9.6 Excellent
Pros: Modern and clean room in quiet location with free parking. Optional breakfast was very nice and good value. Would have used the bar but too tired after long drive. Lovely hosts.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I like the neighbourhood which is very quiet and calm for a short stay. JR station is just down the road, rain ride to Kanazawa is just over 20minutes. And this property is also a very good base if you are travelling to nearby Hakkusan and nearby towns. Property itself is clean and good for us as a family with one older kid.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location, super friendly staff, clean and comfortable accommodation and great advice about the local area.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great value within easy commute to Kanazawa
Cons: Chairs would be great!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: My room is with a private entrance and small garden, its very spacious and comfortable. It also has a wet pantry and small coffee table that you can enjoy tea and snacks. They also provide free car park, very nice place!
Cons: The pillow is too flat.

Pros: Amazing staff service and architecture
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The service is really good and the foods are so delicious. Highly recommend this hot spring hotel.
Cons: No
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Foods, service, private path onsen bath, semi open air condition connected in the room, cleanness. Best experience was the dinner and brekfast served in the room (if you want to dine in the room, you need to make a request). All the dishes in the menu was exceptional (English discription was available for the dinner) and the service sprit was impeccable! The room was very clean and exactly as the picture. We especially loved the private path onsen bath, semi open air condition connected in the room. The garden was also very pretty and well orchestrated even in thr winter time.
Cons: Everything was wonderful. The public bath did not meet my expectations as its outdoor bath was not operating during my stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: From the moment we were collected by the free shuttle bus at Matto station to our return the following day, we felt warmly welcomed. The traditional room was spacious. Japanese yukata, including night attire, is provided for your stay, enhancing the experience. Bathing in the private indoor and outdoor onsen was incredibly relaxing. The dinner and breakfast were substantial, with the many delicious dishes highlighting local produce. The variety of complementary flavours and textures was incredible. The staff are so friendly and helpful. While Matsusaki may seem expensive, it was definitely great value. Our visit there was the highlight of our Japanese experience.

5.4 Okay
Pros: The room rate is too expensive. It didn't meet any expectation at all.
Cons: Room is large.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent staff. Even not speaking Japanese they the upmost to explain and support
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast
Cons: Open bath open time too short.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was large and comfortable. The bathroom was also large for a Japanese style ryokan. The outdoor onsen was beautiful, but it was closed the next morning so we only enjoyed it the first night we were there.
Cons: The outdoor onsen caretaker was very rude and yelled at us incessantly in Japanese because we had removed the wrap towel inside the bath. Apparently, since it's co-ed, you were supposed to leave the heavy towel wrap on. At most onsens, even some co-ed ones, you do not wear anything inside the water, so they need to explain in English that at this onsen you keep it on at all times. The English sign just said to put it on in the changing area, and the used towels in the bucket there were dry, so I assumed you didn't wear the towel inside the water. It would have been fine if he explained it to us kindly. Even after we complied and I apologized for being an unknowing foreigner, he kept watching us and I felt uncomfortable.
5.0 Okay
Cons: The outdoor onsen was said to close at 10:00 PM. The staff did not give proper instructions, in Japanese or English, about procedures regarding the outdoor bath. Furthermore, the staff insisted we leave the outdoor bath 20 minutes before 10:00 PM, saying it was now closed. Would never return to this location. 10.0 Excellent
Pros: I got a room on the top floor with a nice view.
7.5 Good
Pros: Small hotel. Typical APA hotel format, so you know what to expect.
Cons: Standard rooms are tiny. On-site facilities are minimal. Had to walk across the road to it's sister hotel for breakfast and onsen. Not in the same league as the equivalent APA hotel in Kanazawa - which is very nice indeed.

7.5 Good
Pros: Close to the airport, comfortable rooms and good internet. The vending meachines provided everything needed for a night in the room.

Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The onsen was quite good
Cons: It took a very long time to check in. The staff seemed to have problems first with my residency card (I didn’t bring my passport as I live in Japan) and then my credit card. The room was very cramped, for example the desk was piled high with things but none of it really fit. The tv was too big for the table and looked like it might fall off, the hairdryer was in a drawer too narrow for it so the drawer wouldn’t close, there was no free space to put anything so I had spend a good five minutes clearing thing and putting some of it on the floor so I could even start to make a hot drink. I appreciate all the amenities but the room wasn’t big enough. Which is odd considering there were at least three people talking loudly and up late next door - I’m guessing there’s wasn’t the same size. The pillow was terrible and the bed hard. I didn’t sleep well. Note there are also two APA hotels very close, and given the amount of maps there are available I’m guessing a lot of people, like us, go to the wrong one first.
6.7 Good
Pros: Basically this hotel has a good place near station, a clean and warm facility.
Cons: Room is too small. The Wall is so thin that you can even hear clearly about what the neighbor guests are taking-_-
7.5 Good
Pros: The hotel met my expectations. The room and bed were very small but that is very typical for most of the hotels I’ve visited in Japan. Room was quiet and clean although quite worn. Staff was super helpful and friendly.
Cons: The bed was a bit broken: the bedframe was broken in the middle and I had to put some books under the bed to make it more confortable.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Breakfast
Cons: Space
5.4 Okay
Pros: Breakfast and service was great.
Cons: Room was small. Access to hotel restaurant was not accessible to a handicapped personl

