in. Will make a difference a future booking since we are semi handy capable.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice renovated older hotel. Funky. Good bar and food. Central, quiet.
Cons: Price. Despite the USD exchange rate it is still a bit pricey.
7.0 Good
Pros: Good location right downtown and close to everything. Nicely renovated hotel, and the room was great, cool modern decor mixed with the original brick walls. Staff were super chill with the travelling cat. Didn't check out the pub, but the coffee shop was excellent.
Cons: It's noisy. From the music in the pub downstairs to the people walking past until the early hours in front of the hotel, and others going up and down inside. If you're a light sleeper, you'll be unhappy.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff and check in agent were very friendly. I like the decor of my suite. I also liked that the common area where there for fridges for communal use since there was none in my suite. The common area was nicely laid out and looked welcoming.
Cons: The room was rather small for the cost during off season. Would have also liked to have been able to use a coffee maker although I understand the reason was because of the coffee shop downstairs. I like to have coffee as soon as I wake up before I get ready for the day.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location is awesome, the rooms are a good size. Nelson is a great little town
Cons: They've renovated the rooms which is excellent but have laid a timber floor that squeaks, it's incredibly loud.
9.6 Excellent
Cons: Check in issues. Some was in our room. Keys didn’t work. 30/45 minutes later after getting them out and cleaning the room etc we got in. Next day keys didn’t work yet again. New keys issued.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great place, spacious rooms, very clean!! Location was perfect and the eateries were really good...Louies, the coffee shop and the sports bar were great!! Will definitely stay here next year for our annual girls trip to Nelson!!!
Cons: Only negative was it was quite noisy in the morning....both inside and out...but not until after 6 am...up to then it was VERY quiet and peaceful!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location. Facilities. Dog friendly.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything except the parking!
Cons: Extremely limited hotel guest parking!! Pay parking is the alternative. But we understand, considering the hotel’s age and location in an equally old town.
6.7 Good
Cons: Need an elevator and a.m. room service.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice clean rooms friendly staff excellent food in Definitely would give this hotel a 9/10
Cons: Beds are to hard no box spring mattress Is on wooden frame
7.5 Good
Pros: Location was good, room was very clean and bed was comfortable. Food in the onsite pub was good.
Cons: The vinyl plank floors were very squeaky in the room and you also heard every person who walks by your room because of the squeaky floors throughout. There was also a lot of noise from the pub downstairs coming up through the floors and then later I'm guessing it was the cleaning crew in the middle of the night moving furniture around as they cleaned the floors, etc. of the pub until about 4am...almost sounded like drawers being open and slammed shut. Was a pretty sleepless night.

Pros: Location is good, just across the bridge from the city and fairly quiet. I forgot to leave a room key and the owner was kind enough not to charge but wait till I shipped it by expedited mail!

Pros: We only were able to spend one night in Nelson on our trip to British Columbia. The Villa was a great location for us. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. The king size bed was very comfortable which is worth a 5 star rating in my opinion. The room was very clean and well appointed and this was a great bang for the buck. Would definitely stay there again the next time we make it up to British Columbia.

Cons: Missed having a microwave
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location (just across the bridge from town), older building but rooms are very large and newly renovated. The flooring, bathroom fixtures, windows, doors, furniture, etc. are all fairly new. The bed was perfect and we always like night stands on both sides for books, glasses, etc. Lots of area in the room for the desk, chairs, bed, dresser (they are not crammed in like at some places), We enjoyed the peace and quiet and will stay here the next time we are in Nelson.
Cons: The continental breakfast was very light so we stopped in town for a big breakfast. They do not have a kitchen on site but do supply tasty coffee and a good variety of muffins, toasts, waffles, yogurt, fruit, etc. for any light eaters.
6.3 Good
Pros: breakfast was adequate but minimal when advertized as breakfast not continetal breakfast
Cons: I had requested a room with two king beds and instead was given a room with one king bed and was charged on checkout apprx. 20 dollars more than the amount quoted when making the resvervation online with booking.com

