Friendliness of the hotel manager/owner. We only stayed for one night but we were made to feel very welcome.
Strategic position (5 minutes from the airport, 5 minutes from the beach), good quality/price ratio, very good breakfast!
Location. A 1 hour bus ride to the beach. Also, the people were not helpful when giving information about the bus. I had to hitch hike one night. I left the hotel after one night and had to pay extra to leave. Horribe experience. It was unfortunate.
Marika's Apartments was very comfortable - family owned hotel, so the atmosphere was nice and relaxed. Owner helped in renting car, finding cheap shops for food, bus routes etc - the staff was very helpful and polite. Located in the center of Pastida, Rodos - with bus routes to capital - Marika's Apartments is excellent place to have quiet and relaxing holiday, but possibility to go everywhere in the island ( to have fun in the beach, restaurants etc ) I do recommend !
The Marikas apartments are relaxing and friendly. The location was remote, you really have to have your own form of transport, though there is a bus service from the town square but runs a very vague timetable. During our stay Savas held a fashion show one night, totally ignored his guests and used our outside furniture leaving us nothing to sit on outside.
The strategic location in the island
Nice pool, food was excellent, and hotel staff was friendly. Air Condition didn't work properly, beds were stiff, not worth the money.
It was clean and comfortable. We thought the price of drinks especially water was ridiculous and drove people to go out of the hotelto eat and drink which was a shame!
The efforts of the reception desk on the problems appeared. Definitelly the aircondition !!! Its really out of the question to have so poor airconditioning system and practically sweat into the room especially after breakfast time!!! The problem was not only in the room but also at the bar and most of the common use areas!!!
Friendly and heplful staff; excellent location - on the beach. Check-in procedure and the kind of room we were offered (smaller balcony, in front of the elevator). However, all other conditions afterwards inclined the balance toward good recommendations.
choice of beach and pool, full range of facilities at no extra cost.
The excellent service from the staff. The "space" around the pool areas. The overall cleanliness of the hotel. Although we were on Bed & Breakfast we did eat in the main restaurant for dinner on one day and were disapointed by the menu choices and the qualit yof the food. We were pleased we did not book Half Board as the dinner selections were below the standard we would expect from a Five Star hotel
Beautiful hotel. Clean beach.
η παραλία, ωραίο δωμάτιο, μεγάλο μπαλκόνι, υπέροχα λουλούδια στην αυλή, καλό φαγητό... θα προτιμούσα το κρεβάτι να είναι διπλό και όχι δυο μονά :)
The swimming pool
The hotel was quiet, restaurants were good and an upgrade to elite is well worth the extra.
the hotel is brand new, very clean, elegant design. the stuff make all the efforts to give a good service and it is beyond expectations. the rooms are big, clean and very compfort. the food is great and served nicely. near to perfect because the hotel is new, the spa is not opened yet, it would have been nice if we were told about it when we booked.
We stayed for 9 days and it was a pleasure for us to be able to go to the beautiful beach in 3 minutes from our room after a very decent breakfast. The only problem was the position of the aircondition - just oposite our the bed. I consider that this should be reviewed in a room which was described as a luxury sea view room. My husband and I both catch a cold because of that
The Hotel is sparkling new. It is very comfortable and has modern facilities and equiptment. The Staff are in general very courteous and helpful. Excellent sea view and beach facilities. The beach is a pebble beach rather than sandy. You need beach shoes to walk into the sea. The Hotel was serene and was comfortable with many respectable international visitors. However, one day before we were leaving, i.e. on September 2, 2010, a large group of unruly visitors from one country arrived and caused a lot of noise at the beach, the swimming pool and in the balconies until late at night causing discomfort to other guests. The Hotel Management did not do anything to rectify the situation and ask this group to be more quiet and respectful to the comfort of other guests.
food in top restaurant, views, jets in pool, window in shower changing to transparent no mini bar in the room, the loud singing on the ground floor as you can hear it in the bar and restaurant on the 6th floor, nothing to hang the shower, bad quality bubbly at check in (better to serve nothing)
The food we had was incredible. Great breakfast buffet and fantastic dinner at Noble. Our original room was very noisy (below the Executive Brkfst room) and had many stains on the floor. When we asked to be moved, the staff acted like we were putting them out. We were only there for a few days and wanted to have a nice relaxing time so this was a bit disappointing.
