Pros: Location was awesome. Owners friendly. Surfers paradise.
Cons: Not much around open to eat at night. Supermarket sufficed.
Pros: Treated like family, in a clean environment that is close to the beach. A convenient commute from Tokyo but the feel of an island paradise!!!
Pros: The owner was way to friendly! Hè even drove me around to check out different spots to surf! Would deffinitly go there again!
Pros: Everything exceeded my expectations! Super friendly hosts who made sure we had everything we needed. It’s located a short walk from stores, restaurants, and the beach. It’s a quiet town with a relaxing feel to it. The surf lessons were the highlight of my trip so far! WAY more fun than I imagined.
Pros: Del and Kelly are the loveliest hosts we've ever met. Thanks for the awesome time, the great beer and the amazing apple cider :D

Pros: It absolutely right on the beach. Relax and unwind, go for a surf, it’s all easy. Dane, was a great help and source of information, plus a wide range of surfboards to choose from. Pick up and drop off at the station made it easy again.
Pros: The staff was so kind and entertaining! I enjoyed staying there and would recommend here to stay!
Pros: A great place, right on the beachfront - perfect for surfing. We were made to feel relaxed and welcome in Dane’s family home, BBQing together on the awesome decking area and chilling out in the shared lounge when it rained. The surf lessons were great and the area is close to some other, pretty beaches for swimming/ exploring.
Pros: Relax, Freedom, Smile, Cleanliness.
Cons: No problem.
Pros: The view
Cons: Sharing a bathroom with the owners and their kitchen wasn’t clear in the description.
Pros: The personal tour of local attractions by the owner was memorable and invaluable.
Pros: Staying here was honestly one of the best decisions we have ever made :) Dane is a great host! We had great conversations and he has so much knowledge and experiences to share with us. We did BBQ here and would absolutely recommend! It's very rare to be able to do a proper cook out in Japan. Would 110% bring friends along and come back during summer, to try out the different water sports the place has to offer. Thank you for the awesome time, can't wait to be back!!
Pros: Good ocean view, kindly staff, good night sky with stars and perfect sounds of waves.

Pros: Right beside the beach, and it’s the quieter area! Love the tatami rooms and the futon. I woke up early just as the sun was rising and the view was just breathless. 10 minutes walk away from the station. The steamed egg for breakfast is divine.
Cons: The bathtub had a few brown stains so I did not use it. The room first smelled stuffy but after awhile it got better. Maybe turn the air filter on before check in time? Had the Japanese breakfast and dinner. I think the freshness of the seafood could be improved. The breakfast could have a bit more vaiety.
Pros: Beautiful view right next to the beach.
Cons: Breakfast was a bit disappointing.
Pros: Clean and on the beachfront. Also the DVD rental service.
Cons: Nothing in particular.
Pros: Location is wonderful and perfect, 100 meters form a nice, large beach. Staff is kind and friendly (although not English speaking at all) Rooms are old, but tidy and clean with all necessary comforts, including a silent fridge. Japanese breakfast is delicious
Cons: Continental breakfast is horrid Fixed dinner menus are average or low in quality.. I would actually recommend to go in one of the restaurants nearby for lunch and dinner. Towels are few and really old
Pros: The beach was right infront the hotel so the location was perfect. The room was clean. The beds were fluffy. There is a parking space. Recommended all season.
Pros: The room was amazing - best view!
Pros: I love the big windows that over look the ocean, the blinds was nice.. it can be open, or semi-transparant or totally closed (dark). Right just in front of the beach.. great view!!
Cons: The windows was kinda dirty on the outside.. and lobby doesn’t have a comfortable seat.
Pros: The views are unbeatable it’s truly outstanding to stay on the beach with each room giving you 3 floor to cieling windows of the surf beach. The staff are very polite and lovely
Cons: The Hotel and the town itself if something out of the early 90’s and almost deserted apart from the staggering amounts of surfers. It’s the only reason we went to get away from Tokyo though I don’t think I’d recommend it to fellow travelers. There was nothing much else to do on the day it’s rained or after surfing - even the local surf rental was stumped for things to do other than surf. Luckily we had fair weather and spent each day at the beach. Also the rooms don’t get serviced at all during the stay and the breakfast that is included is pretty good but comes between 7:30am and 8am every morning
Cons: Front desk didnt budge on the check in of 3pm. Rooms were obviously available. As stated its Japanese bedding and you will sleep literally on the floor. If u have a bad back or physical problems dont use that hotel. Its seconds from the beach so location is good. A few restaurants are within walking distance.
Pros: The view! Dinner was fresh with great sashimi. The amount was just enough for us to go on a stroll to the neighboring convenience store to get some dessert. The Japanese breakfast was great too. The room was large enough for 2ppl. Bed, table, TV and lounging area positioned comfortably. Bathroom was roomy enough. There's a dvd player in the room and dvds you can rent for free in the rack near reception. There are not many titles but, useful in the night or on a rainy day. We arrived at Onjuku Station via the special rapid train, Wakashio from Tokyo Station. The location of the hotel was approximately 15min by walk. Siteseeing points are limited if you don't have a car but, if you're there to rewind for a day, the long stroll on the beach would occupy your day. Was perfect for us! Dog friendly hotel too.
Cons: Our room was on the 3F. It was great you could view the sea whilst lying in bed but it did make us wonder whether the dog walkers and surfers could see us too. If they had privacy screens that would allow us to look out clearly but won't allow others to look in, I would've felt more comfortable. The room did allow us to feel 90% free though ;)

