Pros: Very quiet comfortable room. Excellent water pressure in shower. Beautiful courtyard. Very close to Patzcuaro's main square. Another reviewer said room lacked heat. They provided an excellent space heater.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Hotel Pueblo Mágico was excellent. The room was spotless and had plenty of room, lighting and storage for two. The staff was great and very helpful. We loved having coffee and pastries throughout the day. The location was excellent - a few minutes walk from the main square (which was crowded for Muertos).
Cons: The shower wasn't the best. The controls were a little hard to get the water to a good temperature, the nozzle was awkwardly placed and there was small leak onto the bathroom floor. But it didn't hamper our stay in any way and we would stay again without hesitation.
5.5 Okay
Pros: Nice garden in the center of the hotel
Cons: Rooms were dark and cold, shower hot water lasted less than 5 minutes, the only breakfast offered was make-you-own instant coffee at the reception area, rarely saw hotel staff and if one did, they were not welcoming or very friendly.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a perfect choice for those who want accommodations away from the plaza activity but close enough to easily walk. This is a delightful, pristine property with a beautiful courtyard garden and quiet sophistication. Personnel truly want you to be satisfied in every regard. Highest recommendation!
Cons: Our particular room on the second floor and back by the garden was perfect, but some rooms, especially on the ground floor, could be on the dark side, but still pleasant.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The facility is beautiful. The courtyard dreamy. Coffee and sweet rolls in the morning. The location is good if you enjoy walking. The bedding was lovely. The staff was cordial and helpful.
Cons: The rooms have no windows except for a window to the courtyard which did not allow for much natural light. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable. The bathroom very small.

7.0 Good
Pros: I enjoyed the breakfast and also the hotels location.
Cons: Although the hotel was beautiful because of its history and preservation it still creeped me out a little bit. Since it is an old building it has that old sense, I do think the restrooms should be updated.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The service of coffee delivered to our room. The bed was perfect except the blankets were a bit heavy and confusing.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: This was a great experience. The room was large with a nice view, food in the restaurant was excellent. Only issue was the oddly styled bathroom and very tiny shower.
Cons: The shower was extremely awkward, small and allowed for lots of water to splash out on to the floor
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location cannot be beat. It's in the heart of the town square. The building is historic yet modern in some ways. The hotel kitchen offers sumptuous, traditional meals in a quaint, sun-lit restaurant.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location on the square is perfect. Breakfast was great. Beds are very comfortable. Room 10 has a wonderful small patio to sit out. The architecture is beautiful.
Cons: The rooms are dark, but that is old style construction
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I always stay at the Mansion Iturbe when I am in Patzcuaro. It is beautiful and tranquil and elegant. AND, it is right on the main square. The room was comfortable and beautifully decorated. The breakfast and the restaurant are really good, too.
Cons: We had some trouble with the television controls, but that is minor. Who goes to Patzcuaro to watch TV?
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was good.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely love this place. Highly recommend it. Great location and the staff is amazing.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Feeling of a well managed and welcoming hotel. The feel of the past is omnipresent everywhere.
Cons: No specifics.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is located right on the main plaza of Pàtzcuaro, so if you open your balcony windows you will take in all of the tranquility of the park and the liveliness of the people. It's a wonderful location. - I asked for a quiet room, and this is definitely a quiet room. The wooden shutters are somewhat sound-proof, as is the door. My favorite thing about the windows though is that the shutters are also light-proof... so during the day the room could be made nearly pitch dark. I like to sleep late, so this is a huge plus. -- The room was fancier and more modern-feeling than I expected, yet also had a lot of cool antiques throughout it. It is great to stay in a 1700s hotel with dark 1700s wood everywhere, including the original ceiling ribs, yet also have a safe built into the cabinet, and recessed lighting. The room is just the right mixture of antique and modern. The interior of the hotel is beautiful, with a nice garden area, as well as a slightly creepy (lots of hanging dolls and creepy saint picture) reading room and other beautiful common areas. Lots of cool antiques wherever you look. Beautiful old building. Very friendly and helpful staff. STRONG WIFI.
Cons: While the room was super quiet on the first day, the plaza was super noisy on the second day. People were blasting music at 9am, and lots of noises continued after that. Using earplugs was enough to make this a negligible issue. -- Shower was "just warm". Also overflowed out of the shower very easily. -- Hotel has free parking four blocks away... Didn't bother me until I checked out and was charged money by the parking lot for not picking up my car before check-out time. For example if your checkout time is Noon and you pickup your car at 12:30 or 1pm you'll have to pay money. I called the hotel and told them no one had warned me of this, but they refused to cover it. The cost was tiny, so whatever. -- Also my room had vibrations from passing trucks, but I didn't care. -- The restaurant was lackluster. - Could use a more comfortable sitting chair in the room... They just provided a very uncomfortable desk chair. (I stole still uncomfortable, but slightly more comfortable chair from the hallway)
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Old well maintained
Cons: No coffee maker in room