The pool was very nice. The staff were a little rude when we pointed out that the air con was not working. We were told that it was working although the boss told off her staff in Greekthat clients should not be told that there is any issue with the a/c. Unfortunately for her I speak Greek and I pointed out to her in Greek that honesty would have been a better option. She didnt bother apologising.
Very good hotel. The deluxe room + see view is amazing. Food was good Gym is lack of equipment and old. Wifi is not that good.
The location is beautiful, right on the seaside. The facilities offered by the hotel and the friedly personel make sure that the guests have a most relaxing holiday. I would also like to stress the high quality of the buffet breakfast and dinner.
a super average hotel and definitely not a five star. 3 at best. only go if you're going with family or kids. Not for couples looking for something romantic or relax. Buffett is below 3 on a scale of 1 to 10. Gym is a 1 (being 1 the lowest). Swimming pool is full of clorine (normal with so many kids) and beach is so so and in the bad side of the island, unless you want to be close to the old town that is worth a 1 day visit only cause it's so commercial due to the amount of cruises bringing one day visitors that the whole town although a wonder in terms of architectures it is ruined looking like a souk. Better go to Symi or Kos
We stayed for 5 nights in a grand suite with private pool and the room was excellent! spacious, lavish and well designed. The hotels beach was very nice. Definitely not a"couple orieneted hotel".We have never seen so many kids wandering around every single corner of the hotel. Both restaurants lacked in service and quality! Even to find a fork or a cup for coffee you had to wait for 15 minutes! The dresscode in "Alazonia" restaurant was ridicullus after all
It was a luxe hotel, luxe room, seaview and pool wonderfull, everything very much OK! breakfast was very good and various, but every morning we had to beg for coffee!!why not a coffeemachine (douwe egberts?) or a thermoscan????it was 'the quest for coffee' every morning!
The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. The price was very good considering how nice the room was.
Absolutely stunning hotel, we had a suite with a private pool for a perfect honeymoon. Fantastic and plentiful breakfast in the suite-residents-only restaurant which offers beautiful views of the ocean. Free arrival drinks/cocktails/evening dinner as honeymooners which was very welcome although they forgot the 'flower decoration on arrival'. Excellent air con, huge room with jacuzzi in bathroom. Peaceful & relaxing. 10 minute bus ride (€2.10) or taxi (€10-14) to stunning Rhodes Town. We went bed and breakfast but the sumptuous 5 course dinner menu is only €15 a head; highly reccomended. The hotel also has a virtually private section of beach which is very pleasant whilst the rest of Ixia's beach backs directly onto a busy road. The staff, although polite, were not the quickest. Service at the pool bar/restaurant took ages; up to 15-20 minutes to get drinks, even longer for food. It also took quite some time to get service at the reception too. We also got fed up with noisy cleaners in the morning! There is very little other than a couple of supermarkets and downmarket restaurants/bars in walking distance, even these are situated right on a very busy, noisy road. If you like to venture out of your hotel, get a taxi/bus to Rhodes Town which is absolutely stunning. Ixia itself has suffered very badly with the economic crisis and it's not great. The hotel has a very well stocked bar, but the cocktails are unfortunately badly made and very expensive; €9-10 each.
It was beautiful and a great location for us. nothing
Very Clean .. Great Breakfast Poor Security ... you can access the hotel without passing through reception. You can have breakfast without being a guest in the hotel - you are not asked for your name and room number to confirm you are actually a guest. It is possible to freely use the pool area and sunbeds without being a guest at the hotel ( I witnessed this every day ). Very annoying after paying a lot to stay there
Pleasant staff, beautiful view, on the beach, beautiful and spacious common rooms.
