Though the rooms are basic the view of the maritime port from the roof terrace was very enjoyable. Breakfast was good and the staff were friendly.
Not a lot but the staff were very good and could not do enough for us. The decor is tired and needs brightening up. The room windows were filthy. The restaurant served Sea Bass with bones in it and the scales mixed with the fish. At breakfast we were expected to drink poor quality orange juice out of plastic beakersand in the room only cheap plastic beakers are provided instead of glasses which is poor for this standard of hotel.
Really nice view from the breakfast - terrace on the port. Great value for money if you consider that it's a 4* hotel. It looks that the hotel was 30 years ago probably almost 5*, nowadays it's great value for money. I have no special complaints. No parking though.
No free Internet use
It is situated just opposite the dock of the ferries we arrived on. The hotel staff was very forthcoming. The hotel restaurant on the top floor gives a superb view of the harbour. We had a spacious 4 bed room.
The staff were very friendly. This did not appear to be a 4* hotel. The bar had tablecloths and was not welcoming. The restaurant shut at 21:00 hrs. We moved out after two nights because of the loud banging of water pipes in the ceiling vent of the bathroom from about 22:00 hrs - 01:00 hrs and which started again at 05:30 hrs. Other guests we spoke to on the 5th floor had the same problem. Happily, the hotel did not charge us a cancellation fee and appeared to be aware there was a problem with the plumbing. The sea view was over the docks with noisy ferries and not at all what we expected. This is a convenience hotel and ideal for people travelling by boat.
location of the hotel is comfortable for me to go for the event and city trip
Location Surprisingly poor breakfast buffet
The room was clean The air condition was very noisy and didn't work properly.
very good situated, down town it looks like they where trying to save some money with taking out the air-condition all the time, in the middle of night, in the midst of the day and so on, when complaint, it was ok. for some hours, but then started again...
I got a good promotion. My room was upgraded (two singles instead of one twin). The hotel is well located. I got a very good recommendation for a restaurant from the staff. The parking is not very convenient as there is no connection with the hotel. Also, I was not expecting I would have to pay for parking. This information should be available at the website. If the information was there, it should be made more visible.
Parking facility not so convenient----perhaps it's common with all big city.
location and breakfast there isn't parking space at the hotel,it is a wrong information hotels web site .Parking is nearby but not belong the hotel.the recepsionist didn't helpfull about parking.
It is a perfect hotel for a weekend trip. The breakfasts are famous, the heartbeat of the city is well felt in this hotel.
Excellent, central, great value and very clean.
location the room - too small and I have been pre-charged by booking.com
Location Internet Valet parking (extra charge) Breakfast Nothing really
Close to city center Reception attention need to improve
price, location, breakfast, internet would like free wifi throughout the hotel
Location, modern design of rooms and common areas Coffee served at breakfast, there was no safety deposit box in the room, although it was advertised, shower cabin was leacking
Good location, quite clean. In general the hotel is good. only minor drawbacks: Wi-Fi is not free, and there is no alternative as the coverage of 3G in the hotel is rather poor (you can get it only near the window). I personally never care about breakfast, but this time it was included in the rate so I tried it, and it was not the best I could imagine - it is much better to go out for a coffee. Perhaps needs a little renovation?
The best part was breakfast
Nice room, generous breakfast, good location, beautiful decor all around the Hotel, Staff at reception could have been a bit friendlier. One would also expect staff in a Hotel of that calibre to speak English. Only 1 of them did.
Very attractive design, history and tradition. Excellent service, restaurant, breakfast. Good location. Price is enough high for small room.
Breakfast was poor... One guest mentioned that previously egg dishes were served. Staff was not so friendly, except one reception lady.
The public spaces are grand, and my room was spacious, well furnished and comfortable, even for three adult and sophisticated who visited. Do not miss the room where the complimentary breakfast (quite complete and good, with a wonderful Maitre D') that could double as a Grand Ballroom. The staff, particularly at the Front Desk, was polite, gracious, pleasant and helpful. All this said, my experience mat be a bit skewed by the fact that, while am an American, my family is of Italian origin and spoke to the staff in Italian, but I suspect other guests had similarly good experiences. I will be returning to the hotel at the end of the week for three more nights, and expect to have another very nice experience. You will here from me again only if it is not that way. There was nothing I did not like about the hotel. On the other hand, it has been more than 15 years since I last travelled to the UK or Europe, and I was surprised, and not in a nice way, by the number of people, from all over, who believe the flip flops, shorts, and T shirts are appropriate attire in public spaces of nice hotels.
