it was on the main road yet close to a beautiful picturesque town
Cleanliness, value for money Offer of tv channels
Was somehwere to sleep after a long day's driving. Very small, poky rooms which was clean enough, but the hotel itself was dingy.
Nothing The room was filthy cofffee stains down the wall big dents not fill in. Duvet minging, Went out for something to eat door card failed and we were unable to get into the room. Had to use the emergency number. The member of staff who arrived made us feel like we had upset her for calling her out. No wifi.
The hotel was just off the interstate highway, and was easy to get to. The room was clean and quiet!
nothing Dirty room - walls marked, carpet marked, curtains with lots of holes (cigarette burns?) Bathroom smelt faintly or urine. Window very dirty on outside (probably never cleaned). Door did not close tight (could be security risk). Top of shower tap missing, sink taps difficult to alter water flow. Breakfast limited, no fresh bread left at 8am and when asked for more nothing offered. Toaster not working, Orange Juice had more water in it than juice. Unpleasant location next to motorway and reached through a scruffy industrial site.
Fine breakfast The bed were a little small and I could not use my Visacard in the maschine outside to get the keycard.
The convenience of being able to arrive late at night and gain access to the hotel to sleep and break up a long journey.
It was not expensive, it was clean and the breakfast was adequate. The member of staff were pleasant. It was a long way from the railway station and there are no taxis available. The hotel furnishings were shabby and the room and bathroom very small.
I have one issue, I reserved a room through this site and received a reservation number from the hotel as we were arriving after 9pm. On arrival at the hotel, although it listed all the credit cards you could use it would not accept the master card that I had used to book the reservation with, I tried two other visa cards and it would not accept them. Luckily we have a french bank account and had to use that to gain access to the hotel. If this had not worked we would not have been able to gain entry and I my concern is that we would have been charged for the room because of our reservation. Can you investigate this problem please as we would want to be able to use this hotel in the future.
Location is good when in you need a pause during a long trip. It is by the road with quick access to it. Breakfast was pretty fair - but not included. Accomodation for families is very limited. We almost didn't fit into the room.
Everything was up to the standard I expect from the IBIS chain. Pity no in-house restaurant but more than compensated by Grill some 200m the other side of the car park.
Great location to stop over on route from south of france to eurotunnel.Great breakfast and friendly staff. Found a baby cockroach in our room. The room otherwise was excellent and was visably clean,
Easy to find, good for a base to explore the area. No dining facilities, although a restaurant adjacent. Not a particularly attractive area,(industrial), but the hotel was fine with plenty of parking.
Standard Ibis hotel, well maintained with all basic facilities. Breakfast available. Restaurants nearby. Place for working with plugs for notebook at the right height. Place for hanging clothes. Finally free Wi-Fi. A code is given for 24 hours and this time Orange.fr works without interruption or other problems. As all Ibis rooms are okay but too small. Door cannot be fixed and opening small. ou have to fight yourself into the room so to speak.
The room was clean and quiet. It was a good place to stay for an overnight stop.
Rooms very clean staff friendly and helfull ideal location to stop over easy to find and within walking distance of Nemours
We were given a bedroom on the ground floor when we asked for one. Breakfast was excellent. No restaurant, unfortunately but there was one nearby. Proximity to town. Easy to find from motorway. Free car park.
Free breakfast for kids. Excellent breakfast. Good value for money. Tea service in bedroom. Comfortable beds crisp linen very dim lighting in the room
Proximity of the motorway The dining facility at night. Discusting food.
The beds were very comfortable, and there was a nice, all-you-can-eat breakfast, at a very reasonable price, that included eggs, meat, cheese, fresh fruit, and yogurt, as well as croissants, bread, and expected beverages. Unfortunately, we arrived in the middle of a very bad heatwave, and the hotel had no air conditioning. There was also no lift, and to get into the hotel, there were about 14 steps, and to get to the first floor, there were about an additional 16 or 18. This was very bad for my 87 year old mother, and should have been indicated on the website. The bathroom had a typical hand-held shower device, but no way to attach it to the wall, which would have been more convenient, and the drains in the bathroom were excessively slow. I would recommend this hotel, but with the above caveats.