7.5 Good
Pros: Everything but especially the view of the lake in the mist in the morning with the fishermen setting their nets Staff wonderful. Accommodations better than perfect. Very attractive lace and I will return
Cons: It was very hard to find after dark and the steep driveway a little scary in the dark. But they were waiting for us which was wonderful because we needed help with my husband in a wheelchair. It would have been nice if the place could have been pet friendly but we compromised on the balcony for our Welsh terrier.

Pros: After spending two weeks touring Mexico we arrived at Casa Coco, where we were met with welcoming smiles. We both were tired and needed to relax. The room was spacious and clean. Pros: Great location, within walking distance of la Plaza Chica and the Mercado. Has its own parking lot. The staff was friendly and helped us with directions, room was big and clean. The hotel itself is beautiful.
Cons: No AC or ceiling fans which was a huge problem because it got really hot at night. My partner had to sleep on the floor to keep cool. You literally have to whisper at night time to make sure you don't bother the other guests.
7.0 Good
Pros: Nice clean & centric...
Cons: Nothing to dislike...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great and clean
Cons: The place is extraordinary great, the only problem is if your room is near the restaurant area, in the mornings you can be disturbed by the noise, but if you are a deep sleeper no big deal..
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location in the middle of town near the market. Despite that, the rooms were not noisy and we found them very comfortable. The king size bed was awesome!
6.8 Good
Pros: The location is good. It is very close to the Mercado and A main plaza. The MAIN plaza is about one long block away. From the entrance to our room it was very clean. The bed Is large, it’s firm, and comfy.
Cons: Unfortunately we arrived and I stood and waited 10 minutes to be helped/ greeted by Antonio at registration, acting busy, never made eye contact. When our room was ready, Antonio was very unprofessional, he avoided me at check-in, helped others, before me. I started to think maybe I’m just me seeing the situation the wrong way, but my mom who is very patient noticed how I was being treated by him. I felt uncomfortable and unwelcomed. On the other hand LEONEL was so nice, he should be behind the desk. Leonel was the one who asked how he could help make things better. Gracias Leonel. Few more things, there is no a/c the balcony opens to the inside of the hotel and it is stuffy. The noise and the echo is bad you can hear everything everywhere, at all times. My mom is elderly and had trouble with all the stairs, I asked if they had a room downstairs for my mom and unfortunately all ONE BED rooms were upstairs and because I requested one bed there was nothing (ANTONIO) could do. Property description does not specify.

Cons: price was high
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is in a great location near the open market and the centro square. The building itself is large and gorgeous. It was very clean and the staff was OK. The king bed was awesome and very comfortable. The room was very large, plenty of furniture. The shower had plenty of hot water. The room was cleaned and refreshed every day. There was a large and beautiful living area right outside our room.
Cons: There was no window in our room. No access to clean fresh air and there was a terrible smell coming from the bathroom sink vents. After a 3 day stay, we finally found the source of the horrible smell and plugged the vents with wads of toilet paper. There were speakers playing music in the corridors that I did not appreciate during siesta time and the music stayed on until about 9:30 at night. With no windows in the room, it was pitch black inside - even during the day. We did not ask for another room - our stuff was already unpacked and all over the place and it seemed like we'd be better off waiting out our stay. We did not see any other rooms with windows, anyway. Also, there is no restaurant or bar attached to this hotel. No coffee available - had to go down the street to the Oxxo.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice Ambiente and very friendly and helpfully staff