Service and comfort Breakfast was limited, and the same line up every day, with poor service. Not sure what the waiters where doing.
Beautiful hotel! The setting is romantic and luxurious. Service was adequate. Make sure you complete your transportation research before you get there. The staff was not very helpful with that part. If your airport is in Palermo, the bus only costs 8.5 euros. The staff recommended taxi, which costs appx 50 euros. Other than that, it's a must see hotel.
An old fashion comfortable well sited place. Beautiful dining and breakfast places.
one o f the best we have found bottle opener with mini bar
Location Super dated, extremely dirty carpet throughout with many old old stains. Whole hotel feels like it needed a major renovation perhaps 10 years ago. Hauntedtly empty and felt dustry throughout.
It position within the City Following a number of requests for details relating to information needed they were found to be very poor in responce to e-mail
location, ambiance all ok
Really nice staff! The rooms are nice and comfy. Breakfast is not really diverse but it taste good and was fine
Our room included a small balcony featuring a fantastic view of the downtown area, Mount Peligrino, and a peek of the Port. Mossimo very kindly produced a platter of ham, vegetables and fruit for us one evening when my daughter and husband were feeling ill and weren't up to going out to eat. In our 3-person suite, the TV in the 3rd person's room was not working; the shower doors were crooked and couldn't be adequately lined up and only one shower head was working. Also, my daughter felt the sofa bed was very uncomfortable and not what she was expecting.
Location and parking facilities were good. Good breakfast. Very nice and modern room + bathroom. Most of Palermo toerist visiting points within walking range. Staff helpful and speak good English. Good value for money.
location Noisy at night .
Cleanliness of room, complimentary water on arrival in room. Great early check in and late check out. Quiet despite location, too. No bad points for this hotel, perhaps would have been nice to have a bathrobe and one bottle of water each rather than just one.
rather near to the centre The furniture is too 'cold' and so were the staff; not particularly helpful. They never did one step more. No hospitality demonstrated
The location near palermo's main piazza, pedestrian malls and fine restaurants made for a wonderful if short stay.
Great hotel! In some rooms the street noise is very disturbing. Our friends stayed in rooms 107 and 108: great! We stayed in suite 414: lousy windows, so a lot of noise, really, a lot!
Good location with a free garage. Our room was located on the road side and it was very noisy at night (the room is renovated but not the windows..).
The location was good, the ratio price/quality was excelent, there was a parking of the hotel. Everything was fine.
Location We were early in the season so lot not yet open, e.g. roof bar
Central location; comfortable rooms
very well situated in central Palermo; helpful staff; worthy of 5 stars.
The staff was wonderful and very helpful. The rooms were very clean and comfortable.
Friendly and helpful staff, great location, very good facilities.
Location, Breakfast, Comfort We had a problem with the air conditioning. We had to keep asking them to turn it down in our room - which they can control - however every morning it was back up to 26c. Also if your room is located on the ground floor the noise from the street is atrocious- I know this is a large city, however no attemps to mask the noise were made. This is not a 5 star, at best it is a 3 - 4 star hotel
The hotel is excellent and in a prime location
Location Street outside a bit noisy
exceptionally good service (including handling a complicated change of booking); superb health/beauty centre; large and comfortable room; delicious breakfast; great location (close to airport bus and range of restaurants, bars, cafes) - all round one of the best hotels I've stayed in.
The staff was exceptionally helpful. When we ran into a problem with our atm card some days after we checked out, the staff went far out of their way to help make facilities available to help us sort out the problem. I would never choose a different hotel in Palermo. It'll always be the gh Wagner.
The staff was very helpful and friendly, the rooms were also very nice.
What impressed me most is that all of the staff are very gentle and professional. Also, rooms and facilities are nicely done, clean and comfortable. I definitely recommend Artemisia to my friends.