The hotel was gorgeous and the pools and reception were breathtaking. The buffet breakfast and dinner were good also. The staff around the pool areas were very few and we had to go in person to order. The hotel made a mistake with our booking and said that Bookings.com did not provide them with the reservation receipt, we hence had to wait a while before given a room.
Friendly staff, very clean and very good breakfast.
Staff can be a bit abrupt but on the whole are helpful
location We did not like the fact that the pool towels were dirty on 3 seperate occasions & a pillow slip was also dirty with what appeared to be dry blood on it and took 3 phone calls to change this. The male staff were very lax but both girls on reception, particulary Elizabeth were very helpful. The pool staff were too busy or not interested in empty bottles of water and coke cans being used as diving devices by the children who were not being supervised by their arrogant parents, which lead us to reducing the frequency of use of what was a good pool in a very good location. Airconditionng in the rooms needs to be looked at as when we set it up at 10 celsius for 5 days straight non stop and both my wife and I slept with no covers
great location, delicious foods, clean and good price...
Good value and location, reasonably close to old town Rhodes ( 15 min walk) and restaurants, but in quiet area of new town. Breakfast buffet was best we had in Europe. Plaza travel desk was very helpful. Ceiling in shower had mold on it. Parking a problem if you have a car.
The location and the food The rooms with garden view look directly in the windows of other hotel, while the rooms from the other side are directly over a street, so it can be very noisy
i recomend it to anyone, the staff was very friendly and helpful.this hotel is fine
The staff were very friendly. The location was excellent. The shower/bath tub did not drain properly.
Breakfast could have been better
Good place, in the middle of town. Good breakfast with a chef to make omelette of your choise etc. Thanks! The bed was hard, like laying in the floor. Unfortunately that's my experience of all beds in Greece - those are hard or really hard.
breakfast was included in the price - food was good; Greek dancers on Sunday night - excellent! Using your room key to keep the power on in the room.
Room service personnel was ok Hotel urgently needs refurbushment! Breakfast quality needs update!
Fairly spacious room, great swimming pools with ample sunbeds. restaurant good, too.
The staff is v ery attentive and efficient; the infrastructures of the hotel are superb; the SPA is great. The only remark is for the sofa/bed in the Family Room: is siutable only for kids and is very unconfortable. The sofa bed in the family room.
I stayed at Amathus with a friend. We was looking for a relaxing holiday, with sun, swimming and some luxus. The choice of hotel was excellent for us. Peacefull, not overcrowded, nice swimmingpool's (specially the one at the 11'th floor), and the beach just 50m away. We choosed to hire a bungalow, and that was a good choice. The room was not very luxuary, and we did not have any view over the sea. Still it was nice, clean and we was lucky to get one at 2'nd floor and did not have any "traffic" of other guest outside the balcony. The breakfast was really good, and the staff was lovely and smiling in the breakfast resturant. For dinners and drinks we went to Rhodes town, while espesially drinks was very expensive at the hotel. The staff at the 11'th floor pool resturant was not very nice. Never a smile and problems while we would like a table where we could enjoy the lovely view over the see. Was also a little disapointed over the standard of the bungalow. Had expected moore luxus on a 5 star hotel.
My experience of my visit was excellent in all ways. A special regards to all restaurant stuff including pool staff. No
The beach, the pool area and the fitness area The stuff was not friendly at all. I have recivied not a good room and wanted to change a better one. They havn't solved my problem for five days, but I was staying one week in the hotel and I was asking them at least three times a day!
Customer focus, good atmosphere and great facilities. Excellent fitness facilities ... set menu in restaurant, not particularly friendly to children
very clean, receptionist was very friendly and helpful.Restaurant was very good. Entire atmosphere was very good.
The position of the hotel, the breakfast, politeness of staff and the view The cleanliness of the room, old ferniture, the hotel needs redecoration
Close from the old city, mini market, restaurants, car location, beaches. Fair price and clean.
the hotel is situated very well, the atmosphere and the apartments are of high standard, the apartment was quiet though located in the heart of the town no
Air conditioning; free LAN in room (or WiFi in Lobby); comfy beds; block out curtains; quiet location; elevator; TV; very spacious - a small self-contained apartment (kitchen, not laundry); phone in room; really cheap promotional rate - was excellent value for money; located in central part of Old Town Missing fixtures and fittings (like the builders forgot to finish putting air con grate over hole in wall!) etc; staff were a little bit reluctant to tend to reception
location building site at the back.