Pros: Very good breakfast, many good Japanese and western options available. Right next to the beach! If you like surfing, it makes a lot of sense staying here. There was also a lot of small and nice restaurants around.
Cons: We were happy about everything.
Pros: A dated accommodation for the price you pay. Beachfront location is great
Pros: sea view is great. and breakfast menu also very good.
Cons: bed is not comfotable. no any facial cream or lotion. In night, anyone not greeting to customers.
Pros: Good breakfast buffet.
Pros: The place was so clean and nice view and very near to the station and the staff so nice
Pros: Location was great and staff were friendly and helpful. Answered all questions and provided local recommendations too. Room was also comfortable and had beautiful ocean view. Would stay again and have recommended to friends since.
A great location close to the station, also Katsuura Morning Market, one of the 3 best morning markets in Japan, is 2 minutes away on foot. The seafood restaurant 'Kaisen-ryori Takenouchi' adjacent to the hotel serves fresh seafood sourced directly from the Katsuura fishing port. Our bath using semi natural koumeiseki hot spring (hot spring made with minerals extracted from Koumei stone) has a reputation for keeping you warm.

All rooms 55m² or larger. From the windows you can view the mountains of the valley and lush greenery. This hotel stands in a rich natural environment and large grounds which only a hotel with a golf course can offer. This satoyama resort hotel is only 10 minutes from the sea by car and you can smell the sea breeze from Boso.
Pros: Great golf course and staff, good accommodation
Pros: Bathroom is huge! We got heap of space even in a relatively small room. Would like to try resort and camping facilities one day.
Cons: The dinner is boring.
Pros: Good breakfast selection (as well for Westeners), spacious room, enjoyable golf course
Cons: You have to book your Dinner 1 day before (only japanese menü/course during winter season, in summer is BBQ possible)
Pros: The room was large and Breakfast also great
Cons: The resort is in a little bit far from the train station so if you don't have a car, it's a little bit inconvenience
Only one minute walk to the fishing port and the beach. Our popular Iso cuisine (shore dinner) is prepared with plenty of freshly caught seafood. We also recommend Shochu (Japanese distilled spirits) selected by our president himself. A whole family can relax in our private bath. After the bath, you can wind down in your room listening to the sound of waves.
With a stay at Katsuura Hilltop Hotel & Residence in Katsuura, you'll be within a 15-minute walk of Kakuoji and Katsuura Morning Market. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage, and an elevator. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The hotel is quite big and we had a gorgeous room with a splendid view.
Cons: The hotel doors close at 10pm and if you want to get in you have to ring the bell. We waited for 5 minutes before the staff came and let us in and felt a bit guilty for it. Maybe the automatic cards will help.

Guests can enjoy various activities in the surroundings, including windsurfing and fishing. The nearest airport is Tokyo Haneda International Airport, 67 km from Kagaya Ryokan.
Cons: Badly, small, The room is dirty.
Pros: Quiet, no frills, good value, very clean, traditional Japanese accomadation right on the waterfront. I'd describe in western terms as back-packer style. Parking was close-by. Super-fast wifi, TV, fridge, air-con and kettle for hot drinks in the room. (I'm including a sunrise photo from my room's balcony which overlooks the small port). My room was tatami/futon style which I found very comfortable. The toilet was just across the hall. The bathroom was large with great views over the water.
Cons: I arrived after dark and it was initially a little difficult to find as I do not read kanji so could not input the inn's name into the car Navi and the telephone number did not prompt a location.
Pros: The view from the room was nice. The staff friendly. Ryokan is situated in a very pretty area.
Cons: The dinner option was expensive and we didn't get offered breakfast. It was unclear how far the Ryokan was from the station. It's a 30 min walk. The Ryokan smells because of the roosters/chickens.
Pros: The hostess was very accomodating and helpful. She even gave us a ride to and from stations and gave us info on transportations.
Cons: It's too far from the stations
Pros: Convenient location
Cons: Bath area has nice ocean view
Pros: The chicken
Pros: The view, that’s all for sure
Cons: Hum, how should I start ... - The smell of the Chicken inside the house - the bed sheets seem dirty : I wonder if cheap from the night before - never refresh YOU CAN. OT CALL IT RYOKAN
Pros: Hostess so friendly despite the language problems. Nice view of the sea and the harbour from the room.
Cons: A bit isolated from shops and restaurants. You need a car or a bicycle (rented from the hotel).