Great location, very tidy nicely maintained - a bit pricey at Euro 135 a night but we did book late. Staff great, very helpful - shower had a leek and when we asked to have it looked at it was repaired (absolutely properly) immediately within the hour. Couldn't fault the service. If you don't like city noise you might not like the location of the hotlel but we quite enjoyed the buzz. however if you don't like city noise don't come to Palermo full stop!!
Great position A little noisy
Excellent hotel, especially for 60 Euros a night. Room wasn't huge, but it was very comfortable, the hotel looked very good and was near to main shopping area
// The room was small and with one small window. The food selection for breakfast is too poor for a 4star hotel and the space was insufficient.
Situation, very central Staff, the hotel is very old and it needs some reforms.
Very helpful front office staff, very central
Location is very good, close to the city center and to the main bus stop,on other hand it's very peacefull and calm.
The attention I received
center of the town comfort food staff
The biggest or rather the only plus of this hotel is the localisation. So, if this is important for you this choice is very good. Standard is poor, however, the renovated part looks better.
Nice building, great & helpful staff. Good location not in the historical centre, but in the hot spot of weekend night life. The hotel is really ok. Main disadvantage is lack of free WiFi. Personally I don't like the pompous style of American chain hotels, but if someone does it is the right place. Some furniture and fittings in rooms and bathrooms could be replaced/renewed.
most of the hotel staff The hotel was under construction during our stay.
The overall general quality and standard of service. The only problem is the fact that there are renovations taking place at the moment and it was a bit noisy at times.
Very central possition for shops and main points of interest. I inquired about parking but nobody came back to me, parking was in fact available but would have been nice to have been told before hand.
only stayed one night, room was excellent.. finding your way to the room through a maze of corridors ans lifts is a bit difficult
The staff are extremely attentive, well informed, and friendly. This used to be one of the classic hotels in Palermo. Unfortunately, "Hiltonisation" has forced all the interesting and ecentric aspects that made it great into standard Hilton off the peg lowest common denominator. No doubt that will make Americans comfortable.
other than sky light roof windows the room had no windows at all,
Room was tidy with a high ceiling. Staff were friendly enough and located near local restaurants. Room above the bar was a bit noisy at night as the windows were not sound proof. Staff were moderately helpful.
The location was great and the dining rooms/ breakfast were incredible. Parking is a problem. Especially with no direction before hand. They are on a busy street during business hours.
Breakfast was very good. Staff was friendly, multilingual and very helpful. Wished there had been rooms available which would accomodate a family.
I thought that my stay was very pleasant. i liked the room and the staff were very helpful
a medium hotel with quite good location
Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel. The picutures on the internet do not do it justice. Customer serivice is very friendly and staff are generally all genuinely hospitable. It should easily make it into a red hotel in the Michelin, provided it improves its breakfast. I hope, however, that such an award will not lead to a lack of reality with regard to room rates in the future, a concern based on the runaway pricing I often witness at establishments which become popular...success inebriates the mind. In the meantime, congratulations are in order! Auguri! Breakfast requires improvement, but, honestly, so does breakfast in most hotels in Sicily, irrespective of rating.
The suite was very good for our family of four. The room was quiet. The breakfast was excellent. My only critique would be that the staff should have warned us not to drink the tap water on admission.
Very modern and stylish. Top quality room outfit. Badroom with naturela ventilation. Quite location in Palermo and relatively close to the center. My room was in the first floor and I could hear from very early in the morning all the noise coming from the ground floor (expresso machine, preparing tables for breakfat, telephone ringing)
the environment is good, quite and comfortable
Very friendly hotel. When we got there they upgraded us to bigger room that was excellent for the same price. Close to city centre but by the car In order to get in and out of the parking you had to ring the bell and give your room details every time..but that is not so serious "problem"
room & bathroom are spacious and clean location a little bit far from center, service is not a 3 star hotel, safe box was broken and nobody checked it before guests arrival, but in total hotel is OK
Lovely room and helpful staff. Stylish boutique hotel with great bathrooms A little far away from the centre of palermo
the stuff The room The willing to help
The staff was very helpful and spoke English well. The room was clean and comfortable. They arranged the trsnsfer from the airport late at night. Our room was at the front of the hotel and the street noise was loud. We never got the internet to work.
Modern and V. clean. Yasteful restoration.
