Pros: perfect ...clean ... nice view ....
Cons: nothinng
7.0 Good
Pros: Well - I frankly want to say You the truth. It is leaded by very freindly, heartfull people, but ..it is a little ne remote. So that can be the great chance of enjoying secludeness too - as we did. I mean - just the way to reach the remote property was certainly a bit difficult. A 1,5 km unpaved road which came out to be a one way road is leading to the destination, hard to to find because not equipped with sign. Within the campagnile allready a bit remote. But with the help of some locals we finally reached our destination. Some tv channels could be in english language ;)
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Good location for exploring Tuscany. It's located roughly between Pisa, Florence and Siena. Pool is great. Apartments are clean and comfortable.
Cons: The road leading to the property is a little rough. The kitchen is pretty sparsely equipped for anyone wanting to cook themselves.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: The restaurent is outstandingly good with a perfect location
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Stunning location, gorgeous old & elegant buildings on the side of a hilltop village, at its centre, with small outdoor pool and open-air restaurant overlooking the spectacular Tuscan views westwards, fabulous cuisine, good convenient free public parking nearby, great service.
Cons: Mattresses surprisingly poor in such a classy establishment!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was outstanding. Good variety and very fresh. Unfortunately I left my documents and valuables in the room safe and did not realize it until we were in Austria! I called the hotel and they retrieved my things from the safe. I did not want to have the items sent by courier, so unfortunately we had to drive half a day back to pick them up. They were waiting for me at the front desk. I would definitely return to this hotel.
Cons: Be aware that there are many steps if you have mobility problems. Not a problem for us. Also, they could use another hand in the breakfast room. The poor server was running all over the place trying to serve the guests. There are several different breakfast rooms at different levels. She was tired, but always smiling, pleasant and ready to get you what you wanted, but it was a bit of a wait. The other downside was there were too many biting insects to enjoy the beautiful open terrace and lovely views while we had breakfast. They did have insect repellant available though!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: All of it the entire hotel, staff, décor and food were amazing and we shall most definitely return. The village was beautiful and the atmosphere wonderful. When we opened out balcony window the view was to die for.
Cons: The bed was a little too firm for me and the pillows were not plump enough, but that's all we would have changed.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: View fantastic, staff very friendly and facilities wonderfully quaint.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great athmosphere. Courtly, tarnished interior. Nice location. Friendly owner and staff..
Cons: The breakfast assortment is poor, if i compare to my experience all around a world.
6.3 Good
Pros: Amazing view from restaurant terrace, very cosy atmosphere and all surroundings felt like home. Good food quality. Expectations about the location were fulfilled completely. Interiors are decorated with old furniture that makes you feel like in past and home of real Tuscany villa.
Cons: When we arrived we were given a room with unusual bed (see attached photo) and it was not very comfortable to get in or out. The owner was so kind that on our request he changed rooms. Breakfast coffee was surprise as there were only filtered coffee served. For the additional money, you could order real coffee. There were no omelet or scrambled eggs in breakfast, only boiled eggs. For the money we paid daily for this hotel we expected more. The second disappointment was swimming pool (what was the reason we booked this hotel) - there was extremely a lot added chlorine and it was not too clean.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect service and extraordinary delicious foods in the restaurant. Highly recommended..
8.8 Excellent
Pros: 1. Location in the middle of a small unspoilt Tuscan village wonderful. Not many other tourists. 2. Parking was easy 100 yards away in public car-Park. 3. Food in the restaurant good.
Cons: 1. Flies and mosquitoes 2. Hotel restaurant not open for lunch or two of the four evenings we were there. 3. Wine selection is limited. 4. Air-con cannot cope with the heat of the summer.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved Everything! The whole place is a complete oasis for relaxation. So beautiful, set in stunning surroundings. The staff were amazing, (especially Francesca- she was the happiest most helpful young lady ever!) The pool is perfect, apartments are clean and traditional. Just idyllic.
Cons: Need a car

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing place with beautiful surroundings. Nice pool and garden. Great starting spot for exploring the Tuscany.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nicely located in between olive trees, quiet, friendly and flexible staff, lots of nice hiking tours and sweet small towns in drivable distance, yummy Pizzeria Il Tigli up the hill
Cons: Nice appartment with good view - after we cleaned the windows. Kitchen utilities are basic.
8.0 Excellent

Cons: There wasn't a Kettle, paper towel, iron, hair-dryer in the room. The kitchenware was not well-cleaned.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: October/Autumn stay: Everything was amazing. Francesca has made our stay really smooth and easy. We have landed in Pisa quite late but her brilliant instructions have made it easy for us to navigate and pick up the keys. The apartment was really lovely and peaceful. We have stayed in apartment, Olivo, which is located in one of the side building not far from the main one. We happily recommend Fattoria for late October/Autumn stay.

