Beautiful grounds. Pool and spa clean warm and large. The Reef Bar has great service and food. Rooms are older, but kept up. Bed was super comfy. I would stay here again. Would recommend to friends also
I liked it. Some would say dated, but that is what we liked.
Very comfy bed and room. Interesting atmosphere. Location. Convenient. Nice staff.
Great deal on a comfortable hotel with large pool and excellent dinner restaurant Evzin on site. We enjoyed a box lunch by the pool served by friendly staff. On an overcast tuesday in december we literally had the place to ourselves! But I bet it is bustling in high season.
The tiki motif from 1964 is vintage and cool but also really showing the signs of wear and tear.
Facility old and not neat. Pool water can be better maintained.
Reef Restaurant, Convenient Location, Large Room, Large heated pool, Adequate parking.
The restaurant was understaffed and the waitresses not very attentive. Moko Loco and Pulled Pork sandwich were very good once they arrived. Food came out at all different times. The shower did not get very hot and did not stay hot. The temperature fluctuated. The fitness room equipment was not so good; elliptical squeals like a pig and the bike was falling apart.
The Caliente Tropics Resort is decorated in Polynesian decor with tiki torch, coconut carving, and tiki statues, and coupled with a retro 1960s style. Some travelers love the dated, retro look but others want a revamp. Budget travelers looking for a convenient location, clean room, and a lovely pool will find all they need at Caliente Tropics Resort.
Set on the main drag of Palm Springs, Caliente Tropics Resort is less than 10 minutes from popular downtown restaurants, bars, galleries, and shopping. There are a few restaurants within walking distance but popular regional destinations like Joshua Tree National park and Coachella are a 45-minute drive.
The property features a beautiful outdoor pool, the largest in the area, with spectacular mountain views. The adjacent courtyard has a sunny lawn with barbecue grills and cabanas. Guests will also find access to two outdoor shuffleboard courts and a ping-pong table under a covered pavilion. A fitness center is on-site, as well as Evzin which serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner in tiki-setting.
The 90 rooms at the budget hotel have been renovated but still feature a standard layout. There are a variety of options for guests to choose from, but all rooms feature convenient necessities such as free Wi-Fi, coffeemakers, and min-fridges.
Caliente Tropics is the perfect outpost to explore the booming Palm Springs area. At the hotel, guests can save money while enjoying the area’s attractions, from top-rated golf courses and vibrant festivals to nature tours, museums, and active nightlife.