7.0 Good
Pros: Very kind staff, colonial style of a hotel, food at restaurant, tennis court and garden.
Cons: Wifi wasn't working most of time and when it worked the connection was very slow. It was cold in the room even though there was a heater. But most importantly it was dirty - especially the towels and sheets - shame on you guys, this certainly isn't Best Western quality.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Confort of room Hotel property
Cons: No hot water unless we asked
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel allowed us to get a room time before the check in, I found out that very nice from them.
Cons: The final rate was higher than the mentioned at the time of booking
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff service
Cons: No hot water For taking showers The wall heater had no buttons and staff came to check and said wires had been cut off.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I chose this hotel for easy access coming from Morelia, and close to Centro Patzcuaro, with a secure parking lot. Everything has been fantastic on my stay. My room is spacious and the closet is extra large, so all my luggage fit easily in there. The shower has plenty of hot water and a large overhead showerhead. There is shelving in the bathroom so you can leave your toiletries out and organized. The bed is very comfy, there is a TV (I never used), great wifi, and a wall heater next to the bed for cooler evenings. Traveling alone, I decided most nights to eat in the hotel's restaurant: Tarasca. It was wonderful for breakfast each morning and for relaxing evenings without driving at night. The waiters are really great and they play mellow music in the elegant dining room. The entire staff is very professional and so nice! Parking in the lot is easy. Great hotel, and the price was very reasonable! I even added an extra night, as I was feeling so at home on my long road trip.
Cons: A fact with Mexican plumbing, is you may sometimes get a whiff of foul odor. I read once it has to do with lack of a flap in the system. Anyway, it wasn't awful, and they provide a cover to go over the floor vent, which did help. That was the only negative. The rest was all fantastic! Especially the value of the low price, comfortable room and excellent service!!
7.0 Good
Pros: Ver clean, nice room and great staff
Cons: Too expensive, charges like ultra luxury, but I understand since it was in high season
8.8 Excellent
Pros: This is a beautiful hotel if, like us, you prefer old-world charm while traveling over modern facilities. We were given rooms that had a large balcony/seating area outside, and it overlooked a large garden with a really outstanding view of Lake Patzcuaro and the Island of Janitzio in the distance. We didn't expect the view, which made our stay extra special. The restaurant is lovely and affordable with great staff and food.
Cons: I don't think there's anything to be done about the bombardment of insects we experienced. Apparently, they were in larger numbers due to humidity and intermittent rain. One night was especially bad, when one of us was woken by an earwig crawling on his face, and we turned on the light to find at least 10 large insects crawling on the opposite wall. So, just be prepared, and I recommend bringing bug spray because we woke up with many bites on our legs. Also, it is quite a trek to the main center of Patzcuaro. If you are physically fit, it will be a refreshing 20-minute or so walk. If you are older or have limited mobility, you will need to use a taxi, but they are easy to find next door at the Bodega.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice breakfast but a little bit expensive.
Cons: Beds are not comfortable and in swimming pool area there was not bar and restaurant service, I had to go directly to restaurant to order! Hotel allow guest to bring food and drinks from outside the bar an restaurant, I believe is not fare for me and other guest that consume and pay in hotel´s restaurant and bar and in addition is not according to hotel´s level!
7.5 Good
Pros: Very good
Cons: Booking.com misinformed us about booking

Pros: A beautiful converted Mansion just off the main square, wish we had more time there. The staff were so considerate even though I speak little Spanish. We got a room near the back so it was quiet and just heard the church. The rooms were a dream, elegant furniture, fridge, tasty coffee, tiled bathrooms, house coats and soft large pillows. Pure glamour.
Cons: Some rooms come with a fireplace and I thought it would be so cool to have a fire....almost smoked myself out of the room so I recommend asking for a space heater. Luckily the blankets are so warm that all was well in the end.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: No windows in our room!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I like the location, cleanliness and the fireplace
8.0 Excellent
Pros: nice place, nice people
Cons: The bathroom not very good : beautiful but does not work very well...
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The room was so nice! It was a bit dark since there was no window. But I loved the smell (my room was named "aromatherapy") and everything else was very comfortable. I also loved the antique interior!
Cons: There was no window in the room which made it a bit dark and I always feel a bit scared in rooms without natural light sources.