Big comfortable room with complementary drinks. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Hotel is located in the very center of the town: just few steps from the chateau, restaurants and parking It would be nice to have slippers or at least an extra floor towel for the toilet
this hotel is well-equipped and completely managed. none
The service we received and the room we were given were magnificent We enjoyed every aspect of our stay
Bien est central localize en Fontainebleau Too expensive petit dejeuner
Very helpful staff Great breakfast Great location Don't like the bedcovers -- too hot
Nice style "shabby chic", well situated, helpful staff Should give you a discount for parking?
There is a nice little bar and fireplace with self service bar. We all enjoyed sitting and chatting there. Very nice atmosphere. The hotel staff was very helpful and pleasent.
Location, Staff and quiet rooms-superb value for money
The Staff were very helpfull. particulary the lady in the breakfast room. Major road works were being conducted we were not able to drive up to the hotel without difficulty. I would have expected that more details would have been availabel on the website, regarding arriving by car. We had a lot of luggage so were not able to walk from the street.
Fabulous location, staff extremely helpful, facilities very good.
Distance from Fontainebleau,10 minutes at most. The Air Conditioning did not work in our first room, although they changed our room without a problem. The restaurant was a bit expensive.
old TV with just a few channels and poor picture quality
Pleasant hotel, friendly staff Swimming pool was very dirty
Front Desk staff very friendly and helpful. Free 20 minute use of hotel computer and internet. Breakfast included in our special rate, and a very good breakfast. Easy to get to Fountainebleau or other parts via country roads or A6. Difficult to cool down the room even with the air conditioner on all the time.
The hotel was very good, comfortable, clean etc. The reception staff were very nice. The Spa staff were not very welcoming. the staff at the spa
Convenient quiet location.Large secure parking.Surprisingly quiet room for such a large Hotel.Superb heated outdoor pool.Modern decor but certain areas could use an upgrade,eg Carpets.Food not Gourmet but quite presentable. Very busy with business conferences.Very long corridors and although trolleys are provided no apparent help to take cases to room which could be a disadvantage if disabled.
Comfortable chain hotel. Functional design, clean and quiet location. Very polite and efficient staff. Good parking but look out for high "lip" at entrance gate as we damaged bottom of car on this. Would stay here again.
Good facilities, nice location. To expensive. Breakfast not included.
I booked for 3 guests, but we were given facilities for only 2 guests, inspite of our reminding them the 2nd day. The receiving counter staff was very courtous and helpful.
A comfortable hotel with good facilities, ideally located for exploring Fontainebleau, the forest and many other interesting villages such as Barbizon. Friendly staff.
the hotel building is lovely. The reception staff were very helpful. The location is excellent. we we unable to use the restaurant. The bar was not very user friendly. The whole hotel needs refurbishing.
the room was in the back, not in front of the street, so it was very calm
Ok for the price received by booking.com otherwhise too expensive for the comfort.Breakfast very poor....
Central. Breakfast ok. Staff pleasant and helpful. Room was cramped. Mark on sheets.
Its location Lack of hotel car parking. The rooms at the top of the hotel are certainly not in the "luxury" class.
The system with the local car park worked well. The room was shabby and not like the photographs on the website. The second bed made up for our daughter used a double sheet turned over, so it was uncomfortable for her. The air conditioner was so noisy we had to switch it off in the night. the bathroom needed a good make over, and the toilet was not clean.
A beautiful room. Dinner at the hotel restaurant gave me food poisoning.