Cons: Old furniture
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Good size room
Cons: No advertised satellite TV, room was grubby, expensive, towels were threadbare. Plentiful supply of voracious mosquitoes
10.0 Excellent
Pros: the house is absolutely incredible, spacious, clean, inviting and hosts are very hospitable, make their own wine, which is fantastic. the location couldn’t be better for day trips through tuscany away from tourist hordes
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Roberto and Clara were great hosts. Lovely pool and facilities. Fabulous scenery and Roberto offers a great wine tasting
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Roberto and Clara are a lovely couple. They were very helpful and made our 4 night stay most enjoyable. The apartment was spacious and had everything we needed. The pool was superb, far better than we expected. Ideal base for visiting Pisa, Florence, San Gimignano, Siena, Volterra, coast - and more. Pizzerias and Gelaterias nearby within 20min walking distance or less than 5 mins by car. La-lo’s had great thin crispy pizzas and lovely staff. We will certainly return.
Cons: Booking.com info indicated the apartment had satellite tv but this was not so. This was not a problem for us as we don’t watch tv on holiday. Guests need to be aware if it is required.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful place, stunning views, nice walk to the lovely little village of palaia
Cons: We loved it, but they could do a lot more with it, although it seemed like the girl running it was run ragged. She never stopped working.. pool left a yellow algae on all our bathing suits and no info or help about local area.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The flat was really nice, cosy and clean. Oh, and the pool has the most beautiful view in the world! We really got more than we expected for that price! I can recommend it for families!
7.5 Good
Cons: Some air-conditioning in the bedrooms would be good
6.3 Good
Pros: Great pool. Nice apartment.
Cons: Baking hot in apartment had one fan for 2 bedrooms - couldn't open window because of mosquitos. The owner could have shown more flexibility. Owner appeared to be tired and could have been more accomodating.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The house was lovely and our host Greta was very friendly and helpful. The pool was stunning! We enjoyed watching the sunsets here. It was very peaceful.
Cons: Everything was great, I would suggest a few more staples in the kitchen (salt pepper olive oil etc) but other than that everything was perfect.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice pool, very friendly and helpful owner. Large apartment with air-conditioning.
Cons: A bit under staffed at busy moments, but it is vacation, so some patience is acceptable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is quite and nice, a quite big old building like a country gentleman's house. My apartment was roomy and clean, witha a view on the courtyard. The beds were good, and the bathroom clean. The swimming pool was quite big and in a great location, facing the hills. I liked its bathroom shaped as a medioeval tower. The parking was inside the property, safe and shady. The breakfast (called "italian") was good, with tables under the trees. There was also the possibility to play crocket, badminton, bowls...
Cons: Just some banal things: the apartment had three windows, but only two mosquito nets. Given the hot night and the mosquitoes, I would liked having a third window that could be opened :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hospitality was amazing, the accommodation was rustic and comfortable, surrounded by picturesque scenery and so peaceful. Greta and her twin daughters are amazing hosts, if you want to escape the modern day it is superb. The drive ti Pisa and Florence is straight forwards, but a car is needed
Cons: Restaurants are few a far between, but the ones there are, are good

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Incredible views in every direction. Staff were very friendly and were extremely helpful showing us everything we needed to know. The apartment had everything we needed for our short stay. There isn't a cooker but this isn't required really as food is cheap eating out and a short walk down the road into Colleoli is the Tigili restaurant which does great food.
Cons: The only minor thing would be that booking.com states English as a spoken language when it isnt. This did not impact our stay at all though!
6.8 Good
Pros: The swimming pool was really nice and the location is very pretty and well kept. With the ground floor apartment there is direct access to the garden. The appartment looked just like in the photos. The apartment had been recently painted and was very clean. However it could use a through rennovation.
Cons: On booking.com they said that English was spoken at reception but this was not the case with us. The reception staff spoke only Italian. We stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment Magestrale which is on the ground floor. There was a musty smell in the apartment and the ventilation was not good which gave the rooms and the bed a bit of a damp feel. The bedlinnen was strongfy perfumed. (to mask the musty smell?) The appartment is rather dated as are the fly screens. The bed was unfortunately too hard and we slept badly. The rangehood / ventellation unit above the stove was dirty and needs to be cleaned.
4.5 Okay
Pros: Location and pool. Palaia is a beautiful Tuscan town which I have visited for the last 16 years. Excellent local restaurants. The pool area and the pool itself were pleasant and well kept.
Cons: Very basic and poor quality accommodation (pictures make it look much better ). TV not working. No information about WiFi. Unable to borrow an iron. Top floor not good for husband with angina.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautifull place situated on old posessions included palace and services buildings. Stylish tuscan interior, excellent views from windows, big mediterenian garden with comfort pool open on begining of may. There are manufactured very tasty vine Grecciano and extra vergine oil. Family of owners with mr. Sergio very very kind! 100% of my recomendation!

7.5 Good
Pros: A unique stay in this historic house .a real privilege .like living back in time
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Elegant in every aspect
Cons: All superb
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hostess was polite and delightful. Our room had access to a terrace which was a bonus and the whole property had a historical feel, absolutely amazing. The breakfast was traditional and lovely, we really loved this hotel and if you like traditional Tuscan style with an olde world style, you are in for a treat. Pub, restaurant, cafe, supermarket, parking all within a stones throw. The town clock chimes on the hour, all adds to the charm of staying in Palaia. If we ever get the chance to buy a property in Italy, this is where it will be.
Cons: No negatives.

5.4 Okay (1 reviews)
5.5 Okay
Pros: Great views, near Pisa, Florence and Volterra. Very good swimming pool.
Cons: The house is 800 years old and the buildings around it could do with painting. No air-conditioning, there were fans provided. If you like really old buildings this is grand. Very steep hill up to villa, that you can't drive up to.