I liked its convenient location, clean room and breakfast. The tv channels were a bit limited, the only English-language channel being CNN. I would have liked to see BBC too, at the least.
The location of the hotel was perfect. And the room was really comfortable. there was nothing that really bothered me.
The friendly personnel Poor breakfasts
good location. Very friendly staff. my room was in front of a very busy street. Lots of street noise. Breakfast selection was quite limited.
Excellent staff, very helpful. Room was just right as was breakfast. Internet facilities werealso excellent. A hotel I would use again for sure
location, good breakfast, luggage could be left until 2pm
Central location Needs refurbishment. Carpets need to be replaced immediately
Cristal Palace Hotel is a great hotel in the center of Palermo with a walking distance from main shoping streets. Also it's easy to reach Mondello beach (bus stop is very very near) and city bus to Palermo airport is just near to the hotel. Airport shuttle is also a great thing that is available in the hotel. Staff is doing excellent job, they are all very kind and professional. Kitchen and restaurant in hotel is great as well. I'm happy to recommend this hotel.
location is very central, and it was clean and silent (but we had a room to the backyard) in booking.com it was sold as a 4star hotel, after arriving it turned out as a 3 star hotel, not only the standard was really basic 3 star, it was also everywhere written only 3stars, that made the price not very special. breakfirst was in a windowless basement and not really that exciting, but if you ask the stuff you'll get espresso instead filtercoffee
Central location, large comfortable room, nice bathroom, good value Dirty carpets!
Splendid view from the private balcony. The location in the very center of the city. Breakfast was served in the room. The bar should be open also in the evening.
The stay was wonderful due mostly to the exceptional customer service of John Luca and his female colleague at the front desk. We had an issue with the date of our booking and the hotel staff made us feel welcome and ensured that we had a room to stay in. The room was exceptionally clean and with a view of Teatro Massimo. They catered to our every need, from holding our luggage and providing excellent recommendations to offering a late check-out and scheduling a taxi to the airport. Highly recommend due to the excellent staff - they deserve a raise!
I was totally disappointed in this hotel. They claim on Booking, com and in their literature to have free wi/fi internet throughout the hotel. This ia a bare-faced lie: they have no wi/fi.
I really liked the location. The staff was also lovely and helped me carry my bags up and down the stairs. The staff was very helpful in every way. The only thing I didn't like about this hotel was that it was always noisy. The rooms are not sound proof so you could hear everyone talking all the time. I had to use ear plugs to try and sleep.
The room, the view (from balcony). 4 star Hotel, and breakfast at the room? I do not think it should be like this, with 3 peaces of croissant.
Staff was excellent. The location for visiting tourist sights in Palermo is excellent. The entrance way, which is flight of stairs to the lobby, could be improved.
Located in central position, staff helpful and kind. Posizione centrale per visitare la città, staff gentile. Entrance on 1st floor wihtout elevator, wifi service does not reach all rooms, basic breakfast and served only on rooms. Entrata al primo piano senza ascensore; copertura wifi non arriva in tutte le stanze, breakfast basico e servito soltanto in stanza. Piu credibile come 3 e non 4 stelle come viene presentato.
The whole experience was excellent ! The welcome and assistance was extremly helpful. Recommendations of restaurants were followed up by booking and taxi, restaurants recommended were excellence.Breakfast served in room of excellent coffee ,freshly made selection of small croissants, breads and pastries with jams and marmalades.Requests attended to quickly and efficiently.Wonderful, tradional hotel.
Close to Theater Massimo area, but on a quiet street. The place and the variety of breakfast was perfect. The hotel persons were kind enough. I really had a comfortable stay. I didn't think Wi-Fi worked perfectly, though I could use the computer at the front lobby.
It was a nice and comfortable place with very supportive staff. We'll book this hotel next time, whenever in Palermo!!
Location 1. The room, for a 4 star hotel, was very small. 2. The staff was ok, but could be more helpful
Fine classic and luxury room. Interior nicely decorated as in a small palace. Good quality used. Excellent bed and the room give you the feeling of being in a complete other world. It was so nice. Reception was several times unoccupied. Staff looks professional (nice clothes) but perhaps due to the lake of the English language, this staff is not trained for (hotel) problems/mistakes and or emergencies. E.g.We've specially booked a room with a balkony (as stated in the written room-reservation/description ) and the case ended "as is" so without balkony.