Well located for Rhodes Town, Old Town and Beaches. Nice pool at the rear also.
Excellent facilities with a really high standard of finish. Terrific pool areas. I was there on business and would not normally pay full price for such accommodation. Very few local dishes on the menu (but this is endemic with "international" hotels) so we went out to tavernas. Some issues with service at the breakfast buffet (but seen in the context of a busy business conference).
We recently stayed at this resort and found the facilities and the service were excellent. My son had his 11th birthday and when I asked the poolside restaurant if I could organise a birthday cake for him they were very obliging and provided the cake on the house. They were fantastic and made it a very special occassion. Internet was not free in room.
For business very appropriate wireless system only functions in lobby of hotel. Expansion to rooms necessary

view!!! Thank you for giving me this assessment. Provided that you give your price and hotel price, unfortunately, that was different from each other. ultimately agreed to the price you have given. The other problem is; When I made a rezervation from booking.com I used my American Express card. The gentleman who asked me" Do you want to use your American Express or another card" .I said "I want to use different card instead of American express card.Gentleman standing at the front desk told me you can make the card change from the hotel on checking out. To close my account I went to the reception on the evening of 31/08/11. I said I want to give the diffrent card instead od american express. Currently we can not take another card. tomorrow (ie today), they provided an e-mail card, You can send mail what is the situation. But this is a big annoyance for me. I am very busy man at my work.. outside of my work is currently interested in these jobs. A big waste of time for me. This is my complaint. I still want to use another card instead of american express card. But this process must be today. They have to refund all total to my American express card.. I will give the another card number then they will take the total from my card.
Everything was absolutely great. The hotel staff is very kind, helpful when asked, almost transparent when you need privacy; breakfast is wonderful, the sight is amazing, all the facilities are well maintained and working. One of the best hotels I have ever been. Actually, there is nothing that I can blame about this hotel. The only thing, if I have to find one, is the distance from Rhodes. It is not at walking distance, but buses are frequent (15 mins), and take about 10 mins to get into town.
Comfortable and convenient to go to the beach
The hotel is very new and modern. nice design. close to the beach. few km from the center of the town. good resturant. We ordered a family room and didn't expect it will be one room with 2 king beds.
Friendly helpful staff. Great pool. Wonderful beds.Excellent breakfast buffet. Great aquagym lesson in morning. Fantastic setting. Very romantic location. Spa needs updating. Beach towels need to be available at pool. Didn't appreciate having to pay 18 euros an hour for tennis court.
Very convenient location for Rhodes town, lovely private beach and hotel pools. Friendly staff, quiet spacious rooms with lovely comfrotable beds. Restaurant choices quite limited and the food on a half board basis was not as good as it could have been on some evenings. For independent travellers more information from the reception staff would have been useful in terms of the hotel facilities, travelling around the island. No complains, a really good hotel and a thoroughly enjoyable holiday.
The Taverna "Dixti" on the beach beside the hotel. Failed to provide a true Greek experience vacation.
fabulous views of the sea and coast line. Lovely pool area. Excellent standard of accomodation.
Yes but too noisy around the bar and no ambience around the beach
It was an absolutey gorgeous and facilities great too
Nice hotel. Water in the swiming pool was very chlorinated. Вода в бассейне очень хлорирована.
The olympic-size pool, the helpful staff, the relaxed atmosphere, the tennis and table-tennis... As said, the staff are great but nobody really seems to be in charge of overall tidiness, and you can see soda-pop cans remaining on the ground for days...
we liked the newly renovated lobby and check in facilities as well as the updated and comfortable room, we had a splendin sea facing room with beautiful views. The shuttle service departing from outside the hotel to and from Rhodes was a welcome service as well as a short walk to the main road where regular buses are freely available. we were not on an all inclusive so the lack of a room service proved to be rather inconvenient, as well as the what we felt a was below average poolside bar with very expensive drinks.