6.7 Good
Pros: Staffs are extremely helpful if you can understand Japanese
Cons: The room is dated
4.2 Okay
Pros: Food
Cons: Room facilities, air conditioning had sound loudly at night; the safe have 4 layers but only one was worked. Floor was not flat in the room. No hot water.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Extremely beautiful hotel with very friendly staff. Even though we did not speak Japanese, communication worked quite well. Staff members spoke enough English and were very kind and welcoming. The house has a very traditional feeling to it, but after a few moments of adjustment we noticed the atmosphere was rather relaxed. The room itself was large and very nice, the bathroom a little aged, but the hot tub was amazing nontheless!
Cons: We asked for futon beds and understood these would be brought during dinner. Some minutes later three staff members were entering the room, and we didn't know what they wanted due to our lack of Japanese. There were no futons after dinner, so we had to ask again... I guess communication is easier when you're able to speak a little more Japanese.
5.8 Okay
Cons: Hotel really old, we booked 3 rooms; 2 for four and 1 For 2. 2persons room no bath room inside the room; 4 persons sometime have hot water sometime not. Air conditioner was really old, no remote adjust the temperature and the button like 20years only 1,2 and 3. The most important was really noise. Very disapointed.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Natural hot spring Onsen, history being the second oldest hotel in the world
Cons: Limited ala carte menu for youngest 12 year old kid, carpeting looks a bit tired and old
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Out door bath room Dinner and breakfast are nice. Cofort bed
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great Japanese garden, onsen, and hospitality. 1,400 year-old history of ryokan (registered the oldest ryokan on Guinness records at one point).
Cons: Futon was a bit hard and slight odor of smoke in the hallway. Food was so-so but it was catered to my pescatarian diet. I appreciate their attentiveness to my dietary restriction.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Impeccable services. The room we booked was a little bit cold, and they were happy to arrange to a differrnt room. Also, when we were worried about the next reservation in another Ryokan, they were happily checked with that Ryokan delivering our special request for us. Onsen (hot springs) was wonderful - the water quality, bath tubs and piblic bath areas were very clean and well maintained, outdoor bath was very nice. Nice and all necessary toiletry amenities. There was nice tradition art experience park nearby, where we had a fun and shopped for nice souvenirs gifts.
Cons: Some areas are old and therefore looks not clean, but considering how old this Ryokan is, it is very well maintained.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: We booked this 20 minutes before checkin as our flight was cancelled, expecting (for an exceptionally cheap price) to get a tired business hotel with tiny rooms. It was simple, for sure, but the rooms were big, and the public areas fresh and welcoming. Best value for money I've found in Japan in a long time!
Cons: At the price we paid... absolutely no complaints.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Airport Hotel? It’s beside the train station in centre of Komatsu and not at airport Rooms are damp, small and there are not even basic eating facilities in hotel.

Pros: Very nice Ryokan, the staff was so friendly and welcoming. We had a room with a privat onsen in it and it was really fantastic with the view onto the lake. The japanese dinner was also fantastic. We absolutely recommend this place.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: A marvellous experience. Absolutely charming staff made you feel so welcome. Great dinner and breakfast. The baths!!! . And the futon was sublime. Thank you so much
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I think I can safely say that this hotel exceeded my expectations. The staff was amazing, very helpful and kind. The food was divine and we got to experience Japanese cuisine through just a dinner and a breakfast. Kaiseki was served in a private tatami room. The Onsen was clean and spacious with a lot of options for bath necessities. The location of the hotel is really good as it is by the lake next to the water temple and a few meters distance from the public foot baths. They picked us with a minibus from the train station and they return us the same way which is really convenient as the station is a bit far from the hotel. We just headed to the tourist office at the station and they called the hotel to pick us up. We were welcomed with some tea (we had teapot, water etc in the room) and some sweets. The always helpful staff showed us around our room and arranged for our dinner and breakfast times. The staff was so friendly we felt like we were home! I would definitely recommend this hotel to everybody and I will probably return another day myself!
Cons: Nothing to mention here.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: nice view (lake and fireworks), very friendly, esp. Mama-sang :)
Cons: as of August 23~25, need painting (outer wall), need re-tinting (bathhouse)

Pros: Location by the lake
Cons: Food so so.

Pros: Room is big and amenities are good. The receptionists are all good.
Cons: The breakfast is so-so, less choice than expected. The location of the hotel is near the station; however, the train to go there and back the Kanazawa station is quite limited in terms of time so sometimes, it is too crowded, making travelling less appreciate. The room is too expensive on weekend compared to the convenience and the offer.
