Room comfort, Leisure facilities and view from room N/A
The views from the window over the Llangollen Canal were nice. Staff friendly. Found it hard to get to grips with the air conditioning. Having manually turned it off it came on again automatically.
Very nice indeed We would have like to have dined in the bridge rest# rather than in the bar
good food bath room a little small
Canal-side setting, attractive and interesting
Everything. Air conditioning unit just a little too loud.
My wife and myself enjoyed a relaxing spa and then a wonderful meal in the hotel restaurant. The hotel facalities are excellent. Rooms are nice without going over the top. Bar Prices are good value. If the hotel can maintain these prices it will do very well.
The toilet seat had broken,we didn't like to complain!!also no staff when we went to the bar near the reception twice!!!once on our arrival then around 5 30 pm!!!it would be nice to have a pint in the hotel instead of going across the court yard!!!we stay here often!!!
The room was very comfortable with beautiful views over the canal and the countryside. The spa was superb with a huge range of treatments on offer and helpful friendly staff. We had an excellent meal in the restaurant with local ingredients. Although the food was excellent, the restaurant staff did not seem well trained, eg they did not return with requested items, nor did they ask or anticipate whether anything was needed.
The location was lovely. I haad a lovely walk along the canal in the Autumn sunshine One of my guests in another room changed room as the room had apparently been used, also another guest had used towels when they checked in.
It was conveniently located and had a relaxing atmosphere. As above re leisure centre also some of the furnishings are looking tired!
Excellent service and super breakfast. Comfortable clean rooms beautifully decorated. The hotel could do with a lift as my elderly mother struggled to get up to the third floor.
The friendly service
An old but comfortable hotel that provided just what a traveller needed for a short stay, neat, tidy and well staffed.
friendly, small, good value, tv services could be better
The staff were very friendly & polite. The food was of excellent quality. Nothing
Excellent location, in town centre and close to countryside. Comfortable bar/lounge area. The room (216) was quite small and very hot. Radiator valve was very stiff to operate. Even when closed completely the room was hot. Very little drawer space in the room for clothes, only a cupboard with hangers. Bar prices...£3.80 for a glass of wine?
hotel in good position, stayed in the laura ashley suite, nice room, very clean and an excellent breakfast, thanks for a lovely stay. nothing
It was convenient desk staff were helpful. No mini bar, en-suit far too small, Table light didn't work, TV didn't work properly, window had to be fully open or closed; unless propped up with bottle. No bar or snacks mid afternoon. I was only there one night so didn't bother; too costly
We enjoyed the lovely breakfast. We stayed here on an earlier visit in 2003 and really enjoyed our room, but this time we were assigned a much smaller room with only one chair. We felt somewhat cramped and were disappointed.
Beautiful surroundings, excellent service and good food accompanied by good weather. none
Clean, value for money and excellent service
The rooms are comfortable and unpretentious. The views are magnificent. It has a real country house feel Nothing
The hotel had a wonderful feeling about it, staff were very welcoming and friendl. Nothing
The hotel is very picturesque and roomy. The staff are very attentive and dinner was lovely
Brilliant staff. Very friendly and helpful. Great service. Great setting. Good food. Manky carpet in bathroom. My aim is pretty good (well, most of the time) but this was obviously not the case with previous guests! What's wrong with tiles or lino on the floor?
The staff were very welcoming and service at check in and in the restaurant was excellent.
Beautifully situated hotel, very friendly and efficient staff, cosy and welcoming atmosphere, excellent food Did not particularly like the decor in the bedroom, there was no hairdryer - probably been nicked but a check should have been made beforehand
Not a lot! Compared to the "lodges" it was pretty basic. Most of it - it was not of a high standard. a bit like Fawlty Towers! It was all locked up when we got there even though we were an hour after the check in time.
Made to feel very welcome by everybody. Food was excellent. Rooms were lovely. A nice friendly atmosphere. Would definately go back.
Breakfast excellent. staff very helpfull and polite. Hotel could be good with some tender loving care and an update on decor.
Very friendly landlord Internet not working
The breakfast, hot, plenty of it and plenty of choice. The manager was very accomadating and cooked a mean breakfast. The hotel.
Warm & friendly staff. A long way up to top floor to carry a my overnight bag.
the food was very good and value for money
breakfast was well presented and very filling lots of choice coffe and tea pipping hot
Friendliness of the staff and an interesting location
The landlord was friendly and tried to makeup for the initial failure of the online booking system. The breakfast was good. On arrival, no room had been booked due to a failure to inform the landlord by the booking agent. Fortunately, I doubled up with a friend who was already there. Overall impression was of a general shabbiness and lack of maintenance. The shared bathroom door didn't lock; the bedroom light switch was at the far end of the room; the bed wasn't made; etc etc.
