It was nice and clean and hade a fine sauna in the basement. The staff were nice, and they served good food.
Quiet place, and parking is not a problem. Breakfast did not offer too many choices, and English language is not among the strongest skills of the staff.
Pleasant hotel at a reasonable price. Location is good for access to lakeside and pleasure boats in summer, and winter sports in winter. There appeared to be a railway line also, but I didn't see any trains. Rooms were clean and breakfast was excellent. Nurmes is a moderate sized town, but not really very busy in May. Parking is easy in a choice of free car parks around the hotel. There is a nightclub attached but it did not disturb us during our stay. The worst feature is the fact that you need an access code for the door and we couldn't get access to the hotel despite having booked well in advance. We rang booking.com whose representative Alex was helpful. In the end we got a postman from the sorting office next door to locate the manager who told us there was no one on the door on Fridays, and people normally waited for the pub next door to open and find the manager. All very laid back, but in some ways we would have preferred at least a text to let us know the code! Seems that this is typical in Finland, at least in May ( the hoteliers' holiday season) as it happened to us at three hotels on our tour round Finland
Breakfast was included in the room price and excellent.