Pros: The view is magnificent. The personnel were friendly and helpful. They brought us coffee, pan dulce and fruit to our terrace. This was great until we started class-so enjoyed 2 days of our stay.
Cons: I would’ve liked a breakfast kitchen. Earlier coffee since we had early meetings. But this was a minor inconvenience.
7.0 Good
Pros: Free breakfast and coffee. Good location.
Cons: Booking.com had the listing as "terrace view". We had no terrace view and were on the first floor. Should not have charged me as much for a deceiving room.
7.0 Good
Pros: The lake view is better than expected; easy to arrive and get into town if you have a car. Rooms are spacious. For a quick stopover of one night in Patzcuaro, I'll probably get back to this place, for a longer stay, I'd rather look for something more classy closer to the centre.
Cons: The hotel is right on a busy road, there is considerable noise from passing trucks. The installations are nice but basic.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great view, large, spacious and clean room with an outside balcony and great view of isla Janitzio. Secure parking, friendly and helpful staff.
Cons: Location to Centro, a drive was necessary.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff very friendly and helpful. There's an electric heater in the room.
Cons: Not really close to the downtown area you have to ride a bus or taxi, and the lake is not as close as you see it in their publicity pictures.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The host were very friendly! And the view was pretty cool!! Also they gave us free bread and coffee!

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Pet friendly.
Cons: Cold in the morning and the fireplace did not have enough wood to last the night.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I loved all the old wooden doors, the tile floors, the high ceilings, the stone fireplace (though I didn’t use it), the giant Cucucho clay pots, and, of course, the gorgeous garden in the courtyard! I also loved the location: close enough to easily walk into the centre of town, but far enough to escape the crowds and noise. It was incredibly quiet at Meson de San Antonio, and I slept very well here.
Cons: My main quibble is with booking.com: they made it seem like the place was almost sold out when I was on the point of making my reservation. However, the two nights I stayed at Meson de San Antonio, I was pretty much the only person there! But I guess that was a plus, too!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely old Hacienda feel. Loved the coffee and bread rolls every morning. Very helpful staff who arranged a wonderful taxi driver for us.
Cons: It is chilly in the mornings but it was part of the experience. I took my coffee and sat in bed, with lots of warm blankets and fleece sheets! There is no central heating so bring your woolies.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location is very close to the town centre, the room was large and spotlessly clean, the price was very economical. Al in all, a great stay, will stay there again next time in Patzcuaro.
Cons: WiFi signal was spotty in the room, was just fine closer to the lobby.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: nice large room. very comfortable bed. Fireplace very nice and ample wood supplied. Edain (Employee) was very nice and helpful. Would recommend Omar the taxi driver for side trips. The desk nice. We thought a very good value..
Cons: could use at least one brighter light for reading.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful old hacienda. Well equipped kitchen for guests to use.
Cons: Some neighbor barking at time

9.2 Excellent (162 reviews)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. Gorgeous, comfy, and above all the staff working there are terrific, helpful, friendly, and kind.
Cons: The only thing not to like was that I couldn’t stay longer!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We arrived by mistake one day early and Alejandro was wonderful! He had one vacant King room that he quickly had made up so that we all could stay even though we were not expected until the next day. Alejandro and Leticia and the other two ladies working there were so pleasant and kind. They even offered us space in the fridge in the kitchen and we were able to cook a light supper for ourselves. The property is very unusual and is beautifully decorated. The beds are fantastic! And we loved having a fireplace in each room. It was also so convenient to have the parking lot right across the street.
Cons: The two King rooms are extremely spacious and will be beautiful once they are completed. But, it was somewhat difficult to organize our belongings without closets even though Alejandro went out of his way to make us comfortable.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice friendly staff, amazing breakfast, great location
Cons: Bed was very hard, and there is a lack of comfortable seating
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great place, good location and perfect breakfast!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful, artistic property on quiet street close to center. Free parking across the street. Comfy beds and fireplace in each room. Leticia is excellent at her job providing us with a warm welcome and touring information for surrounding villages. Highly recommend.
Cons: Shower head not adjustable and too high; bathroom window can't open to release moisture.
7.5 Good
Pros: Lovely facility. Spacious and comfortable room and bed. Excellent breakfast Fire place and fire.
Cons: Very cold at night (late December), and rooms stayed cold during the day. Nice to have a fire place. Wood doesn't last too long and not enough to warm the room, but nice to sit by and hear.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful property. Rooms are on four different levels. Patios with views of the mountains. Tasty breakfast. Comfy beds with thick comforters and wood burning fireplace in each room. Very attentive staff Highly recommend!
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is beautiful, super clean, super comfy and clean linens in bed.
Cons: Bring ear plugs because the dogs of the area bark all night and then the rooster starts singing at 4 am. Coffee from breakfast was not good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was so friendly, accommodating and professional and the hotel a little gem! They went out of their way to make sure we had a wonderful experience! They helped me surprise my husband for his birthday! We will definitely be back!
Cons: Just need somewhere to hang clothes, other than that it was great and such a deal!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The facility is beautiful. The staff were extra helpful. Breakfast was excellent. A totally enjoyable experience. Excellent location.

