Easy to find, right on the main street! We walked to everything!! Including the boat to Mackinac!, Restaurants, and shopping! Very clean and updated.
Neat & Clean
it was within walking to everything we wanted to do prices
The proximity to downtown and the ferry was great. Was able to walk everywhere. The beds, the pool, the showers, the breakfast, the price per night.
This place was really great. It was the closest hotel to the Sheplers dock. The gentleman at the front desk allowed us to check-in early and check out late. I would absolutely stay here again.
Didn't have to drive anywhere, nice hotel very convenient. Clean and friendly staff
It was right in the heart of everything. Walking distance within all the shopping and restaurants. I thought the breakfast they offered was very basic. Kinda disappointing. They had coffee, juice, english muffins, dry cereal, and something that was suppose to be biscuits and gravy. Not very good. I would suggest skipping it and hitting a local restaurant,
location, easy in and out, peaceful, very clean, staff is kind and pleasant I would definitely improve the breakfast!!!
I liked the price All the things that were broken in my room. My window couldn't be locked. The sheet had a stain on it. The plugs were broke and the water temp fluctuates wildly. Extreme hot and cold. If your looking for a cheep place to stay this is it but you definitely get what you pay for
Good value! The location is at the end of the boardwalk. Not on beach where some of the website suggested
While not in the heart of town, it was reasonably close- especially to the Star Line docks. The room was clean, the beds comfortable. The indoor pool was well maintained. A hot breakfast was included every morning. The room was a little small. The distance from the central part of town was a little awkward- a bit far to walk, too close to justify driving. Nothing major, however.
We enjoyed stay and will recommend hotei to our friends.
Loved the location - off the main strip so it was quieter. The room was clean and spacious. The staff were all very friendly. The water temperature in the shower kept fluctuating making for an interesting experience!
To start the remote didn't work. They have a pool but no hot tub. Then to end our fifteen minute stay, the bed linen had softball size stains all over the bed. Obvious from the naked eye and being dark in the room. Front desk made me call hotels.Com to get my money back which happened then we went to a different hotel. So disgusting.
Nice view of the Bridge, right across the street. Friendly and welcoming hosts. A nice place to stay after the busy tourist season winds down.
Very clean and comfortable! Staff was very friendly and its right across from the bridge. I would stay again.
The pool was wonderful. Large and heated nicely. It was warmer than any hotel pool I've been to. Not crowded. Needs some new paint, but overall the pool was very nice. Smelled funky. Carpet left our daughters feet black. Paper thin walls. Loud guests, we could hear neighbors and others in the parking lot all night. breakfast was sub par only 3 hot options and they ran out of food knowing the hotel was fully booked.
Charm and pleasant staff. No.
I liked the location. Yes the grounds were nice and cared for. The owners were very nice and family oriented. I love supporting small business instead of cooperate business. I really liked the seating provided on the grounds. No other hotel offered it. The room smelled like moth balls or old, old wood. It was overwhelming and unacceptable due to the price of the room and the area competition. The grounds were nice however the pool looked dirty, needs repainted or something.
We stayed at the Super 8 Petoskey for 3 nights. We were surprised by all the amenities at the hotel considering the price. It far exceeded our expectations. We had a bayview room which was worth the upgrade. Our room had two queen beds and we found it was much larger than a typical hotel room. It also had a small table which we liked. We requested a refrigerator and also received a microwave as well. The bathroom was also on the larger side with a nice, modern shower. The room and bathroom were very clean. Our room was cleaned everyday and towels were refreshed, etc. The lobby had fresh fruit everyday as well as coffee. We enjoyed the breakfast each morning. They had a better-than-continental style breakfast which included several types of cereals, oatmeal, biscuits and gravy, hard boiled eggs, bagels, muffins, fruit, plus waffle irons to make your own waffles. The food was very well re-stocked and the nice lady even gave my kids a frozen go-gurt each day which they saved for lunchtime. We also loved the pool which we had all to ourselves since we went each evening around 5:30. It was larger than most hotel pools and was heated (some hotels say their pool is heated when it is clearly not). There was also a very large hot tub. We have 3 young children so a major convenience with the pool area was that there was a bathroom right in the pool-room. At most hotels it is down the hallway. All the employees were very friendly and we really enjoyed our stay. The town of Petoskey was wonderful as well. Next time we visit we will definitely stay here again!
Very nice for a budget hotel. Very clean. The staff was quite friendly and helpful with lots of local knowledge. Pool was OK. Not the greatest location, as there are no good walking/cycling routes to city center.
I found this hotel to be very clean and very comfortable. Included in the price was\nbreakfast bar which was very clean and well stocked. The employees where very\nkind and helpful with directions. I enjoyed the view from my window to the bay. The\nhotel is not on the main road but worth the short mile for the comfort and kindness we\nreceived form the staff.
Typical Hotel room with no bells or whistles, price was a bit high due to some event in the area, otherwise just another excuse to jack the rates up!
Our family has stayed in 5 star hotels to no stars..., but by far this hotel's house keeping was the best!\nThe room was clean! The house keeping kept it very clean during our whole stay! The house keeping was better than the 'Wynn' in Las Vegas! We were pleasently surprised by this! The kids loved the pool... The location of this hotel was close to town and beaches! Great price!!! Good breakfast!!! We will be staying at this hotel again! Thanks!