Good location. A nice, pleasant, quality hotel. Parking prices are quite high: 15 euros for the "night" (ending at 9am!) and 10 extra euros for the "day". The parking is mysteriously located (hotel staff pick and get the car for you) and may just be a public, open- air parking that's a couple streets away from the hotel.
The hotel was quite small and had an intimate feel about it. The staff were helpful and courteous ,particularly as we arrived late in the evening. The location was in a spacious part of the city with plenty of room.
The location is very convenient when arriving with the bus from the airport. Most interesting parts of the city are in walking distance. The location just outside the touristic center makes it a quiet place to relax after a full day. The staff is nice and speaks english quite well. A big video screen with loud music in the breakfast area is not my preferred way of having breakfast.
Central location. Room very nice, loved the balcony in the room. Great breakfast and courtyard.
The location is excellent: close to the theatres and major sights, in a well-kept part of the city, on a quiet street. The rooms (though they could be a little larger) are tastefully furnished and spotlessly clean, the building is beautiful and very well looked after (inside as well as outside). Staff is helpful and friendly. Excellent breakfast buffet, too!
The staff were very helpful, the room was very good and the location was excellent. Navigating by car in Palermo is not an easy task.
Very helpful staff, free internet. Good breakfast. Nice decor in rooms. Quiet, good shower! Its a little out of the way - the old quarter is more central. The bedspread in the room needed laundering and the room was a little small, although perfectly adequate.
The staff were extremely friendly and helped us make many phone calls to arrange things. The location was fairly central and rooms were clean. Services available did not feel like a 4 star hotel, eg. no room service (although hotel staff helped with ordering takeaway pizza for us), no hotel restaurant, no hotel bar, no tea/coffee making facilities in the room.
The hotel room was clean and comfortable The breakfast staff were rude. The selection of food was inconsistent (one morning there was no bread, another morning there was no one to serve tea coffee). The hotel was difficult to find, and the facilities (bar, food etc) were poor. I expected more from a 4 star hotel
Only 5 minutes walking distance from central city square. Good connection by bus to central train station (link to airport). Wonderful breakfast buffet. Very friendly staff. New, very clean hotel, new towels every day. Very wide choice of restaurants nearby. Don't look to the left: on the border of a poor, marginal neighbourhood.
Very satisfactory. Modern and civilised. Reasonably central, convenient for opera, airport bus and car hire. Helpful staff - good restaurant recommendations. A little noisy. Somewhat run-down area. Breakfast could be higher quality but simpler.
Very helpful and pleasant staff. Location: would have worried walking to restaurants on my own (a woman) at night. Absence of doorman.
friendly and helpful staff, nice room, great area. no
Good location and friendly staff.
An excellent hotel that provided good value for money. Helpful staff and an international breaakfast.
Perfect location: a lot of good restaurants and bars within a walking distance and the main shopping street just round the corner. Friendly and helpfull staff. Comfy pillows and matress.
Really enjoyed staying here, great staff, friendly and good recommendations for meals, etc. Comfy and large room. Would be nice to have a power bar for charging multiple cell phones, cameras, etc. We only had one power outlet in our room.
The location of the hotel is excellent especially for the airport bus. The breakfast choice was the best of our week's stay in Sicily (3 hotels) The air conditioning was terrible in this hotel. There was a choice between sweating and freezing. Luckily had only booked one night in the hotel as slept really badly. Had to get up a number of times to turn the AC off and later to turn it on.
We liked the very kind and helpful hotel receptionists The breakfast organisation was poor, but this is a complaint!
Very nice hotel, we got an upgrade for free!
They upgraded us to a Suite and we were very much impressed with the jacuzzi, the huge bed and the own terasse with two sun beds. Breakfast was generous as well. Reception staff were helpful and kind. Although location was not very central, it was not far either. One more bonus point was that there seemed to be a police station/guard post right on the street level of the hotel which made us feel extremely safe.
The friendliness,cosiness,vicinity,helpfulness,design Nothing
nothing except the breakfast. no service. stuff is unfriendly. noisy. WIFI for 10 euro a day !!!
The room was really small, and basically available only after 8.30pm! There were as well no parking available, I wouldn't suggest this hotel...