We were given a bungalow instead of a room. That was nice and spacious, despite it was a little bit further from the beach.
The staff was very helpful and changed us after two days from an unacceptable non-air conditioned room to a bungalow with remote control for the air conditioning unit. Kallithea is close to Rhodes town and has south facing beach so better swimming. But the hotels across the bay are VERY noisy in the evening. Restaurant food ok. Taxi 9 euros to town. Taxi 23 euros to airport. Buses every 1/2hour Warning: Hotel undergoing renovation so we were given a room with NO air conditioning. Have dozens of mosquito bites (given better room after 2 days). No safe or deadbolt in regular room. No beach towels provided; cost 12 euros in gift shop but 3 for 10 euros in town. 3 euro charge for beach bed; no charge at pool. Bus stop long walk from entrance. Restaurant toaster screeches annoying brkfst
I enjoyed my room. It was large and comfortable. Although I did not use the pools, they looked lovely. The adjoining beach was wonderful as was the beach taverna. I think there could be more choices at breakfast. The food selection was exactly the same every morning.
The beakfast restaurant staff tried to make You feeling that you were welcome even if the variety of the food was poor If You are a frequent traveler and stayed in many four stars hotel, please do not be suggested by the number of stars. The hotel deserves at the highest two! Why? !.No hygienic supplies (shampoo, shower cream) only one set upon the arrival then you should buy if you wish more. Arrogant front desk staff (suspecting you that You change beach towel more often than you are allowed to). Cleaning staff swapping rubbish under the bed. Small areas of the bathroom were not cleaned during our whole stay (two weeks). Problem with big cockroaches, it was impossible to get rid of them.
Peaceful location.Nice, quiet rooms. Very good breakfast The hotel was quite far from the Rodos town, where all the action happens.. at the end of the season there was not too much choises in Ialyssos. The hotel consists of Sun Beach One and Sun Beach two. In Sun Beach two the stuff was very nice and helpful, but in Sun Beach Two they were very rude and didn't want to help the customers. Hotel was supposed to have a sauna and jaguzzi, but the very unpleasant, older male receptionist just said that both of them are broken. I asked if anywhere in town is another sauna/spa/hamam; he's answer was "No, I don't know". From the internet I found plenty of choises. How can this man work tourists? The woman in the lobbybat in Sun Beach two was also very rude. Luckily we didn't have to stay in that building.
I was impressed with my stay in this hotel. Clean, excellent location, good food and very friendly staff. I will rebook when I visit Rhodes again in June. Highly recommended!!!
large pool, Gina in the bar, beach at door step. 16 euro for a tiny safe, lost our reservation even with written confirmation, expensive wi-fi, unrenovated rooms were horrible.
good hotel. Was booked in another hotel nearby and was not very satisfied. As my flight was delayed and had to stay in Rhodes for an extra night I decided to give Sun Beach a try and was so glad to do this. Very warm staff and good facilities. internet should be offered for free. Reception area was a bit old fashioned but for the price paid this did not bother me at all. Rooms are renovated.
staff at the reception is excellent this is not a 4 - star hotel
very pleasant stay. the staff were all friendly and helpfull and the hotel was ideally located for the airport and day trips out to Rhodes
Everything That I did not get a chance to utilize all the facilities offered.
Italian restaurant, (junior suite) sea view, close to the sea Unengaged staff at times, some facilities advertised on the hotel website not available (suite internet access, sauna, gym), rock beach, airplanes fly over low. Watersports over 1km away. Chinese restaurant has few actual Chinese dishes.
The all inclusive meals and the location were great. The drinks should be a little bit bigger. A 5 ounce glass of beer with half was foam is not worth the trip. We spent most of the time going up and back for drinks. What a huge waste of time. I would still recommend the hotel but with some hesitation in doing so.
The hotel was fantastic and deserves it's current rating. The location was perfect and the food was excellent. The air conditioning was below standard and the room was very hot at night.