Was pleasantly surprised at this Super 8. I travel a lot for business and stay in a lot of hotels preferring Holiday Inn's (mostly due to their reward program) and was a little sceptical but on a recent ski trip we found the room to be large, clean and except for the small tube TV ( come on, flat screens are like $200), very adequate.
We never expected a Super 8 to be this clean and pleasant to stay in. It was well worth the money and I would recommend it to anyone.
This hotel was fabulous -- great facility, great food, and great service. The staff was so friendly and even helped me to identify where to find Petoskey stones, local restaurants, etc. Room was large and beds were very comfortable. We went for a snowboarding trip and it was an excellent location - right between Boyne Mountain and Nubs Nob & Boyne Highlands.
We have been to Petoskey many times but there was still some local knowledge that the front desk was awesome in helping us out. We were originally schedule to be in a back room with a lovely view of a hill but they were able to help us and move us to a room on the front of the hotel with an awesome view of the bay. Request the front if you have a choice.
We were greeted by the very friendly Miranda at the front desk. She was very helpful with answering all of our questions about Petosky stones, location of beaches, restaurants etc. We requested a room on first floor/by pool..no problem. Breakfast is very good and the staff keeps all of the items filled in and fresh. Clean rooms/pool area. Internet worked great. Also a great location.
The manager at this hotel was very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Not quite on the main road up to the ski areas the view out of the front of the hotel was beautiful as it overlooked the bay to the north. Breakfast was traditional as with most hotels but as always convienient and clean and well stocked. My daughter really enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Would definitely stay here again.
They upgraded our room to a mini suite. The grandkids loved staying in a motel
Close to highway and attractions Older motel, felt and smelled like it needed updating. Kind of beat up, the entryways were dirty with cobwebs and bugs around. Room was just ok and didn't feel clean. Just old and overpriced for sure. Ok for a quick overnight stay but couldn't wait to move on.
Balcony is nice and mostly private. Room was clean. Beds were okay. The room next to us had a baby who screamed all night, but that's not the fault of the hotel, just know that if you're a light sleeper and the people next to you are loud, you will hear everything. Breakfast is below average. The fruit looked old. Have a bagel or a waffle and go to Pancake Chef downtown. This place isn't bad, but like everything else in this area, way overpriced for what you get.
Terrific room, very attractive, clean, comfortable beds, nice air from the windows, loved the ceiling fan; professional, kind and helpful staff; low-stress mid-week stay with private time in the whirlpool (yay!); super location; kick-ass continental breakfast and staff; able to check my business on-line; thinking seriously about booking with you again! Thank you, Super 8 and staff. My mom and I had a great stay! Only one thing: We stayed for three days, two nights; and, in that time, saw a tissue on the floor next to a door on our floor that NEVER GOT PICKED UP! Come on, people. I noticed it. How could you NOT have noticed it ??
Saved $75 a night. Kingsize bed with a jacuzzi in the room! I was shocked for what I got with the money I paid.
Furniture was stylish and rustic, perfect for the location. Continental breakfast was as expected, decent selection of quick eats. Staff had to be distracted away from magazine in order to check in (acted annoyed with our presence). Then as a second employee argued with first employee during our check-in we were completely ignored. Finally got room assignment and was placed directly next to open lobby area. Asked politely if they had a quieter room available and without looking up from the desk, we were told "we're full". We responded with "oh, you don't have any other rooms available?" And after an exaggerated sigh, told again "we're full". Very rude.
This was a clean and quiet hotel. The only things I have to say negitively about it was that the hot tub was not very hot, and was dirty and low on water, and also in need of repair as the water was not being sucked out. The pop machine outside by the stairs was not working and they shut off their wifi at 11:00 pm. Was not told they would shut it off when we checked in and was using it when it shut down. It is located close to the shuttle for the Mackinac Island ferry, and a shuttle bus picked us up and dropped us off at the hotel. The staff was very pleasant and helped us when we asked. The room was nice, and it was very clean. This place was a great value for the money.
The front office staff was very helpful and facilitated ferry tickets to Mackinac Island at a discounted rate. Inn was quiet, clean and comfortable They did offer a breakfast of donuts, muffins, and juice, but a better continental breakfast would be a nice addition to their services.
Location was great. Staff very hospitable. Unreliable Internet
The location was great for getting to the Ferry. Everything was unplugged with few outlets, there were bugs swimming after dark that ended up in the room, and the complimentary breakfast was dry donuts and muffins.
The rooms were quite clean. I get that lodging in Mackinaw City is hard to come by on summer weekends, but this was way too expensive for what we got. The hotel wi-fi was nonfunctional, presumably because our room was too far from the single router in the office. If I ever stay in Mackinaw City again, I'll be sure to make reservations farther ahead of time.
I like the low cost and the easy access to the highway. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was hot and had seating in the lobby. The colors and décor was from the fifties. Everything is clean and neat, just not current colors.
The staff was very helpful and pleasant. The rooms were in good shape and very clean. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. It should be noted in the accommodations descriptions that there are not telephones in the rooms.