The location, the entrance hall and public rooms all were lovely. Cobwebs on ceiling above tv, stained carpeting around large area by the lift, chipped paint on the lift doors on our floor - shabby. Breakfast very expensive so did not have it there. Was told firmly that I was on a budget offer, which was embarassing. Bed very short for my tall husband.
Excellent staff to help guests. Please continue this.
The room is equipped with jacuzzi, dvd player. Nice room but rather small, nice staffs. The food in the hotel restaurant is only fair, and the taste of overalls are too salty.
The room had all the little extras and it was a charming place located in a charming town. The door to the room could have been a little more solid.
The hotel is a wonderful historic building (Robert Louis Stevenson wrote here) with updated rooms and super baths/ Free Internet, flat screen TV, two excellent restaurants. The set dinner in the Bistrot is a bargain. Beautiful pool and yard. Sometimes the wireless was down.
The staff were at pains to be of service. The hotel is very comfortable and the food excellent. Right in the middle of Barbizon, with Fontainebleau and Vaux le vicomte nearby, it was a perfect base for exploring these important monuments and the painters who lived in the village. The forest starts just a few yards from the hotel. As we were virtually the only guests, the buffet was not laid out for breakfast after the first day and we had a smaller selection of the delights that had been on offer the first day when there were more people in the hotel.
calm, great pool & garden. lovely village & surrounds
The small touches of luxury that made me feel special - such as a delivery of roses with a welcome note, chocolates on the pillow, weather forecasts for the next day and suggestions of things to do. Its also a very beautiful village and the hotel is right in the centre. The staff on reception were also really helpful on a number of different occasions going out of their way to help me out. The food in the restaurant was somewhat disappointing considering the expense - a bit over-complicated and fussy
The very pleasant surroundings and comfort of the accommodation.
the location is very close to the citry center the room was sometimes cold
The staff were all very nice and accommodating. The dinner at the hotel restaurant was amazing, I would definitely recommend eating there. The hotel is in a perfect location just across the street from the chateau and very close to the main street (cafes, shopping, bars). This is a great hotel if you are looking for an affordable no frills French hotel experience. The details on booking.com stated there was wifi through out the hotel, this is not the case. there is only wifi in the entry way (very small space) and the restaurant. And it was so slow connecting I had to go to a cafe and used their wifi.
Two friends and I were climbing in the local vacinity and used the hotel as a base for the weekend. Good location and facilities.
Good location and pleasant room at a reasonable price. Good restaurant. Breakfast a bit expensive at 10 Euros. One light did not work in the bathroom.
good value, excellent meal, friendly service, great location.
staff are perfect, breakfeast is very good (big choice, fresh), view to chateau! nothing
The overall surroundings and hotel its self was lovely, even fantastic. The restuarant was very much over priced for what you got and we eat all over France! We requested a twin room for two men on business and was allocated a double room which they would not change. Another room had to be taken which I thought was a disgusting attitude and will never stay here again despite its overall appeal.
I liked the Chateaux. Calm Area. Good Breakfast / Diner. Rooms were clean, with fine furniture. We had our rooms in the outbilding with an rustic ambiance. Service was good.
location-parking-staff-room-bathroom-internet access---food- the rental clubs available for use on their golf course were sub-standard at best----with the availability of club sets either at the golf warehouse stores or on sites such as ebay these were not acceptable for use on a fine golf course as they have there.
Friendly staff and lovely setting. Accommodation very comfortable. No outside seating besides on food terrace. Golf players tend to be a bit intrusive at certain times.
Location was great
no proper room service facility
Fast reservation process, realiable Mercure Hotel!
We loved being right in the heart of the city, able to walk easily to the castle. Not always enough meats and cheeses for breakfast.
Hotel was a shining beacon in an area clearly not intended for the tourist trade. Very nice rooms, bathrooms and breakfast area. Breakfast was better than most with self-service pans for making eggs and a variety of nice foods. Lack of any local food places or places to get a beer. I realize it's not the hotel's problem, but if you're just passing through, eat and drink first.