Pros: Staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean and spacous. Great view of the town. Great location.
Cons: No elevator to the top floor so carrying heavy luggageould be difficult for some. Not ideal for elderly.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Nice standards for double queens, room was clean, small balcony. Good value
Cons: We spoke to the night desk clerk because there was a diesel truck running all night in the parking lot. This should NEVER be allowed, but she said she couldn't " legally" do anything until after 10pm (which I don't believe is true) this made it impossible to sit out on the balcony in the evening. However, the next morning the day clerk told us she took 20% off our bill, which we did not ask for, but greatly appreciated the gesture. We also were unaware from the online photos that there was a Honda stockyard across the street which made the view not so good.
7.9 Good
Pros: Nice room size. Bed was comfortable.
Cons: Bathroom wasn't as clean as it could have been.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We always enjoy the North Shore Inn, always clean, comfotable, enjoyable stay. Great view. Convenient for Nelson but away from the crowds and train noise (a negative at night when styaing in Nelson). Always our first choice. And don't forget the Main Street Diner best food and price.
Cons: We enjoyed everything.
7.1 Good
Pros: The view of the lake was incredible and motel was handy to downtown at the end of the bridge opposite shore!
Cons: Need an elevator
6.3 Good
Pros: Nice new bedroom area..big and roomy
Cons: No elevator and not informed..had to lug suitcase up 4 sets of 8 or more steps..no options..not good for seniors. Bathroom corners needed cleaning as the bathroom has not been remodeled..the rest of room is nicely updated and clean
7.5 Good
Pros: King room was an end suite very large. Balcony looking towards the lake.
Cons: The stairs gave my wife a challenge, this should be noted on all future advertising. All rooms require stair climbing. Mentioned other items to front desk to take care of.

Cons: I tht bfast inc but seems only if u book thru their own website but not booking.com. they did give me vouchers when i queried this - donot think it gd bus.practice -have noted another comment ontheir website about this.
7.1 Good
Pros: Efficient check in and easy to find. Convenient location, near to several supermarkets and within walking distance of the town centre and the lakeside walks. Nice balcony overlooking the lake and park.
Cons: There is a railway line directly outside the hotel with a freight train that hoots as it passes. We were woken at 530am and 230am. We were not told about this until we checked in.
7.5 Good
Pros: It was close to Lakeside Park and the Chahko Mika Mall, plus downtown Nelson.
Cons: The flooring for room above ours need sound proofing work. We could hear every step and chair legs rubbing against floor, even late at night.
4.2 Okay
Cons: Our room had a dirty towel hanging on the door, and a panty liner paper next to the garbage. Clearly, the cleaning staff isn't very attentive. After taking a shower, I realized there was no hair dryer in the room. I called the reception and after finally convincing them that the dryer is missing (they argued that it's hanging behind the door, which it wasn't), they promised to bring one up. I waited about 5 minutes, then asked my husband to answer the door, as I wanted to jump in the shower. Because the reception never brought up the hair dryer (about 30 minutes had passed), my husband went down to get it. The person at the reception (who wasn't doing anything at the time) just said ,"Oh, yeah. Sorry, I was busy." Finally, nowhere while booking was it made obvious that a train passes by the Inn at 3:30 a.m. They do warn you about that during check-in, but by then it's too late. As the inn is right by an uncontrolled railway crossing, the train blows it's horn - yes, at 3:30 a.m. If you need to stay here, ok. Otherwise, I'm sure you can find another place to call home while in Nelson.
6.3 Good
Pros: The location was great and staff were friendly.
Cons: The fridge in the room wasn’t working and when my husband reported it to the manager he just said we could use the staff fridge.

Pros: Kokannee suite. Very good location able to walk to shops or to the waterfront, and the studio suite was cozy and comfortable. Absolutely loved the boho decor of the suite and everything you needed was there. Maria is an awesome host easy to talk too and she makes you feel like you have known her forever. Will be a return customer. A diamond in the rough.

Pros: Very individual suites, quirky not your average motel, would suit those who value something tasteful and different with bags of charm. Loads of modern facilities and equipment mixed in with the antiques. So easy to cook dinner for the family. Maria and Sharmaine were fabulous hosts, nothing was too much trouble. We stayed an extra night!
Cons: TV a bit dated but we didn’t watch much anyway. You come here to get away, so much else to do in and around Nelson!