5.8 Okay
Pros: These are lovely rooms and very quaint. But the noise from the street prevents any possibility of a restful night and all three rooms we booked were on the main floor and extremely noisy.
Cons: Noise! Noise! Noise!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: I got a good deal on my room.
Cons: Staff does not know the reservations of the day until later in the morning. They had to call some other location to confirm. Staff did not know about tours or how to get to some places.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The better rooms were lovely. Location good. The bah in my room was fabulous especially on a cold evening! The second room I stayed in had an electric heater which was necessary if one spent any time sitting in the room.
Cons: The receptionists varied. The ‘manager’ was great but The young receptionist when I arrived did not speak any English and was not very helpful or attentive. The so called ‘views” mentioned on the booking.com site were non existent from all the rooms as far as I could tell. Also the photograph of the hotel used on the booking.com site is not of the hotel. The wifi was non existent in one of the rooms I stayed in.
5.0 Okay
Pros: small room, lot of noise
Cons: space, and noise
7.0 Good

2.5 Mediocre
Pros: Location
Cons: No natural Lighting ok the room (no outside windows) No wifi No breakfast (even when they said that was included)
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location, the building by itself, staff, incredible place! Have gone to this hotel for more than 50 years.
Cons: Restaurant not as good as expected
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was exceptional.
2.0 Mediocre
Pros: the hotel was overbooked -even though it was still offering up rooms on kayak - they - without any notification - booked us a room in another hotel which was not good at all. I am fighting for a refund as we had to book a much more expensive room at a nearby hotel.
2.0 Mediocre
Cons: In June I reserved a room at Posada La Basilica for the weekend of Day of the Dead...31 October - 3 November. In July the hotel decided to triple its prices for that weekend, and told me that my room was no longer available because the hotel was "overbooked". I understand their desire to charge the highest prices the market would bear, but cancelling a pre-confirmed and pre-paid reservation is slimeball.
4.5 Okay
Pros: Building complex is beautiful.
Cons: I asked for a room away from noise and they gave me a ground-floor with windows to the main road. Noise was overwhelming (you could also hear EVERYTHING from the room next door since the separation between rooms was an old door that didn't reach the ceiling!). Room was very dirty, surfaces had a thick dust layer. There was no hot water on my first night there and water is painfully cold in that weather. I had to pay extra to switch to another room that was also dusty. Phone was broken and they never fixed it, so every time I needed anything I had to personally walk to reception. Mattresses were too hard and old, very uncomfortable. Wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.

Pros: Off street car parking and a dry place to unpack car when raining. The staff were friendly

Pros: The room was nice and clean, but like everywhere in Mexico there was no heating. It was warmer outside than inside. Staff is friendly and helpful. It's just a short walk to the center.
Cons: It would be nice to have at least some hot coffee in the morning, as most restaurants open very late.

Pros: Big room and bathroom, all was clean, near the center. The city is safe even in the night.
Cons: There is really cold in the room, no hairdryer.

Pros: The Bellhop was very helpful.
Cons: No heat in room, nearly froze. Bathroom curbless shower drain was plugged, flooded the bathroom floor (curb@door) and made it difficult to dry (no bath mat, only 2 towels, no wash cloth, no hand towels). Freezing cold.
